    Editorial Review

For fluffy, evenly sized cheese shreds, this is the perfect grater. Its design is based on that of a rasp, the small and efficient woodworking tool. The cutters are especially sharp, which guarantees easy grating. But this also means you'll need to exercise extra caution--no one likes grated knuckles. The large handle allows for a firm grip, and the completely flat grating surface makes it easy to move the cheese across the blades. Carrots, onions, and medium to firm cheeses all worked beautifully with this grater. It's also an excellent choice for larger strips of citrus zest or ginger. Read more

    We love this item!
5-0 out of 5 stars EASY!
I have watched chefs on cooking shows use this microplane and thought I would give it a try. I am thrilled. The first time I used it to zest a lemon, it took the zest and left the pith behind. I plan on using this item for many, many things and I know it will work just fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential tool
You can't do without one these days. But its origins lie beyond the ultra-modern 21st Century kitchen.

Winner of the RedDot design award in 2005, this Zyliss rotary grater set makes traditional stand-up models look like relics. Two interchangeable rotary drums with large, clog-free barrels click in and out of the white plastic housing to transition easily between fine and coarse grating. The large handle flips open to store the uncut cheese and features a non-slip thumb rest for a safe, secure hold. Just turn the barrel lever with the other hand, and the tool works its magic. For serving directly onto salads or pasta dishes, the snap-in funnel directs the cheese to go right where it's intended. When not in use, the compact grater folds down to store neatly in a kitchen drawer. All parts go safely in the dishwasher--no more reaching into awkward, sharp places to clean up. A favorite among professional chefs, this modern tool is sure to become a kitchen favorite as it grates hard cheese, nuts, or chocolate. It measures approximately 7-1/4 by 3-1/2 by 10-1/4 inches and comes with a five-year limited warranty. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Cheese Grater yet !
I have bought many cheese graters over the years trying to find the perfect one to grate Cheddar cheese, with it being a soft cheese that's a real test for a grater.....but this is the first grater I have ever bought that did a perfect job...It's easy to crank (because of the larger handle it has) and it's really easy to clean because the grater barrel is bigger around than other graters....I have gotten rid of all my other graters that I have now because this one is simply the best !!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Slippery Grater
This item grates cheese well and I love the funnel, it helps direct the cheese where you want it.What I didn't like about this grater is that it is hard to hold on to.It's made of a very smooth plastic and it is very narrow toward the back. The whole time I was trying to grate cheese my hand was sliding toward the back of the grater, making it hard to keep a firm grip and keep the cheese pressed against the wheel. It says that is has a non-slip grip, but there is only a small spot with rubber where your thumb sits. ... The fun of fondue gets a sleek and convenient makeover with this Cuisinart electric fondue maker. Designed for use with oil, broth, chocolate, or cheese, the set combines powerful electric heat with easy temperature control and handsome but tidy construction. The 3-quart stainless-steel bowl is lined with nonstick coating for keeping heated foods from sticking, and the stand, bowl, ring, and temperature probe all assemble and disassemble easily. A combination of finishes--brushed on the bowl and ring, mirror on the stand and handles—gives the unit a contemporary flair. Heat up is efficient here--getting oil to 375 degrees F takes between 10 and 15 minutes. Best of all, you can change the temperature setting with a simple turn of the dial to adjust for different ingredients or the passage of time. For clean up, run the entire set (temperature probe and cord removed, of course) through the dishwasher. A set of eight color-coded fondue forks is also included. Fully assembled, the fondue maker stands 6-1/4 inches high; the bowl is 8-1/4 inches in diameter at the opening. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One Awesomd Fondue Pot
This is all you could ever want in a Fondue pot.So much so, I bought two of them!It heats up quickly, cools down quickly and absolutely nothing sticks. As another reviewer stated, "Goodbye Sterno!"Works equally well with cheese, meats and seafood.

