Baking Grandma's Bread
As an amateur bread baker I was looking for some decent pans to replace the old, nearly rusted thrift store pans I always had to line with foil in order to use - generally to cook chicken in. I have a basic white bread recipe passed from my grandma that makes 4 loaves, and I needed something nicer to practice in if I was actually going to eat the results.These pans are Very nice - light colored on the inside they don't make the crust too dark, and they are very heavy & substantial.They are also non-stick, and I imagine I can cook chicken in there too!I originally purchased 2 to test them out, then 2 more to complete my set.The reason I did not give them 5 stars is they are slightly wider than I would like, which seems to prevent the bread from proofing quite as high.

I received this pan and right away I made banana bread in it. I can't believe how heavy it is and the price is great. The bread came right out and baked evenly. I just love it.

AMAZING bread
I've used this several times to make bread...with spectacular results. I cannot imagine baking bread without it.

Awesome Bread Baker
I haven't tried traditional French bread in this yet, but I made my first loaf of sourdough in it the other day and it was absolutely beautiful. Usually my sourdough turns out kind of flat, and I have to spray water in the oven every few minutes to get a good crust. This was so much easier and the crust was even better than I was expecting. Now I want to get the LaCloche (round) version and see what I can bake with it!

Makes a crunchy crust
I purchased the Sassafras Covered French Bread Baker after a few months of owning the bell-shaped version aka La Cloche. Both of these unglazed dishes make a significant difference in the texture of the bread's crust. I find the rectangular version to be more practical on a day to day basis, as you can make a large loaf that can be sliced up to make sandwiches. It's also a little easier to store.

Great for a every cook!
I bought a set of 4 pieces (square pan, 2 round pans, loaf) and was hesitant about using them despite the comments that it was safe. The first cake I bake turned out wonderfully. The material is sturdy and maintains its form with whatever you put in it; everything cooks evenly, and when you take it out of the oven its cool to the touch plus it is extremely easy to remove whatever you're cooking from the cookware!!You can also use these to make cold desserts/foods!I absolutely love this!!!Its a plus that it comes in pretty colors-- so it looks good on the inside with your food and on the outside too!.

Throw Out Your Metal Bakeware
I think I saw silicone bakeware for the first time on Jacque Torres's PBS show "Dessert Circus" in the mid-90sI did some research and it was quite expensive back then.

I baked two loaves of pumpkin bread, one in my new silicone loaf pan, the other in a metal loaf pan.The silicone one came out so much better, and was so much easier to remove.A little cooking spray before adding the batter and it slipped right out! The Family Bread Baker Loves this Pan
My son has become the family bread baker so for a Christmas gift I gave him this pan. He is so pleased with it, he would likeanother one.I am ordering it today so that yummy home made bread keeps appearing on my kitchen table! Actually, I have owned many All Clad cook and bake ware items for several years and highly recommend everything by this maker.

Expensive but Worth It
I own these & use them frequently. Before baking, I prepare the pans by oiling them very lightly; breads are easy to unmold. I love being able to use metal utensils with the stick-resistant surface.
