A great bottle... with some minor annoyances
This is a great bottle.
Doesn't fit in a Honda Civic cupholder
I like pretty much everything about the bottle -- except for the primary reason that I wanted it, which was to use while driving in my 1997 Honda Civic. Admittedly, the Civic has a poorly designed cupholder, but I figured that one of the beverage containers in the Nissan line would be import-car-friendly. Nope. The bottle is way too tall for the Civic cupholder.

I STAND BY NISSAN PRODUCTS
There is saying that goes, you get what you pay for and in this case it is true.Sure, there are other sports bottle that are less expensive but they do not get the job done correctly.I don't drink soda but I love seltzer water so when I saw that Nissan made a carbonated bottle, I was ecstatic.The 1 pint carbonated bottle is the perfect size, not too big but small enough to fit in a car cup holder.

Not bad if you like your coffee black, but not great either
I give this three stars because it keeps the coffee warm, and when I first got it, it made pretty decent coffee. Unfortunately, the press part has stopped reliably staying put at the end of the plunger, and so it often doesn't depress fully--the plunger depresses all the way, and the press slips. In addition, if you want to add either milk or sugar to your coffee AND drink it from your travel mug, you should get a different sort of travel mug. It hadn't occurred to me before I bought it, but not only is adding milk to the coffee difficult w/ this mug, it ends up tasting odd, perhaps because of the press, or because of the grounds still in the mug. So, if you drink your coffee black, like the french press method, and are willing to take yourchances with the plunger on this, it may be worth the money. I wouldn't get it again.

Consider before purchase:
This is supposed to be a travel mug. The closure for the drinking lip attaches to the mug lid with a tension, two bar slip in slot.In three weeks of daily use the closure came off at least three times per day and finally is lost. A minor bump dislodges the closure.I wasted my money.

I had read the reviews and still ordered this cup.The first one we received, the pop top was broken.The second one lasted a week before the screw top wouldn't stay on anymore.

Best mug ever
AARRRGH! I lost my Nissin mug after thirteen years of perfect service. Dents and dings new O-ring and all, it's gone. I wish I had a picture of it to show the abuse that it withstood, and it kept coffee warm for hours. Now I have to get a new one. For those of us that like things to serve their purpose and don't care about fancy flashy lights and gizmos, this is the best mug ever.

Great, long-lasting product
After getting fed up with cheap travel mugs (leaky tops, limited ability to keep coffee hot), I splurged on the Nissan mug several years ago.Hundreds and hundreds of commutes later, I can't say enough good things about it.The only days I'm disappointed are the ones I forget my Nissan mug at work and need to make due with a lesser mug.It is true that the base does not fit in most car drink-holders; not a problem for me, but could be a deal-breaker for some.Also, I don't use the sipper lid, so I can't speak for that.But if you're looking for a rugged, leak-proof container to transport your 15.9 oz of java and keep it hot for hours, you won't do much better than this item.

can't leave well enough alone
I can't leave well enough alone so I cut the handle off my mug, cleaned up the edge, machined a steel caribiner flat and silver soldered it on.I also covered it with safety orange reflective tape and I can always find my mug.No one else would want it.It's been great for almost 10 years now.

Best on market despite drawbacks
It's more compact and lighter for its capacity than everything else. In fact, it's not much heavier or bulkier than a Nalgene! I've bought three of these for myself (I lose things) and five for friends over the years.

This is the best vacuum bottle I've ever had.It keeps hot or cold beverages at the desired temperature longer than other bottles, has a large openning so ice cubes are easy to insert, and it does not leak.

Stylish Travel Mug, functionality is bad
Brought two of them. Like the design very much, however it does not work well at all. It is hard to drink your coffe/tea with the cap on. Anyway Bodum design is nice but this is the worst product I ever brought from them.

Do Not Buy This Mug!
This is the worst coffee mug I have ever used.The lid does not fit properly and the coffee leaks all over you.The handle was so poorly conceived and cheaply attached that it came off the very first day I used it.Stay away from this one!

I've owned this exact cup for 5 years now; use it at the office.Coffee is still warm (not hot) after 4 hours!This must be truly vacuum jacketed.Once in a while the o-ring doesn't seat right and leaks as other reviewer said, but you just have to try again or clean the o-ring.One design flaw is lid does not have a sealable hole for driving.If you tip it over full, a fair amount will come out before you pick it up.I suppose a compression fitting type lid would also be better than a screw in typel.I'm looking for one for my wife now. ... Pretty Good Product
Pro:I bought this for my wife because she wanted a mug to keep her coffee warm for hours and because it looked more heavy-duty than the cheap one I have.This product does this well.The stainless shell is fine and should last.
Cleaning the mug..
If you have a problem keeping it clean, fill the mug with hot water and put a Tea-spoon of dishwasher detergent(Cascade, etc.) into the mug and let it sit for several hours. This will clean the ring and make the stainless steel look almost new. Remember you must do this at lest twice a month to keep it that way...Good luck it worked for me and I've had my Nissan travel mug for over 11 years now. I got mine at Sharper Image when I first visited Honolulu, Hi. for a business trip...

Could be great, but ends up just OK
Pros:it will keep your drinks warm for hours even without preheating; will also keep your drinks inside the mug as long as you don't turn it horizontal.This mug is not totally leakproof so don't expect it to be.It really isn't too hard to clean, but I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher.

I liked the mug's look, feel, & size. Then I took a drink of java from this mug... I never could get a lip lock on this mug. The rim is very thin & very wide. It would always spill a couple of drops on my shirt. Nissan mugs have what I call a "lip ledge" that prevents the "dribble" effect to which the Bodum is prone.