3-0 out of 5 stars Some great design with some serious drawbacks
Being a fondue lover, when I first saw this new Cuisinart electric fondue maker, I had an "Aha!" moment, and purchased the pot looking forward to a future of only using those smelly little sterno cans for nicely subdued pink outdoor lighting, (yes...I am kidding), instead of heating my food. At first blush, this Item has some great features. Large pot, detachable cord, easy clean nonstick interior, full immersability and variable heating temperatures. Now for the bad news. The pot does not detach from the ever so immense and functional stand, making it a very large pot indeed. difficult to store, almost impossible to refrigerate in newer center split refrigerators that have smaller shelf space....like mine. Tres cumbersome. The cord is extremely short, almost always calling for an additional extension cord. Fabulous if you like that industrial look while dining or entertaining, unfortunate if you don't. The worst flaw? The tendency to heat unevenly dang it! Because the heat is concentrated around the widely spaced heating elements on the bottom of the pot, we have noticed that this is creating marks in the non stick surface and overcooked areas and even burns the cheese at the bottom of the pot. Quelle horreur! Now we see clearly why this pot is non-stick. It has to be if there is even a remote chance of getting the burnt bits off without using dynamite. We tried far lower temperature settings,or even varying the temperature, thinking this would remedy the problem, but then instead of the one true hot, gooey, melty fondue, we ended up with semi-chilled, semi melted cheese lumps. Not as appetizing as you might think. No doubt, a better product for oil than cheese or chocolate. Also, No lid sigh...Well, I guess you can't have everything, but this Cuisinart fondue pot is sleek and pretty and burnt bits or not, at least I'm only using the left over sterno for "candle-lit" baths until it runs out (...yes...I am kidding again). However, I am still looking for a better fondue pot.

5-0 out of 5 stars So far, so very good...
Just purchased the Cuisinart electric fondue pot and so far, I've been really pleased with it.Have done both oil and cheese fondue with it and both turned out quite nicely.Heat control settings dial in accurately, the non-stick surface on the inside of the pot makes clean-up a breeze, and the magnetic cord disconnect makes transferring the pot from countertop to dinner table (or even the living room floor if you really want to go 70's!) safe and easy. The stainless finish on the pot and chrome legs make it a smart-looking package, too.:-)

    5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful--though a bit hulky.
This is just a great piece of equipment. It works beautifully and is so thoughtfully designed with the storage container. It is, as others mention, a pretty large size. You need to make more space for it--but this feature also makes it easier to use (sturdier and with larger cutting surface). If I were ordering again I might instead go for the microplane one because of its somewhat more delicate appearance [I've used it and it's also superb}--but I have no complaints about this.

4-0 out of 5 stars nice, bu could be a few bucks less
the quality is there, it works very well at the tasks designed for. very solid and all that. it is a grater plain and simple. my only issue is price, i'd say it would/should only be in the 14buck arena.

3-0 out of 5 stars Some design flaws
As I do a lot of home cooking from scratch, I was attracted to this product because of the bottom container with measurements thereon. Unfortunately the container is a dark charcoal, making seeing anything inside almost impossible. And, although most of what you are grating falls into the container bottom, quite a bit still falls in front of the grater (even if tilted backward at an angle), creating somewhat of a mess. Guess I'm back to using my flat metal grater which either hooks over the edge of a bowl or sits inside the bowl. Try again Kitchen Aid. ... Read more

This versatile cheese slicer glides through hard or semi-soft cheeses with ease and makes light work of creating cheese trays or hors d’oeuvres for a party. The slicer measures 7-3/4 inches from head to handle’s end and has a thick plastic handle with stainless-steel accents for more controlled movements. The head of the slicer has a 4-inch-wide wire and roller made of heavy-duty stainless steel, which is less likely to snap under pressure when cutting through heavier cheeses. For additional durability, the wire and roller are mounted to a sturdy fiberglass-reinforced nylon frame with cast bolsters. This professional-level slicer is dishwasher-safe for easier cleanup. KitchenAid offers a hassle-free replacement warranty on this slicer during the first year of ownership and a lifetime limited warranty on it thereafter. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not good
The wire broke off as I was slicing my first slice of chedder cheese.Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this cheese slicer.Last I checked, they're supposed to last longer than one slice.Maybe mine was faulty...but regardless, I expect better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works well
Cuts very easily. However, it's not easy to get that last half centimeter due to the shape of the part holding the wire. Not really a big deal, and a common problem to this style cheese slicer (only style I've never had this problem with is the paper-cutter-style cheese slicer...the one with the board and the hinged slicer).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
A very multiuse tool. It cuts different kinds of cheese ina very smooth way. If you have a party, it's wonderful to prepare hors d'oeuvres. It cleans easily.

