Editorial Review

This multipurpose tool created a stir in the kitchen when it came out, as the food processor did a generation earlier. In order to blend, whip, and chop smaller amounts of ingredients, it's no longer necessary to wrestle with bulky appliances. Immerse the 7-1/2-inch blender shaft, with its little blade on the end, into a pot where vegetables have been simmering, press the switch, and in seconds a creamy soup appears--with no need to dump everything into a big blender. Blend sauces and baby foods in their cooking pots, too. Blend a milk shake or juice drink right in its drinking container, or in the 2-1/2-cup beaker included in this set. Whipping cream and egg whites is just as convenient: a 5-inch whisk attaches to the motor when the blender is removed. For chopping nuts, herbs, garlic, or onions, there's a 2-cup chopper bowl with a special blade. The motor with the attached blender shaft can be mounted on a wall (mount included). Everything but the motor and the chopper-bowl top (both should be wiped with a damp cloth) can go into the dishwasher. This tool is more than handy, it's a revolution. The instruction sheet, unfortunately, is harder to comprehend than the tool is to use. Read more

Features

  • Set includes blender, whisk, chopper, bowl, beaker, and wall mount
  • Blends soups, sauces, baby food, juice drinks, and milk shakes
  • Whips cream, egg whites, and puddings
  • Chops herbs, nuts, garlic, and onions
  • One-year warranty against defects

1-0 out of 5 stars Motor dies
The motor of this thing died and almost burned my hand in the process. I was trying to chop raisins (bad idea, however no word about that in the instructions... they tell you to not chop cheese, but nuts are said to be OK) and after a couple of seconds, a spark came out of the button where I was holding the blender(since you need to press the button to have it work, you have to hold it there).
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!!!
We use it to make food for our 8 month old. We've been using it for about 3-4 months now and it's worth every penny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Set
I received this hand blender as a gift, and i was very happy with it. Its a must have in every kitchen as its very handy. The chopper bowl also does a great job to make diffrent pastes. Again a good item to gift. I would definitely recommend this.

Editorial Review

This appealing blender looks great, with a rounded triangularshape that marries form and function. It pours perfectly and cleansbeautifully, but what we noticed first was the terrific grip on thehandle: firm and comfortable, like a great handshake. The lid is alsowell designed, sealing easily and snugly, with tiny rubber tipsattached on three sides to facilitate a smooth release and opening. This blender packs a lot of power, puréeing in seconds andturning eggs and oil into mayonnaise in fewer than two minutes. Fivespeeds let you whip up everything from chunky salsa to velvety soups;there's also a pulse mode when you need an extra surge to add solids orgive something one last stir. As a bonus, this blender looks great onthe counter or stores easily in two parts in the cupboard. Read more

  • 525-watt blender with 58-ounce capacity
  • 5 speeds plus pulse setting for just the right amount of control
  • Heavy-duty, stainless-steel blade crushes ice quickly

