1-0 out of 5 stars Worst coffee maker ever
This thing takes an hour to brew a pot and makes the biggest mess ever. The coffee is weak and it is impossiable to clean.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Strong enough...
My husband and I are from Seattle, where we take our coffee very seriously. This product proved to be tempting with it's built in grinder/timer (the fresher the grind the better cup of coffee). However, we have found this feature to be sub-par, as the grind isn't adjustable, and it tends to be too large, therefore not emitting enough of the coffee flavor. We have just bypassed the whole grinding option, and gone back to grinding our own...and now the carafe just broke!Buy something else.

1-0 out of 5 stars THESE BREAK DOWN! NO WONDER THEY'RE REFURBISHED!
I have purchased and used 4 of these Cuisinart machines. Although I love the ability to have fresh ground coffee in the morning, they ARE difficult to clean--too many parts to take out, clean and put back every day.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great idea, okay product
I have had the same problems many other reviewers have.Too much water makes a weak cup of coffee.Using 1 1/2 scoops and the 1 cup button on my Senseo I get an okay cup of coffee.I like the fact that it gives me the option of brewing a lot of flavors with my Senseo.I thought I would save a lot of money, not having to buy the expensive pods, but I end up using so much ground coffee to get a decent flavored cup it pretty much equals out.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth purchasing
I normally buy my coffee pods from coolbeans and decided to give this a try as I had run out of pods and I had family over.
2-0 out of 5 stars Could work better.
I folowed the instructions and found that the coffee was very weak so I experimented with differint grinds and filter no filter. I found not useing the paper filter and grinding the coffee expresso and stoping the water when it starts to look pale makes a med. strong cup. A lot of work for a decent cup. I still think that my old krups drip makes a great cup. I will keep trying other alternets to the pods becous there very expensive. I am waiting for some one to start manufacturing a home pod maker. that you can fill & seel at home. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Large enough to grind up to 2-1/2 ounces of coffee beans (enough for 12 cups), this powerful grinder ensures that freshly ground coffee is quickly available, even for big coffeemakers in the office. The details are what make this grinder exceptional: The lid is transparent for monitoring the grind, and has two down-pointing ribs to guide beans toward the blades for even grinding. The design of the stainless-steel blades, combined with the 150-watt motor, means beans can be ground quickly without overheating and spoiling the coffee's taste. For safety, the grinder will not work unless the lid is securely in place and locked down. Finally, the power cord wraps around the grinder's bottom for neat storage. Clad in elegant black , the grinder carries a one-year warranty against defects. Read more

Features

  • Grinds beans for up to 12 cups of coffee
  • Powerful 150-watt motor provides quick grinding without overheating
  • Graduated measuring scale on transparent lid
  • Stainless-steel blades; safety on/off switch and cord storage
  • Measures 3-3/8 by 3-3/8 by 7-1/2 inches; 1-year warranty

1-0 out of 5 stars Nice Machine but Bad Options
These machines are great, unfortunately the coffee used in the Douwe Egberts pods is horrible. I was going to get rid of my machine until a friend brought over some different pods. I suggest spending a little extra money and buying quality pods - the difference is markedly different. I personally buy mine from www.familyroast.com as they have a cool story but lots of people are making pods that fit this machine now. For what its worth - I hope it helps.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Deal, Great Product
I love these pods for my Senseo coffee machine. One grocery store near me sells these (the others do not) and they only have two choices of flavors, so I was really happy to see all the options here.I love the Paris (vanilla) and the Vienna (Hazelnut). The Vienna is a little stronger coffee flavor, which I like, but some may not.My husband prefers the Paris, and we buy the mild roast for every day.The medium is too dark for my husband, and the mild is very smooth and just right. The price on Amazon is much, much better than buying them in the grocery store as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Home Cafe
I can't live without my Senseo, but you can get the pods much cheaper at Target. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing for the money
I wanted to enter the world of espresso at home without spending a bundle.I figured if I used it a lot, I'd upgrade to a better maker later.I decided on this model after reading reviews here and elsewhere.I've had this model for about a month now and I love it.It is simple to use and simple to clean and makes good espresso.
5-0 out of 5 stars For the price it perfoms wonderfully
I have had this machine now for about 7.5 months and it is just beginning to show signs of breakdown BUT it still functions adequately and with the proper amount of finagling produces almost the same espresso it made when I first purchased the machine. But let me preface the following review with the fact that I ran this machine ragged.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the money
Ok, it's not the swankest machine on the market - but I got it for my birthday and I have to admit it does a good job. I worked in a coffee shop as a barista all the way through college and have used some beautiful Italian machines. This isn't one of those - but it makes a good shot of espresso from both the ground coffee and the pod with a decent crema (make sure to tamp it down really well). To all of those out there who are complaining about the temp, remember this is a pump driven machine not a boiler so if you want it hotter, hit the froth button for a few moments to increase the temp, but remember that can also scorch the coffee.

