Editorial Review

Just the size and weight of this blender indicates it is a professional grade workhorse. Weighing 15 pounds and standing 19 inches tall, with an oversized base measuring 9 inches square, the blender takes on a prodigious appearance. The supercharged three-horsepower motor and large blades will crush ice with ease and smoothly blend fruit drinks and soups. Only two speeds, high and low, are available, which should cover most needs. The pulse feature is ideal for creating large-particle foods such as homemade salsa and gazpacho.Read more

  • Professional grade 3-horsepower blender tackles smoothies, soups, and ice
  • Oversized, weighty base stays put during use
  • 64-ounce polycarbonate pitcher with integrated blades and nonslip handle
  • 2 speeds plus pulse action; 19 inches high; weighs 15 pounds
  • Wash by hand; 2-year warranty

5-0 out of 5 stars Waring MX1000 review
Pros:
5-0 out of 5 stars Waring blendors are the best.
My Grandmother had a Waring Blendor. My Mother had a Waring Blendor. Why did I have to BUY one instead of "borrowing" one of theirs? Because they gave them away to get "lighter", i.e., cheap, plastic blenders, back in the early eighties. Big mistake. My grandmother died before she had to replace hers, but my mother is on her third cheap blender now. I expect my Waring Blendor to last the rest of my life. Fortunately, I was able to get my grandmother's Waring Blendor Cookbook from the forties. The current model still has the powerful motor, heavy glass container, super-duper cord and top-quality switch that my grandmother's had, sixty-odd years ago.
5-0 out of 5 stars Super Blender
I got this to replace an Oster blender whose motor burned out.I ordered it without consulting my wife.Initially she was not happy because this one doesn't have all kinds of buttons etc.It is also extremely noisy, you have to hold onto it when using it or it will migrate off the counter, it is heavy, takes up a lot of space, it is pricey, and it can draw 12 amps (don't put it on the same circuit as the microwave!)However, these drawbacks are inconsequential if your principal concern is a product that actually does its job quickly and efficiently.Throw the ingredients in, put on your hearing protectors, turn it on, hold it down, and after 30 seconds or less, you are done.I suppose the pulse switch is useful in some situations but I have yet to need it.The plastic jar is also easier to clean than our old one, which had removable blades. My wife is now a believer even though she hates having to admit I was right! If you don't have hearing protectors I strongly urge you to order some with this blender.I measured the sound at 92 dB one foot away when making a particularly thick smoothie. ... No need to worry about burning out this powerful 600-watt motor when crushing ice for margaritas or daiquiris. A count-up timer sounds a continuous beep after five minutes of blending time, alerting busy bartenders. The blender also purees soups, mixes batters, and whips up healthy fruit smoothies with aplomb. Holding a generous 50 ounces, the durable glass jar features a dripless spout for clean pouring. The removable lid cap can be used as a one-ounce measure and allows ingredients to be added during operation. Made of cast metal with a pebble-textured black metal finish, the blender adds a sophisticated look to any kitchen. Cuisinart covers the blender with a limited three-year warranty. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Company!
We bought this blender over a year ago and used it without complaint several times a week. Never smelled "burned rubber."Then all of a sudden it stopped working.Cuisinart told us to return it along with a check for $10.In less than a week a brand new blender arrived on our doorstep!

2-0 out of 5 stars Too much trouble
Looks great in my kitchen but I, too, only use it for shakes & smoothies. It DOES smell like burning rubber nearly every time.I used to think something was wrong with it and now I just disregard it.And after less than two years or making smoothies, I'm replacing the blade & gasket assembly.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cuisinart CBT-500
It is heavy and it is big, so dedicated counter space is best.My biggest complaint however is it is LOUD!I don't use it as often as I thought I would because it is so LOUD, much more so than the processor while working larger, firmer food.I haven't noticed any burning smell yet, but I'm not the primary user either.I love Cuisinart, and have their products throughout my kitchen...but the noise on this one makes me shy away from using it much. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars inconsistant
Put 3 or 4 ice cubes in and they crushed easily.Add more, no problem, add more, machine starts just spinning in place. Now if you add frozen berries, blades still spinning with no action.Add liquid, good results.Add one frozen berry at a time and you get a nice smoothy. If mixture gets too thick, will not blend but just spins blades.I put in a can of sweet potatos added some water, turned dial to "baby food", no blending, blades spinning.Added a LOT more water, and it worked beautifully.I said it's inconsistant because it works great if you keep stirring and poking the ingredients down toward the blades or add enough liquid or make sure you add the frozen things first but not too many of them or one at a time after you've added liquid.Seems like a lot of work but I have nothing else to compare it to.My only other blender is 18 year old oster and couldn't even handle one ice cube so this seems like an improvement.Still might take it back to BBB and try another brand. When it works, and you do everything just right, you get a wonderful results.

