4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Coffee
This Dark roast coffee taste nice and very close to the expensive nEspresso machine cofee taste from my work.Like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
I have yet to try the other coffee flavors, but I have to say (being a bit of a coffee snob at times) the dark roast was the best cup of coffee I've had at home, or most locations, ever!I love dark coffee but can never get the taste quite right, with these I can drink it black and it's perfect.I was going to try another flavor but I'm so in love with these I had better stock up!They do seem a bit pricey, but for a good cup of coffee quickly, this stuff is the best! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Okay, not great
All right, we today became beneficiaries of a free coffee maker from Senseo, thanks to a generous tip from a favorite of my Amazon friends.
2-0 out of 5 stars Okay but there is better out there for less
I used to have no problem with these, until one day on an impulse I decided to give Target's Archer Farms brand coffee pods a try (breakfast blend aka medium roast). They cost less, are bigger, individually wrapped and produce a much smoother coffee. Now I can't drink Douwe Egberts anymore and am hooked on Archer Farms.

2-0 out of 5 stars Full-bodied, but harsh!
Recently I ended up trying out the Senseo system, and I tried it with the Douwe Egberts medium roast pods. Normally I drink cold-brewed Toddy coffee, and even though I'm sensitive to bitterness and acid levels in coffee, I can drink that with just dairy, no sugar. I immediately needed quite a bit of sugar for this coffee--and then I had to start drinking half my usual amount of coffee. It was so bitter I almost couldn't drink it. It was so acidic it made my stomach hurt. And it was so caffeinated I got the shakes that first time.

Combining long-lasting brushed stainless steel with an elegant design, this 10-cup coffee maker features a double-wall vacuum-insulated thermal carafe and a flavor-sealing brew-through lid that keeps freshly brewed coffee hot for hours. The carafe's pour-and-lock system, as well as its open, soft touch, non-slip handle, allows for simple pouring with the push of a button. With the coffee maker's pause-and-serve feature, a cup can be poured mid-brew, and for convenience and safety, the unit is designed with an automatic shut-off feature. Its exclusive, filter basket-release button makes it simple to remove the basket and conveniently place it on the countertop for easy filling or cleaning. The coffee maker comes with a permanent gold-tone filter and an exclusive Brita water filter, which helps prevent scale build-up and reduces chlorine and other impurities for an improved coffee flavor. The unit is designed for household use only and features dishwasher-safe removable parts for easy clean up. 2-0 out of 5 stars Let down for a Braun believer!
First, a little history... My coffeemakers have been as follows:
2-0 out of 5 stars Shut-off time confusion in many reviews
First, there really is no problem at all with the 17 minute shutoff when it comes to keeping coffee hot. This model has no heater whatsoever in its base as some people apparently expect--the carafe is supposed to keep the coffee hot without an external heater. The 17 minute shutoff is strictly for added safety. Should the brewing thermostat be stuck in the "on" position after all the water had passed up into the basket, the shutoff would prevent that heater from melting down and causing a fire. Our unit brews completely within 5 minutes tops, so 17 minutes is more than adequate.
3-0 out of 5 stars An okay coffee maker, less than expected
The on button does not stay "on" for long. The coffee ends up getting cold in the thermal carafe, which really isn't that thermal.Looks nice, but doesn't function great. The taste of the coffee is okay though, when it is hot.The Brita filters that come with the coffee maker are, in my experience, hard to find.In ordering them on Amazon, there was a three week wait for them.Keep this in mind as the filters only have a two month lifespan. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Cheap Hot Water
This is a phenomenal price for an electric kettle. The lid doesn't seat so tightly, and it doesn't feel terribly robust, but for the cost, this will make tea and instant coffee in your office, dorm or home. We even heat up spagetti boiling water in it to speed it along the way (pouring it into the spaghetti pot to get a head start.)

