5-0 out of 5 stars Eggordinary Egg Cooker
I found this gadget to be quite suitable for my everyday needs. I would definitely recommend this cooker.I'm always overcooking my eggs, but with this cooker it basically impossible to overcook your eggs.

Picked this one out of three. It was true to its' description.I would purchase another for someone else for a gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Oster 4716 Egg Cooker
We are very pleased with the Oster egg cooker. We have had it for approximately one month. It took us a little while to get the proper water level to cook only two soft boiled eggs at a time. Now that we have, it is excellent. Cooking two poached eggs to perfection is very easy. Hard boiled eggs are a snap! We purchased this model because of the automatic shut-off which works just fine. We have found that using filtered water rather than tap water keeps the cooker base cleaner. However, regardless, it is easy to clean and we have used the cream of tartar which takes care of any residual minerals that build up. We would definitely purchase this egg cooker again as a gift for friends or relatives. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This cooker boils up to seven eggs at one time or poaches one or twoeggs in trays. You can use the calibrated water-level indicator to pour theprecise amount of water needed to soft-, medium-, or hard-boil one to seveneggs. The indicator (a tube) has a steel pin in the bottom for piercingeggshells; this will leech out the sulfur so yolks remain yellow during cookingrather than turning green. Assuming the proper amount of water is in the eggholder, the timer will ensure the eggs are cooked to the desired level, and thenindicates with a light and bell when the hard-boiling is completed. You can thenset the timer switch to keep the eggs warm. The plastic egg holder is removable, letting you cool the eggs under running water. Everything cleans easily, including the nonstick coating on top of the boiling plate. The cooker measures9-1/8 inches wide and 5-1/4 inches high. Read more

  • Boils up to seven eggs
  • Two poaching trays included
  • Dual switch for boiling and keeping warm
  • Timer to indicate end of cooking

5-0 out of 5 stars Really useful gadget
I don't typically write reviews, but my love for this gadget has inspired me! I agree with several other posters - who would think that an "egg poacher" is a necessary thing? But, for $20 this is the best gadget I've purchased in a long, long time. Egg poaching is much easier (set the timer and walk away) than conventional method using a pot, and the eggs turn out really good. You can customize the hardness/softness of how they are cooked to your own liking.Clean-up of this contraption is a snap, and it's small enough to easily fit in an already overcrowded kitchen. I was able to take this out of the box, read the directions and had a hardboiled egg with no muss within a few minutes! I love this egg cooker so much that I'm planning on giving several of these as Christmas gifts this year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for us
I bought this egg cooker so my husband could have his favorite breakfast for his first fathers day, eggs benedict. He was so excited. They turned out great! He now uses the cooker in the morning to poach eggs. I like it for hardboiled eggs. They turn out perfect, no green yolks! The poaching cups are a little odd being oval so your poached eggs are long and thinner than what you would expect, but it really doesn't bother us.I love how small the unit is and how the cord wraps around the base. It was a great price and is just perfect!
4-0 out of 5 stars Sounds silly but I love it!
I don't usually buy single-use kitchen gizmos but in this case, I had seen one in action at a friend's house and decided that I would break my policy for this item. The eggs are cooked perfectly and my only complaint is the 10 minutes or so you need to wait between successive cookings.(The manual says to wait 30 minutes, but that isn't necessasary.)Not bad if you are boiling up lots of eggs, but a problem when cooking poached eggs for more than one person (it only cooks two at a time). ... Editorial Review