  • Measures 14-7/8 by 8-1/2 by 11 inches; 1-year warranty

1-0 out of 5 stars Defective and Impossible to Return
As mentioned by other reviewers, the gear at the base of the blender (which drives the blade) is made of plastic, and the teeth break off easily.I owned this product for 6 months, only making my daily smoothie and my son's protien shake, and three of the six gear teeth broke off.The major problem is this, however -- the blender is virtually impossible to return unless you live close to one of the "authorized" repair shops that Braun has listed on their website. You can't return it to Amazon after 30 days, and Braun will only repair or replace defective items through their difficult-to-find repair sites.Don't waste your money on this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars High expectations, disappointing results
We purchased this blender because it was rated a Consumer Reports Best Buy.However, about 30 seconds into its very first use (making a simple smoothie), it started emitting a HORRIBLE, burning plastic sort of smell that quickly filled the kitchen. I wasn't terribly impressed with the blender's power either, as it didn't seem like a significant improvement over the cheap Oster it's replacing. As mentioned by some other reviewers, the jug design is not ideal for pouring, and seems to promote drips. On a positive note, I do appreciate the fact that everything (except the base, of course) is dishwasher safe.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I bought this blender (like other reviewers) based on consumer reports recommendation.I had it only 6 months. The plastic gears have stripped twice, and the teeth on the bottom of the jar have broken too. This is a cheaply made blender, which worked OK for smoothies, but I would not recommend it over any other cheap blender. I had the blender repaired under warranty the first time, but won't waste my time now that it broke again.Save your money. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good Blender for the price
I make smoothies nearly every morning and the occasional party drinks (Margs, Coladas, etc.). I had been using a basic Oster blender that I purchased from, I think, Target in college over 5 years ago. It got the job done, it was just VERY loud and I was always having to stick a spoon down in it to break up "ice jams". So I figured it was time for an upgrade. I was hesitant to buy this machine because it was refurbished and didn't want someone's nasty used goods on my kitchen counter. I've also noticed that KitchenAid stuff is very hit-or-miss with the quality. Some items such as my pancake griddle and kitchen tools (can opener, mixing spoons, spatulas, etc) are excellent. Other items like the hand food chopper and the vegetable and apple multi-slicer just plain SUCK! So, I took the gamble. My refurbished blender came yesterday and was in good, not excellent, condition. Some of the Styrofoam had rubbed off on the lid so much that I cannot get all of it off. Also the base was a little scuffy, but overall it was in good shape for the price. I used it this morning for the first time, after washing it, to make a smoothie. It worked pretty good.It took a lot longer than I had hoped to actually blend everything evenly. I did notice that it didn't get rid of ice chunks as well as it should. However, it was SO quiet! Even on the highest pulse speed, it was so quiet. Maybe I'm comparing it to the Oster I have been using which is almost mind-numbing, even for me in the morning when my mind is already numb. Overall for the price, it's a decent blender, but nothing to really go crazy over.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not well refurbished
We received this quickly and it looked great, felt heavy and substantial etc.The first time I used it I noticed that mango was not very well blended - a mango!Hardly the toughest of fruits to blend when mixed with orange juice and a banana! The second time we used it the ball bearings seemed to stop working and the whole thing is just unusable. We will be returning this pronto and feel that we've wasted too much time on this product. It's just too much of a lottery with refurbished.I'm glad that some people got one that was properly fixed. This one was not, and I hope that some other sucker doesn't wind up with it when we return it!

4-0 out of 5 stars good little blender
I gave this blender 4 stars because it's practically perfect. It's compact enough to fit easily under my overhead cabinets. The other thing I really like is that it's so very easy to clean. The base is all smooth and you just wipe it off. No cracks or crevices to collect stuff. The only problem with this blender is that it always leaves a few small lumps of something, ice cubes or fruit. It's not a big deal and I'd love it if it blended perfectly. After other blenders I've had, the good qualities of this one more then make up for it's one downfall. Otherwise it blends quietly and very efficiently.I like the glass container, don't like the plastic ones that seem to scratch and get crummy looking. this is one of the bestblenders I've ever owned and I got it at a great price. No problems at all with it being refurbished. It was packed up like it was brand new. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Brushed Chrome is Chrome Colored Plastic
The main reason I bought this Imersion Hand Blender was to replace my old one with a plastic body.I was extremely disapointed when I received my "Brushed Chrome" Blender only to find out the body is chrome colored plastic.Upon reviewing the item description, it does say in the fine print "This Brushed Chrome SmartStick Hand Blender is made from ABS housing".Well in my book Chrome is metal and ABS is plastic. The only things I like about this blender are that you can remove the shaft assembly for cleaning and the motor is pretty powerful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dangy-dang!
Holy guacamole! I was a disbeliever, but now that I have this Cuisinart immersion blender, I am a True Believer. It is substantial yet quiet, and it works really, really well. It is easy to clean as the blender piece pops right off. I love that I can just place it into the pot and puree my soup right there! Awesome! Carrot soup, cauliflower soup, sweet potato soup have all fallen under my spell with this magic wand. Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ah hah, I'm all shook up!
Well ok, maybe I am not all shook up so much as BLENDED up. I purchased this immersion blender after my older no name brand unit purchased at Wally World died in the middle of blending a pot of hot soup. I like that you can wash the blenders blade assembly in the dishwasher and the stainless steel shaft is not stained like so many of the ALL PLASTIC models. Another thing I love is the power of the unit and the sharpness of the blades; they will reduce a pot of cream of broccoli soup to a smooth consistency in nothing flat.

