1-0 out of 5 stars Horrrible product with Horrible service
I tried to replace a large Oster Blender jar. I purchased the product from Goodman's. The jar was smaller than advertised and the bottom to the jar did not fit properly and leaked all over. What made things worse was the fact that goodman's customer service was horrible. They had a poor response time, no customer relations skills, refused to deal with the problem, and I ended up throwing out the blender and going to a department store to buy a new one. The whole total event ended up costing me $67. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Blend tropical delights, purée fruit, grate hard cheese, grind spices, whip cream, and crush ice with Cuisinart's Smart Power bar blender. It has seven speeds--stir, chop, mix, purée, liquefy, and an ice crush--as well as a pulse button that can be used at every level. Attached to a heavy-duty motor base with rubberized no-skid feet, the glass jar holds up to 40 ounces. The tightly fitting cover includes a 2-ounce measured pour lid, which is great for taste testing and can be removed for ventilation when blending hot items. The blade should be soaked in warm water and then hand washed; the glass jar is dishwasher-safe. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Worked for a few years, then burn city
I loved this when I purchased it, then I noticed it did not do a perfect job, then it would take a while to get going, then it smoked and died. Not worth it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Make it Stop!
This machine will blend anything! It beat my KitchenAid hands down in that department. The problem is the noise the machine produces on every cycle. It's as loud as an outboard motor. We are afraid of receiving complaints in our condominium when blending our morning smoothies!Seriouly folks, a pair of earplugs should be included in every box.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Food Processor/Blender Combo!
I have used different brands of Blenders and Food Processors from various manufacturers in the past, but beleive me or not, this Blender/Food Processor is really the one I am looking for. It has a powerful motor that can easily break ice, plus the Blender jar is made of really thick, unbreakable material, unlike many other Glass Blender jars. One other feature I like about this combo is its wave action technology, which can continuously pull down the mixture in it and this system really works. The Food processor is large enough to chop/mix fruits and vegetables, and above all it saves a lots of space in my kitchen. I have read a lots of bad reviews from many people about other Combos like this, but I don't know what these people are exactly trying to do with a Blender/Food Processor.

1-0 out of 5 stars Shapen the blades and it will work fine
I bought one of these the first time I saw it because my wife and I had such a good service from or KA Stand Mixer for many years. It looked so well built and sturdy. The noise level was so low, easy to clean, we liked it very much until we tried to make a banana smoothie, the result was banana chunks even after long periods of pulse or different speeds. I called KA service and the lady suggested to try riper bananas or even to puree the banana first in the KA food processor!
2-0 out of 5 stars It cannot puree
I got this as a christmas present so I felt bad selling it, but I had to.It seemed like such a bummer that such a well constructed and powerful blender can't liquify anything (even though it's got a button for that). The blender has a deliberately DULL blade and I could never can a reasonably smooth puree. There's a lot of nice things to say about this blender and it's very easy to take apart and clean.Which is why I was hoping KitchenAid would have a SHARP replacement blade somehow available (think of their mixers and how much attachment stuff they make for that). That would make all the difference in the world to just swap a sharp blade in for soups, and putting the dull one back in for crushing ice or whatever. As far as I know, they don't make a sharp blade for this.Too bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars luv it, luv it, luv it...
It's red and I luv it. Okay, not just because it's red- but I'm soooo delighted that it is. This blender was purchased to replace my existing blender that does not do anything well- forget about grating ice. My first mission was to make slushies and... mission successful. I'm very happy with this purchase and did I mention that I got it in EMPIRE RED, yay! But seriously I have other kitchenaide appliances and utensils and haven't been let down yet. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Inferior Quality
Used it once and the plastic jar developed a huge crack.I didn't have ice in it, just soy milk and thawed cherries. The motor was great, but a leaky container isn't worth it.I'm returning it

