4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty fantastic little machine
My mother bought this for myself and my husband for xmess about 4 years ago.We were in love! The coffee is amazing, better than anything you can get at St@rb*cks and waking up to freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee is a fine motivator to get out of bed in the morning.
4-0 out of 5 stars Coffee shop coffee
I bought this unit 6 or 7 years ago and have loved it ever since.Features like the programmable timer, water heat selection, self clean are all useful, but what makes this a great coffee maker is that it grinds the coffee and passes hot water through it within seconds of finishing the grind. That you can program this so you can have fresh ground and brewed coffee waiting for you in the morning is one of the finer things in life.
5-0 out of 5 stars absolutely love this and mine is durable!
I've had mine for 2+ years and have used it every day with no problems at all.The coffee is the best I've ever tasted....nothing beats fresh ground beans.I love waking up to the sound of the grinder, and when it's finished brewing, the machine makes a beeping sound to let you know........it's like a snooze alarm.I think it's actually easy to clean, just 3 parts to wash. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Weak coffee, another crappy coffee maker!!!!
I do not understand what has happened in the coffee maker industry. It seems as if every coffee appliance I buy fails. This one is no exception.I bought this one only because most of the reviews praised it.Now I am sure that the reviews are phony and must be posted by the manufacturer. There is no control over the time of percolation which for whatever reason has been designed to be too short. The coffee comes out weak especially if you try to make less than 12 cups, the water just doesn't make it through the strainer for less cups???The manual suggests using 20 spoons for 12 cups of strong coffee. At this rate I will essentially be using double the coffee grinds to make the same amount of coffee as I did with a much older Faberware I had and the coffee is still weak. The new faberwares are just as bad as everything else manufactured these days. The reviews and the item description also touts that this coffee percolator has a glass knob. This is an outright lie, it is plastic!!!!I was initially pleased with the design although I feel it is made with a lighter guage metal than it should be.I would gladly pay double for this product if it worked.Don't buy it, it is another coffee maker dud!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Electric Bad! Stovetop Good!
I bought this to replace my ancient aluminum stovetop percolator, which did make great tasting coffee - but the aluminum/alzeimer concerns worried me, plus the thing was stained and almost burnt through from heavy use. Anyway, I did a fair amount of research and this Cuisinart seemed like the best electric percolator available. I thought an electric would be easier to clean (they aren't). The main point I didn't consider is that you can't control the percolating time on these things. That's pretty much the whole point of percolating coffee; If you want stronger coffee you want to be able to percolate it for a longer time. An electric percolator shuts off automatically after it's short pre-timed brewing cycle. I tried a variety of beans and ground settings (and added more coffee to the basket to compensate), but it was still weak. The end result here is watery coffee, just slightly better then what you get from a drip machine. What's the point? I will admit that this percolator is well designed, pours nicely, has a heavy gauge basket and keeps the coffee very hot. That classic percolated taste just isn't there. If you love the rich taste of percolated coffee like I do (it's the best!), you really need a stove top model. I'm getting a Bialetti!

5-0 out of 5 stars KING OF PERCOLATORS
I bought this percolator because the coffee ,no matter how expensive the maker was did not taste that good.I buy my coffee from Hawaii and it lacked something.I decided to buy a percolator and I love the cuisinart brand and it was a perfect fit, the style is classic , sleek, and easy to clean. It tastes 100% better than the auto coffee maker, I will not go back. Thanks Cuisinart ... Editorial Review

Both a regular coffeemaker and espresso machine, this1,500-watt appliance has separate water tanks for simultaneouslybrewing drip coffee and espresso. The espresso machine side has abuilt-in frothing system with a milk tank for creating cappuccinos andlattés in their cups. Separate knobs select the strength of bothregular coffee and espresso. Making espresso follows tradition: tampcoffee into a filter basket inside a filter holder, twist the filterholder onto the machine, pour water into the machine's boiler, andpress a button. Depending on the amount of water added, up to four2-ounce cups then flow into an 8-ounce glass carafe. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Good coffee until a piece broke...
I've had my machine for 7 months (it was the wedding gift I was most thrilled to receive).Unfortunately, it has given me quite a bit of trouble already. My lattes are barely lukewarm, so I have to microwave them every time. The clock light appears only after I unplug and re-plug in the machine. It is a chore to clean the milk container.Coffee grounds come through the expresso part, forcing me to use a small filter. All this I could handle, but then yesterday the little red piece in the milk container broke, leading to a mini-milk explosion during frothing. Now I'm not sure what to do.What will I ever tell my gracious mother-in-law who gave me this lovely gift?If I could go back, I would register for a different machine.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth The Price!!!
Stay away from this one! This is the second model I own since the first one, not even a year old, started leaking all over the place as well as turn on when you weren't even making coffee which is a fire hazard in itself.I thought, okay, maybe I got a lemon. I went through hoops with the company to get another one. Well, I wish I had never bought it in the first place. Although this one does not leak, it still turns on by itself. I have to keep it unplugged so it doesn't start a fire. Definitely not worth the money I spent and will not buy DeLonghi again!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Coffee Maker
We have had our coffee maker for 1 1/2 years now and have not had any problems with it at all.Program button works well and clean up is simple and easy.It occasionally needs a new replacement water filter, only a couple dollars, and coffee tastes like new again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars coffee pot
It's a great coffee maker for a great price.I take it with me when I travel because it's plastic. This is my second coffee maker because the first one broke from someone over filled it.I would buy it again.

