I can't make it work and can't find any help.
My Wine Pro was a Christmas gift, and a thoughtful one because we usually open a bottle of wine every other day or more. Before throwing away the box after Christmas, I carefully cut off the directions which, instead of being on a convenient separate piece of paper as with most products, was part of the cardboard box the product came in. After fixing the suction base assembly lever that become detached from the assembly, I adjusted the height to fit the bottle to be opened and then followed the directions exactly. The spiral screw went easily into the cork when I moved the handle to the "closed" position but then, when I moved the handle back to the "open" position, the act that was supposed (according to the directions) to pull the cork, the screw unscrewed just as easily out of the cork leaving it still tightly in the bottle neck. I repeated the directions several time with no better results, and finally, since dinner was waiting, used a conventinal corkscrew to finally extricate the cork. After dinner I reviewed the directions and tried again with variations, but still no luck. I then went to the Internet to seek more information on the manufacturer's Web site, but could only find sites selling the product and none that could help me discover if the fault was with the item, the directions, or with my interpretation of them. Because of my feeling of obligation to the friend who gave me this gift, I will keep trying to figure out how to make it work, but the temptation is strong at this moment to toss it out. ...
