Editorial Review

The next best thing to an in-house sommelier, this professional-quality wine opener offers the same impressive performance and stylish design as corkscrews that cost far more. Made from durable, nickel-plated, zinc alloy with easy-grip, ergonomic handles, it uses metal gears to extract corks in seconds. The entire process requires minimal effort, and best of all, there are never bits of mangled cork floating around in the bottle afterwards. This MIU France wine opener comes with an extra corkscrew, an attractive presentation stand, and a foil cutter to prepare bottles for opening. This product is dishwasher-safe, and has a lifetime warranty. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Used it tonight
I am a disabled vet with one good hand, this opener can not be easier to use.A simple squeeze of the handle, depress the lever, and your wine is un-corked.Do the same in reverse while holding the cork and you have the cork intacted for re-corking.We love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite wine opener
I bought this wine opener to replace a regular corkscrew and I'll never go back. This tool is incredibly easy to use, from removing the foil to lifting the cork from the bottle to releasing the cork from the opener. In addition to its ease of use, this wine opener is also a fun tool. I bought a second wine opener as a gift, and I'll continue to give these as gifts - they're great!

4-0 out of 5 stars timely delivery, strong product
The product arrived slightly earlier than expected. The wine opener itself is heavy and sturdy, works perfectly, and came in a nice little box, with extra screws. MUCH better than the plastic one I had that broke while opening a bottle, and sadly I paid more for that one! ... Read more

This tool is far superior to any standard wine bottle opener.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Vital Piece of Equipment
Whether you're having wine for a small dinner or for a large party, the Rabbit is what you want.I saw one being used by a friend, and bought one on his recommendation.I'm glad I did.
5-0 out of 5 stars Easiest corkscrew ever!!!
I could *not* believe my eyes the first time I saw someone use a Rabbit. I've shredded SO many corks and even broken bottles trying to get corks out. I've tried so many different kinds of corkscrews (and the two-pronged non-screw-type cork-pullers), and I've been all kinds of frustrated. I'm a big and strong guy, and I've still been frustrated at how hard some corkscrews are to use.

Editorial Review

A great gift for a wine lover, this powerful, award-winning tool effortlessly extracts the cork from any wine bottle in 3 seconds with simple lever action. Handles with comfortable rubberized padding easily clamp onto a bottle's neck; the lever drives the tough worm into the cork with a push and then pulls the cork out cleanly with a simple pull. Releasing the cork involves the same action, only with the handles clamped onto the cork. Ruggedly constructed of polycarbonate and reinforced nylon, the cork puller has the heft of a fine, precise high-tech tool and comes by its name, Rabbit, because it resembles a bunny's head. Metrokane corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls; tests assume replacement of the spiral after 1,000 pulls. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Gadget
This was a surprise gift. A just because I wanted to, gift. Opening a bottle of wine could not get any easier. I don't know why this opener wasn't available sooner, it is such a great gadget. Anyone who enjoys wine should have one of these wonderful gadgets in their household. It is really unbelievable how it so easily removes the cork from the bottle with just a push of a button and then with the reverse button releases the cork. Enjoying a glass of fine wine shouldn't begin with fishing out that old souvenir opener from the back of the kitchen drawer. Like the handcuff king it's named for, the Metrokane Houdini lever-style corkscrew works so easily it practically defies explanation. The Houdini was designed by the innovative company that created the Rabbit corkscrew, and is both simple and effortless to use. Just close the side handles over the neck of the bottle, pull up, and--voila!--the cork's removed. Another up-and-down movement pops the cork off the corkscrew. Metrokane corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls; tests assume replacement of the spiral after 1,000 pulls. Made with durable all-metal gear parts, the Houdini works with any size wine bottle. Its polycarbonate handles are ergonomically-designed and finished with a polished luster. Metrokane includes a matching foil cutter and a five-year warranty. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars wine openers
Works better than the Rabbit but still requires a little stength on some corks. Very good on most bottles.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing feat of mechanical engineering
I have two of these, the Brookstone (expensive) and the Houdini (1/3rd the cost). Both work exceptionally well. The Brookstone is all metal, and will certainly outlive me; the Houdini has some polycarbonate parts, which is why I gave it four of five stars, but feels pretty solid. The remarkable thing is how easily they work -- two flips of the lever and the cork pops right out.Another flip and the cork falls off the screw. This thing really does work.

