Quality Construction
We have had this blender for about 2 weeks.It replaced a 12-year old Hamilton Beach basic model blender that had a motor going out.This one is a no frills blender that seems to be very well made, and looks good in the kitchen.Hopefully it will last as good or better than the one it replaced.

Vegetarian Health Conscious Family
This blender is able to make crushed iced drinks in seconds with no bits of ice or frozen friuts found in the drinks. It has toggle speed and on/off switches that are easy even for wet fingers to operate. Best purchase (for the price) I have made in a long time. I use it daily.

Great for shaved ice snow balls!
We have had this for a few years and it works wonderfully. We grab regular ice cubes from the freezer, toss them in, hold down the top and it does the work. I do have to apply a moderate amount of pressure, but it has lasted all this time. I like how the ice is actually shaved, not crushed. Makes a great snow cone or snow ball!

Great gadget to keep the kids happy
This is a must-have for a house full of kids. It works exactly as advertised, but it does best when using the ice blocks. However, one must use considerable pressure to get it to shave the ice correctly, which makes me wonder how long it will last. Great so far!
I recently received my blender and I must say, I'm very happy...so far.I mainly use my blenders for smoothies.Nothing too complicated for a blender I'm guessing.Frozen fruit, bananas, and juice.I am impressed because my first smoothie made with this blender was much smoother and less "seedy"than the smoothies made from my 10+ year old Hamilton Beach blender.
DO NOT BUY THIS
It broke after only using it 5 times.Move on...buy another brand.

They Just Don't Make Them Like They Used To . . .
Waring blenders -- and KitchenAid mixers -- used to last a lifetime. But, in the same way that KitchenAid is not what it was before being sold to Whirlpool, Waring is not what it was since being sold to ConAir (yes, ConAir, the hairdryer people).
Burning Rubber
Upon the first use of this product there was a burning rubber smell. I thought it might go away with time. After a month, it was still there. I contacted Waring about it and sent the product for repair. A month later they sent me back a new one. Same problem, so I returned it to Waring. Two months passed and they sent me back another one. Same issue. All in all, it's taken 5 months to get 3 blenders, all with burning rubber smells. Unless you like that smell in your kitchen DO NOT BUY. Waring would not refund my money and it's already past the 30 days Amazon will accept a return.

Waring blendors are the best.
My Grandmother had a Waring Blendor. My Mother had a Waring Blendor. Why did I have to BUY one instead of "borrowing" one of theirs? Because they gave them away to get "lighter", i.e., cheap, plastic blenders, back in the early eighties. Big mistake. My grandmother died before she had to replace hers, but my mother is on her third cheap blender now. I expect my Waring Blendor to last the rest of my life. Fortunately, I was able to get my grandmother's Waring Blendor Cookbook from the forties. The current model still has the powerful motor, heavy glass container, super-duper cord and top-quality switch that my grandmother's had, sixty-odd years ago.

Best froth ever
After spending time searching and searching for a froth maker, I decided to go with the Froth Au Lait, This was the best thing i could have ever bought. I have tried many of the steam frothers and they either had to many parts, or clogged up on you, not to mention the difficulty it was to run them, This appliance was has been so easy to use and clean that i would not recommend anything else. The froth itself is like nothing in the world and i have not seen any other appliance come close to comparasion.

Worth Every Dollar
I guess my husband got tired of me showing this to him and asking him to guess how much it costs because I got one for my birthday!I looked at this blender for over two years trying to justify buying it, after all it is just a blender, or so I thought.
Is it worth the price?
I fell in love with this machine at a Sam's Club demonstration last weekend.The biggest selling point for me was that the guy made a fantastic tortilla soup using whole, raw (healthy!) vegtables in 3 minutes.My tortilla soup recipe takes at least an hour AND didn't taste as good.Easy clean up.Great recipes.But the price is a bit too high so I haven't let myself purchase it yet.

Vita-mix is great!!!!!!!!
I saw this Vita-Mix and a Home and Garden show in Anaheim Califorina. I was very impressed and wanted to but it but I was low on cash so I waited till I had the money and bought the professional version. It comes with a wonderful DVD and the receipe book is just out of this world. This mixer does everything but cook a steak on the BBQ. The DVD explains all the things it can do like make soup and bread dough. I thought I was just going to make fresh fruit with wheat germ, honey and soy protein drinks. I was totally wrong. And I'm glad I am because it is worth every penny. Make sure you get the DVD and book with any model you choose it is worth it. I love mine and I'm sure you will too. Back To Basic Smoothie Maker (SALPHA500) IS GREAT!
We have had our SALPHA500 for a little over a week. I have made at least 2 blenders full of smoothies using juice, frozen fruits and ice each day. Sometimes 3 blenders full.
Much improved...
I previously owned the Back to Basics Smoothie Plus 600 Model and was pretty satisfied except for the cheaply made plastic pitcher which had a spout that broke early on. This model comes with a glass pitcher and seems better made overall.Still loud when operating, but I guess most smoothie makers are.

we have had 5 different smoothie makers by BACK TO BASICS, and within 2 months of only using them on an average of 2 x a week, they either, crack at the blade, or base. yesterday I bought this one and it laste 30 seconds and quit!We are not hard on our appliances at all! This 18 speed not as good as 12 or 14 speed for Indians
This Product looks good but not good for making dosa or idli because i got 2 of them in 18 months both r gone smoking while grinding rice for dosa.1st one came around 8 months then again i bought the same one because i can use the jars and travel cup but this one also came around 10 months.This one is good for who don't cook indian food.I gave 3stars because this one not made for help indian cooking (indian dosa or idle or snacks). This works good crushing ice blending things.
Not quite right
It's a good machine, but unfortunately - it's kinda hard to deal with. It's too powerful for its settings it seems and it takes a really long time to crush ice.

Its a good blender. We bought it for preparing indian style mixes(dough/batter) and powders.it serves almost all our purposes. Main difference compared with mixers is that its blades are orinted straight upwards, where as in indian mixers you have two sets at two different horizantal levels. because of its blades orientation it doesnt crush the batter with out lot of water. You can use it as a mixer cum grinder but only disadvantage is you have to dilute the dough/batter a lot. ... Read more