1-0 out of 5 stars Two of these in 3 months has stopped working
I bought one of these 3 months ago.Looks great.Works great...for about a dozen uses. Then it just stopped running right in the middle of whipping up a batch of frozen drinks.Since I didn't have a receipt on it I just tried to fix it myself.Nothing seemed wrong. No funny smells. It just stopped without warning.
4-0 out of 5 stars Happy with the purchase
The blender appears to be well designd and well made.I originally opted for a "fancier" unit, but upon discovering that these more expensive designer units have the blades held by a plastic housing, which invariably cracks - bought this one instead. So far it looks like I made a smart buy!!! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Wow. TOO LOUD!
I had read some reviews of this product under the stainless steel model. People said it was loud. I thought, of course it's loud, all blenders are loud. Received it today. Sounds like a jet engine is taking off in my kitchen. Yeah, that loud. The kids had their hands clamped over their ears and my husband and I were screaming over the noise. And I hadn't even added the ice yet! I got a large bath towel to wrap around the base and it muffled the sound somewhat, but I'm pretty sure I have permanent hearing loss.
1-0 out of 5 stars Coupler broke in less than 5 days
This blender looks beautiful, love the copper look.
5-0 out of 5 stars EASY to use, easy to clean & great construction!
We have now owned this for 2 years, and it works just as well as it did the first day. From Gazpacho to milkshakes this is a fabulous blender.( And I have used many different syles).Well worth the money!

Editorial Review

I don't know why the term "soda jerk" stuck, because anyone who whips up luscious shakes is anything but. This nifty Waring drink mixer proves that point, and is really easy to operate. First, slide the 28-ounce stainless-steel mixing cup up under the agitator and secure the lip under the cup holder, resting the bottom on the cup rest. Then, slide the control switch to low or high and that's it. It's versatile, too, and makes shakes or pancake batter, as well as whirring eggs and milk together for a perfect omelet. Best of all, its heavy-duty 2-speed commercial motor whips a cup of cream in less than a minute. And, if you're feeling swank, it mixes up a Grasshopper or Brandy Alexander in a snap. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
I, too, was hesitant about spending this much $$ to make milkshakes; however, the kids love to make shakes and the standard blender is hard for them to clean (not to mention the sharp blades). After our first use, my 15-year-old son said that he was "Ecstatic!". Anyone with teenagers knows how hard it is to achieve an emotional response--normally I get a monosyllabic grunt.

5-0 out of 5 stars Oh happy day!
My family loves old fashioned, real milk shakes. This product works like a dream and I made a perfect milk shake on the first attempt. It is sort of big and I was trying to find a place to store it in my kitchen and my family laughed. Keep it on the counter, they said, it won't be worth your time to put it away! It is worth every penny!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Looks Cute, But...
The Hamilton Beack Drink Mixer looks cute setting on the counter, but the quality of mixed drinks has been disappointing. It may be I haven't gotten the hang of how to use it. The metal mixing shaft and red color sold me on this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!
This Mixer works great! It works fast, not too loud, and doesn't seem to have a problem with hard frozen ice cream. The shakes come out thick and perfect every time, not to mention how great the mixer looks, it has a permanent place on the counter top!We love it!

4-0 out of 5 stars A good product!
I bought this product back in July 2005 and have been using it to make my morning protein shakes. It does a good job of it.I cannot comment on its ability to make icecream as I try to stay away from that stuff. The unit has a very solid construction. The stainless steel glass is great.I just drink my shake from it.So it saves me from having to wash another glass.I just have one small issue with it.You cannot remove the spindle to clean it. You have to use the stainless steel glass with warm, soapy water, put it under the spindle and then rotate it around to clean it.Well, the problem is this - while I am drinking my shake, the spindle is dripping liquid on the part of the unit that flares out on the bottom.Okay, okay, it's no big deal, I suppose. All in all, I like this product, and I would recommend it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product but Don't Loose the Straw!
I love my Blend-N-Go Cup, but recently lost the straw.Fortunately, you can still drink from the cup with the lid screwed on if the drink is not too thick, but if you prefer having the straw, be careful keeping track of it!The only reason I docked one star from this rating is that I couldn't find a replacement the same size as the original anywhere. I contacted the company, expressing my frustration at the idea of buying a whole new Blend-N-Go just to get a new straw, and they were nice enough to send me two replacement straws at no charge. :) It would be nice to see them sell them separately on their site, as well.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sketchy Description
I purchased one of these and it's really nice looking and sturdy. However, despite what the description says, it does NOT work with ALL oster blenders. At least not out of the box. I am waiting on a response from Oster customer service to find out if I can use it at all with my In2itive Blender (model 6700).