2-0 out of 5 stars Okay for a while...
This worked really well when I first got it, but it seems as though it gets harder and harder to use as time goes by, almost as if it's wearing out.And it's not when you insert the corkscrew into the wine, it's when you try to pull the cork out - it's almost impossible now.So, bottom line is - it will work for maybe a year or two but then you'll need another, which to me isn't acceptable for the price I paid. ... A great gift for wine lovers, this powerful, award-winning tool effortlessly extracts the cork from any wine bottle with simple lever action. Gripping handles clamp on the bottle neck; pushing down the lever drives the tough corkscrew into the cork, and raising the lever pulls the cork out cleanly. Releasing the cork from the screw involves the same action, only with the gripping handles clamped on the cork. For strength and longevity this model is ruggedly constructed of die-cast metal and reinforced nylon, giving it the heft of a fine, precise high-tech tool. 1-0 out of 5 stars Forget the Rabbit, buy Le Creuset
I bought a plain rabbit a couple of years ago, and though i liked it, it did, at times, take a lot of strength to get a cork out. Then it broke in the sense that it would pull the cork, but not take the cork out of the corkscrew afterward. So I went shopping for a new rabbit, and read a featured review quoting bad experience (not unlike mine) and recommending the le Creuset "screwpull".Though it cost more, I did buy the Le Creuset, and love it.It is way easier to pull any cork than the Rabbit ever was!

1-0 out of 5 stars Get the same thing for $10.00
This is a very cool product, but there are a million knock-offs out there these days, and you can get them for as little as $10.00! They are almost totally identical, they look just as cool, they work just as well, and the only thing that the knock-offs don't generally have is the fancy wooden box.Cost Plus World Market sells one for $20, and Linen N Things sells one for $9.99.Some companies just don't get the idea of appropriate pricing.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Rabbit Rocks
I am amazed at the negative reviews on the Rabbit.I've had mine for almost two years, with no problems at all.Yes, it is about time to replace the screw, as the teflon coating will wear. The only reason the Rabbit doesn't get 5 stars is that it chokes on synthetic stoppers; about the only thing that works for these is the winged-style puller. Our Rabbit does about 10 corks a week, and up to 50 in a wine party evening.Once you get in the the flow of the operation, it is a breeze. For those who have problems with the Rabbit, simply send it to me, then stick with screw caps, as most other pullers would likely pose a similar challenge. ... Editorial Review

It's another wonder of modern technology from the folks at Vacu Vin: this corkscrew stands head and shoulders above any similar model. The tiny foil cutter stores in the top of the machine--just pop it out, squeeze gently over the top of the foil, and the foil falls right off. Next, insert the cork into the bottom of the Winemaster, with all four handles in the upright position. The corkscrew inserts itself when you pull the two smaller handles down, and you lift the cork by pulling the two larger handles. The last step: just raise all four handles again to pull out the cork--no yanking or twisting necessary! For the occasional extra-long cork, you may need to perform the steps twice--but it's still far easier than other corkscrews. You'll want to open wine just as an excuse to show off this cool gadget. Tell guests they only get to play if they bring their own bottle! Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Easiest Corkscrew in the World
This has to be the easiest corkscrew in the world to use.We had been given one several years ago as a present and finally wore it out.I have to say that this new one doesn't seem as well-built as the original, and I have already had to fix it when the collar that fits over the bottles to keep the unit in place decided to come off.It was fixable, but for the price, this thing should last way longer than its two year guarantee.

5-0 out of 5 stars Vacu Vin Wine Bottle opener
Amazing tool! I gave one to a friend who runs a restaurant and it cut his "wine-bottling-opening-time" down to zip, bam, boom and it's done. I watched him ruin cork after cork and decided he had to have one of these. I wouldn't be surprised if he bought a few more. Your friends will remark about it too. Makes a great gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars We love it!
We got this corkscrew as a wedding present over two years ago, and it is one of our favorite and most used gifts.I was a bit intimidated of it at first, but once I figured it out, it was a breeze! It opens both rubber and cork with equal ease. The only problem we have experienced is that a little plastic piece of the foil remover broke off and now it doesn't stay locked in very well.Otherwise, we love this corkscrew and highly recommend it to all. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Gadget
I love this gadget!!! It's great and works really well. Plus, when people see it; the response is ALWAYS - "Wow, how cool is that?" They must have had a hiccup with production; because I had one that wasn't as solid but then I recently sent one to a friend and it is a little workhorse.....so it seems that the people that make them changed something to make sure these things last. They also have great customer service and make sure you're happy with the product.

