Fautly suction mechanism
My wine opener worked beautifully for about four weeks.Then the suction mechanism broke.Without this, the device will not stay in place on the table and makes it impossible to use.Disappointing.

easiest puller ever
We received this for a gift, and after using it for the first time, we discovered that we never will or have had a problem pulling any cork in any wine bottle.A better mouse trap

Good Gadget
For very little money, you get an easy to use and sturdy corkscrew.

Good Grip - Too Short on Business End
I've broken a few corks with this tool, as the "worm" doesn't reach the bottom of some corks. Other foil cutters are easier to use. Like most OXO tools, this one feels comnfortable and steady in the hand. If you're opening an older bottle or one that has a particularly long cork, use another corkscrew.

This is a sturdy, handy, and small corkscrew that also comes equipped with a bottle opener and a foil cutter. Its size is excellent to keep at home or to take on picnics and trips, and its corkscrew has a sharp point that goes into all kinds of corks without breaking them, even the really old ones. Its bottle opener is very easy to use, and its foil cutter, a couple of wheels with sharp edges recessed into the screw's handle, although requiring some practice, offers a clean, safe alternative to the traditional rusty knife.

Better Than Others by a lot
I have owned a couple of this type of electric corkscrews, and this is the one I always come back to. I had one that lasted only 6 months of another manufacturer. Manual corkscrews are not for me, especially if I'm opening several bottles during an evening of entertaining.

Best I have ever owned!
I have had many different kinds of wine openers...Screwpull, rabbits etc...and nothing compares to the ease of this Cork Pop!I have the "Legacy" version.Nice looking and takes less than 10 seconds to remove the foil and open the bottle...no kidding (okay...I haven't really timed it...).This would be great for someone with arthritic hands as there is no pulling or tugging involved...not even to remove the cork from the opener...just twist and the cork is removed.It is really the most amazing opener ever!The only downside I can think of is you will have to have cartridge refills eventually...I received mine about a month ago and have opened about 15 bottles of wine and still have plenty of "juice" left in the cartridge.AWESOME! ... AWESOME corkscrew!!
I'm not quite sure what the negative reviews are about...yes,it takes a time or two to perfect getting the cork off the screw, but after you've done it it's really easy. As far as ruining the cork goes,well-I've done far worse. I have a rabbit that sits on a shelf every time because I love this one.What else can I say? Couldn't be happier,great for the money,and -as mentioned by someone else-it does get attention for being unique!
Great for real corks, not so good for neoprene
The built-in foil cutter and easy-grip handle work great, and it's nice to be able to uncork a bottle with no chance of splashing a drop anywhere.The corks remove very easily without no forcing or yanking.And you have to admit, it's pretty cool-looking.It works much better with real corks than with neoprene (plastic) corks, however; the latter are especially hard to remove from the screw once you've got the bottle open.We've put ours through five years of hard service, and while I imagine the plastic part will eventually be the bit that fails, it hasn't yet.For the price range, it's a pretty good value.

the impossible corkscrew
Order this item if you like the idea of having your blood mingled with your favorite wine. While the product's promise of ease in opening a wine bottle proves true, the problem is in removing the cork from the corkscrew thereafter. In my case, not only was I unable to remove the cork from the corkscrew (turning counterclockwise did not work, and there is no space inside the plastic chamber for your fingers to get a grip on the cork) I ended up piercing my finger in an attempt to extract the cork, thus turning wine-drinking into an unsavory and painful experience. ... Disappointing plastic simulation uses lead weight to con you
While this corkscrew does work, spray painting the cheap plastic handles to look like metal (which they do, through the transparent box) is made much worse by the lead weight hidden inside the packaging to make it *feel* like metal in the case.Very misleading packaging, I don't think it should be allowed.Two thumbs down. ... Cork Screw Failure
Unlike the other reviewers, my Kitchenaid cork screw worked fine for almost two years. It never quite pulled the cork far enough out of the bottle to suit me -- it didn't make cork pulling labor-free -- but I found it much easier than any previous such tool I ever owned. Alas, as in many of the other reviews, the screw finally broke off in a cork and the device seems irreparable. A cheap plastic cork screw had to be called into service. I just visited the Kitchenaid web page and they don't offer a cork screw for sale anymore. I presume that I will soon toss mine as well. Planning to buy one of these for $30? Clint would ask you: Do you feel lucky?

irrepairable
Like 7 of the 8 other reviews, this product broke with no way to repair it.For the price and apparent sturdiness, it is just one big failure and is to be avoided.

Broke at First, Simple rerair fixed it like new.
Like other reviews, the screw broke after six times. The screw pulled out of the base which holds the screw. I filled the base with Gorilla Glue, then let it set up for 24 hours. The cork screw has held up for at least 60 times so far and is the best working and easiest cork screw I have ever used. I think KitchenAid should fix this problem. ... Read more