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
I unpacked my Blend-N-Go and used it right away.A little milk and a little more ice cream, 45 seconds and I had my milkshake.

My husband bought this for me for my birthday to replace a cheap blender I had been using.I had been unhappy with my old one because it didn't pour well. Not only does this blender pour well, but I didn't realize how fast a blender could blend! We have a lot of smoothies for breakfast and snacks (and some occassional pina coladas, too!) and in just minutes I have a blender of smoothies for the whole family!Really does a great job, with no removable bottom to screw and unscrew every time to clean. It ia neat and all one piece.I just put some hot water and dish soap in it, run it a few seconds, wipe and rinse and it is clean!Great product and works like a dream...one of my best birthday gifts ever! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars RIVAL ULTRABLEND
I have had a Rival Ultrablend that after 7 years of heavy use in our kitchen we will lay to rest because the seal is broken.I have been afraid of this day because we have had the opportunity to use handblenders of other brands and have found that none perform like our Rival. We have found it to be the only one to puree food fine enough for a baby, strong and sharp enough to blend our recipes on our stovetop instead of transferring soups to our blender.Hoping that the new model performs just as well, we are sticking to Rival.

5-0 out of 5 stars Older model
I've had an older model for around six years and it's wonderful!I use it several times per week.Today I just had to write a review because I made cauliflower soup. One partcalled for transfering the soup into a blender in batches. All I had to do was stick the blender into the sauce pan - quick, easy, no mess to deal with!

5-0 out of 5 stars I've Had This Blender For Over A Year
I have been making smoothies almost everyday and they come out great.Put my decaf coffee and 1% milk in the microwave and froth it with this stick-like device and in 10 seconds it froths.Have used it to whip baked potatoes into creamy mashed.Am always thinking I'm over-taxing its little motor, but no, I start it up and its still working. ... None of the metal parts are included, so you'll have to recover them from your old blender (if it's a replacement), and get the proper tools to remove them from one and install them in the other.Be careful, the blades are very sharp. 3-0 out of 5 stars Powerfull Performance but Pretty Loud
Ok, I have owned around 6 blenders in my life. It seems that in my experience they all have a hard time making a smoothee or simular drinks without forming an air pocket around the blade and forcing the user to spoon out the air or shake, tap and jiggle the pitcher to get the air pocket out and continue blending.Keeping enough liquid in the mix can make a big difference but there is always that problem looming in the background.

5-0 out of 5 stars great blender
This is a beautiful and very outstanding blender.I love all the Delongi appliances. This blender has several speeds and types of blending actions. Will turn ice to snow in a matter of seconds.Just like the old Osters did in the 60's.I love this appliance.Great buy for me.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fragile Italian Design with far too many parts
Like many say it has a nice design but functionally it is poor. The Glass Jar has 8 parts, the Steel Jar has 7 parts, and glass jar broke within 6 months of light use.I also second the fact that this unit is prone to leaking and as a professional chef I can tell you this is not worth the time or money as there are better products out there.

2-0 out of 5 stars Form over Function
I bought this blender based on the reviews here, as well as its great-looking design. When I got the blender, only one of those factors came through.

Wonderful discovery. Easy to use with perfect cookie result in no time at all. Made basic spritz dough from scratch, followed directions, put dough in the press, pressed and said "one thousand one", pressed again saying "one thousand two". Repeated andVoila! tray of cookies both beautiful and tasty. Easy to clean machine. Made two batches and batteries are still going strong. Went back to store - bought one for daughter. Going back tomorrow to buy another for a friend. I'm doing a happy Christmas dance with the Elves. So sad others had such problems. Maybe it was their dough recipe? I highly recommend this as the best cookie press I've ever used.

1-0 out of 5 stars Died within 6 months
I bought this blender and the motor died within 6 months--I only used it for an occasional smoothie.Even when it did work, it would leave chunks and sounded as loud as a jet engine.Would not recommend purchasing this model.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad motor and function
I used a cheaper GE blender before I bought this B&D one since I just simply thought a more expensive one can be better. However, it really disappoints me! I just put my grapes in and turned on the blender. No matter how long I tried, I still can drink (maybe EAT)the grapes themselves...not the juice at all. It made me back to my GE blender...:(

2-0 out of 5 stars Awful Blender
I had this blender for less than four months, and it failed to make smoothies. One of the blades busted and the drink started leaking out of the back.