    Editorial Review

Diehard s’mores fans will take year-round pleasure in this indoor/outdoor Casa Moda s’mores maker. Though it doesn’t have quite the cachet of a bonfire, the tidy little unit does have everything necessary to cooking and compiling s’mores ingredients. The centerpiece of the appliance is the 5-1/4-by-5-1/2-inch marshmallow-roasting grill, which runs on a 2-6-ounce can of chafing fuel, such as Sterno (chafing fuel not included). The grill includes a burner for the fuel, as well as a handle and a snuffer to extinguish the flame. A lazy susan base holds the grill as well as the thick white ceramic containers for the graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows. Casa Moda also includes four roasting forks and a clear set of instructions. A fun item to pull out for late-night snacking or movie marathons, the unit is highly functional if not terrifically stylish. It also beats a bonfire in your living room. All pieces should be washed by hand. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Requires Patience
Works as advertised, after some experience with the product. The key to using this properly is finding the correct "toasting height" above your heat.Like a real fire, too close and your mallow will be burning.Too far away and you will be there forever. As another reviewer noted, the toasting area is small, so you will get at most 2 people toasting at the same time.Still, this is a fun product for indoor smores creation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Fondue Pot
We love to use this pot. We've made cheese, meat, broth, chocolate fondues in this pot without any problems several times. It heats up quickly, cleans up easily. A good feature is that the electrical connection (magnetically connected) will snap off very easily if it is bumped into and the pot doesn't move at all.

4-0 out of 5 stars Was waiting for the Cuisinart to go on sale.
However, the local Target store has this one at a $29.99 everyday price, so you don't have to worry about a shipping charge (Sales tax is considerably less.).The whole reason for the short cord and easy plug release is consumer protection.Perhaps Rival should have this 'boisterous child safe' version and create an adult version for the rest of us.

Cheese, nuts, and chocolate can be grated ahead of time with this rotary grater, and stored conveniently right inside the silicone-sealed chamber until ready to use. Or, cut the exact size chunk you want to grate, insert it, seal it, and just before serving you can churn out a fresh sprinkle of parmesan on a casserole or flourish that whipped cream topping with a dusting of dark chocolate shavings. To use, squeeze the soft-grip handles with one hand, which causes the silicone-edged feeder to push the food against the sharp stainless-steel grating cylinder, and turn the soft rotating knob with the other hand. A plastic cap on the barrel keeps grated pieces contained, or removes to let the food grate directly into a bowl, on a pie, etc. The stainless-steel grating cylinder measures 3 by 1-1/2 inches, while overall the grater measures 6 by 5 by 3-1/4 inches. Easily disassembled for cleaning, the entire grater is dishwasher-safe. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk.
I wish I would have read the reviews on this product before I purchased it.It is a piece of junk.I used it twice. The second time I used it it wouldn't grate the cheese and it made a clicking sound when I turned the handle and then the handle broke off. What a waste of money.Makes me think very differently about Good Grips products. One more thing - it wasn't very comfortable to use which I thought the Good Grips products were supposed to be.

3-0 out of 5 stars works great, but.......
it didn't last us very long.If you are grating hard cheeses, the plastic construction of the handle makes it very unlikely that it will hold up for a long time.It really should be stronger. Our handle broke off in the middle of grating some parmesan.Other than that I loved how you could seal the cheese inside the grater after you were done using it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect! Works great on all cheeses!
I have used this to grate dried peppers, parmesean, romano, cheddar, pepperjack, and goat cheese. I have to completely disagree with previous negative reviews. I bought this for the gripiness. Little did I know that it does do it all. It works on hard cheeses and soft cheeses. If you don't manhandle it, it will not break...just like most THINGS on this planet. Don't force it. Grind it backwards a couple of times once in a while. That loosens things up a little. Let the grinder do the work. Forcing will break it and is not necessary. It disassembles and washes up great on the top shelf of the dishwasher. The best feature is the ability to keep your cheese fresh while in the refrig. Smart item, easy to use, a great buy and highly recommended. ... Read more

