Weber grill brush
The feature I like best is the notched metal scraper.I have a Weber and this notch fits the grill grate perfectly so it does a good job of scraping the grate.

The brushes fell out on the first use
This item is not expensive but please.......upon the first use the brass (looking) brushes started falling out.Regardless of how cheap you want to make something - It must perform its duty - this item did not.Too much headache and effort to get a replacement / refund which is usually the case with these type of items

Excellent for in the kitchen
I use this alarm in the kitchen and not for other things, so I can't comment on it in other capacities. As a kitchen timer, it's been absolutely perfect. It's easy to use and comes in two modes: an hour/minute mode, and also a minute/second mode. It's loud enough so that I can hear it anywhere in my apartment, though my apartment is pretty small. The best part, though, is that it has a magnetic backing so that you can stick it to your fridge (and it really sticks well) and press the buttons with it still on the fridge. If you prefer to not have it on the fridge, there's a little metal thing in the back that pops up so that you can stand the timer up.

It won't wake you up. It has a very soft beep, and the vibration is easy to sleep through.

Great idea!!!
I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this product, but when I got it I liked it a lot.I can see where it might burn if left pushed all the way on the handle, but I just simply slide it back towards the end of the handle, leave it there, and when I need to move or lift the pan, just slide it back down all the way on.It works like a good quality pot holder, and is a bit non-skid so it tends to grip pretty good.It fits in the hand well, and works as designed.Convenient to use with cast iron since the heat travels up the handles well, and you always need a pot holder or rag to keep from burning your hands.This is a well made product that works as intended.I'm glad I bought it.

Pretty darn good, still have to be a little careful
I got this and the Lodge 2 Piece Hot Handle Holder Set at the same time, and this product is a lot better.It's more substantial, thicker, and because it's thicker (although the same size) it fits the handle more snugly, therefore less slipping around.

Doesn'tVacuum Seal Very Well
I recieved the FoodSaver Vaccuum Seal system as a gift along with two 11" continous roll bags.They worked great but were kind of big for some of the food that I was trying to vacuum and seal so I bought the premade package of 48 quart size bags.I have had nothing but issues with those bags since I got them.They will not vacuum and seal correctly.When I make my own bag with the continious roll material the vacuum and seal works great but not with the quart bags.Even when I have tried both types on the same night, the continious self made bag works the quart bag does not.The vacuum system works well but the quart bags do not.They look and feel like they are made from the same material.The only difference is that the quart bags are about half the width of the 11" bags and they don't stretch across the whole vacuum seal area like the 11" bags do but the manufacturer does mark-off where the optimum vacuum seal area is so you can make sure your bag covers that area and the quart bag does stretch across that area but still will not vacuum and seal.I am just going to buy the 11" roll and make my own bags.

The most useful thing
I bought my Vacu Vin set about 4 years ago and it's still working perfectly.It's so easy to use and it does preserve the wine flavor for at least a few days.We no longer have to finish a whole bottle in one sitting or risk a spoiled wine.I've recommended it to a few of my friends and they all say they can't live without it now.

Nice product, but slightly thicker than expected. It is large and heavy, so you'll need two hands to carry it with a pizza on it (or maybe I'm just a woos.) Good product and otherwise serves the purpose perfectly.

Raw foodist perspective: works great for my purposes
I bought this thermometer to use it with my dehydrator. If you want a living raw food, you need to make sure that the food temperature doesn't go too high, else the enzymes start to die. However, initially is okay to use a higher temperature - you just need to lower it after you get there, and this technique reduces the drying time to half or so. The dehydrator I have doesn't have a thermometer (of course it has a thermostat), so the Taylor comes handy to measure the air temperature to know when it's time to do that. Also, it's very precise.
3 month Review
This thermometer worked flawlessly for the first 3 months, then the probe broke. Don't ask me how it broke because I cannot see inside the metal do-hicky. A replacement probe is $10-15 provided you can find one.
Some annoying features
First, when you use the temperature probe, the meat temperature shows on the display. Also, it is very easy to set the temperature alarm. However, there is a small switch that must be turned on to activate the alarm. Good for one burned roast. Granted, a mistake you will only make once.

Its a Rip off!
I wanted to have an onion cutter that would make my life easier. after buyingthis i found that it was tough to use. I had to apply all my body weight to cut onion. 2nd day , it broke.
ItWorks Well - So Far
My family makes and freezes four huge pots of spaghetti sauce every 3 or 4 months. The recipe calls for 3 large white onions to be chopped up for each pot - the most time consuming part of the ingredient prep phase. For the last batch we made, my wife pulled out this onion chopping device and said "try this". I was skeptical but willing to try anything to avoid chopping up 12 large onions. Well, it worked. I estimate it cut my chopping time in half. I thought I had broken it several times, since you really have to muscle the onion pieces through the blades, which causes a loud bang when the lid closes, but it didn't break.
Buy a good knife!
When I saw this chopper I thought it was a very good idea. It was a good idea if it had only worked as Progressive described it, or if I was 6 ft tall and worked out all the time. I have had to put this gadget on the floor and step on it with my heel to cut even a small section of a small onion through the not very sharp blade. There seems to be inconsistancies as to how sharp the blade is which tells me that there was very poor quality control in the manufacturing of this chopper. There appears to be no middle ground in the reviews. Are we all talking about the same chopper? If you have to cut the veggies into small pieces to make this work, why not just continue cutting with a high quality knife. It's just as fast if you practice a little slicing, dicing and chopping. The amount of time to clean my knife is much less than how long it takes me to clean out the little pieces of onion that stick in the blade and the plastic top! Also, the little non-skid covers on the feet have disappeared, probably into the bottom of my dishwasher.A waste of $15.00. ... Read more