Great for commuters, office professionals, and one-coffee-drinker households, this personal coffeemaker brews 15 ounces of coffee directly into a stainless-steel travel mug. The mug has a rubber handle for a safe grip and a lid to keep coffee hot. It's tapered to a 2-1/2-inch-diameter bottom, so it fits most vehicle cup holders. The coffeemaker itself is designed for an on-the-go coffee drinker. It has a permanent filter--no messy disposable paper filters required--and shuts off automatically after brewing. The mug, filter, filter basket, and mug lid are dishwasher-safe, and the coffeemaker can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, it measures 9-3/4 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, andcarries a one-year warranty against defects. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Idea, but poor design. Grounds everywhere!
Purchased this item and and it worked fine for a few weeks. Then it started to overflow the grounds outside of the basket and into the water tank, water spreader and into the cup of coffee. Black and Decker replaced the coffee basket but that did not help, when I called them back they offered to send a "refurbished" replacement for $7.50 (the original price for the brand new unit was only $15) if I sent them back a piece of the power cord. And if the replacement unit does the same thing, then I would only have $22.50 in a non-useable unit. No thanks! I would suggest you stay away from this item.

5-0 out of 5 stars No waste and no extra expense!
I had a small 4 cup coffee maker for years but had to make 2 cups in it to taste right, even though I only drank one cup. I'd forget about the second unnecessary cup, and it would sit in the pot all day while I was at work & eventually stunk up the kitchen over time.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is the perfect one cup brewer.
Okay, I've spent hundreds of dollars on different coffee makers over the past two years... I've tried pod brewers (too strong), Mr. Coffee's (horrible taste), old fashioned percolaters and more.I wanted something fast, easy to use with a big enough cup for my morning coffee. This fits the bill perfectly. It comes with a 15 ounce travel mug with a tight lid that doesn't allow leaking when I'm at the computer. It's very easy to clean and after a few weeks of use I don't get any "silt" at the bottom of the cup as another reviewer complained. The permanent filter works for me and this brews a great cup of coffee from all types of grounds. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but overpriced
I've owned this kettle for about a month now.It does what's advertised, but it's far from perfect (that's why it gets a B- from me).In fact, it's no better than Black&Decker I bought at Target some 4 years ago for around $20.The "Open the Lid" button only gets the lid ajar without fully opening it (the lid is not spring loaded), so you do need both hands in order to open the lid (which is an incovinience if you have a pitcher of water in the other hand). You can fill it through the nose, but you gotta be careful not to spill the water around. Both the power button and the "Open the Lid" button have extremely cheap feel to them, there are huge gaps around them ... if I were to rate it on fit and finish alone it would get 2 stars ... but since my wife likes it, I'll give it 4 stars

5-0 out of 5 stars Works like it's s'posed to
I purchased this kettle about a month and a half ago, and from the time I unpacked it it's seen heavy, daily use by both me and my roommate. We are both caffeine junkies, so the fact that it boils water fast is cool.We are also both pretty spacy, so the fact that it turns itself off is also cool.I'm trying to think of gripes I have with the thing, but it actually works really well.If you need an electric doodad to heat up water, this will do it for you.

1-0 out of 5 stars Leaked after a year
This would be a great kettle- pretty fast, decent design, but one year after purchase I am finding growing puddles under it- a leak has developed at the point where the bottom meets the side of the container. I have yet to find a kettle that is durable. This should have lasted at least 5 years. I hate disposable appliances. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars AVOID THIS ONE
Only had this coffee maker ( second replacement) one year and it leaked from all over my counter. I asked for a replacement, crazy huh, and was told NO my time had run out. Well I am off on a hunt for a good coffee maker. THIS WAS NOT IT !! Do not waste your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Coffeemaker!
I had been using a Braun Flavorselect for several years, which was a great coffemaker but was showing its age.So when I started reading up on new models out there, feedback didn't seem so great for the new Brauns. So I found this one, loved the looks and the features, and the feedback seemed very positive.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money.
I purchased this electric because of it's striking design, and programable delayed brewing. While it worked nicely for two years, just a month out of warranty it died! Overhaul, it was a good coffee maker but several design quirks made it difficult to use. The very small water reservior filling area is almost unusable. It's such a confined area, you end up spilling water all over the place. The second quirk is the NON- LIT very small digital display. Putting aside it only lasted two years, I decided to purchase another one. I ran out to one of local retailers and paid the $79 retail pop, used the new pot 3 days and the display died. It would shut off mid brew. At this point I returned it and bought a Mr Coffee 12 cup programable pot which I am very pleased with. In closing, the Cuisinart is too expensive, and doesn't over anything different than the 100s of other brands out there. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Really Bad Product...Ugh
Horrid, bitter, watery waste of money. I have tried these 5 times now. I am stuck with a quantity and just keep hoping it will somehow get better. No. I am reminded each time how bad it was the time before. There just is no body at all! Colored water with no flavor.
4-0 out of 5 stars better than they say
these aren't bad unless you make them the wrong way. using the 2-cup brew button makes terrible coffee.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not good!
I have tried almost all of the Senseo flavors now, and I have to say that the Cappuccino may be the worst. The flavor is very bitter. Not that I would expect an actual cappuccino to come out of my Senseo machine, but I thought it would at least taste okay. It does have a nice, smooth texture, but I just can't enjoy the taste. Also, the pods tend to leave behind a little mess with some of the cream that leaks out and they leave a lot more water in the holder than normal pods do. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A fast, great cup of coffee
This is a simple, inexpensive coffee maker that makes excellent coffee. With all the usual nods to dribbles and fragility, I've had one for about 10 years and am about to order another one (nothing lasts forever these days).

