4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Coffee
This Dark roast coffee taste nice and very close to the expensive nEspresso machine cofee taste from my work.Like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
I have yet to try the other coffee flavors, but I have to say (being a bit of a coffee snob at times) the dark roast was the best cup of coffee I've had at home, or most locations, ever!I love dark coffee but can never get the taste quite right, with these I can drink it black and it's perfect.I was going to try another flavor but I'm so in love with these I had better stock up!They do seem a bit pricey, but for a good cup of coffee quickly, this stuff is the best! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Okay, not great
All right, we today became beneficiaries of a free coffee maker from Senseo, thanks to a generous tip from a favorite of my Amazon friends.
2-0 out of 5 stars Okay but there is better out there for less
I used to have no problem with these, until one day on an impulse I decided to give Target's Archer Farms brand coffee pods a try (breakfast blend aka medium roast). They cost less, are bigger, individually wrapped and produce a much smoother coffee. Now I can't drink Douwe Egberts anymore and am hooked on Archer Farms.

2-0 out of 5 stars Full-bodied, but harsh!
Recently I ended up trying out the Senseo system, and I tried it with the Douwe Egberts medium roast pods. Normally I drink cold-brewed Toddy coffee, and even though I'm sensitive to bitterness and acid levels in coffee, I can drink that with just dairy, no sugar. I immediately needed quite a bit of sugar for this coffee--and then I had to start drinking half my usual amount of coffee. It was so bitter I almost couldn't drink it. It was so acidic it made my stomach hurt. And it was so caffeinated I got the shakes that first time.

2-0 out of 5 stars Let down for a Braun believer!
First, a little history... My coffeemakers have been as follows:
2-0 out of 5 stars Shut-off time confusion in many reviews
First, there really is no problem at all with the 17 minute shutoff when it comes to keeping coffee hot. This model has no heater whatsoever in its base as some people apparently expect--the carafe is supposed to keep the coffee hot without an external heater. The 17 minute shutoff is strictly for added safety. Should the brewing thermostat be stuck in the "on" position after all the water had passed up into the basket, the shutoff would prevent that heater from melting down and causing a fire. Our unit brews completely within 5 minutes tops, so 17 minutes is more than adequate.
3-0 out of 5 stars An okay coffee maker, less than expected
The on button does not stay "on" for long. The coffee ends up getting cold in the thermal carafe, which really isn't that thermal.Looks nice, but doesn't function great. The taste of the coffee is okay though, when it is hot.The Brita filters that come with the coffee maker are, in my experience, hard to find.In ordering them on Amazon, there was a three week wait for them.Keep this in mind as the filters only have a two month lifespan. ... Great for commuters, office professionals, and one-coffee-drinker households, this personal coffeemaker brews 15 ounces of coffee directly into a stainless-steel travel mug. The mug has a rubber handle for a safe grip and a lid to keep coffee hot. It's tapered to a 2-1/2-inch-diameter bottom, so it fits most vehicle cup holders. The coffeemaker itself is designed for an on-the-go coffee drinker. It has a permanent filter--no messy disposable paper filters required--and shuts off automatically after brewing. The mug, filter, filter basket, and mug lid are dishwasher-safe, and the coffeemaker can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, it measures 9-3/4 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, andcarries a one-year warranty against defects. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Idea, but poor design. Grounds everywhere!
Purchased this item and and it worked fine for a few weeks. Then it started to overflow the grounds outside of the basket and into the water tank, water spreader and into the cup of coffee. Black and Decker replaced the coffee basket but that did not help, when I called them back they offered to send a "refurbished" replacement for $7.50 (the original price for the brand new unit was only $15) if I sent them back a piece of the power cord. And if the replacement unit does the same thing, then I would only have $22.50 in a non-useable unit. No thanks! I would suggest you stay away from this item.

