LOUD but FANTASTIC!
I primarily make smoothies with this blender, which can be a problem for many other blenders, but not for this one!It crushes ice and blends like a dream.My only complaint is that it is really loud.I had a Kitchenaid 5 speed blender before this one and it was MUCH quiter.I also sampled the Viking blender in a store once and it was also pretty loud.But aside from the sound factor, this blender is easy to use and works just as well as your top dollar blenders, if not better.

Affordable Shave Ice Fun
My family has been using the Hamilton Beach Snowman Ice Shaver for a couple weeks now and we love it. I think it's one of the best things to get kids for the summer. When kids are hot, it's a great way to cool them off with something fun and healthy. Just freeze some grape juice or other yummy, healthy drink, and turn it into a shave ice!

The picture looked like my old one, but the description was different and I didn't catch the differences.These jars come with "clover" lids and square lids.The jars are different and lids not interchangable.Square jars are not flaired out at the top such as the picture represents.A more updated picture should be used. ... Fantastic at everything
Just have to add my kudos to all the others.This device does just about everything better, quicker, & more efficiently than either my Cuisinart food processor or my big KitchenAid table mixer. I can puree HUGE batches of soup in 1-2 minutes right in the pot.The blender is easy to hold.I hardly even need to move it around in the pot to get the soup blended to perfection.I can chop veggies or nuts, or process sauces, pastes, marinades, & 'thick' salad dressings instantly in the easy-to-use attachment.I thought the whisk would be the weak point of this set.It looked thin and flimsy.But I discovered it whips both egg whites and whipping cream faster AND BETTER than my big mixer.It's a big bonus that it is so small, light, and easy to clean.Within a week or two of getting this for myself I bought one for a friend.I now keep my food processor around ONLY for chopping large quantities of veggies and for the shredding jobs.I keep the table mixer ONLY for kneading bread.

Bought for Blade & O Ring
I bought this Blend in go cup to get the blade & the O ring for my blender in my kitchen because I did not find those in any of the store near my home. (Wal Mart, Target etc...).

Great for diet shakes
I bought two Blend-N-Go cups so my husband and I could make smoothies, and they worked great the one time we did it.Then we gave up real food and went on a liquid diet, where you mix flavored powder with water.The Blend-N-Go Cup is terrific for this.We blend the powder with water and a few ice cubes, and it makes the drink thick and frothy like a milkshake, which tastes much better.Also, there are different shake formulas for men and women, so I can't just make up one batch for both of us.The Blend-N-Go makes it quick and easy to make two different drinks at once (but only if you buy two of them).

Broke after second use. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
My first use of this product I was impressed. The second was a different story. It short circuited and tripped the breaker to the kitchen. A second attempt caused the same results instantly. It wasn't even in use at the time but still caused the breaker to flip and the device to become extremely hot. Faulty manufactoring and a product so sub-par that not only does it not work, it's most likely and electrical and safety hazard. Review: not only is it useless, it's basically dangerous.

hurts your finger while you push the button
I do not know what those guys were thinking, but did you notice a bump right in the meedle of the push button? Yes, there is a bump, and it is quite pointy and sharp. Now imagine pushing this button for any time, and you have to really push it hard for this blender to work, and push it for quite long, because the blender is weak, and you will really need a lot of time to get results. And all this time this pointy bump cuts into your finger! it is torture! I got this blender as a gift, or I would send it back. Also, you cannot remove the moving part to wash it, so you have to balance the whole thing while washing, so it will not fall in the water and be ruined.

An Excellent Blender
Overall this is an excellent blender. It's well crafted and sturdy, made of metal and glass. I had a cheap Hamilton Beach in college and it just didn't cut it. I had leakage all the time with the HB blender and the 9 million speeds it had were worthless. As other reviewers here have said you only really need the Waring's low and high speeds. That's it. Seriously.

So far so good with this blender. My only gripe is that is doesn't seem to crush all the ice. There's always a little piece left in the bottom. I jiggle the container, turn up the speed then back down but that ice sliver won't blend.
Great for frozen drinks
One of the hardests task you can ever give to a blender is to have it mix frozen drinks, and after a few tries you learn some things: the smell of a burning motor and the need for a durable blender.Most frozen drinks use ice near room temperature as their primary ingredient.Grind this ice requires a very strong motor, durable blades, and a little knowledge.Waring professional or commercial line Waring blenders will have no problems with preparing frozen drinks which is about as daunting a task as blenders get.Don't be put off by the fact the professional blenders don't have a trillion speeds from ticklish to extreme whirring, you don't need them.I have yet to have any problems with this blender from the day I bought it and I can easily say it's the best blender I've ever used.

Extremely Disappointed
I purchased this blender just over a year ago and it is already broken. The motor has malfunctioned in a severe way. If I hold the base upside-down, the motor will run but sparks fly out of it. Due to the inability to blend upside-down and the fear of sparks, this appliance is now useless junk. I contacted Hamilton Beach to try and get some satisfaction but they claimed it must have broke because I did not know how to use it. How hard would it have been to work with me instead of blaming me? Very disappointed in this product and I will now look for a new blender that is actually a quality product.

Don't buy this for the food processor
This product was a nice idea in theory, but in practicality it only works well as a blender.The food processor is really not useful for anything except maybe rough dicing.The larger pieces of food tend to not be circulated to where the blade rotates, while the smaller pieces of food get stuck where the blade isand you end up with every uneven particles.The blender, however, is good enough by my standards.It has nice thick glass and is fine for crushing ice and making smoothies.