1-0 out of 5 stars Cup leaks
Cup leaks out of the top closure part. I need one that does not leak at all, most of the time my hands are full and it's a balancing act. Very disappointed for this amount of money it is not worth the aggravation.

3-0 out of 5 stars Keeps it hot for hours - if you don't mind a funny taste
I got this mug about 4 months ago.I must say that I'm amazed at how long my coffee or latte stays hot. It's hot at least 4 hours after I make my cup in the morning. My only problem is that when I pour a latte or mocha into it, it has a funny taste.Straight coffee doesn't have that problem - it tastes just like drinking from a mug.Lattes however taste very different.I've tried cleaning it with anything I can think of and it still leaves this weird taste.Hopefully I can find another mug for my lattes that keeps them hot, but doesn't leave a funny taste. This mug isn't it.

5-0 out of 5 stars No leaks and hot coffee!

4-0 out of 5 stars love it!
This little item has brought great joy to my mornings.I had been using a little bialetti moka pot for my morning coffee and adding milk from the fridge. The Mukka Express is a bit more effort, but is more than worth it.As other reviewers have revealed, it is not foolproof (the reason for the 4 star review). There have been 2 times (in over 30 uses) when it leaked.Unfortunately, when this occurs, you have to start over (much hassle). There have also been a few times when it has not produced much foam (still good, though. I think this has to do with how well I've cleaned it). But, on the whole, the end-product is just as promised - a good strong latte with a lot of foam.Because there's milk involved, it does take a bit longer to clean than the regular moka pot. But, it is not too much trouble for the joy of a good cappuccino at my own kitchen table.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's wonderful. Clean well for happiness.
The mukka Express rocks. But there are some small tips:
1-0 out of 5 stars Save your money
I've followed the instructions carefully each time. About 1 time out of 10, I have a decent cup of cappuccino. The rest of the time, I have spills (despitetightening the pieces carefully) or just steamed milk. It's a pain to clean up as well. I recommend saving your money and buying a better quality product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little tool
I just got the Aerolatte this morning and am blown away with it.Everyone should have one for mixing, and foaming milk.this helped produce the perfect cup of coffee in the kitchen, I ordered a French Coffee Press with it.Boiled the water, grinded the beans medium grind then steeped the beans and water for 4 mins.Poured it in the cup then used the aerolatte to foam the milk.Poured it in and created a cup of coffee that was so smooth it would go with any meal.the milk added such an extra creamy dynamic to my morning cup.I thoroughly enjoy this little device, it has power to spare! Be sure to put it back in the case after using it.

Editorial Review

Perfect for preparing coffee at home before dashing out the door, this coffeemaker brews through the lids directly into either one or both of the 14-ounce travel mugs accompanying the machine. The stainless-steel mugs have rubber, nonslip grips, fit most vehicle cup holders, and are 6-3/4 inches high, with 2-5/8-inch-diameter rubber bottoms. Lids keep coffee hot in the mugs and are deeply indented and sloped toward the drink hole to contain spills. Both mugs and their lids are dishwasher-safe. The coffeemaker uses disposable paper filters (two included), automatically shuts off after the brewing process, and can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, the coffeemaker measures 13 inches high, 5-1/4 inches wide, and 8-1/2 inches deep, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, with 2 qualifications
My Two-to-Go has been working for over two years, making at least one cup every day. It is fantastic, with two qualifications: 1. Throw the cups that come with it in the trash and use a Starbucks thermos-cup. It keeps the coffee hot for hours. 2. Don't try making 2 cups at the same time. Having thrown the original cups away, I only have my one Starbucks cup anyway.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
We love our coffee and our very picky about what kind of maker we use, but when our machine broke down and we needed one in a hurry we picked this one up on sale. We've had it now for THREE YEARS and never had any real problem with it. It heats the cold water up so well we have to give it a few minutes to cool before we lid it or we can't drink it for an hour without burns.
5-0 out of 5 stars This thing is great!
OK, I admit, I did not buy it for myself - my husband bought it for me and it sat for a long time before I used it.But when I figured the thing out I LOVED it!I am so sorry for all of you that lost your coffee maker after just a few uses.I am also sorry it does not fit your "cleaning" requirements.I am very sorry for all of you that had the "coffee explosion."Mine has worked twice a day for a couple of years now with only one coffee explosion and no other problems.I am going to order another one so when my little coffee maker does finally give it up I will have a replacement. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great product, easy setup -- but make sure its compatible with your printer
It's rare to buy a wireless network product and have it up and running successfully in just minutes. But that was my experience with this Netgear wireless print server.
5-0 out of 5 stars Quick setup on two PCs and a Mac G4
I needed a way to hook an old Dell desktop, an old IBM ThinkPad, and an old Mac G4 to an old HP Laserjet. The newest piece of this hardware is three years old. My router is a new Belkin N1 (which I really like) and it's located upstairs. Initial configuration of the print server and setup on the first PC took about 20 minutes, setup on the second PC about 5 minutes and setup on the Mac about 20 minutes. Here's what I did:
4-0 out of 5 stars Works great once your network can find it
I would not have got this thing working if not for Hooper's review below.I too use MAC filtering and so I added the MAC address on the box to my list -- nothing. Then I remembered having seen something to this effect in the reviews here when I was researching the device.Once that was done, the rest worked flawlessly.Would have been nice if the installation documentation acknowledged this fact.