2-0 out of 5 stars If you want quality, look elsewhere...
I purchased this unit due to the fact that you could dispense without a coffee pot. In the past I have usually ended up breaking the glass carafe that comes along with traditional coffee makers. At first, I was very pleased with the unit and thought I made a great purchase. Eventually it started to drip and leak at random. The handle in the water/coffee holder broke. The top of the unit that lifts up broke off completely and now just sort of sits there precariously. Finally, this week it decided that it was not going to work at all. It will not make coffee. It will turn on, but not brew. I have only had this for a year and a half or so. Look elsewhere if you are looking for something that is going to last. (it was only used 2-3 times a week)

1-0 out of 5 stars coffee puddles galore
I bought this coffee maker attracted by the features-no carafe-auto shut off.I still love that aspect of the machine however I have constant puddles of coffee on my countertop.I am about to throw it away after only six months and bring the old Bunn cofeemaker that I have had for 15 years out of storage and had kept "just in case".The concept of the auto shut off is great but if I don't drain any left over cofee out of the machine it all winds up on my counter --so I might as well just turn it off anyway.I had read the reviews where people complained about the drip but thought "how bad can a little drip be".THIS IS NOT A LITTLE DRIP.It will entirely drain the machine if not emptied. Trust the reviews.Do not buy this machine. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Do you enjoy the aroma of plastic?
I am a huge krups fan, so I thought I would outfit my new kitchen with a sleek new model, as Pro Aroma was no longer available.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good cup of coffee!
Easy to use and keeps our coffee hot in the thermal pot. Very easy to program, and clean up is smooth. If you do not use automatic program the on/off switch is the way to go. No real problems, except with the water filter. Hard to install, and no real use.

2-0 out of 5 stars Expensive piece of plastic/ metal
I bought this (in black) at Williams & Sonoma for over $100 - thought I'd spend the extra $ thinking I was getting a quality item that would last . . .boy was I WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!My cheap Mr. Coffee lasted longer than this thing!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Keeper
I have used many different brands of coffemakers, but this one will be my last. It easily makes the best coffee. This may be because of the use of a paper filter and more than one drip hole which slows the coffee from leaving the grounds too quickly, or it may be because the coffee filter is placed into the decanter. My other coffee makers used a plastic filter, or permanent weave type and the coffee poured through. In order to get hot coffee though you must follow the directions and heat your cup with hot water. It also helps if the water you add is not from the refrigerator. The hottest coffee I've had came from a percolator. I like the fact that the water tank can be removed to fill or left in, and the cup amounts are clearly visible when adding water. I do wish the top had been hinged to the unit though. I also think it is too expensive.

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST ON THE MARKET
Great little mashine.Looks beautiful on the counter top, maches to my other stainless steel appliences.Makes a nice cup of coffee, keeps it hot at all times.LOVE IT

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best In Its Category
I spent a lot of time online looking for a 4 to 5 cup coffeemaker to suit my needs. There are the usual suspects: Mr. Coffee, Braun, etc, that seem to get universally bad to mediocre reviews from people, especially people who know anything about coffee.I decided to skip all of those and look for something that would make a really good cup of coffee.

Editorial Review

The modern cylindrical design on this compact little teakettle makes it look like a museum piece—and, well it might be, as it was created for New York’s Museum of Modern Art shop by designed Carsten Jorgensen. However, this kettle’s form also has a function: its slightly wider base directs heat upward so water boils 50 percent faster than in other teakettles. In fact, it takes only 8 minutes to boil about 2 pints of water, although the Osiris can hold a maximum capacity of 64 ounces or 2 quarts. The Osiris is made of brilliantly polished stainless steel, which matches any kitchen décor. The pot has a lift-off lid on top for refilling with water and a stay-cool handle for safe lifting from the stove. The triangular-shaped spout doesn’t have a whistle to alert you when water is boiling so it’s advised to stick close by when this teakettle is on the stove. Read more

Features

  • Heats water up to 50% faster than traditional kettles
  • 18/10 polished stainless steel
  • 2-quart/64-ounce capacity
  • Stay-cool safety handle

3-0 out of 5 stars Believe it or not, I miss that annoying wistle.
As much as I like the stylish look of this tea pot, it was a mistake to get one without a wistle. As adveritsed, it does boil water quickly; with most of it going up in steam before you realize that it has boiled. If you want stylish, there's plenty out ther to choose from that has a wistle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Osiris sets the standard
I have just purchased this piece of MOMA stovetop functional art for the second time. The first one I got is still at work on my stovetop at home #1 after more years than I can remember - when was this Bodum classic designed? It is still as beautiful and functional as the first day I got it!Now I have one for home #2 as well.I checked out every other tea kettle on the market and non can compare to the clean elegant lines and simple straight forward response to the task of boiling water. The Osiris tea kettle has beauty combined with utility,"beautility", in a word. Not bad for a modest piece of kitchen cookware, huh?