1-0 out of 5 stars Absolute Junk. You can have mine for FREE!!
Don't even think of buying this device unless you enjoy spending 15 minutes cleaning up after each use.The pitcher base detaches itself from the pitcher after about 5 seconds of blending making an ugly mess everywhere. After cleaning up that mess and screwing the base on tighter, it detaches itself after another 5 seconds...get the picture!
1-0 out of 5 stars Sleek look - but don't even think about replacement parts
Due to my own fault, I broke the plastic jug of my brand new smoothie bowl. This happened in September - it's now April, 7 months later and each time I've called Villaware to get a replacement jug I'm told by yet another sympathetic individual that they don't have it in stock and - worse - don't know when it will become available.I got a total of 6 uses out of what is now redundant machinery. It was quite noisy, but hey, it's a smoothie maker. They're *meant* to make a lot of noise. If I recall back 7 months, it did make nice smoothies, and looks kind of cool too with the brushed aluminium. It's just a shame that there's no way to get simple replacement parts.I'd recommend pretty much any reputable brand over this one.In my experience, most encourage you to continue to use their machinery by shipping replacement parts as quickly as possible. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great blender
I got this blender yesterday and have made 3 protein drinks/smoothies.I previously had the older kitchen aid model with the 40oz glass jar.I love the jar on this new one. It's huge, sturdy, and the one peice design makes for EASY cleanup. The motor on mine is VERY loud on the highest speed. The base is very solid and sturdy. It seems that this will be a great blender for years to come and am totally satisfied with my decision.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it - Love it - Love it
After going through 2 Waring PBB blenders - one motor died and blades on both pitchers broke soone after purchase - and many hours of research both online and in store I went out and bought the ksb560 today (would have bought it here but I had a 20% off coupon for store). I was reluctant to buy a "plastic" pitcher but this one is light but sturdy and dishwasher safe, although I would not put in dishwasher but just rinse out after each use. The pitcher has small pinholes on the bottom so whenit is turned upside down it drains any excess water left over from washing and does not effect the pitcher otherwise i.e. does not leak contents when upright. On top of that it has a soft grip handle to make holding it easier and is easy to place on and remove from base. A glass or stainless pitcher is also available. The blender base is made of durable metal and not cheap plastic like other models. The clutch on this particular model has been redesigned and better than the other similar KitchenAid 5 speed. I visited KitchenAid's online forum and learned the company actually listens to its customer's complaints about the clutch breaking off so easily. Now for the best part, its quiet!! It blends perfectly and in spite of what others have said about the slight hesitation or what KA calls "soft start" when you first turn it on I really did not notice. The ice crush feature works great, I used it this morning on my frozen strawberries and everything was crushed, no small lingering lumps. I have not used it on ice yet but the manual says you can crush ice without the use of water or liquid which may be a plus for some but ice crushing is not my main use. I use this 2x/day for protein shakes one for me and one for spouse. One more BIG plus and kudos to KitchenAid is that they will replace it if the blender fails within the 1st year and they will arrange for replacement sent to you free of charge.

4-0 out of 5 stars Search for the holy blender...
I have been looking for a blender for a few weeks now. We have started making smoothies at home and burned up our old one. Our girls like the "Chocolate Elvis" recipe from the local smoothie place which contains peanutbutter, bananas, yogurt, ice, and milk. I guess this is really hard on blenders.I bought one at Target 2 weeks ago that had "700 watts peak power" on the box. It died in 2 days. The power spec on the bottom of the blender said 450 watts. I think that is false advertisement. I have seen this on 2 different blenders now.

5-0 out of 5 stars An incredible machine!
I bought the Vita-mix turboblend 4500 two months ago and have to say it is the most worthwhile appliance in my kitchen. I originally used it to make smoothies high in phytochemicals which require a 3 horse power motor. This does an excellent job pulverizing even avocado seeds. However, it purees soups beautifully. No need to add cream for a richer texture. There are a lot more possibilities for this blender which I am looking forward to discover. Easy to clean and maintain. It is an excellent investment.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don'tbuy waste of money and Energy
We bought the Vitamix 5000 about 1 1/2 years ago. Since then we hadonly trouble with the machine. With the easiest load the motor shuts off and I have to put it in the fridge, because it gets overheated. Despite returning it 3 times for repair the issue is still not resolved!
1-0 out of 5 stars Customer service sucks at Vitamix
I just bought the latest model the 5000 and the machine is good but the price is quoted wrong. According to the Manager of Vitamix they add tax at all times so the price you see is not the price they charge at vitamix. If you go through ANY vender they always add extra claiming tax. So if you authorize the price they will attach tax in addition to it. Check your statement when / if you still choose to order. You will have to call your credit card company. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Don't ignore the fine print
This blender looks pretty nice, it is small, and it requires less cleaning than traditional blenders. It is also higher quality than other one cup blenders. That aside... the instructions say that you cannot put the cups into the dishwasher so you must wash by hand. The cups also have measurement marks on the side, but they are very hard to read. One cup was washed by mistake and the plastic became fuzzy.

Editorial Review

Reach for this versatile tool when a stand blender or food processor is too big or inconvenient for the task at hand. And when you do, you won't drag a power cord along, because this powerful, 16-1/2-inch hand blender operates on rechargeable batteries. Fully charged, it runs for about 15 minutes before needing recharging. Then just detach the charger handle and plug it directly into a wall socket. Other virtues of this blender, which goes to food rather than needing food to be brought to it, include a rubber finger grip so your hand doesn't slip when wet; an on/off button on top of charger handle for thumb operation; a dishwasher-safe, detachable blending shaft; a separate attachment for quickly whipping cream or desserts; a counter stand or wall mount for storage; and a 2-cup, dishwasher- and microwave-safe beaker. Clear instructions and recipes accompany the blender. Read more

  • Battery-operated for convenience; runs 15 minutes without charging
  • Ideal for recreational vehicles and outdoor use
  • Charger handle detaches and plugs into wall socket
  • Stores on counter-stand or in wall-mount

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy cordless blender!
I love my Cuisinart Cordless Blender. No cords to get in the way and easy to use when traveling by car--no power cord needed.Charges quickly and can easily be taken apart for storage or transport. This is my second CSB-44N--keep one at work and one at home! I should note that I have had my first Blender for 3 years and it still works great.I run the blender until the battery is discharged before recharging it to avoid battery problems.

