Great corkscrew but don't expect it to cut foil
The foil cutter feature is highlighted in the product description but does not appear on the actual product packaging. My guess is the product is not intended to cut foil...and...it doesn't.The corkscrew lives up to the expectations I have of OXO good grips. Very Solid
This is a very well made corkscrew. It's very solid and well balanced, and the gear action is smooth. Even the toughest corks come out effortlessly. When you use this, it just feels like a solid unit that will last for many years. I've had mine for about a year, and have used it 40-50 times, and it's still looks and works like new. And recorks nicely, too!
Yes, as stated above, it's a GREAT wine opener. Once you drill into your head to start with the handle in the back and pull forward, it opens perfectly every time. BUT if you leave the cork on the corkscrew, put the bottle back in and push the handle from FRONT to BACK, you'll get a perfectly recorked bottle to enjoy later! I've had mine for literally years with no trouble and never a failed uncorking. I'm back to buy one for our dock so our fellow boat buds can all enjoy it!

Nothing special. Not as pictured
I was disappointed to find that the corkscrew I was sent did not have the rubber strip across the top of the bottle opener part of the corkscrew as shown in the picture. It only has black rubber on the tips of the handles. Nothing special. Not as pictured
I'm sure this corkscrew will work adequately, however, I was a bit surprised to get one that is different from the one pictured. The head of the corkscrew, which you can use to open caps with, does not have a black rubber section, as in the picture. The one I got only has black rubber on the ends of the arms. A solid corkscrew