This versatile egg cooker serves eggs any way you like them--poached for Eggs Benedict, hard-cooked for spinach salads or deviled eggs, or soft-cooked for serving in an egg cup. Completely foolproof, this appliance only requires that you fill the base with the proper amount of water for the number of eggs you’re cooking and then flip the power switch. An alert sounds when eggs are ready. The cooker has a removable rack that holds up to seven eggs for hard- or soft-boiling. A separate poaching pan with an easy-to-clean nonstick interior holds a total of four eggs. The heat-resistant base stays cool while eggs are cooking and a clear lid lets you check progress. The cooker also comes with its own measuring cup that has a pin in the bottom for piercing eggshells when soft-cooking (to keep them from cracking during cooking). This egg cooker is covered by West Bend under a 1-year warranty. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars End result is fine but getting there is difficult
I love poached eggs, and the eggs that you get from the West Bend Cooker are very tasty. However, getting them from this cooker is a exercise in trial-and-error at best.
4-0 out of 5 stars West Bend Automati Egg Cooker
This is an excellent cooker.I love it for the poached eggs and the hard cooked eggs in the shell.I would recommend it to anyone. It is easy to use and easy to clean.
2-0 out of 5 stars Oster is a better product
As always the item was delivered in a timely manner, however it is not nearly as user friendly as the Oster Egg Cooker which was out of stock. On the plus side, the eggs do not stick to the poaching part, the cooker itself cleans up nicely.

Keep your burners free and your eggs from overcooking with this countertop egg cooker. The cooker poaches up to three large eggs and soft-boils or hard-boils up to seven at a time. A built-in timer adjusts automatically to soft or hard settings and buzzes loudly enough to draw you in from the garden when the eggs are done. Soft-boiled eggs come out with a perfectly half-cooked center, while the white is cooked solid. The automatic shut-off feature adds an extra measure of safety to this sleek appliance. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars works great but broke after 1 year of use
The egg cooker worked great, see other reviews. But after just over 1 year of use, it broke down (it smells that the power supply or the wire has been fried). Well, it cookied 1000+ eggs in a year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Eggs
I have owned my egg cooker for about a year and it was actually a replacement for one that I used so much I finally wore it out. I have read a few reviews from people who said it makes a mess inside and out (egg exploding & water leaking). First of all, the piercer that comes with it on the end of the water measuring cup is to actually PIERCE the egg on one end so the pressure inside does not cause it to burst and leak out all over the inside of the cooker. Didn't you ever wonder what the needle was for? Or read about it? Second of all, the water leakage is more than likely due to a factory defect. Mine has been working leak free for a year, but my old one did start to leak after many years of usage.
1-0 out of 5 stars Good looks poor performance
The design looks great. It does a wonderful job of hard boiling eggs.Don't even attempt to poach eggs, however. The plastic holder used for poaching eggs is so thick and heat resistant that the bottom of the eggs stay raw while the tops get overdone.

Poach one or two eggs, create fluffy individual omelets, or cook up to six soft-, medium-, or hard-boiled eggs with this electric cooker, which actually uses steam to cook the food. A measuring cup (with a built-in egg piercer) is included--fill it with water to the appropriate level for the number of eggs you want to cook and how well done you want them, then pour the water into the nonstick heating vessel. Eggs for poaching and omelets go into D-shaped pans, while whole eggs rest on a rack. Put the clear domed lid on top and turn the dial to one of two cook settings: "silent" (you have to time the cooking) or "buzzer," which alerts you when the food is done. Clean the plastic parts in warm, sudsy water, and wipe the unit clean with a damp cloth. For compact storage, the power cord winds into a track underneath the 7-1/2-by-4-1/2-inch unit. Read more

Features

  • Boils up to six eggs--choose soft, medium, or hard
  • Also poaches one to two eggs, and makes fluffy omelets
  • Compact size great for small kitchen or dorm room
  • Nonstick interior, easy to clean
  • Built-in cord storage

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product for busy mornings
I was one of those people who thought at first this was a dumb idea for an appliance, but reading the reviews I thought I'd give it a try.I've been using it a week now and it's definitely a winner!Cooks perfectly every time, very well thought out.I haven't tried the poacher yet but the medium eggs are great (white cooked, yolk soft). The egg holder tray is a bit tricky to clean but I give the product 5 stars. It's a permanent fixture in the morning routine and it has a very small footprint which is great for compact urban apartment living.Timer works well and is loud enough to hear from the next room.Easy to carry the eggs to the sink to run under cold water.