5-0 out of 5 stars Indestructable Kettle
This is the second kettle of this model that we bought. The old one has been burned without water so many times that finally the handle melted. The Bodum kettle is almost indestructable if you forget to take it off the stove for say... an hour.It has literally been red hot several times due to carelessness on our part.Nonetheless, It never leaked, cracked, or distorted. It always cleans up like new, and boils water faster than most other kettles. It is simplicity and function.Nothing more, nothing less.If you want a great looking kettle that you just cannot break, this is it. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Kaput after just 2 months
As several other reviewers said, the clock lost several minutes a week requiring that it be re-set periodically. This was tolerable since the coffee it made was decent. The Aerolatte Travel coffee press performs several functions at the same time. First, it brews coffee with a simple plunger action like a French press. Secondly, it has a tight-fitting lid with a no-spill drinking aperture for taking coffee on the road. Lastly, its insulated walls act like a thermos to keep coffee hot. (Incidentally, this last function addresses a common complaint about French press pots, which are usually made of glass and do not conserve heat well.) This is a great small gift for an avid coffee drinker. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars No Way!Sent it Back!
I own a typical glass french press, which works great.I was willing to try this one because of the traveling capability.I would not purchase this again, and actually sent two back.It may have had great insulation to keep coffee warm, but it leaked grounds into the coffee! Yuck!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Backpacking
I bought this mug/french press to use when backpacking. The outdoor stores sell something similar, but made out of plastic.I was willing to accept the extra weight for the extra durability.Plus the plastic ones can't be used as a mug.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great buy
I bought this for my boyfriend who is very picky when it comes to drinking his coffee. He loves this mug and uses it everyday. 5-0 out of 5 stars Near perfect small pot......but FRAGILE
This is a wonderful little tea pot.Although only 2 cups capacity the pot is easy to use and extremely well designed.Tea is placed in the infuser, off boil water poured on top and the brew process easily gauged by the clear see through design.Once the perfect steep is achieved, compress the plunger and the steeping process is terminated. The double wall design is not as efficient as a vacuum container but keeps the rather small volume more than hot enough to finish off a perfect pot.
5-0 out of 5 stars Makes the perfect cup of tea
This gem of a tea press is simple to use and keeps tea piping hot. I have used the Bodum Assam Tea Press for a few years with a few minor "could be improveds," the main one being that the tea cools down quickly, even when using a tea cosy. The Bora Bora is a huge improvement. The tea stays as hot as freshly brewed, clear, and does not get bitter. Another improvement from the Assam is the basket the loose tea goes in fits tighter and doesn't overflow when water is added. The pot is easy to clean, and is as simple to use as a tea bag. This pot is very good looking and well designed. If Bodum comes out with a four cup Bora Bora Doublewall Thermo Tea Press I will buy it as well! May be a bit pricey, but does what it is supposed to do and looks fantastic doing it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Presto Coffeemaker
The coffee is hot and has a great flavor. This is our second coffeepot purchase and we prefer it to a coffeemaker. We would definately recommend it compared to the other brands.

2-0 out of 5 stars Grinding it out...
Plusses: The percolator perks quickly and keeps the coffee quite hot - brews a good strong cup of tasty coffee. Very few parts to break. Nice light on the side to tell you when the coffee is ready.

Editorial Review

By steeping ground coffee for nearly 2 minutes to begin the brewingprocess, this coffee maker delivers up to 10 cups of full-flavored coffee andthen keeps it warm in an insulated thermos-carafe for hours. The thermos-carafeseals in heat during the brewing process and afterward to lock in flavor. Thiseliminates the need for a warming plate, which can turn coffee bitter. Formaking wake-up coffee, the machine's programmable clock-timer can be set up to24 hours in advance. There's also an automatic interrupter that halts coffeeflow for 20 seconds during the brewing cycle if the thermos-carafe is removedfor a quick pour. For best results, remove the carafe from the base when the brewing process is complete, sealing off the carafe and insuring hot coffee. This sleek coffee maker measures 8-1/2 by 15-1/2 inches highby 8-1/2 inches wide by 10-1/4 inches deep. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Carafe exploded
We've had this coffeemaker for about 10 months now and so far it has worked reasonably well. I have to admit that the coffee is not as hot as I would like it though, when brewed. However what is more upsetting is that the carafe exploded on me today after it had been washed. We are very careful with the carafe and always handwash and take good care of it. Is there a replacement carafe? Can Krups replace this?

5-0 out of 5 stars Looks Great and Tastes Great!
I love this coffee maker from Krups. It's the best coffee maker I have ever had. It looks so elegant on my countertop and it produces great tasting coffee. I also like the size. 10 cups were more than enough for all my guests. I definitely recommend it. ... Read more
