Loved it but now unhappy
I love that it is so easy to clean - just take it apart and put it in the dishwasher (especially since I hate washing dishes) but after only two washes in the dishwasher (on the top shelf even) the lettering has smudged so badly I can't read it anymore and I am unable to tell what temperature I have set the fryer for.It would be nice if they could come up with something more permanent.

Disappointing
We used this item a few times at home. It gives out a terrible smell. We could not use it inside the house. Then we used it a couple of times in the backyard. However it is so inconvinient. Cleaning is also very difficult. We pretty much never use it anymore. It turned out to be another useless kitchen electronic.
Wouldn't buy it again
Wanted this because of the way it lets you drain the oil so that the next time you use the fryer the oil is clean. That's the only good thing about it. I've had mine a few months now. The first time I used it and washed it , the writing came off the front so you can't tell where to turn the knob for the right temperature. The oil leaks out the bottom (even though I make sure it securely seated on the heating unit) and goes across the counter, can't pick it up to clean the oil up until it cools down. The handle on the basket won't stay locked and when you go to pick it up out of the fryer with the hot food in it, it comes unlocked. Disappointed
I had only used my fryer a handful of times before I noticed a significant decrease in heat. It was nowhere near the temperature indicated on the dial and I would have to increase the heat frequently just to keep cooking at a lower than desired heat. By the end of the second or third batch I have the dial maxed and it's barely adequate to get the job done. The troubleshooting guide in the manual made no mention of this particular issue. I've gone back to frying in a pan and shopping around for another deep fryer.
VERY VERY EASY TO CLEAN LIKE NEW

THE WHOLE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS FRYER IS HOW EASY IT IS TO CLEAN WITHOUT TOUCHING THE OIL IN ANY WAY. THE WHOLE THING COMES APART IN TEN SECONDS, GOES INTO THE DISHWASHER AND COMES OUT LIKE NEW.IT AUTOMATICALLY FILTERS AND DRAINS THE OIL. YOU END UP WITH A TUPPERWARE TYPE CONTAINER WITH PRETTY CLEAN OIL TO USE AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE UNIT HOWEVER IS PRETTY SMALL. FOR EXAMPLE IT MAKES ABOUT TWO NICE PORTIONS OF FRENCH FRIES AT A TIME.

Love my FryDaddy
I should have bought this years ago. Yeah, it splatters some, but so does using a frying pan. I find that if I put frozen foods (french fries, etc.) in a collander and rinse the ice crystals off with hot water a few minutes before I put them in the hot oil, they don't splatter as much.

I got this fry daddy for my mother...she just remodeled her kitchen and she has always used a fry daddy.The last one she had worked for her for more than 15 years...she swears by it.It the easiest thing to work, just plug it in and it does everything itself.It's easy to handle and it's never let us down!

Caught in Delonhi Warrantee Hell!
First: Great fryer, love the design and function. Used it for 4 months until the electronic unit started to flash error message and would not function.
Great performnce and design excellence
We purchased this because we had several DeLonghi products that have been reliable, and we needed a fryer larger than our DeLonghi Rotofryer. A Rotofryer is good for a couple of people, but its small capacity makes it hard to keep a number of guests supplied in munchies.

I love it!
I got this for christmas and I love it. It's not messy at all if you do it right. It's very easy to work and it tastes great! My friends think it's really cool and want to use it all the time. I got extra flavors of cotton candy sugar to go with it and they all taste good. It's very easy to clean up after you're finished. I recommend this cotton candy maker if you're looking to buy one.

best damn fryer on the planet
this is a well thought out product for consumer use. easy to clean, easy to use. tried others and was very disappointed but i'm extremely pleased with this one. some advice stay away from the euro-pro.

Cord is ridiculous
The cord on this deep fryer does not work propoerly. It has to be messed with everytime I use it. Then it goes on and off. This week it quit working completely. This is the 1st and last appliance I buy with a breakaway cord. The fryer itself cooks food excellent, once I can get the unit to stay on, because of this cord.

Keeps the Teenagers Happy
I purchased this deep fryer after doing considerable research on-line.I wanted one with a good capacity and that would be reliable.It has surpassed my expectations.We have been using it for over a month.The initial use was to fry chicken tenders for a large party.15 lbs. of chicken tenders were fried in no time with very little oil useage.Since that time we have fried okra, french fries, tater tots, onion petals, cheese sticks and even did fried ice cream.All have turned out very well.It holds a little shy of 1 gallon of oil.This heats up in about 10 minutes.There is an indicator light to let one know when it is up to temperature.Once frozen food is put in the oil quickly comes back up to temperature.This produces crisp foods with no oily taste and very little oil useage.It has a breakaway magnetic cord to keep it from accidently being pulled off of the counter. It cleans up as easily as can be expected.I just put the basket and the oil resevoir in the dishwasher.The food can be lowered into the oil with the lid in place.This keeps oil spatters to a bare minimum.

I've never had a deep fryer before, and the one my mother had had a lid on it while it was cooking.The storage lid for this one is made of very soft plastic...part of it melted yesterday just from close proximity to a stove burner.But it was still usable...until today, when I plugged the fryer in to re-heat it and the whole lid melted into the oil. (Yes, I did read the manual and knew better, but sometimes I'm just not that good at remembering things.) I have long been skeptical of "deep frying" at home.The smell, the mess, the smell...Anyway, I recently decided to throw a fish fry and decided it was time to invest in a fryer.The biggest issue for me in purchasing a fryer was the sturdiness of the burner stand.Besides having the ability to heat 12 quarts of oil, I also wanted a burner stand that would hold the weight of 20 quarts of beer for my homebrewing.I decided on the Bayou Classic.