We had a lot of fun with this fountain at a couple of parties. It's a little noisy, but you won't notice it if it is a larger party.Everyone loved it and asked where I got it.I bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond for about $40 using one of their 20% off coupons that come in the mail almost every week.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK JUNK JUNK !!!
I didn't expect great things from this machine, considering the price. But I did expect at least the very minimum. I bought 2 because I knew I was hostessing 3 baby showers this year & thought it would be really nice to have 1 machine flowing milk chocolate & a 2nd flowing white, with a nice tiered arrangment filled with fresh strawberrys & assorted fruit. Maybe a tier of nice cookies...WOW I was so dissapointed the 1st time I used them, what a nightmare! They don't flow smoothly at all,one of them malfunctions badly & the 2nd is not much better! I even tried them at the 2nd baby shower thinking maybe I was being unfair or had done something wrong??? Nope exact same horror! Clean-up is not a good or easy thing either! I have packed them up & they are going back! For that 3rd shower I will dip my own strawberries & make a pretty arrangment, stress & clean-up on that will be much much less! I am so frustrated over the machines I hate that I even have to give them 1 star. ... Read more

Fondue has gone in and out of vogue over the years, but it's firmly back "in" now, probably for good this time. 4-0 out of 5 stars A very functional fondue pot
This is a very large capacity fondue pot - it was much larger than the pots used at our local restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise, you can easily serve a family of six or even eight without constantly reloading the pot.One unexpected thing about the pot, that I think other reviewers have mentioned, is that the temperature is almost too hot. It is nice how fast it heats up, but unless you fill the pot, it can seem too hot even on the lowest setting.I would recommend this more for bullion-based fondues than for cheese fondues just based on the temperature problem, though by setting it on the lowest temperature setting, we were able to have a very good, albeit very hot, cheese fondue.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Performance
The merchandise was sent promply and in perfect condition. I would definite buy from this seller again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most used pan in my kitchen!
Perfect! This is of course good to warm butter or make a little bitty sauce - but who does that every day? We use it to heat the cream for our coffee, reheat the cold tea or soup, and make real hot chocolate last thing at night. Good balance on the stove and cleans up easy. Cute too!

5-0 out of 5 stars More than one
I have two of these Warmers and use them for much more than butter - especially around the holidays. They are heavy duty, which you don't see by the pciture, and are also great for melting chocolate, cheese, scalding milk, and much more.If you need a smaller pan for cooking project, I stongly recommend this one!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful little pan!
I use this pan for making hollandaise sauce, and other sauces that make about a cup.It works for warming butter or making a basting sauce for somthing on the grill.Barbeque sauce warms up nicely for barbeque ribs.I know I will find other uses for it, too, but I bought it especially for packaged sauces that make about a cup.The base is nice and solid, it won't blow over beside the barbeque grill! ... Shaving off thin, even pieces of cheese with a knife can be a tricky. Hand-held cheese slicers designed to be drawn across a piece of cheese, make the task much easier. Trudeau's adjustable cheese slicer makes the job easier still, with a steel roller that creates a smooth slicing motion. The soft, rubber handle of this slicer also has a ridged thumb spot for a no-slip grip, and is slightly curved for extra leverage. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Handheld Cheese Slicer
The Trudeau Adjustable Cheese Slicer is simply the best handheld cheese slicer I've ever used. It's ergonomic, sturdy, smoothly operating, easy to adjust and easy to clean.

3-0 out of 5 stars Had high hopes for this one....
I really liked it. It's a sturdy product with a great feel.Best one I've ever had until the wire broke. No problem!!It came with an extra wire. However,no one in my family can get the new wire in place! It appears to be a smidgen (very precise term of measurement....) too short.I get one little "cube" in place, but the other doesn't stretch far enough to get into its hole.My husband & I fiddled with it for a week.I wrote to the company, asking for help.I asked if there was a trick to using the replacement wire. I also expressed an interest in purchasing extra wires (to have on hand in case it breaks again). The instructions I received was a scan of the back of the packaging, telling me how to adjust the wire for different widths. *sigh*That wasn't the problem.I also found out that they do not sell replacement wires! You only get the one that comes with it.However I commend the company for their quick reply, and for their warranty. There is a 5 year warranty, and they will replace the entire slicer if both wires break. You do have to send in the "damaged" one.It really would be a whole lot simpler if they explained how to replace the wire, and offered additional wires (free or for a nominal fee) to their customers.

