5-0 out of 5 stars Love this thing.
Whether you are using traditional or gluten free flours in your bread mix, this pan turns out a pair of perfectly beautiful french bread loaves quickly and easily. When using this pan, even a beginning baker using a conventional home oven can proudly serve french breads that have a professional look, taste, and texture.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Shaped Loaves - At Last!
If you are an amateur artisan bread baker, you've probably had the same problems I have had with shaping your loaves. They are either too short, too flat, or just plain wrong!I finally decided to order one of these bread pans, just to see if it would make any difference at all. What a pleasant surprise - the French bread was perfectly shaped, the crust was outstanding, and there was absolutely no problem with sticking in the holes.I would definitely recommend this pan to anyone who bakes bread at home. One caveat - be sure to reduce your oven temperature by 25 degrees and cover the loaves with foil after 20 minutes to prevent burning.I'd also watch and not use a wet dough since that might just stick in the holes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous pan, highly recommend!!!
If you love to bake, you will love this pan. I have two different Baguette pans, this one and a non-stick non-perforated pan. This pan seems to make bread that is a little bit crisper on the exterior.

The right bread pan makes all the difference in the quality of fresh-baked loaves. 1-0 out of 5 stars bread pans
This product did not even approach what was described.A bagutte pan needs to have a decent-sized curvature so a bagutte shape will be obtained. This pan would have produced a fairly flat loaf.

3-0 out of 5 stars Comme ci, comme ca.
I owned another perforated pan from Chicago but it was bought years ago;the construction of the older model is of heavy aluminum and very sturdy. Since I was so happy with my previous purchase, I bought this one thinking it was of the same quality. Needless to say, I was disappointed. The construction of the nonstick version is flimsy compare to the older one, and its length was an inch shorter. I don't know why they added the nonstick feature. Dough sticking to the pan has never been a problem with the other one.
5-0 out of 5 stars Hundreds of Loaves Later, and Still convinced this is the Best
I started making French bread using this pan about a year ago.I tried several other brands first, but got by far the best results with this pan.I've made hundreds of loaves over the past year using this pan and the results have always been terrific.People ask me to bring the bread to parties, and I even supplied a friend's wedding last summer.I use a recipe from a book called, "The Best Bread Ever," by Chales Van Over, with great results.A French and a Belgian friend have told me my bread is as good or better than anything they've ever had in Paris. ... Editorial Review

One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it’s actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this mini loaf pan bakes six 6-by-3-inch loaves of bread and is perfect for baking holiday gifts, such as pumpkin cranberry bread, in bulk. The pan bakes just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases loaves easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. This loaf pan rests in a nonstick metal wire sled with handles, which offers good stability for transferring baked goods in and out of the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. The metal sled should be washed by hand. KitchenAid provides a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty plus a lifetime limited warranty on this pan. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product at a super price!
Worth twice the price! Would make a wonderful gift!

5-0 out of 5 stars great loaf pan!
My first observation while taking this strange pan out of the box was how big it looked, it measures 13 x 15.5 and another 2 inches counting the handles, also a generous 1.5 deep. The thing is rubbery and flexible and I was skeptical. The sled is great for keeping it stable. I very lightly oiled it rubbing with an oiled paper towel (PAM would work well) as the instructions said and put my whole wheat bread dough into each compartment. Into the oven it went and WOW did it come out great! The loaves puffed up all around even on the bottom, they pulled away from the pan and fell right out! I tried mango bread yesterday without oiling it, it did try to stick a little where the fruit touched the pan, so DO OIL IT LIGHTLY, you also need to cool quick bread a bit as usual before unmolding, unlike yeast bread which jumped right out. I also like that the sides are straight up not angled so when you slice the loaves you get a nice square slice! Nice you can work the pan off the loaf pushing the pan inside out thanks to it's flexible nature. I also like that 3 mini loaves is exactly the recipe for 1 regular loaf, baking time was just a hair shorter then for regular loaves at the same temp. You will be amazed how nice they rise up and evenly cook. Order several when they are only 9.99, they make nice gifts! ... Read more

Editorial Review

One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it’s actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this 9-by-5-inch rectangular loaf pan bakes a scrumptiously sweet banana bread or a soft loaf of homemade white bread just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases bread easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. Oversized rims make the pan easy to lift and transfer to and from from the oven. The only noticeable difference with silicone is that the pans feel a little wobbly as you carry them from tabletop to oven filled with dough and vice versa. Placing this loaf pan on a baking sheet will offer better stability for transferring baked goods and provide a level cooking surface in the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. 3-0 out of 5 stars One flaw
These silicone baking dishes are great except for one flaw that can be major or minor depending on your personal use: You can't cut anything in these pans.If you like to bake something and cut it while it is still in the pan, forget it with these, because the knife will cut right through the pan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Microwave before bake, save a lot of time & energy
I'm able to microwave my cake (for 2-3 min, till it rise-up) before put it into the regular oven for 5-10 min. By doing this, it save me a lot of time & energy; now I am able to make the cake in 20min. This is great. But remember, you'll still need the non-stick cooking spray.
4-0 out of 5 stars Baked Flawlessly
I bought this before reading the mixed reviews on the many KitchenAid silicone items.I thought about returning it after reading about how food sticks and the plastic smell while cooking. There were other reviews, however, that were just the opposite.