This may be a great cooker, and I've heard of how great turkeys and chickens taste cooked this way.I have also heard of these units splashing hot oil onto people and animals.I didn't even open the box I just returned it.Sorry I couldn't make comments on this unit, but I'm sure used correctly it will do very well, I do not need this type of cooking, it's not worth it.

Kitchen Staple
I have had this Multi-Cooker for years, and I still love it. I started out using it to steam clams and crab legs. Then I went on to use it as a stock pot - it's great for quickly reducing to freezable size.I recently have found a great hot wings sauce (Ken's) and have been using my true-blue multi-cooker as a fryer, and it is working out great. I just love this thing.It is easy to clean up.It's light and easy to handle. It heats up quickly and has had no technical problems. I love being able to tell what temperature I am cooking on (can set degrees - not just high medium or low temps) and be able to see through the glass lid at how the contents are doing.This is definitely a kitchen must-have.

Nice in many ways
I bought this for my wife and I to use a few months ago.We were looking for something to cook in that was between the 4qt. and 8qt. size.At first I just wanted a new pot, then when I saw this I took a chance - and I'm glad I did!We use this almost every day.I have slow-cooked meats in it, cooked pasta, casseroles and soups along with dozens of other items.I don't often deep fry, but the few times that I have I have enjoyed this cooker.I especially like the extra room it offers over most "dedicated fryers".

Nice For Two Servings...
...but I am baffled as to why a good bit of the batter sticks to the bottom of the basket no matter what.I've used two different batter recipes, have thick and thin-coated the items, use peanut oil, tried heating the basket or keeping it out until loading, cook only 4-6 items at a time, always add items only when it has heated up to Ready...dunno.Other than that, it's compact, stores well, heats up fast and evenly, cooks beautifully, no spatters, easy to drain and clean, no scratches. I almost want to throw food in without the basket and then fish out with a spider or tongs.
Not big enough for a family of four
I just purchased this product, based in part on the reviews I read and because of the great price.However, it is much smaller than it appears and the single basket is tiny!One small potato cut up for fries would practically fill it. I'd give it 5 stars for looks, because it is a nice looking machine, but it just doesn't stack up to my old fry daddy for size.In all honesty, we are not even going to try it out, so I don't know how well it works.This one is going back to Amazon (thanks to Amazon for the easy return process) and we will continue shopping for something much larger to fit our large "fried-foods-are-our-friend" appetites.

Very Basic, but Solidly Built
This is a very basic, but well made machine.Many deep fryers in this price range are built very flimsy, with lids that don't close properly or brake off easily. (See how often the display model in the store typically has a broken lid !!!) This one seems more substantial, and feels like it will hold up to everyday use. One drawback is the lack of a temperature adjustment, which most fryers have, but I'll trade this for the better construction anyday.

Good Deep Fryer
I have used this frequently since I purchased it earlier this year. My only complaint is that the filters are very difficult to find. The ones linked to the Amazon page are not the ones that fit the Avante, so be careful or you may end up (like me) with useless filters that don't fit.

Lid does not stay closed
As mentioned by others, I found the lid does not stay closed.After 2-3 batches, the lid would no longer remain closed.The latches are cheap plastic as is the basket handle assembly.I do not recommend this product for safety reasons.I am returning mine as soon as the oil cools and I can remove the oil and clean up the machine.

Nice Fryer!
I recently purchased the DualDaddy fryer.I have had several different fryers in the past.I started about ten or so years ago with the original GranDaddy.It was alright, but I wanted to be able to fry more, and had seen the newer fryers that had covers while you were frying.I bought one, and it was great for frying, and the cover kept the spattering to a minimum.However, it was very pricey, and a major job to clean.If I'm going to take the time to clean something, I want it very clean.With the big ones, you have to really take it all apart to get it good and clean.The day before I bought the DualDaddy, I spent over an hour trying to get the old one clean, and finally gave up and threw it out.I really like the DualDaddy.It is a great size, and very simple to clean.In about fifteen minutes I can drain the oil, wash the fryer and refill.I bought one of those fine screen mesh spatter guards that you put over skillets for a dollar and it works great on top of the fryer.The ONLY thing I wish this fryer had was a light to let you know when the power is on and when the oil is up to temp.Other than that, I really like this fryer.It comes to about 350 degrees in under fifteen minutes, and holds it's temp. quite well.

Need to be cut to size
Difficult to get the size right when cutting to the size of your old filters. Unfortunately, there's no pre-cut option for my fryer; this is the only replacement option as far as I know.
A Must for Deep Fryers
If you own a deep fryer and do not know about these yet, chances are you really need these.Depending on how often you use your deep fryer, you could need replacements in less than a month.

Review of Presto 05464 ProFry
This is an excellent fryer.I have had another brand but like this one much better.I have grandchildren who love fried foods and this one is large enough to cook plenty.

Very Pleased
I did a good bit of research of deep fryers before making this purchase, for the price we are very pleased.When unpacking the box was a little apprehensive due to the flimsy lid however that was my only concern.We have used it several times and have been very happy.It feeds a family of four(plus friends) very easily.Do wish the thermostat went to 400 or oil would heat up faster but those are minor.

Good item at a reasonable price
Produced crispy foods quickly but be careful not to overload it.

Nice features - low price
This is a great little fryer. It cooks enough for 2 servings at a time, do not overload. It has a nice list of features. The basket is very handy, the temperature guage and ready light work well and the lid with vents and a filter help reduce the grease smell in your house. Some foods with a lot of moisture will not fry well with the lid closed and even with the lid closed you will not eliminate the odor completely. I set this up on my stove when I use it so that I'm able to use the exhaust fan as well and then I am able to eliminate all of the smell. It cleans up nicely and I'm able to store the oil in it between uses for weeks.

Use it only once after I bought it 2 months ago.