1-0 out of 5 stars OVER HYPED.
ACTUALLY I WOULD NOT RATE THIS ITEM WITH ANY STARS.

    3-0 out of 5 stars I wasn't happy.
The first time I put the spreader in the dishwasher, it came out with a bunch of small rust spots on the blade.I've tried to buff them out, but they are still there. It looks dirty so I don't even use it anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars you need a spreader & this one is great
....the larger surface area is idea for spreading toppings on bread, esp. soft bread that is not toasted.I had an OXO spreader for years and am just about to order another one.All their small cutlery (they used to sell a mini knfe block set) is great, and the spreader is no exception.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids!
I got one of these with an Oxo bagel holder, and frankly I don't use it all that often. Mykids are another matter. They tell me this is MUCH easier to make PB&J sandwiches with. They use it for jelly on toast, making sandwiches, putting cream cheese or butter on a bagel, etc. If you're an adult accustomed to just grabbing the nearest table knife, Iwouldn't bother. But ifyou've got kids, youmight want to consider it. The smaller size and grippy handle seems to be easier for smaller hands to handle - andhey, they can make their own sandwiches to take to school! ... Read more

For fluffy, evenly sized cheese shreds, this is the perfect grater. The cutters are especially sharp, which guarantees easy grating. But this also means you'll need to exercise extra caution--no one likes grated knuckles. For ease in resting the grater on the counter while in use, there's a hard acrylic frame around the metal. The frame also prevents scratches to your countertop. The large handle allows for a firm grip, and the slightly curved grating surface makes it easy to use with oddly shaped chunks of chocolate. Carrots, onions, and medium to firm cheeses all worked beautifully with this grater. It's also an excellent choice for larger strips of citrus zest or ginger. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy Microplane products if you live in Europe!
Fantastic product, but way overpriced in Europe. The company website lets you order online, but has separate websites for both USA and Europe. You can only order from USA website if you live in USA.We europeans are forced to pay highly inflated prices of more than 120% markup (i.e. more than double) that of the prices on US website, and if you search around to shop in Europe you will find prices much the same.
3-0 out of 5 stars NOT up to par
Yes, this is still an improvement over box graters. However, it is not fabulous.
5-0 out of 5 stars Go to for quick jobs
I use this for grating brick cheese whenever I need a relatively small amount -- like cheese as a garnish, not cheese as an ingredient. For big jobs, I head for the food processor.Sometimes in a moment of insanity, I whip out a box grater.I think this is a lot safer than a box grater, but maybe not as fast.

Ceramic is the material of choice for over-the-candle warming because it holds in the heat without letting the flame burn your butter or damage the delicate texture of your sauce. These petite, white his-and-her pots hold about 3/4 cup of your favorite dip. Dainty wire stands suspend the pots at an appropriate distance from the tea light. 5-0 out of 5 stars Better butter warmer
The large bowl allows for a lot of melted butter to be served. The stand is sturdy, the bowls are attractive and blend in with any china or everyday dishes. Candle flame is low enough the butter will not scorch and burn. Cleanup is a snap.

3-0 out of 5 stars not bad...
These will do the job, but they are somewhat short, so the butter boils and then burns pretty easily. You just have to pay attention during dinner so as to blow out and then relight the candle as needed. It is kind of annoying when you are absorbed in a pile of crab legs or a nice Maine lobster, and carrying on in conversation with your guests. However, for as infrequently as we use these, I couldn't justify spending much more on a nicer set. (I have three sets)For all I know, the nice ones have the same problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Dungeness Crab/Seafood
Worthwhile purchase for those of you who want to keep your butter warm while eating crab or other seafood. While I didn't use the tealight candles that came with the sets because they were not in a separate metal container (I wanted to make sure it was easy to replace used candles), the warmers worked out perfectly at our last crab feast. I would buy again to give as housewarming gifts. ... Read more

The Trudeau electric fondue pot is a triumph of form following function. Being electric it is very convenient to use and arguably safer than "sterno" units. It is versatile and can be used with cheese, meat or dessert fondues.Compared to others presently on the market, it has the distinct advantage of being the only one truly designed for all three types of fondue.