We used the thing to death...literally. Used it daily. Loved it when it worked, but 6 months later the water tasted funny and the heating element started putting off this wretched smell that wouldn't leave the air. So we tossed it, and now we're on the search for another one. But finding one this size and as pretty isn't easy.

On the plus side, the kettle boils water quickly, it's inexpensive, and the overall design is clever. Unfortunately, a couple of problems with this item may force me to abandon it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm boils water....but
I only gave this 2 stars because the filter keeps falling off and without it securely in place and the lid shut just right it doesn't turn off!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars $100 Down the Krupper
I bought this on a friend's recommendation that Krups makes good products. This was apparently not one of them. It will make espresso - sometimes. The power is on, the indicator is lit, but nothing happens. Sometimes if I fiddle with it for 10-15 minutes, it will mysteriously come on. This morning I didn't have time for that so I gently placed it in the trash and went to a coffee shop. For $100 I could have gone to that coffee shop 25 times, which is more than I got out of this piece.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fine coffee and espresso maker
We replaced a Krups espresso machine and seperate coffee maker with this machine. Both had served us well, and so far, this one has as well.It is a rather large unit, deep, and sticks out quite far on the counter. That is my only, minor, complaint.Coffee and espresso both are great with the machine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great coffemaker for the price
I love this coffeemaker. It is quiet while it brews and takes only a few minutes to make an entire pot.I don't use the cappacino portion too often, but I like having only one machine on my counter instead of a coffemaker AND a cappacino machine. This is a very nice product.I would highly recommend it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Iced Coffee
I have been using the Toddy Maker over 10 years, after I moved south for awhile.I was introduced to iced coffee and the cold brew method by a friend in Grad School.I have been hooked ever since. It is very simple to use and tastes much fresher than the concentrates you can by in the grocery.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great coffee but tepid
This system easy to use, produces outstanding if not superior coffee.I give it 4 stars because I cannot take this great coffe with me in a thermos. It's an inherent characteristic. The recommended procedure is to combine 1/3 uber coffee (what the Toddy system produces) with 2/3 hot water.I agree this produces a wonderful cup of coffee. However, 1/3 refrigerated liquid and 2/3 just off the boil water produces a tepid product that is great if you want to drink it now but is too cool to spend half a day in a thermos.Again though, one great cup of coffee.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Coffee EVER
I had switched to tea because I could no longer tolerate regular brewed coffee. The acid was tearing up my stomach.A friend suggested Toddy because of low acid content.I was hooked immediately.Once you try it you will never be able to stand a brewed cup of "acid" again. The coffee tastes great no matter how many times you reheat it. The best cup of coffee you will ever drink! ... Read more

Editorial Review

When the aroma of freshly brewed coffee--from freshly ground beans--wafts into your bedroom in the morning, you won't need your alarm clock. Preset this coffeemaker for your desired wake-up time, add coffee beans to the grinder, and in the morning the beans are ground to a medium grind and hot coffee awaits in the 10-cup stainless steel, double-wall insulated thermal carafe. You can also program the machine to start brewing at the end of a dinner party to avoid having to get up from the table, or to have hot coffee waiting after a brisk winter walk. When making fewer than five cups of coffee, use the 1-to-4-cups setting to improve extraction and heat; coffeemakers without this setting often lack the time to heat up properly, and coffee comes out cooler. A disposable charcoal filter removes chlorine and odors from tap water, improving coffee flavor, and should be changed every few months. Other features include a gold-tone commercial-style filter (or use No. 4 basket-style paper filters); capacity to use preground coffee instead of beans; 30-second Brew Pause, which allows a cup be poured before brewing is complete; and an audible tone to indicate the pot is ready. The grinder removes for easy cleaning, and all removable parts can be washed safely in the upper rack of a dishwasher. The Cuisinart Grind and Brew measures 15 by 8 by 7-1/2 inches, and comes with a three-year warranty. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Worthless!!
Worst coffee maker I have ever owned. Can't measure water in pot.Have to press buttons for every pot up to 4 cups and another button if don't want to use grind and brew. But worst part is that I have had trouble with it since the get go.It is supposed to be factory reconditioned but after 3 months has a mind of its' own.I got mine from Smart Bargains who told me I had no recourse other than to contact Cuisinart.Guess I learned not to buy reconditioned or from Smart Bargains!

