Poorly designed but not all bad.
When I purchased this, it had far better reviews.The biggest complaint was that it didnt keep the coffee hot.However, Ive found that the coffee will stay hot for hours as long as you dont leave it sitting on the coffeemaker.This is due to the position of the lid when the carafe is in the brewing position.The lid is pressed down slightly when its brewing and releases heat.Removing the carafe after it finishes brewing alleviates this problem.
This is the worst coffeemaker I ever owned even though it's the most expensive I've ever owned.
I had great hopes for it.First, the filter basket arrived with a broken piece due to poor West Bend packaging so I had to go through the hassle of returning the entire coffeemaker.Once I started using it to make coffee, it started to periodically run over - usually because the coffee shoots somewhat sideways out of the cone and doesn't go into the pot but rather out over its side.I have tried every imaginable thing in terms of finer and coarser grind of the coffee, etc.Finally put a cookie sheet under the entire coffeemaker so at least it doesn't run down the front of the counter and onto the floor.Forget using the timer feature - who would want that mess developing before you woke up in the morning?I am normally an easy to please person who has reasonable expectations for products, but this is a dud.I suspect the favorable reviews of having been entered by West Bend employees.

Doesn't stay hot!
I wanted a thermal carafe pot so I could brew coffee once in the morning and have it stay hot for at least a few hours but this does NOT keep the coffee hot for very long even if you take it off the base to keep the closure sealed. Perhaps the coffee maker doesn't brew it hot enough in the first place. Warming the pot first helps but not enough and isn't practical if you like to use the timer function. I also have a complaint about the lid because it is hard to get all the liquid out when you're washing it. Spend the extra money and get a better machine! ... Read more

Very pleased with this oven

Pleasantly surprised
I had been searching for a coffee maker with a built-in grinder and even went as far as purchasing a Cuisinart for $150.00, which I didn't care for and returned.There aren't that many coffee makers out there with the built-in grinders, so I decided to give the Sanyo a try.I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at how hot the coffee was (compared to the Cuisinart) and how delicious.I was a little bit disappointed in that I thought the grinder automatically ground the coffee and brewed it, but got over that quickly, since everything else was so great.I also would have preferred the coffee maker been in black rather than the dark gray color, but again, it is a minor flaw to me.All in all, for the money, I don't think there is a better coffeemaker out there with the features it has for the low price.Buy it!Patricia Davis in Cave Creek, AZ

Poor Quality
The pitcher is made from poor quality materials. We have two pitchers and have never washed them in the dishwasher. In less than a year, both pitchers cracked along the seam that runs from the spout down the side of the pitcher. If we attempt to use them, tea immediately leaks all over the counter. Since other pitchers are not compatible with the machine, our ice tea maker is useless. We have owned two previous Mr. Coffee Ice Tea models in the past ten years. The pitchers lasted for several years before eventually cracking. Mr. Coffee chose to use inferior materials with this model. I am very disappointed in the quality and will never trust their company again. I am now searching for an ice tea maker that uses quality materials.

Iced tea is essential to summer living in Texas.Our old pitcher cracked after long usage. Beautiful, but Does Not Keep Coffee Hot
I'm so disappointed with this french press. I preheat the press with hot water, and brew the coffee for 5 minutes. The Bodum stainless steel press I have then pours coffee that is piping hot. I bought the Frieling press for my office because I thought it was so great looking. I'm just baffled by the fact that the coffee is lukewarm after 5 minutes. It seems that a lot of air can escape from the spout. The Bodum lid is designed to block air from escaping through the spout. The Frieling lid is not. No one else has mentioned this problem in their review, so I'm confused. It seems like a huge design flaw.

A disapointment, it lasted just two years
This percolater makes great coffee and I was very happy with it until it broke within two years. Actually the first thing that broke was the little plastic knob on the top. I called the company and they were very nice about it. They quickly sent me a replacement part. I thought, what a great company. Then when it would not work one morning just a little over two years after I bought it I called them again. They explained that it was no longer under warranty (I think I missed the warranty term by a month or two.) They offered that I could purchase a refurbished one from them for about half the price of the original (I paid about $70.00, a refurbished one was, I think, $35.00) but it came with no warranty and I'd have to pay shipping. I was very, very disappointed. Thankfully, I had my old drip coffee maker in the attic. I pulled that out and have been using it although it does not make as good a cup of coffee as this percolator did.

I purchased this coffee maker and it is the best I have owned. The best thing is I only paid $23.99 for the coffee maker. What a deal!! So what, if it only lasts a year or two.