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't hate this becaue it's cheap!
I had to overcome the fact that this is such a cheap coffee maker.I mean, I LOVE coffee therefore I can justify spending more on a coffee maker! But it's just SO not necessary!

Great flavor! I like that I can put two in if I really want a deep bodied flavor, but one is fine too. I like that I don't have to make a full pot to enjoy a good cup of coffee.

    Editorial Review

Wake up and smell the coffee--not just freshly brewed coffee but freshly ground coffee for full-bodied flavor. This coffeemaker does everything but serve a steaming cup on a silver tray. For the full experience, here's how it goes: pour water into reservoir (a window gauge shows the desired level up to 10 cups); spoon roasted coffee beans into permanent stainless-steel filter basket (no disposable filters needed); program mill to grind beans as you wish (seven settings, from fine to coarse); set clock to current time of day; program timer to begin automatic grinding and brewing process at the hour and minute you wish; sleep like a baby; savor coffee precisely as you like it when you awake. Ground coffee can be used instead of whole beans, and the whole coffee-making process can be initiated instantly without setting the timer. Other attributes: dripping ceases when the tempered-glass carafe is removed from the nonstick warming plate; shutting down is automatic after one hour to prevent damage; cord stores in the rear of the unit. This is a thoroughly modern coffeemaker, suitable for people who take coffee seriously but crave convenience. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the Price
I studied and researched for a long time on the grind and brew makers.Melitta was by far the least expensive and has really pretty good reviews from others.I have used this machine almost every day since last December (10 months now) and have never had one single problem. I use the timer mode and that is what I wake up to every morning.I am a light sleeper so I don't even set the alarm. I wake up when I hear the machine start to grind and wait a few minutes to get out of bed and go out to the kitchen and voila, it is done and fresh and wonderful. This is my first review I put on Amazon because I felt so strongly about this great machine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Weak Cold Coffee
I read all the reviews here on Amazon and thought this was the coffeemaker to buy. Most of all I wanted a coffeemaker that had a brewing tempature of 195 to 205. This is needed to fully extract all the oils and flavor from the bean. I was disappointed when the pot arrived and I brewed the first cup. The coffee was tepid at best. I knew the brewing temp was too low. I then checked the water coming out of the brewer and it was only 175 degrees. I have to microwave every cup to get hot enough to drink. The coffee is also very weak and I have to add extra beans to get any flavor. One trick I did find is to wait for the beans to grind and stop the brewer. Then I remove the brew basket and shake it to get all the grinds to go to the bottom of the basket. This seemed to make the coffee stronger. Oh well, back to the search for a hot coffeemaker

I have been buying coffeemakers for a couple of decades and purchased a Melitta a few years ago.

2-0 out of 5 stars artificial candy like vanilla flavor
These are okay, but I prefer Target's Archer Farms brand coffee pods much more. They cost less, are bigger, individually wrapped and produce a much smoother coffee with real vanilla flavor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice change of pace
I'm new to the coffee pod scene, but this Paris blend is delightful. The pods produce a subtle blend that varys enough from the Medium Roast to make a nice change.Great for that second cup in the morning.