5-0 out of 5 stars No waste and no extra expense!
I had a small 4 cup coffee maker for years but had to make 2 cups in it to taste right, even though I only drank one cup. I'd forget about the second unnecessary cup, and it would sit in the pot all day while I was at work & eventually stunk up the kitchen over time.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is the perfect one cup brewer.
Okay, I've spent hundreds of dollars on different coffee makers over the past two years... I've tried pod brewers (too strong), Mr. Coffee's (horrible taste), old fashioned percolaters and more.I wanted something fast, easy to use with a big enough cup for my morning coffee. This fits the bill perfectly. It comes with a 15 ounce travel mug with a tight lid that doesn't allow leaking when I'm at the computer. It's very easy to clean and after a few weeks of use I don't get any "silt" at the bottom of the cup as another reviewer complained. The permanent filter works for me and this brews a great cup of coffee from all types of grounds. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars AVOID THIS ONE
Only had this coffee maker ( second replacement) one year and it leaked from all over my counter. I asked for a replacement, crazy huh, and was told NO my time had run out. Well I am off on a hunt for a good coffee maker. THIS WAS NOT IT !! Do not waste your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Coffeemaker!
I had been using a Braun Flavorselect for several years, which was a great coffemaker but was showing its age.So when I started reading up on new models out there, feedback didn't seem so great for the new Brauns. So I found this one, loved the looks and the features, and the feedback seemed very positive.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money.
I purchased this electric because of it's striking design, and programable delayed brewing. While it worked nicely for two years, just a month out of warranty it died! Overhaul, it was a good coffee maker but several design quirks made it difficult to use. The very small water reservior filling area is almost unusable. It's such a confined area, you end up spilling water all over the place. The second quirk is the NON- LIT very small digital display. Putting aside it only lasted two years, I decided to purchase another one. I ran out to one of local retailers and paid the $79 retail pop, used the new pot 3 days and the display died. It would shut off mid brew. At this point I returned it and bought a Mr Coffee 12 cup programable pot which I am very pleased with. In closing, the Cuisinart is too expensive, and doesn't over anything different than the 100s of other brands out there. ... Read more

Thanks to a system that quickly saturates ground coffee and a sealed carafe that minimizes evaporation, this 10-cup coffeemaker delivers full-flavored coffee that doesn't turn bitter while it's on the warming plate. Other features include a coffee-flow shutoff if the carafe is removed for a quick pour during the brewing cycle; a swing-out filter basket that can be removed for cleaning; a flip-top lid on the water tank; and cord storage in the rear. 5-0 out of 5 stars A fast, great cup of coffee
This is a simple, inexpensive coffee maker that makes excellent coffee. With all the usual nods to dribbles and fragility, I've had one for about 10 years and am about to order another one (nothing lasts forever these days).

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't hate this becaue it's cheap!
I had to overcome the fact that this is such a cheap coffee maker.I mean, I LOVE coffee therefore I can justify spending more on a coffee maker! But it's just SO not necessary!

Wake up and smell the coffee--not just freshly brewed coffee but freshly ground coffee for full-bodied flavor. This coffeemaker does everything but serve a steaming cup on a silver tray. For the full experience, here's how it goes: pour water into reservoir (a window gauge shows the desired level up to 10 cups); spoon roasted coffee beans into permanent stainless-steel filter basket (no disposable filters needed); program mill to grind beans as you wish (seven settings, from fine to coarse); set clock to current time of day; program timer to begin automatic grinding and brewing process at the hour and minute you wish; sleep like a baby; savor coffee precisely as you like it when you awake. Ground coffee can be used instead of whole beans, and the whole coffee-making process can be initiated instantly without setting the timer. Other attributes: dripping ceases when the tempered-glass carafe is removed from the nonstick warming plate; shutting down is automatic after one hour to prevent damage; cord stores in the rear of the unit. This is a thoroughly modern coffeemaker, suitable for people who take coffee seriously but crave convenience. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the Price
I studied and researched for a long time on the grind and brew makers.Melitta was by far the least expensive and has really pretty good reviews from others.I have used this machine almost every day since last December (10 months now) and have never had one single problem. I use the timer mode and that is what I wake up to every morning.I am a light sleeper so I don't even set the alarm. I wake up when I hear the machine start to grind and wait a few minutes to get out of bed and go out to the kitchen and voila, it is done and fresh and wonderful. This is my first review I put on Amazon because I felt so strongly about this great machine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Weak Cold Coffee
I read all the reviews here on Amazon and thought this was the coffeemaker to buy. Most of all I wanted a coffeemaker that had a brewing tempature of 195 to 205. This is needed to fully extract all the oils and flavor from the bean. I was disappointed when the pot arrived and I brewed the first cup. The coffee was tepid at best. I knew the brewing temp was too low. I then checked the water coming out of the brewer and it was only 175 degrees. I have to microwave every cup to get hot enough to drink. The coffee is also very weak and I have to add extra beans to get any flavor. One trick I did find is to wait for the beans to grind and stop the brewer. Then I remove the brew basket and shake it to get all the grinds to go to the bottom of the basket. This seemed to make the coffee stronger. Oh well, back to the search for a hot coffeemaker