This heavy stoneware dish and lid from Sassafras brings an ancient Roman and Greek cooking method to the present day. Once used as a portable oven for cooking bread, fish, and meats, la cloche (or cooking bell) now helps modern cooks bake lighter, crustier bread and juicier fish and meats. The dish also doubles as a rustic serving plate for finished foods. To use, arrange dough or meat on the bottom dish, cover with the domed lid, and place in the oven on the lowest oven rack. Be sure to season the dish and lid before use with a coating of cooking oil for best results.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sassafras La Cloche Brick Oven
Received my Sassafras La Cloche Brick Oven yesterday with the idea that I'd be trying it out this weekend. Unfortunately,I discovered that the thin clay handle was broken off the cover. Now I'm in the process of trying to get it returned and replaced.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great bread, but...
I used La Cloche to make bread with, specifically San Francisco Sourdough, with SPECTACULAR results. The crust was crisp but chewey, and I could not imagine baking another loaf without it. But after I used it the first time, the bottom developed a crack. After a second use, the crack became so large that I will not use it again for fear it will break during cooking.

If you only buy one loaf pan, this classic 10-inch-by-5-inch heavy-gauge pan made of durable aluminized steel would be an excellent choice, as it's wonderful for breads or meatloaf and will last for years. Three inches deep, it holds about 2 pounds of bread dough, making a copious loaf for big sandwiches. The steel turns dark over time as the pan "cures," a natural process, which enhances baking performance and heat distribution. Versatility is the key here, and this sturdy pan will definitely earn its keep. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars These rust indeed!!!
I've had mine for about 5 months now, possibly less. A couple of weeks ago, I noted that it smelled rusty. And indeed the bottom had already started rusting! I used this pan regularly and also noted that it does not bake evenly. I tried to keep the little rust off my food by lining it with foil before baking but it's too much trouble and I still don't feel secure. I don't think I want to use it at all anymore now. I think it will be worthwhile to invest in something pricier but of better quality. This is not worth your trouble. Or try Pyrex for other purposes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Loaf Pan - Gets the job done
This low cost loaf pan does everything you would expect a loaf pan to do. It's dark color absorbs enough heat to produce desired browning. It also releases cleanly. The protruding lips serve as handles (although if they were a little bigger they'd be easier to grip while wearing oven mitts). All in all, this is an excellent buy for a loaf pan - you should buy two since many recipes call for making two loaves.

Those who love to bake know it's an art--a quick dash of nutmeg, 2 teaspoons of vanilla instead of one, stir gently until just blended. After spending so much time--years perhaps--perfecting pound cake or pumpkin bread, are you going to pour that precious batter into just any old loaf pan? Chicago's metallic loaf pan is for bakers who know the right tools are just as important as the right ingredients. A traditional, uncoated pan like professionals use, this 1-pound loaf pan is made of heavyweight steel, which distributes heat evenly. Like a seasoned fry pan, this loaf pan naturally darkens with use, and its performance gets better with age. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars did not get item as described
The decription says it is a 9x5 loaf loaf dish.I was thrilled. I have been looking all over to find one that size in glass.I was so mad and disappointed when I opened the box and it was 8.5 x 4.5.That wasn't what I ordered. And yes when baking bread there is a difference.I am still waiting on my postage-paid return label so I can ship this back. This would have been a great deal, except I already have the 8.5 x 4.5 pans. They need to change the dimensions in the description.Buyer beware!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cheaper than Walmart
I can't see that well so the blue doesn't help me view the bread to determind if it is getting too btown. Other than that, this is one heck of a good deal. Yay Pyrex. Love the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Homemade Bread?Yum!
Won't argue with "slightly smaller" review, but that just means you get a higher loaf, or you buy two and get two loaves.I've been using Pyrex for decades, and one (clear) loaf pan was the one my mother bought back in the 30's -- still makes a beautiful loaf of bread.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pan!
I have used this pan over and over again, and am glad to say it cooks perfectly every time! The bread comes out evenly with a great shape!
5-0 out of 5 stars Great bread *pan*
It's hard to call this a bread pan when it is so pretty and certainly not your average *pan*. I agree with the other reviewer about the beautiful turnout of sweetbreads. The crusts turn out even and brown and I have never had a problem with sticking even when forgetting to grease the pan (which i forget to do.....a lot).I make turkey loaf in mine too and have even used it once for emergency polenta with cheese and tomato sauce. No sticking. That occasion is what prompted me to buy 6 other pieces of Le Creuset stoneware. I highly recommend it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Stoneware
This cookware is not just for breads, try a meatloaf for two. With the even heat distribution from this cookware your meatloaf cooks even, sealing in the juice's. The wide lip makes removing the dish form your oven very easy not to mention safe.

Editorial Review

These 4-bite cornsticks are perfect for adults who prefer the crispy exterior to the fluffy interior of cornbread. And this little cast-iron pan is meant to be around forever--the manufacturer has been making them since 1896! Cast iron is the original nonstick cooking surface--with proper care and seasoning, it turns glossy black, with a hard "crust" that makes sticking a near-impossibility. If you notice sticking, just follow the included directions for re-seasoning. This pan is about as corny as baking pans get--but in a very tasty way. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute ears of corn
I just read a review that if you oil and heat the cornbread stick pans before adding the batter they will come out eaiser, and I didn't do that the first time I used mine, and the cornbread was hard to get out. I'm anxious to try it. I know the more you use and bake with cast iron products the more seasoned they become, and the food won't stick.I should have known how tedious it is to fill these pans before I ordered but all in all they are fun to make for the grandkids once in a while.