4-0 out of 5 stars For Vanilla lovers
My husband actually did not like this flavor, but he isn't that big into Vanilla. However, my in-laws raved! They may actually buy a Senseo based on trying ours. They didn't want to drink all of our coffee, but we said go ahead since my husband didn't like it.They must have had 3 cups each of this coffee, it was like they couldn't get enough.I suggest that you actually try any Senseo flavor by buying one pack at the store first to see if you like the flavor. If you do, come back to Amazon and order in bulk to save you money.$3.84 at Walmart for a package of 10 pods = .38 each. Here it is only .25 a cup of coffee at the current price. ... Nothing beats a freshly ground, freshly brewed cuppa joe to start the day, and with this grinder, you can have up to 20 cups' worth of beans at a time. 1-0 out of 5 stars Not for spices at all!
I needed a spice grinder and got this because it was the only one available locally at the time. The box on it said "Coffee and spice grinder," and my father used one of these for coffee for years, so I figured it had to be okay. After buying it, it was obvious that the "spice grinder" part was a marketing gimmick as the included docs didn't talk about it at all.End result, while it did a fine job grinding, it is impossible to clean!Neither the metal bowl nor the blade can be removed, so you can't scrub it, especially the bottom of the blade. There is also a seam between the bowl and the plastic which collects ground spices.Unless you want your freshly ground cinnamon tasting like coriander and black pepper, don't buy this unless you buy one for each spice.I'm sure it does a fine job with coffee, but for spices, it is not good and I feel ripped off.I kept it and cleaned as best I could until I found a Kitchen-Aid model, that while not quite as good at grinding, is able to be cleaned.Much better!

3-0 out of 5 stars Only a shadow of it's former self
I was given a Krups model 203 in 1976. It worked perfectly, every single day... until I dropped it, two weeks ago. I'm getting it repaired now.
5-0 out of 5 stars Better than the Braun
A little over 6 months ago we read about the benefits of grinding flaxseed and eating it with cereal, and decided to try it.So we bought the Braun KSM-2 grinder for the purpose, and it worked reasonably well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Flavor!
I haven't tried coffee in it yet, but did try Irish Breakfast Tea, it was really, really good!It brought out the flavor of the tea much better than brewing in a coffee maker, and much STRONGER.One reviewer wrote about that, and they were correct, it will have you buzzing around if you aren't used to it!The only drawback I have experienced is I don't have a dishwasher and it's a little time-consuming to get the grounds completely out of the filter.Other than that, I'm very pleased with the quality/taste this coffee press provides!Would highly recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good (large) French Press
I have a 3-cup french press (which btw is only about 1 'American' cup), but I needed something bigger when I have to make more than my cup of coffee in the morning. Despite its bargain price, this coffee press is very good at what it's supposed to do. The filter fits tighter than my 3-cup press, so no coffee grinds pass through the gap (b/w its filter and the glass) even when you press down hard. I first thought it looked flimsy and cheap, but so far this has seen more use at my home than my old coffee press.

5-0 out of 5 stars Proud owner
After buying a single cup coffee press I was ready to step up and this was the perfect buy.I love the quality of the press. The mesh is fine enough on the press to hold the coffee grounds in place. The press slides down smoothly and there is a great seal on the lid to keep it from falling off when you pour the coffee into your cup.I thought I could not live without my coffee maker - now the only other coffee I drink is a Mocha from Starbucks. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wow this is really GREAT for loose tea too!
Not a big coffee drinker but do love all sorts of loose teas! This product was recommended to me from another tea drinker & it really works fabulous!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lives up to the hype!
Okay, to some the idea of using a French press coffee maker is a little too precious, bordering on snobbishness. I used to be in that boatuntil a few hours ago.Tonight on a whim, I purchased this Bodum French press. Now I should warn you readers that it is generally NOT a good idea to test out your shiny new french press when you are getting home at 10:30pm on a Monday after spending way too much money at Target when you just ran in to get "dog food".I write this review so heavily caffienated that I will probably stay up until dawn tonight re-organizing my closets or alphabetizing my CD collection or doing some other useless task.Despite being a dailycoffee drinker (of the muddy variety the office's Bunn machine churns out), one cup from the french press has knocked me into the stratosphere, and that alone is worth giving this product 5 stars.

I love the flavor of rich, full-bodied coffee. So when my son left for college last month, I purchased a small 4-cup drip maker. But somehow the paper filter affected the taste of the coffee, so I bought a metal screen filter and that was better. But then a friend had one of these 4-cup percolators and the coffee was best I'd ever had!