1-0 out of 5 stars Fundamental Design Flaw
I have been buying coffeemakers for a couple of decades and purchased a Melitta a few years ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Flavor!
I haven't tried coffee in it yet, but did try Irish Breakfast Tea, it was really, really good!It brought out the flavor of the tea much better than brewing in a coffee maker, and much STRONGER.One reviewer wrote about that, and they were correct, it will have you buzzing around if you aren't used to it!The only drawback I have experienced is I don't have a dishwasher and it's a little time-consuming to get the grounds completely out of the filter.Other than that, I'm very pleased with the quality/taste this coffee press provides!Would highly recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good (large) French Press
I have a 3-cup french press (which btw is only about 1 'American' cup), but I needed something bigger when I have to make more than my cup of coffee in the morning. Despite its bargain price, this coffee press is very good at what it's supposed to do. The filter fits tighter than my 3-cup press, so no coffee grinds pass through the gap (b/w its filter and the glass) even when you press down hard. I first thought it looked flimsy and cheap, but so far this has seen more use at my home than my old coffee press.

5-0 out of 5 stars Proud owner
After buying a single cup coffee press I was ready to step up and this was the perfect buy.I love the quality of the press. The mesh is fine enough on the press to hold the coffee grounds in place. The press slides down smoothly and there is a great seal on the lid to keep it from falling off when you pour the coffee into your cup.I thought I could not live without my coffee maker - now the only other coffee I drink is a Mocha from Starbucks. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wow this is really GREAT for loose tea too!
Not a big coffee drinker but do love all sorts of loose teas! This product was recommended to me from another tea drinker & it really works fabulous!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lives up to the hype!
Okay, to some the idea of using a French press coffee maker is a little too precious, bordering on snobbishness. I used to be in that boatuntil a few hours ago.Tonight on a whim, I purchased this Bodum French press. Now I should warn you readers that it is generally NOT a good idea to test out your shiny new french press when you are getting home at 10:30pm on a Monday after spending way too much money at Target when you just ran in to get "dog food".I write this review so heavily caffienated that I will probably stay up until dawn tonight re-organizing my closets or alphabetizing my CD collection or doing some other useless task.Despite being a dailycoffee drinker (of the muddy variety the office's Bunn machine churns out), one cup from the french press has knocked me into the stratosphere, and that alone is worth giving this product 5 stars.

I love the flavor of rich, full-bodied coffee. So when my son left for college last month, I purchased a small 4-cup drip maker. But somehow the paper filter affected the taste of the coffee, so I bought a metal screen filter and that was better. But then a friend had one of these 4-cup percolators and the coffee was best I'd ever had!

4-0 out of 5 stars convenience at a price
My wife and I only drink one cup a day and we have different preferences for flavor, caffination, etc.So a single brew machine is ideal for us.We're both very pleased with the taste and convenience of the B-60.Because the cofee is brewed directly into the cup, there's no burned or "stale" taste from an automatic drip machine carafe/hotplate.There's the great convenience of just pushing a button and simple clean-up.The variety of K-cup coffees on the market easily meets our needs.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great coffee maker!!Great tea maker too!!
Great coffee maker that makes a good cup of coffee and a good cup of tea.If you're exceptionally picky about your coffee, you might be disappointed since it does not rival a well-made fresh ground cup of joe, but the Keurig allows you to brew a good cup of coffee and tailor it to your specific tastes. My wife likes decaf and I like strong caffeinated coffee, so this offers the ability to make everyone happy. The selection of k-cups for both tea and coffee is much better than other single cup systems. The coffee from Timothy's is my favorite, especially the ultra dark roasts. The other plus for this unit over the other pod systems is that you can purchase a small filter which allows you to use your OWN custom ground coffee and blends.Good selection of teas from Twinings and Celestial Seasonings.System brews a good cup of tea that is smotth and not bitter. The downside is that we haven't found a good local source and have had to buy from the internet from both Amazon and Ebay. Ebay allows you to buy individual k-cups so that you can sample different blends and brands before you buy the big boxes. Local stores have just a few brands and don't reflect the much larger variety available for the Keurig system vice the other pod systems. We're glad we bought this unit!!
4-0 out of 5 stars Best single-serve coffee maker available!
I agree with the Mad Hatter. This machine is very attractive and well-made. It can be Ready to Brew at all times [if you leave it on]. Until I received the "MY K-CUP", I didn't like most of the coffee choices. Now I can use my own coffee beans! I use 1/2 coffee scoop of my coffee for a Travel Mug size.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Filters
Wow! Finally a product that does what it claims to do; it filters water! Incroyable!