Spend your money on separate blender & food processor
I bought this item thinking I could save space by having both blender & food processor and that is true that you could save space. But I forgot to see the negative part of it. If somethig happens to the motor you will lose both blender & food processor. And thats what happened to me :-( . The motor just stopped working and here I am in search for another food processor & blender. This time I sure will buy separate blender & food processor.

The noise is riduculus!
There is no reason for a blender to be this loud with nothing in it, other than poor quality materials and lack of engineering. I just purchased it and will return it immediately.

TOO LOUD!
I had read some reviews of this product under this model but purchased the copper model. People said it was loud. I thought, of course it's loud, all blenders are loud. Received it today. Sounds like a jet engine is taking off in my kitchen. Yeah, that loud. The kids had their hands clamped over their ears and my husband and I were screaming over the noise. And I hadn't even added the ice yet! I got a large bath towel to wrap around the base and it muffled the sound somewhat, but I'm pretty sure I have permanent hearing loss.
44+ years of use
My old beehive Osterizer blender is over 44 years old, and is used most during the summer months.It was given to me by my uncle the year I was married (1962), and I don't know how long he owned it before that time.The only problem I encountered is my own error...I recently broke the glass container and had to order a replacement.The motor is still going strong (never repaired). I had to face it that I wasn't making my protein shakes because it was way too messy having to clean up both the large mixing bowl on my blender and the smoothie glass everytime I wanted a quick fix.
A Mixed Bag
I wouldn't touch this thing, but my wife uses it all the time to grind flax seeds and to make smoothies.And she's loved it.Especially having a grinder that can be easily washed.When she travels she even takes it to hotels with her and makes almond milk with it.She's had it 14 months and the 4-pronged blade assembly broke.Given the price of the unit, she feels it should have lasted longer than this.When she wrote to Tribest to complain, she was told that she was welcome to buy another blade unit.Bed and Bath sells a cheaper similar product.

Junk!
This thing is a piece of junk! It's the only blender I've ever seen that comes with a "stir stick" to unclog the sides of the jar (where the stuff all goes instead of into the blades). This should have been a clue that the thing wasn't very well designed, and it wasn't. It ALWAYS needed to be stirred when making any kind of smoothie, several times, which made the process a real pain. Also, the drain spout is a great place for food to hide and get nasty. Except for the jar it's pretty cheap plastic. But it's in the trash now because the couleing fried itself after two months. Good riddance!

not good quality
This item broke the very first time I used it. When I pushed the spigot back to release the drink the handle broke off, and you could see it was attached by a very cheap, weak piece of plastic.

600 WATTs, NOT 1500W(only pulse)
This is kinda deceptive.It's really rated at 600W.The 1500W only apply to "pulses."Therefore, only quick bursts is it's rated at 1500W, while the usual running is still 600W like any other blender.I don't like how the spout stick out, which I KNOW will eventually be knocked off and broken when I try to hand wash it.The blade is noisy, and not smooth, but overall it's okay.

It performs all the traditional blending tasks (crushing ice for margaritas, thinning ice cream) plus it can be used like a food processor (mincing garlic, puréeingpeppers). The wide jar is rounder and squatter than old-style blenders, which makes it easier to reach in and scrape the sides (when the blender is off!). To reduce splatters of strawberry daiquiri, the Step Start feature starts blending slowly, then picks up to the chosen speed. Not very good with small quantites
I am very happy with the efficiency with which the blender can process large jobs.However it is terrible with handling small quantities.For some strange reason there is a moat like gap between the blade assembly and the jar walls and a lot of stuff gets stuck in this area.I wish Kitchenaid comes up with a lower capacity jar that accompanies this blender to alleviate this problem.

Has design flaws
I have owned this blender for about 6 or 7 years now, I purchased it because of KitchenAid's reputation for making quality products. About a year ago two of the rubber teeth that couple the motor to the mixing blades, broke off. A couple weeks ago two more teeth broke off leaving only two remaining. I'm sorry but a blender that costs $100 or little more shouldn't have such a lousy drive system that doesn't hold up over time. Another poor design IMO is the jar's handle, it is attached with spot welds. I was expecting the handle to break off by now but oddly enough its fine but I still think KitchenAid should use rivets and replace the rubber drive system with something sturdier that will last for many years.
Hard to beat a KitchenAid appliance
I purchased 2 Black and Decker blenders from Target and neither lasted more than 2 weeks. They would start to smell hot than shut down for good. The KitchenAid works really well with ice cream drinks. The ice cream doesn't seem to stick to the side like the glass ones, maybe it has more to do with the blades. The base is very heavy. Not Too Loud
I blend soy smothies every morning for breakfast.All too often I find the cheapo blenders I'd been using to be way too noisy, at the level where you could definitely have some hearing damage, not to mention unhappy neighbors.I looked long and hard at this blender, but couldn't find any reviews that commented on the noise.Well, in addition to being a great blender, this beautiful machine isn't too noisy, in fact its at the low scale on the noise level.Very happy with it & highly recommmend....

Great Blender
Though definitely a high price point, this blender is industrial and absolutely will blend anything. Fast, sharp blades cut through ice and anything else we have thrown at it with ease. Great buy, worth every cent.
