What a great cutter!
I purchased the holiday set (same cutter, different inserts) and let me tell you, I baked over 150 cookies this holiday season (over 300 cookies if you count tops & bottoms).The recipe that it came with was excellent; although the recipe yielded more than it said it would, which was really no problem.I had no trouble with the inserts, but since I was making such large quantities, I did dip the cutter in flour after every 50 cuts or so.I think it's a great cutter and I will purchase the "everyday inserts" as well.

One-Armed Cookie Press
Just returned this HEAVY beast to the store. The single arm would sometimes flip over the rod that ratchets down to press dough, once filled it cannot be flipped back over the now extended rod. This tool has to be filled from the bottom, so you have to remove the pattern and it's holder to fill, there is no flat area or air escape on top, so you cannot rap it against the counter to seat the dough easily. You need your second hand to steady the other end, because once you start pressing this thing wants to kick out. Three out of four cookies didn't turn out well, and I was using a recipe and pattern that was identical to one I have been using for decades. I have used a caulking gun-style press for years but the plastic parts do get fatigued and crack, and was hoping this more solid model would last longer, I loved the extra ring that stores all the disks and the handle folding flat for storage is a good idea in theory.

I recommend this!
Right out of the box, this cookie press worked.I read all of the reviews before I purchased, so I was aware that the notches must be facing forward for proper operation.Besides that, use a narrow rubber spatula for inserting the dough into the tube. I followed the recipe and decreased the sugar just marginally. Ummm, ummm, good.I use it frequently for my three sons.

Wilton Cookie Press
I used this for the first time this Christmas.The directions do leave a bit to be desired, however, once you get the hang of the assembly, and figure out that the ratchet notches need to face the front to work properly you can put out your cookies very quickly. I was very happy with it once I got use to how to assemble it, but since I am a first time user of a press, I consider that part of the learning experience.Now if I can only find a good recipe to go with it, I will have it made.I read where using a nonstick pans helps to get the dough to stick to the tray and come off the press and that your dough should also be cool and stiff. ...