Keeping it clean
The GoldTone Filter is easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to appreciate.Not only is the filter easily cleaned--only a few sprays from the faucet cleans the grinds from the filter itself--but the filter allows for a smooth taste without losing any boldness or distinctness due to over-filtering.
Great all around filter
The filter is great for most grinds of coffee. I do grind mine a little more fine than most and unfortunately I do wind up with a minor amount of "mud" at the bottom of my cup. If you grind your own coffee stick with a more course grind and this filter is excellent!

Works better if you use the right size!!
This filter works as expected...It has all the benefits of a coffee filter without the downfalls of paper. Earlier reviewer unfairly rated this item without noticing the fact that the coffee maker they were trying to use it in clearly states that it uses a #3 cone filter. Carafe Lid had a defective lid
This is my 3rd carafe replacement. The first two cracked under pressure. (Thin walls cracked when washed). This one had a defective lid that falls off whe pouring the coffee. I still love Krups coffee makers and hope that the next carafe I order is not defective.

Orininal one was Great - This is Junk
I am the only coffee drinker in my family and had a Brew N' Go for over 6 years when the mesh filter began to separate from the plastic.Unfortunately, Black and Decker changed the design and I was unable to find a replacement filter from them or anybody.I looked for a replacement single cup coffee maker in several retailers and finally found one on Amazon at a very reasonable price.
Disappointing product
I agree with other reviewers - the grounds overflow problem is a BIG problem - they go everywhere!The only thing I've found that helps is (1) be sure the top is tightly closed before brewing, and (2) switch to a heavier grind of coffee for less "float".The permanent filter is only good if you like LOTS of silt in the bottom of your cup.I tried the largest grind available, and still there's plenty of silt.I'm glad to hear others are buying #1 paper filters - I'll try that.Don't bank on this product being something Black & Decker will stand behind - I've talked to them once on the phone, and written online once, and they aren't able to help, nor do they even acknowledge the product shortcomings.They actually seem surprised at its flaws!I wish they'd have told me about the paper filters - that would have solved much of my complaints.B&D has farmed out production and service to another company who simply puts the B&D name on it.My best advice - rule this one out, and try something else.There has to be something better.

This brew 'n go was the perfect size for my office; small enough to fit on a small table next to my deck & wall. Also, I didn't like having to clean the permanent filter so I started using the #1 size disposable paper filter and it works great.The main reason I bought this brew 'n go was because of the auto shutoff after the coffee is made. I couldn't recommend this grinder more highly.It is solidly constructed, and the manufacturer took the time to add all the little details that are missing on cheaper models, like no-slip feet and a retractable cord (which is a little short, perhaps the one negative to this otherwise perfect product).The stainless steel grinder bowl is well designed - it has gradiated markings to let you know how many beans to put in for the number of cups of coffee you intend to brew, and it perfectly grinds the beans to your desired coarsness.In addition, it is removable AND dishwasher safe, making for easy cleaning.

Seems excellent... but cheaply made.
I bought this coffee maker for my dad for Christmas.It made excellent tasting coffee, and was very easy and simple to use - especially for someone who has a hard time figuring out new gadgets & electronics.
weak coffee; brews too fast
I agree that this coffee maker brews coffee too fast.For 6 cups of coffee I need to use 6 heaping tbsp of coffee, where in my previous coffee maker I could get by with 3 or so.My wife also noticed that the coffee was very weak the first time she used this coffee maker.So maybe we'll use it just when we have company, but for now I guess I'll keep using the free 4-cupper that I got with Gevalia coffee several yrs ago.

Better than Douwe Egberts
This order came practically before I finished paying for it!The coffee flavor is delicious, and the fact that it makes an 8 oz. cup rather than a 4 oz. is even better!The pods are individually sealed in foil, which keeps them fresher.Just a helpful hint, though...I wasted a couple of pods by putting it in the 'double pod' Senseo holder...it came out watery...thought there was something wrong with the coffee maker.Then I put it in the 'single pod' holder, and it was perfect!

not quite enough coffee per pod for advertised 8oz brew
the main issue with these pods would be that there's not quite enough coffe in one pod for the advertised 8oz brew of coffee.they expect you to make an 8 oz brew with their single pod as opposed to 2 Senseo pods, which end up having significantly more coffee to brew from than their only slight larger single pod.the result is very watery coffee--well, almost tasteless.to remedy this, instead of placing their single pod into the 1pod holder, place 2 pods into the 2pod holder for an 8oz brew which makes a more tolerabe coffee in terms of strength.
