AVOID this Piece of Garbage
We're on our 3rd unit in less than 1 month.The first one's display would randomly flash 12:00.The second unit did the same thing but we used it until the basket started popping out causing coffee to spill everywhere as described by other users.The third unit is 1 day old and still works but as soon as it stops, it's going back for a refund.Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time on this cheaply made, over-priced piece of cr*p.

Awful
Well, for starters, All the parts were not included for installation. Luckily, I was able to replace some of the spacers with washers from a local hardware store.
Can I give a zero-star rating???
Because I would if I could. This product earns its reputation as the worst-ever under the counter mounted coffee maker by Black and Decker. It does all the things it's not supoosed to do - no auto shut-off, it doesn't keep coffee hot after brewing, it leaks like crazy in too many instances, parts have to be painfully put in to place in a particular sequence so leaking doesn't occur... I could go on and on. It's poorly made, you WILL hate it, so just don't buy it, hoping that the reviews you read were just flukes. They're not. Spend the money on an older model, even if it's used. I bought this for my mother and Black and Decker did take it back but would not pay for shipping. I hope she didn't throw away her old one, I'm thinking about repairing it... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! ... Bad buy
I've owned my one:one pod machine for nearly 2 years now and surprisingly it's still pumping out coffee every day, the shortfall with this system is the pods. The machine itself rates a full 5 stars, made by esalton, has certainly proven to be a little workhorse. Fairly easy to clean, doesn't mind when you don't put a pod in wrong and water squirts out everywhere, it just keeps going and going, my beef with melitta is the pods. At first everything was peachy, the store where I purchased the machine always had the pods, then, supply got spotty and very few retailers carried this brand (they ALWAYS had plenty of pods for the other brands) which led me to order the pods from podheadz. After almost a year the original store started receiving a steady supply again. Now, in the spring of 2006, Melitta has started making their pods "universal", which means they fit the other brand machines, not they're own. Sure, you can stuff their pods into the machine which barely, and I do mean barely, fit. Why not stuff someone elses pods! An email to Melitta produced no answer whatsoever. Not only does it take some stuffing to get the pod into the pod holder, the pod contains more coffee, even the 8oz button produces a coffee so strong it's nearly undrinkable, and I like my coffee strong. Sure I could hang out and press the small button twice or something but that defeats the purpose of having a one button coffee machine and negates the "cup of coffee in about a minute" principal. Bottom line: Melitta has abondoned their own pod machine. My advice: buy a different machine, the the market really opening up there are plenty of better choices.

Defective and/or Poor quality
I bought mine a few weeks ago.The first week and worked fine.Now when I try to brew coffee, the unit struggles to pump water.It slows down to a trickel and then won't shut off until I shut it off.It works fine with tea pods, but bombs every time on coffee pods.
Does great tea, too.
First off I have to say I am not a coffee drinker. I don't like coffee, so why did i buy this little gizmo. I saw that it could make a cup of hot or cold tea and I am a HUGE tea drinker. I often switch between hot and ice tea during the day. I currently use a tea kettle in the morning and an ice tea maker to make ice tea. The idea of replacing both with one little appliance was very tempting. The machine makes an excellent cup of tea and does make a ice tea (with some cold water and a few ice cube). I also found that if you do not add a tea bag to the machine is will just spew out hot water for you. I have been using it for my oatmeal in the morning. It is possible to use regular teabags in the machine and actually it will take two regular tea bags. I did try making caffeine... um coffee in it and it made a drink that tasted like coffee(and that is best I can say about the coffee properties.)

PS Useful Info regarding this contraption
I have already submitted my review of this product. Buyers beware.However,if you already have one, like I do, and want to make the best of it, you might want to know a few things.
Krups can do better
This coffee maker is simply cheaply made.I had the same experience as the other reviewer -- the water level indicator is erratic and inaccurate. More to the point, however, is that the part that holds the coffee grounds, which "swings out", does so on the cheapest of hinges.Mine just fell off.It is a plastic snap-on unit with one thin metal wire that holds that part of the unit together and serves as a "spring."
BIG Disappointment
I would generally not take the time for write a review.But as a longtime fan of KRUPS products, I have to say that the FME1-11 Coffeemaker is a huge disappointment.