2-0 out of 5 stars Attack of the 12 pack
Interesting little gem which actually worked for 11 times 'til I got to the end of a 12 pack of water my wife makes me drink. Then it kind' a sighed, gave a short springy gasp and died. After trying several attempts as resuscitation, I left its brushed aluminum body lay silently on the counter.I informed my well meaning spouse of the contraption's early demise and blamed it on the water.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, poor quality...
I purchased one of these nifty gadgets for my husband, who has trouble with arthritis. We were so intrigued that we immediately ordered a second as a gift. The first one opened about 18 bottles before its innards were sprung. No longer anxious to give the other as a gift, we kept it, hoping that the first one was just a dud. The second one is not dead yet, but it doesn't have long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pulltap Corkscrew
The double step levered corkscrew is a great improvement over a single step pull.I first saw this in Spain (where the Pulltap is made) and knew I had to have one.Strongly recommend this item. They come in at least two sizes; slightly longer handle. Most descriptions aren't very good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Got mines at BEVMO for $5.99 plus tax
This works great and priced regularly at $7.99 at Beverages and More (was on sale for $5.99).The easiest corkscrew I ever used was the pocket screwpull which doesn't seem to be produced anymore, just the table model.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow, what a deal

5-0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the 21st century of wine openers.
This is hands down the best way to get a bottle of wine open short of a screwcap. I will never use a corkscrew again as long as I have this item. I even take it to restaurants with me. Not only is it simple and easy and instant, it's also a neat effect that always gets attention from spectators (not quite as spectacular as the saber method but a lot safer and cleaner). The only time it's ever failed me was on German corks that are not tight enough and slide into the bottle but obviously that would be the case with any opener and those will always be tricky to get open. Bravo and thank you to the designer of this item. This is true innovation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This is the best corkscrew ever! No more struggling with the cork and manual corkscrew.
5-0 out of 5 stars It's so easy!
I added this opener to my wish list and received it for Christmas.I've always struggled with corkscrews, but I was nervous that using the needle type would take too much strength for my weak little hands. But on the first use, it could not have been easier. It was simple to slide the needle into the cork, and the only surprise was how quickly it popped out.It was actually a little startling, like popping a champagne cork. The instructions note the opener cannot be used on 1.5 liter bottles or carbonated wines, but neither of those is an issue.I was always so disappointed and embarrassed that I couldn't enjoy wine at home, because I always needed help with a corkscrew- but those days are over as I sit here enjoying my first glass of Shiraz.I highly recommend this opener to anyone who is tired of tearing up corks or hurting their wrists with a conventional corkscrew! ... I bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law who has rheumatoid arthritis. She has raved about how easy it is for her to use compared to others she has tried.

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy with second best...
Well, I don't know if it's the world's best cutter. It's straight-forward to use and a little unusual in appearance (which leads to comments during wine bottle opening ceremonies). My eleven-year-old son used it immediately out of the box with excellent results (and of course without reading the instructions). Clean cuts. A bit big for my aesthetic taste, but it does what it's supposed to do.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not for any price
My wife and I are "healthy" wine drinkers (a bottle every 1 to 2 days). We have a speed wine opener and were looking for a foil cutter to match. (Yes you can tear through the foil with the opener, but who wants that mess to tear away before pouring.)We were looking for quick cut on the foil, quick open on the bottle - fast and elegant. We've broken several plastic foil cutters, so something billed as the "World's Best Foil Cutter" sounds great, right?

My wife bought me one of these Cork Pops things, and I thought she was nuts - another TV gimmick. It sat for about 6 months unused. Then I tried it.Now, another 6 months later, I'm ordering refills.
5-0 out of 5 stars Refill me up
When I bought my Cork Pops Corkpopper, I should have bought these at the same time.Somy suggestion is to do what I did not.Especially if given as a gift.Of course I spent through mine because I used it to tease my Bird, she would do a cute whistle when she heard that burst of air. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This small 5-inch corkscrew fits comfortably in most drawers and displays the combination of function and style that Pedrini tools are known for. For durability, the corkscrew is constructed of all-metal parts and chrome-plated for a brilliant, modern shine. Double levers raise to anywhere between 45 and 90 degrees as you twist the spiral into a cork. Tight tension on the gears provides just the right amount of force when pushing down on the levers to pull a cork. To prevent bottles from cracking and wine from splashing during opening, the underside of the corkscrew is fitted with a plastic insert. This bar tool has a bottle cap lifter in its loop handle and is covered by a lifetime warranty. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Near Flawless
I've been using this model for a little over a year and it is by far the sturdiest and easiest of the lever wine openers I've tried.Cheaper models tend to break, especially when used incorrectly but this one can take a licking and keep on pulling. No problems with wax corks either.Still, I recommend you understand the instructions before trying to use any lever wine opener.

5-0 out of 5 stars This item works great!
Previously, I had only used the standard manual inexpensive type corkscrew that I received in giftbags at conventions. They got the job done, but required a lot of twisting/pulling and often deposited bits of cork in the wine.I debated purchasing this item for a long time because I was put off by the expense. After all, the money I saved by using the cheap corkscrew, could be used to buy more wine. Finally, I decided to get it , and I'm glad I did.No more twisting/turning!Bottles are opened quickly and no more bits of cork.Although the item description indicated that the box included a metal stopper, it did not. However, I called the company and received a metal stopper a few days later.I highly recommend this item!