3-0 out of 5 stars Cuisinart DGB-600BC: Cleaning is a drawback
Regarding the Cuisinart DGB-600BC Grind and Brew -- great idea at first, but a troublesome item to keep clean. It is a lot simpler to merely use the common separate coffee grinder and a more conventional coffee pots because what you gain from the convenience of "grind and brew" you loose in cleaning out all the finely ground coffee that seems to be able to collect in the oddest places. I am an engineer, age 82, and it seems to me that a little research on the upkeep required to clean out all the places where the fine coffee grounds collect should have resulted in a product that is less frustrating. The fact that the grinder part and the coffee basket come out for "easy" cleaning sounds okay but wait until you find all the corners where it takes a brush (provided) to rake loose the sticky grounds that running water will not take away. Then, there is the impossible problem of cleaning out the accummulation of finely ground coffee grounds from the parts that do not disassemble. Daily maintence of a separate coffee grinder and coffee maker involves much less time to keep clean of stray coffee grounds.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great coffee
This coffeemaker is well worth the money and the time spent on a bit of extra cleanup every day.It makes great, consistent coffee. It keeps it warm for a really long time.Get some Weiman Stainless Steel wipes and keep the outside looking great.Yes, you do have to wash and dry the interior components each day, but I think it's worth it.You can do everything at night before you go to bed, set the timer, and wake up to great coffee. The only issue I have is that it only makes 10 cups.Oh, and the grinder is pretty loud. ... Editorial Review

With its programmable clock, this versatile coffeemaker not only has hot java waiting in the morning but can brew the coffee directly into either the 10-cup, glass-lined carafe, or one or both of the Thermos-brand travel mugs. Hamilton Beach makes the brewing process easy: a guide inside the water reservoir features mug symbols for the precise amount of water to add, and scalloped ridges on the coffeemaker base indicate exactly where to position the mugs. Care should be taken to ensure the coffeemaker is resting on a level surface, since a slight tilt could result in uneven distribution when both mugs are used simultaneously. A mug is placed under the brew basket with its lid screwed on tightly--a 360-degree ring of holes around the mug lid allows the coffee to enter during brewing. In addition, the holes enable the user to drink from any side, whether the handle is grasped by the left or right hand, a convenience that many car cup holders overlook.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars You can have mine!
This is the most disappointing coffeemaker I have ever owned! First off, I like my coffee a bit stronger, and it can barely accomodate the extra grounds.Second,it spits and sprews and steams like it's working for all it's worth. Third, the coffee never tastes good. It always has a bitter quality to it. The water runs in too fast I think. I called Hamilton Beach because all it did was steam one month after I bought it. They sent me a chemical to run through it; said it was probably clogged. This BTW was even after I ran the vinegar treatment through it 3 times in the first month. I have since retired this unit that cost me $45.00 new. I am using a little 4 cup Black & Decker that cost $12.00 and I am much happier. Anyone want my Hamilton Beach? I'll sell it cheap!

1-0 out of 5 stars Hamilton Beach Thermal Carafe coffee tastes bad
I recently purchaseda Hamilton Beach Thermal Carafe coffee maker. The coffee has a chemical aftertaste-it tastes like new plastic. In addition, the coffee is very weak- as it brews, it pours through the filter at one speed (rapid). I have seen other models make stronger coffee with a setting- made by the user - to control the rate of water flow through the filter.

3-0 out of 5 stars Beware of false "free shipping" claims
I just purchased this item on line and it showed "free shipping" and no tax. When I got my confirmation they are charging me $26.46 for shipping which was the highest price of anyone on line.I could have purchased it at Bed, Bath and Beyond with a 20% coupon on there price of $69.89.I have contacted Amazon and I am waiting to see how they handle this. This was very upsetting to see the confirmation email come in. I used the 1-click ordering system which does not show you a confirmation on screen but emails you one.I would avoid this option if I were you. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Handle with care!
I'm here purchasing the third carafe for my coffee maker. This carafe is nice to look at but extremely fragile!

5-0 out of 5 stars replacement carafe
The carafe was a perfect replacement for the one that I broke.
2-0 out of 5 stars Dribble glass
If you're looking for a *replacement* carafe and already own the coffee-maker then you probably already know this, but in case you don't then be aware that this model has a "dribble" problem.Read more