4-0 out of 5 stars they work fine aslong as you prep them properly
I have always used the water filters and had no complaints.Just make sure you soak them for a few minutes and run a few cups of water (no coffee) through your coffee maker when you put a new one in.This will eliminate any stray charcoal in the first pot of coffee you brew with a new filter.

5-0 out of 5 stars may use these in lieu of KitchenAid 3-pc. Charcoal Filters
Since KitchenAid has shamefully discontinued their 3-pc. Charcoal Filters KCMCF essential for their coffee makers, you can easily use these Capresso 4440.90 3-pack Charcoal Water Filters instead; they're a perfect fit! Just save and reuse the little black plastic filter holder and replace the white filter packs inside. Thank you Capresso! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Percolated coffee is an acquired taste, but for those who like it strong and black, this stovetop coffee pot is the way to go. The percolator's polished stainless steel exterior and stepped base give it a vintage look and its brewing methods are strictly old school; however, its construction is completely up to date. Water pours into the bottom of the pot and the pump tube with the filter basket goes in next. Coffee drinkers add their grinds to the filter basket and then place the cover over the basket. Once the lid is tightly secured, the percolator can be put on a gas or electric heat source for brewing. When the water boils, it travels up the pump tube and through the grounds and the familiar sloshing of brown liquid in the lid's transparent plastic knob signifies that percolation has begun. After about 5 to 7 minutes of percolating, coffee is ready for drinking. This pot brews about 4 to 8 cups of coffee and a handy water level indicator etched into the side ensures that brewers add the appropriate amount of water for their grinds. For safety, the plastic handle stays cool over a hot burner and the spout provides dripless pouring. Read more

Few things say "American kitchen" better than the sound of percolating coffee. The Farberware Millenium percolator is an attractive, heavyweight stainless-steel addition to any kitchen, providing fast and trouble-free coffee making--and that classic percolated coffee flavor. Leave it out on the counter, or put it away. The short cord is detachable, so you can bring the pot to the table to serve. While the pot is plugged in, however, it maintains the coffee at a "Keep Warm" temperature. Read more

So far so good.Makes great tasting coffee.Brews coffee as fast or faster than those "drip machines".Two minor complaints - I wish it had an indicator light to show the unit is plugged in, and should have a water level indicator.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Very noisy and takes too long to brew.Boxed it up to return but I misplaced the packing slip. Will keep using mom's very old Corelle electric percolator.

That's what I have to say.I measured with a tape measure and took the time on bodum site to compare dimensions.I always get 3 full MUGS - for me that's your usualy 3 finger hold greasy spoon style mug.So, This 4 cup thing must be those little coffee cups that grandma uses.

Bodum is a fantastic line. Anything they produce is fabulous, like this beaker.

5-0 out of 5 stars works great
After reading the reviews, I decided to try these, since I wasn't too thrilled with either the cost or quality of the senseo pods. After getting my three sets in the mail, I went to my grocery store, bought the Starbucks Sumatra whole beans, ground them to expresso grind, and went to try the ecopads. I followed the instructions, put the ecopad in the machine (perfect fit), hit the 8oz button, and wa - la! I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between the stuff you pay $3.50 a cup for at Starbucks. I'm definately hooked. I can't see how other reviewers have had problems with these. They are easy to fill, and fit perfectly in the machine. They are a bit messy to clean up, but its a fair trade off for the awesome coffee and the cost savings over the pods or actually going to starbucks. I would estimate I will get 50-60 cups out of a $6 store bought bag of coffee. Basically, one heaping teaspoon fills up the ecopad perfectly. Also I would estimate getting hundreds of uses out of each ecopad - they seem very durable. I am looking forward to trying different coffee's with these. Well worth the tiny investment!

5-0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly
If you know how to grind your own beans (and adjust that grind) it'll work great!Easy to fill and clean if you don't mind putting forth a minimum of effort. If you want a quick hassle-free cup of coffee buy the regular gross senseo pods, if you want to take 2 minutes to brew an excellent cup of your favorite coffee, buy the ecopad.

4-0 out of 5 stars Useful, but don't lose that lid!
When I tried the Senseo with the original Douwe Egberts medium roast coffee I was hit by how harsh and acidic it was, so I decided to try it with the EcoPads and the same coffee I usually use with the Toddy cold-brew system. The coffee made this way tasted slightly weak, oddly, and you can only make a single 4 oz cup at a time when using the EcoPad because of the way it fits in the holder. However, it was enough for me to realize that the main problem was the Douwe Egberts coffee, not the Senseo process.