1-0 out of 5 stars Overpriced to say the least
I strongly agree with the last reviewer- this unit is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED.I also have a all-metal zinc alloy unit that included 2 extra worms, aluminum foilcutter, stainless steel bottle stopper and pourer and gift box for $25.This one, at $150, still has a plastic body! ... Read more

Equipped with a newly designed, long-lasting screw, this famouslever-action cork puller can now open 2,000 bottles of wine uninterrupted (meaning youdon't need to replace the screw). That alone makes this a great gift for wineenthusiasts. But the great-gift factor ratchets up because the wine opener comesin a handsome black case as part of a set with Screwpull's foil cutter.Operating the wine opener is a kick. Swing the lever open, grip the bottleneckwith the handles, swing the lever closed, and watch the screw penetrate thecork. Now take the lever back to the open position, and the cork comes out ofthe bottle. As an added flourish, you can use the handles to grip the cork whileyou swing the lever open again, pulling the Teflon-coated screw from the corkand softly into the operator's hand. This tool is precisely engineered, andcomes with a two-year warranty against defects. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars SCREWPULL PRODUCT MAY BREAK A BOTTLE AT THENECK
My Screwpull caused a wine bottle to break at the neck. If the device is not perfectly aligned with the bottle, it may place too much pressure on the glass bottle. The break happened while pulling the handle up to remove the cork. It left a gagged neck which may have been dangerous.
1-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
Worked fine for about a dozen bottles, then broke.Same thing happened with one my mother-in-law bought for herself.I would not recommend.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb, but worth the money?
I love using this thing. It works perfectly.Takes up a little more room in the drawer than other corkscrews but it's flawless at extraction. But is it worth [the money paid]?? I don't think so.I found one elsewhere for half that price. ... Read more

This durable corkscrew is constructed of all-metal parts. Chrome plating gives it the brilliant shine and modern look typical of tools from this Italian manufacturer. A sharpened spiral makes it easier to pierce corks or plastic bottle stoppers in just the right spot, while a rotating ring in the center of the handle flips up 45 degrees to let you know when the spiral is deep enough within the cork to pull. The T-bar handle is comfortable for smaller hands to grip with two fingers on either side of the neck, and easy to lift and pull on for extracting the cork. True to the Pedrini name, this bar tool succeeds in both function and design, and is covered by a lifetime warranty. Read more

  • Sharpened spiral for easier piercing of corks
  • Ring on handle flips 45 degrees to indicate pulling

Editorial Review

Whether it's to keep cork particles out of expensive wine or assist the fragile-wristed cork puller, the Trilogy Table Corkscrew from Screwpull is the one of the world's most sophisticated instruments for cork removal. Not only does this clever table corkscrew take the work out of cork removal for effortless bottle opening, it now pushes the cork off the screw as well, thanks to Screwpull's ingenious new Activ-ball mechanism. To open, simply turn the handle and the screw drives into the cork's center. Turn the other way and the cork effortlessly exits the bottle. Then, while holding the corkscrew (and not the cork), turn the handle again and--voila! The Activ-ball pushes the cork right off the screw! Pinch down on the sides to keep the cork from falling, and then reinsert it with the same ease.A great device for everyone, there's no better way to shave seconds off serving time, or put the hulk-handed cork popper at ease. 5-0 out of 5 stars Without a doubt, the best, easiest corkscrew you will EVER use!
Being a wine lover, I've used all kinds of corkscrews, from your basic twist model to the kind with the "wings" to the two-pronged kind. Finally, I received the Screwpull as a gift, and my search for the perfect corkscrew came to an end! As others have said, the Screwpull effortlessly lifts the cork up, so there's no actual "pulling" whatsoever--all you do is simiply turn the easy-to-use lever at the top of the device. In almost 10 years of usage, the Screwpull has never failed to easily and cleanly remove a cork; on the rare occasions when it had trouble removing the cork on the first try (probably because I started too close to the edge), simply starting over solved the problem. Spend a little more money to buy the Screwpull, and you'll never need to buy another corkscrew again; highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Screwpull, Screwpull, Screwpull - the only thing for corks!
I have used most of their products over the years - from the original turn corkscrew to the really expensive lever models. This is a new twist (pardon the pun!) on the classic.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great if you have problems gripping, but has other problems.
I bought this because on my previous Screwpull (which I loved, until someone broke it!), I was starting to have trouble gripping hard enough to unscrew the cork, and would often need to use pliers!