Flood in the kitchen
When I bought this unit the first thing I did was read the owners manual,lot of good that did me. I sat the coffee maker to start the next morning, when I went to the kitchen the floor was all wet and so was my counter tops. All most all of the water had leaked from the holding tank during the night. I cleaned everything up and tried it again, yep you guessed it another flood. I tried one more time and one but not both of the coffee pots filled. I went to poor coffee for my husband and more coffee ran out on the counter then made it in the cup. All in all this machine is JUNK.I suggest you keep looking for a better unit.

Delonghi dual coffee maker
After replacing the 3rd defective (just stopped working) coffee maker, Delonghi refused to make it good.Stating it was over a year since the original purchase.Yes, that's right 3 coffee makers in one year died.It was a great coffee maker, but not when it wasn't working.We are looking for a replacement, but won't try Delonghi again.

Bad Design
I have owned this coffee maker for almost one year and cant wait for it to die. The coffee tastes okay but it is impossible to pour a cup of coffee without spilling it. I'm glad it didn't cost much because it is a poorly designed product.

$20 a year for coffee
I am rating this higher than I normally would because of all the unfairly low ratings I see here.This machine is far from perfect, but for the price I don't expect much other than it work.

Leaks and had to get another one
Had major problems with it leaking and ended up having to get another (different brand). I was shocked and a upset because of the mess it left in my kitchen.

I almost threw this coffee maker across my living on more than one occasion due to it's extremely poor design.Mr. Coffee really struck out on this one considering they are a company that only makes coffemakers.First of all, the water filter device failed after a few uses and would no longer allow water to flow freely through it.This could have been due to the hardness of the tap water in my area but regardless, it's a filter, it's supposed to be able to be subjected to not so perfect water.So before i figured out the filter wasnt allowing water to flow I would let it brew and the water would never make it out of the resovoir and would basically just steam up and evaporate.After the entire brewing cycle I would pull the carafe out and there would be NO coffee in the carafe.After realizing it was the filter that was causing problems i just simply removed it and didnt use it.The coffee maker worked for a few days but only if you place the paper coffee filter in perfectly.Otherwise, the dripping water would cause the filter to collapse and then the grains would run out of the filter, clogging the drain and then voila, you get an overflowed grain basket with dirty, grainy water all over your counters.
So far so good and I dont understand the negative reviews
We just purchased ours this past week and we love it!!We've had glass coffee makers before and we used to waste so much coffee because it sat on the burner and burnt.Now we throw away nothing!Sometimes we wake up the next morning and there is still a half a pot left. A good 1 minute zap in the microwave and it tastes just as good as it did when it was first brewed.

Biggest waste of money ever spent
This machine worked great for about 3 weeks.Then the pump broke - customer service was useless and we had to pay $45 in shipping to send the machine back to them to get it replaced.It took them a month to return the machine to us, and they returned it broken.Oh - also - while they had the machine for repairs for one whole month - every time we called to check on it their first response was they never received it.We had to tell them how to find it in their system.Now we are attempting to return it - but so far that seems to be an impossible task.We should have paid more attention to the many negative feedback comments regarding this machine.If you want a coffee/expresso maker - DON"T BUY BRIEL!

Perfect for its job!
I bought this little coffee maker for a group of 4 people that work near me.We all love to have our coffee right there, and not in the break room downstairs.The coffee tastes fine, and the design is unintrusive.Very pleased with its simplicity.

Works fine in the office
I purchased this for my office. It works fine in that capacity. I haven't had any problems with spilling; maybe I'm just a bit more patient. The biggest problem I see is the warming plate. It keeps the coffee very hot- too hot! It will over cook what's left in the pot. Otherwise it's fine for me.

Elite EC902 Pecolator
I bought this product in Jan. 2006. I had it for 3 days & when I went to serve me coffee. It was not working, so of course I went on line w/Amzon.com. Found out what I needed to return the item(by the way it was the BEST RETURN I have ever done) so. easy.
Worked Great....for about two weeks!
Up until yesterday, this was the best little coffee percolator ever!Then I went to make my coffee as usual and plugged it in...but no coffee!It didn't even heat up the water!Looks like you really do get what you pay for :-(
