another apple slicer
You may have recalled a previous apple slicer review of mine.I enjoy them so much I can't help but review another one.It's just a lot of fun taking an apple and slicing it into eight handy and adorable little slices.Whether you use green apples, red apples, Granny Smith, whatever.This slicer will deliciously make eating apples exciting.If you're a child you can even enjoy eating healthy foods by using this product.The apple will taste better, believe me.You won't have to mess around with no silly core.Just don't go around shopping online without your parents permission.

Good with a major flaw
This devise cores and divides apples with no problem but it is a pain to clean.Where the metal folds over itself in several places there is a gap that collects bits of apple.Cleaning it with a toothpick every time I use it is a pain. Flushing it under the tap doesn't do it.

This corer's grip is slippery if your hands are wet.(How often does this happen when you're working in the kitchen?)Also, because of its thin handle, turning the tool is not as easy as it should be.

Pitted against the cherries
Rapid, efficient,sturdy and easy to clean. Must to attached to the edge of a counter and the right edge was hard to find. I hand pitted cherries for 90 minutes and completed the same number in 15 minutes with the cherry pitter.

I was inpressed.Stoner worked well on all size cherries,got all stones as long as you did not fill hopper all the way.I put 20 to 25 cherries in hoppper at a time and help direct them to plunger.You can do a gallon of cherries in about 20 minutes.

After pitting over 100 pounds of cherries in one day, I can say that the Norpro Deluxe cherry pitter met all of my expectations.I do have some suggestions:The pitter works best if the cherries are hand fed from the feeder.Be sure to depress the plunger ALL OF THE WAY to extract the pit.After 100 pounds, the small rubber diaphragm will probably need to be replaced.Two diaphragms are provided by the company.Read more

Not as simple as it appears...
I my opinion, for what it may be worth, you would be better off buying pre-stoned Olives or like the ancient Romans and Greeks, put up with the stones and serve with a side plate for them! Olives on the stone are afterall much firmer, tastier and less processed. This mangled every olive I tried to de-stone! even the firmer green variety. If you are not making tapenade then don't even bother to stone black olives because they get completely mushed. The idea is simple, the procees easy but the results are awful. I have never tried doing cherries like the other reviewer here but her testament kind of suggests it's not worth the effort. I say enjoy the cherry stones, it is naughty but it is also enormous fun spitting them out (so long as you don't litter!) I would say try other fruits with wee, wee children and teach them how to eat cherries when they are old enough, you could even plant the pit to get the child into the joys of gardening and home produced food.
Good for snacking...
I got one of these so that I could safely feed my toddlers cherries and fancy olives more easily...this pitter served that purpose very well.If your goal is to pit enough cherries for a pie or similar recipe, however, this is *not* the cherry pitter for you.I just spent an hour and a half using this thing to pit enough cherries for a cobbler - not something I ever plan to do again.Until I get a plunge-style pitter, I plan on keeping cherries in the "delicious snack" category, not in the "baking ingredient" one. ...   Apple corer
  Have only used once, so maybe I need to get more practice, but the apple core was removed before the peeler started, so I ended up peeling the apple by hand, because the remaining apple just kept turning around on the spindle.

  A Marvel
  I borrowed a friend's apple peeler and was amazed when I would peel, core and slice 10 apples in 10 minutes. Shortly thereafter my husband bought me my own. This one. It's even better. The Pampered Chef brand I'd borrowed had to screw onto the counter in a very akward manner. The suction cup on this one is secure and convenient! The other one didn't adjust to not core like this one does either. I've found no reason to not like it and find it's quality to be very comparable and in some points better than the more expensive one. I am very satisfied with it. However, because all things under the sun should strive to be better, I won't give it 5 stars.

Broke the first time I used it
Sure, it gets the pits out of the cherries.But after just the seventh or eighth cherry, the metal "stay" snapped cleanly off. This does not disable the pitting action, it just adds a step to get the cherry off the post.I am thinking of returning it just because I am annoyed that it is so poorly engineered.Otherwise, it works fine and has a lovely shape. ...