5-0 out of 5 stars This egg poacher is FABULOUS
I was skeptical but I have to say this egg poacher is fabulous - so easy to work and clean and gives me great eggs - well worth the $25 investment!

4-0 out of 5 stars Salton Egg Cooker
So far, I have only tried poached eggs and omlets and it did a pretty good job. Measurement of water in the heating chamber is critical as that determines length of cooking time. I do wish that it could poach 4 eggs at a time (like my old Oster) instead of just 2. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Product!
So many people don't know what they're missing! This is a FABULOUS product!I had a Sunbeam egg cooker for over 20 years, which finally died.I searched high and low for the exact same cooker and this product was the closest, well actually the same product but with improvement.I really like the automatic shut off feature. This was very important to me, as I'm not one to stand around to watch eggs cook!I like the see-through lid.If you want to watch, you can tell if the poached eggs are almost done or not. And let me tell you about the poached eggs this cooker makes - YUM!Cooks them perfectly! IF I wanted the poached egg yolks real runny, I could add less water and IF I wanted the poached eggs cooked with totally solid yolk, I could add more water slightly over the fill level. The water fill levels are easy - no measuring cups needed. The only feature I miss is being able to unplug the cord from the unit to store inside, but, oh well!
4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect eggs everytime
This is a very easy to use and functional machine. Whether you want soft/hard "boiled eggs" or poached the egg cooker does the job.Read more

Editorial Review

Kids who find egg whites repulsive and/or difficult to deal with when preparing their own scrambled eggs, French toast, and omelets will delight in this little electric gadget. It scrambles eggs inside their shells in just eight seconds. As a bonus, those scrambled eggs can be left inside their shells and hard-boiled, creating hard-boiled eggs with no yolks in the center--what a concept! Standing 5-3/4 inches high, the plastic device takes up little counter space and works so simply even a kid's parents can figure it out. Inside the device's cup is a needle set on an angle and slightly bent so it can generate a whipping motion. Push the big end of an egg onto the needle and then push down a little farther and the device (plugged into a wall socket with an included A/C adapter) spins the needle and blends the egg's white and yolk. Crack the egg and it comes out scrambled. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Should offer a ZERO star rating!
After owning several Ronco products and being thrilled, I figured I couldn't go wrong with the Inside-The-Shell Electric Egg Scrambler.Boy was I wrong.I wanted it for hard-boiled eggs.Since the kids won't eat the yolks because they are too dry, I thought **genius** here's the solution.Well, the scrambler has to go in through a hole in the shell.Well, guess what?Where the scrambler goes in, the egg comes out!once you start to boil it, the egg leaks out into the water like a cloud.Inside the shell, you end up with 1/2 an egg floating in water.Ronco's solution?Put SCOTCH TAPE over the hole. For those of us just arriving on earth, please try placing a piece of scotch tape on the porous surface of a chicken egg.I should have spent my $25 on egg salad sandwiches.
1-0 out of 5 stars Great when it works, but doesn't work long.
I love the idea...too bad the execution is so poor.I bought one of these last summer and it worked for about 2 months.Ok fine, I did get it full of egg when one shattered in my hands while scrambling. It is just about impossible to clean when that happens.
4-0 out of 5 stars Take a pill! Scramble an egg.
I have had one of these for at least 15 years! It does eggxactly what it is advertized to do. It does a great job of scrambling one egg at a time.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute, convenient, easy, but not much more
Egg cookers offer laughable convenience and ease, especially for someone like me who has never had a high success rate with boiling eggs on the stove. This machine is not particularly feature-rich, and has developed some annoying quirks in the six months I've had it. Still, it does the job, and is cute enough to leave out on the counter. I do not recommend it to anyone who thinks they will use it heavily (more than once a week).
3-0 out of 5 stars Would prefer stainless steel inside
I would have paid extra to have a stainless steel egg tray and water reservoir.I don't like the black plastic. Also, the 'chirping' sounds like a smoke alarm. My mom had an older model with a cuter sound. The eggs come out beautifully done, though, and I'm glad the tray is not made from aluminum.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easter eggs?No problem...
