Good, but could be improved
I like this thermometer, but like others I've had problems with the range - I'd say it's about 35-40 feet in my home.I don't like the fact that it doesn't alert you when it's lost a signal and I also don't like having to open the battery compartment door to turn on the transmitter.Improve those few things and I'd give it 5 stars. I wouldn't mind if the wires were about a foot longer too.

Nice shaker for one or two people
I purchased this shaker a couple of years ago and have given it a lot of use. First let me say that this is a very good shaker and performs very well. I read some of the other reviews and I have not encountered any problems with the lid sticking or the shaker leaking. It performs as advertised and is a good value for the money. The only drawback might be if you want to make cocktails for more than two people at a time. It's a bit small for that IMO but if you are mixing for one or two folks at a time, it's the perfect size. Another plus is that after many washings (by hand only), the finish has held up like it was brand new. Along with performance and functionality, it is a durable product as well.

Bought this as a gift for a friend.Am buying a different one as a gift for the same friend.There is a basic design flaw as most materials shrink when exposed to cold temperatures.The lid fits INTO the base of the shaker.Fill it with ice and cold gin and the base shrinks.Thus the lid is STUCK.You have to wait for the ice to melt and the base to warm up in order to pull off the top.That seriously cuts into the number of martinis one can consume in an evening.Not worth the under twenty bucks price. ... Perfect for timing my walks
I set the Timer for the time I want to turn around, and after I do, I set press Count Up to measure how long I spend getting back to my starting place.I can see the time of day any time by pressing Clock, so I don't have to wear a watch.The Polder 898-90 is easy to set and use, and I can see its face without reading glasses.The battery is still going strong after about 50 hours of use (in contrast to the battery of my watch, which runs down very fast if used very often).

Squeezes many Limes and Lemons
As a regular visitor to the tropics, I have purchased a variety of lemon squeezers. Most of them have been toys as opposed to kitchen tools. The OXO is a pleasant change. It does the job well, cleans with no problems and is sturdy enough that it will serve me well for years.

Exactly the right tool

Good kitchen scale, not for precision weighing
Bought the Salter 1004 Digital Kitchen Scale a few months back and have used it to weigh everything from food to a pine wood derby car.While it's not accurate beyond one quarter of an ounce, it is accurate enough for weighing sliced carrots for a stir fry. So if you are looking for a scale to weigh gold dust, look at another model.

The Whiskiest!
Unlike some of the previous, uneducated reviewers, I knew prior to ordering this item that it was not used for making Whiskey. I knew that it was for beating things, such as eggs, whipped cream, and unruly children. (The latter is an optional use - I would use the 11-inch whisk, also available from amazon, or a heavy iron spoon). In short, this tool does its job with aplomb. I enjoy whisking all manner of items, and find myself using this item when it really isn't necessary at all. Just this morning I whisked myself a milk and organge juice smoothie, and followed that up by vigorously whisking my bowl of Rasin Bran. Sure, flakes and milk ended up all over the place, but each cereal shard was coated with nice frothy milk. I have even used this whisk to create my own flavors of toothpaste, mixing the best of several of my favorite brands into one bowl and wisking it into a greenish-brown blob of tooth-whitening goodness. Overall, this whisk is superb at doing what it was meant to do, and then some. I think I may use it tonight to whisk together a bowl of chiken soup puree! YUM!

Terrific whisk for small jobs
When I ordered this whisk I was slightly unsure about its usefulness, but I did know my smallest existing whisk was too large to get into the corners of small sauce pans (with straight sides) and too clumsy for whisking a couple of eggs in a small bowl.

in order to get the vacuum to work you need to press lightly the place where it say s to press.Sometimes it does not vacuum well and need to do again.it just takes a while to get use to but it does work and the vacuum is very strong so anything other than food,eg, paper will shribble up, you need to add a firm backing for it not to curl up.

Close to Perfect
The Trudeau gravy separator is one of the best ever made.It is large enough (4 cups) to handle the fat from any roast, and is comfortable in your hand, which is key when you're making gravy.Since it's both wide and long, the Trudeau is easy to both pour drippings into and out of.This fat separator has a strainer at the tope and is relatively inexpensive.

Good machine
I only used it once, and it worked fine.Of course, I only grinded chicken breasts, which is not much of a challenge, but it appeared powerful.

Good For Making Dog Food
I grind rabbit meat and bones to make dog food. It does a great job of pulling the meat (on the bones) from the hopper and I rarely need to use the pusher to force the meat down. The cleanup is pretty easy, but you do need to oil the blade and plates prior to storage. This is the best non-commercial option if you need enough power to grind bones as well as meat.

Knife Expert Approved; Multi-Functional and Durable
I am a stage performer as well as a chef. I specialize in contortion and throwing knives (often with my feet). I use the Wusthof so much in the kitchen, that I thought I would incorporate it into my act. I throw the knives at flying fruit and vegis and perform flips with knives between my toes and fling them at my assistants. Throwing knives are usually smaller, perfectly balanced, and forged from one solid piece. They require perfect tang as well and incredible strength. Wusthof is the ONLY high-end kitchen knife that meets these requirements.

I've used this to measure my milk then add the instant pudding and mix it directly in the measuring cup with the beater. I used it as a small mixing bowl. It's a great size. I like the handle 'cuz any size hand can hold this. If you are looking to measure in 1/4 cup increments, you need to get a smaller measuring cup like the 2 cup size.The purpose of this big size is for measuring in large quantiies. As for the quality of this product.......It's a pyrex. They last forever.

The most useful thing
I bought my Vacu Vin set about 4 years ago and it's still working perfectly.It's so easy to use and it does preserve the wine flavor for at least a few days.We no longer have to finish a whole bottle in one sitting or risk a spoiled wine.I've recommended it to a few of my friends and they all say they can't live without it now.
Waste no more wine
I had ruined several bottles of wine before I tried this wine saver.By removing the air that causes wine to go bad after a short time, I am able to enjoy it and know that in a week's time it still tastes as good as when I opened the bottle.It works effortlessly and the "click" sound tells me that the air is removed - so simple and quick!! This was a great idea and it works for me.No more wasted wine.

These scissors are pathetic
OK -- I bought these because of the amazing reviews these were getting.Boy, am I disappointed.These didn't just break... they actually fell apart in my wife's hands.My wife wasn't doing anything particularly interesting with them when they fell apart.I don't think this would be so disappointing if they didn't fall apart within the first day of getting these.Get some Fiskars.