Oxo tongs are great!
I use the 12 inch steel AND 12 inch nylon head tongs in the kitchen all the time. They make is very easy to open and close, easy to grip all kinds of food, easy to clean, and easy to store. I use the 16 inch steel tongs on the grill with all the same praises.
My favorite tongs
I've been cooking a LONG time, some 30+ years and these are my fav's. The nylon head holds up in the heat, just don't abuse them by leaving them in the bottom of a flaming hot pan, come on use common sense. And I love the quick/smooth reacting tab to open the tongs. I bump them against my knee or the counter and they open neatly, not snapping open like others. AND I like how they close, very, very easy to pull with your teeth. I know that sounds weird, but you'd do it too! It is gentle and I like using both hands for...whatever. They handle like...a BMW.Enjoy!

As I always do, I did lots of research on electric can openers before buying the West Bend.I have a manual side opening one made by ONO which is also great, but since I open at least 6 cans of dog food/day, I wanted to go electric.
Very sexy
This is a gorgeous appliance.It cuts nicely and is easy to work with, however, I dislike how tightly the magnet holds onto the lid.I have to hold the piercing handle with one hand and remove the lid with the other to avoid being cut.

another apple slicer

Good with a major flaw
This devise cores and divides apples with no problem but it is a pain to clean.Where the metal folds over itself in several places there is a gap that collects bits of apple.Cleaning it with a toothpick every time I use it is a pain. Flushing it under the tap doesn't do it.

a big disappointment
I have arthritis in my hands, so opening jars is painful for me.We bought this as a Mother's Day gift, and it worked well about 4 times.Although it never did open large jars. Then it stopped working at all.It's bulky, takes up too much space in my kitchen -- all in all, a dead waste of time, energy, money, and space.A big, big disappointment.

Nothing like Pyrex

My only complaint is that they identify themselves as `mixing bowls' and are really all too small to do any real mixing in. I've never had bbq tools before but needed to spend one more penny for free shipping and thought these would be useful.When they came, I was overwhelmed by their size, but now that I've used them, I love them.It's amazing to cook on the grill and not singe the bottoms of my arms!What an idea!These are well-constructed, perform flawlessly, are easy to clean and make me laugh every time I use them.

can't handle super hot temps but it can't rust
My hand me down metal funnel has rust along the seam where the blacksmith smelted the metal sheet together to form the cone.

Very Nice
Was very impressed with the funnels-when put in container to pour liquid you don't need to worry about it tipping and you can use both hands for whatever you are pouring instead of having to worry about holding the funnel in place.

Fast for marinating....
I have only used it a few times so far but it has always worked well. I do only hand wash it after reading previous reviews so that could be helping it stay in good shape. It seems like I never have alot of time when I am ready to grill so this product works well for time saving. It gives the meat great flavor in a short amount of time marinating.

Great concept, but canister needs to be redesigned.
I have had four of these, and three have failed.The first two developed cracks, and I suspect that the dishwasher, in which I only washed the bottom part of the marinator as advised, warped and weakened them.After buying two more, the first two having been relegated to the potting shed as seed-starters, I have handled them with kid gloves so to speak, (no dishwasher), and the seal on one fails to hold for even a few hours.So far, so good with the fourth one.Whoopee. These are not cheap items, and even if they were less costly, a 75% failure rate is quite unacceptable.If they really functioned as they should, they would be fabulous for not only marinating in short order, but storing other items as well.All the round canisters and the wide-mouth jar sealer work exceedingly well, but I'll not buy any more "marinators" until there is a successful improvement in design.

Unhygienic lid design!!
I loved this cup when I first purchased it. I'd scoured the internet and stores for a no-spill thermal cup, and thought I'd finally found the perfect one. However, after a few months of use, I noticed I could hear liquid trapped in the lid. If I shook the lid violently, I could get out some drops of the trapped liquid, but never all of it. I also noticed that the the lid would smell awful at the end of a day's use and really demanded washing immediately after use (which in my mind, defeats the purpose of the "travel" mug).

Hard to clean
The cap may seal well but the trade-off is that it's hard to clean.I noticed coffee crud building up in hard to reach areas.After cleaning it, I couldn't towel dry the inside parts andthe water almost never completely dried because no matter what angle I left it at, the water formed a little pool that wouldn't evaporate overnight.Each morning I could shake the cap and hear & see water droplets. I suppose a blast from an air compressor might have done the trick.Anyhow,I threw the mug out today after I noticed bits of something coming out of the cap.I think it is coffee scum buildup, but my wife says its rubbery (is there a hidden gasket?)I recommend looking elsewhere for a simple, easy-to-maintain, keep-my-coffee-hot thermos.It might not seal as well, but it probably won't put dried coffee remains in your favorite drink. ...