3-0 out of 5 stars Response to Melissa's Review
Melissa, have you broken your Oster yet?I've gone through two Oster blenders for the sole reason that they keep sending me new ones. So, though I speak highly of the company, they alas, will also break. While other blenders have that rubber connection to the motor and the Oster's is metal, the metal piece is connected to the motor with a rubber grommet that you won't see until it breaks.I don't want to mislead that the performance of the blender isn't outstanding while it's working, but then it's broken. So my only problem really is being out one blender for about 12 days while I'm waiting for my new one to come by UPS.

4-0 out of 5 stars Powerful Blender!
Solid and powerful, with sharp blades. Only thing I wish it had were more variable speeds. But great for smoothies and frozen drinks... grinds right through ice.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Outstanding Blender for the Money
I had an Oster previously which after much use and many years finally gave out. I thought very highly of it and therefore purchased another one. It is somewhat loud but it does do the job--it's great in chopping ice for drinks. For the money, you cannot beat it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hit of the Beach
Just back from a week at Cape Hatteras with the crew.We have a total of 9 couples who have shared a house in Sept/Oct for many years now. This was the first true test of the Frozen Concoction Maker and it passed with flying colors.Probably had about a years worth of normal usage in a week and amazed everyone (and we are very serious about our margaritas - we even have a gas powered blender for making frozen drinks on the beach)
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Invention of Mankind
This is how my boyfriend described this machine and although that may be a little extreme, it sure is a purchase I'm glad I made! It seems very well-designed and sturdy. I expect to be enjoying delicious frozen concoctions from it for a long, long time! It's so cool, it's even fun to watch it do it's thing! The price is a bit steep, but I seemed to forget all about that when I got to sit down and enjoy a delicious pina colada! I looked at this item on other sites, but saved over $30.00 in S&H and tax by ordering it from Amazon with their free shipping! That's a plus!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Prior to purchasing thethe machine I read the prior reviews.I must tell you that I highly recommened the maker if you want a great margarita.

4-0 out of 5 stars Smoothies are fast and easy--but the Bullet does a lot more
Aha! Yet again, the infomercial sends its siren song when you are up watching tv on a sleepless night. Is it the wooziness of insomnia, or is the Magic Bullet the best thing since a food processor for the kitchen. Here's my opinion.
3-0 out of 5 stars So far so good
I have read the other reviews about the ice and gears wearing out.I have had mine for about a month now.I put ice in it everyday and frozen fruit. It hasn't stopped working yet.I drink smoothies for breakfast almost every morning.I love the way this think makes one cup. When I used to use my blender it made about 3 times as much as I needed.Plus, I hated the clean up.
5-0 out of 5 stars I love this thing!
I have only used mine to make smoothies, shakes and slushes, but it really does the job!