1-0 out of 5 stars The "convenience" isn't convenient at all
Cuisinart's ad copy and product directions claim that the charger can be kept plugged into the wall so it's always ready for use. However, this is a nickel-cadmium rechargeable battery.Plugging it back in to recharge before you've fully drained it is DEATH to NiCad batteries! This stupid design decision on the part of Cuisinart almost guarantees a poor user experience.

2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't keep a charge, and maintain a fast enough speed
It's not god awful, but the cheaper plug in one I have is easier to use, not as heavy and bulky, and gets the job done with out running out of steam. ... Read more

Blend ice slushies, puree cream-based soups, or whip up a delicious viniagrette dressing in Krups’ Power XL6 blender. This machine uniquely uses six blades, which, combined with its powerful motor, blends ingredients more uniformly. In addition, the XL6 offers 14 different blending speeds on an easy-to-set adjustable dial, giving you better control over the proper blending speed for your ingredients. Like many food processors, this blender also has a Vari Pulse button, allowing you to blend in spurts and avoid overprocessing. Another special button crushes ice in just seconds for making great frozen juice drinks and cocktails. The blender’s large calibrated glass jar holds up to 50 ounces of food--enough to make huge quantities of soup or sauce without having to puree in batches--and a 3-ounce measuring cup hidden in the lid assists in measuring out ingredients. The locking watertight lid ensures that food won’t escape out the top during vigorous blending and a pouring spout eliminates dripping. The glass jar and blade assembly on the XL6 are dishwasher-safe and the entire unit is covered by a one-year limited warranty. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor packaging= poor customer service
We were very dissapointed when we received the blender. The base had a rattling sound and pieces from inside it were coming out through the bottom!!Too bad...it seems like it would have been a really nice product to use, but we were so frustrated we sent it back for a refund. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars No good ice shaver
I ordered this ice shaver. I plugged it in and used it twice. It was a little difficult to figure out and use. I finally got a bowl of shaved ice. The third time I tried to use it, it just quit. No sound--it was plugged in--no power--no evidence of any kind of burnout, etc. Unfortunately, my husband had already thrown the box away so I can't return it. This was no good for us AT ALL!!! What a piece of JUNK!!!
5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS ICE SHAVER!
This kitchen small appliance is the best one I have owned. When you put in a tray of ice cubes it shaves so much that the bowl ran over.It shaves more ice than you would think from one tray of ice. The recipe book that came with it is great too! I highly recommend this product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very satisifed with this product!
I don't have the experience of using any other ice shaver but was convinced from the reviews that this one was the best. Everyone has raved over this little bugger since we received it a week ago. We took it outside and had all the neighbor kids lined up and we just shaved away! Plus this thing is very sleek, very well designed, very easy to setup, clean, everything. Definately worth the extra few bucks IMHO. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Trendy cocktail party hosts will want to snap up this Art-Deco-inspired manual ice crusher for serving the most authentic Margaritas, Cosmopolitans, and Old-Fashioneds. Not only is the Ice-O-Mat’s handsome design reminiscent of the late 1930s, but the metal and chrome construction also mimics the quality materials used to craft small appliances during that time period. The ice crusher’s lid lifts to load cubes in through the top. With a few turns of the hand crank, the hardened steel blades render cubes into fine or crushed chips (depending on which direction you move the handle) in seconds. Crushed ice is deposited below the mouth of the Ice-O-Mat into the included 12-ounce stainless-steel cup or directly into a cocktail glass. Metrokane offers a limited lifetime warranty on all moving parts of the Ice-O-Mat ice crusher. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Ice Crusher Looks Good
We purchased this ice crusher on Amazon because we couldn't get it in the Target store. If I had seen it in the store and had a chance to see it operate, I wouldn't have purchased it. The crusher is heavy cast iron and steel and has sharp blades, it's just not heavy enough to keep it from sliding across the counter when trying to operating it. If you put a lot of weigh on the top to keep it from sliding, it'll flip over. By the time you've fought it all over the bar and kitchen, all the ice has melted in the catch cup.
2-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but useless
This item is metal and looks like an old fashioned ice crusher, but it is so small that it is useless. Its only 9 inches tall, so if you are expecting a nice big heavy duty machine, forget it. I bought it because I missed the ice in the door of my old fridge, but after trying it several times, I sent it back. It is so small that you rap your knuckles on the counter. I dont think there is a glass made that is small enough to fit in it, so you have to use the little tin cup that comes with it. I takes about three loads of ice to fill the cup, and about 2 cups to fill a glass. You need 4 hands to operate it: 1 to hold the lid, 1to turn the crank,1to keep it from bouncing all over the place, and 1 to hold the little tin cup in place(it slides out and then the ice lands on the base). Then when you finally get a cup fulll of ice, you have to try to get it out of the tin cup and into your glass. I broke the glass the first time i tried it. It hass little rubber feet that fall out and disapear, making it even more wobbly. But as I said in the begging, it IS cute.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too Small, Too Clumsy
This ice crusher has got to be a joke. The tiny cup that receives the crushed ice constantly slips out of position, sendiing crushed ice everywhere. The entire contraption is very small and clumsy to operate. This product is a total waste of money. ... Read more