5-0 out of 5 stars What you would expect from a commercial smoothie maker
I was looking for a new blender to make smoothies with after burning the motor out on two previous ones.I was also tired of having to stick spoons into the blenders and mash down the ice/fruit to get it to blend thoroughly. The Back to Basics Smoothie Maker solves this problem by providing everything you would expect to find in a commercial machine.
5-0 out of 5 stars We are having a blast!!
This is our first smoothie maker and we are having a great time! It is so easy touse and clean. I just whipped up a smoothie using peach nonfat yogurt, frozen blueberries, frozen mango, 1 frozen banana (just throw your over-ripe bananas in the freezer), orange/pineapple juice and ice. It was ready in 1 minute!! Needless to say, with those ingredients how could it not taste wonderful. I can't believe how powerful this machine is as I am used to a plain ole blender that used to overheat.
5-0 out of 5 stars powerful machine
After years of trying to make smoothies in a regular blender, and having to stop and stir, and stop and stir, and worry about burning out the motor, we now don't have to worry any more. Even when ALL of the fruit we add is frozen, this machine grinds, chops, and smooths with impressive power. It's fairly easy to clean, provided you don't wait for days, and has a handy pouring valve thing. A few recipes are included. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great stuff
For the price it is definitely a good pick. It however can't grind small quantities. Also if you wish to grind a very large volume you may have to do it in batches. If you are patient enough to run it with the right volumes you get the best results. If you need the best belnder you need to spend the right amount. For this price it delivers more than its value.

5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect addition to the college student's kitchenware
This blender is probably one of the best around at its price, but don't be fooled based on this sentence alone into thinking that you'll get a better blender by just paying a few extra dollars.Spending under $20 on this one will do you fine.
1-0 out of 5 stars Lumpy lumpy lumpy
Every smoothie came out lumpy, and with a bit of plastic aftertaste.I've had three blenders in the past. All could chop up almonds if you waited long enough, added a little juice, and tapped the sides. This thing has such a large and round jar with such small blades that it will just not reach every piece. Lumps and more lumps. I even tried sharpening the blades. The Krups turned almonds to powder in 10 seconds. This turnes almonds to small pieces in 2 minutes. So it makes a good alarm clock to wake the whole house.Even the banana was still lumpy. I read all these reviews and no one mentioned this problem.I'm definitely getting a different blender. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Bought this and hateit!
Just purchased this blender & am returning it immediately. It has a number of terriblefeatures: it's very difficult to remove the cover if you have carpal tunnel, arthritis, or weak hands. To change speeds you turn a dial (as opposed to the buttons on most others), which makes for rough transitions. Moreover, the dial feels very flimsy and I doubt this machine will last. I purchased this model because I thought its premium price would mean a premium product, but from the plastic gears to the flimsy dial, to the impossible-to-open cover, I hate it. Will go back to either an Oster or Waring, both of which served me well, each for over 10 years.

5-0 out of 5 stars NICE BLENDER
This is a well made quality blender with a simple design that works great. The pitcher is thick glass and the base is wide and heavy so it doesnt move around. It has a rotating dial to make a selection and the center of the dial pushes in for the ice crushing speed. The box states that it makes great smoothies but we havn't made any yet. Overall it has a nice heavy duty feeling to the entire unit. By far the best blender that we have ever owned.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice blender
I've been using this blender for two months..and I really liked the blender. The best thing about it is the simplest design.. It is also very quiet and blends very nicely. NO problems found so far... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great machine for the price
I've had this blender for about a month and it does what it's supposed to. I use it mainly for smoothies or sauces: it crushes ice easily and efficiently.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good blender, worth the money
At the moment I am using it mainly for making smoothies, shakes, and malts.I did crush ice using the instructions that came with the blender and it produced ice that would make a wonderful snow cone.I put fruit in the smoothies and sometimes bananas in my malts.Everything was processed smoothly.I definitely recommend this blender.Plus, I ordered this through Amazon.com and it was delivered on time, maybe even earlier than estimated.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Blender
I have been using my WaveLogic Blender for about a month now and I love it.We use it for making smoothies and it works wonderful. It blends the frozen fruit and mixes the ice very well.My last blender was a Hamilton Beach also, but it did not compare to this new one.It did not blend our ice. It left huge hunks in our smoothies. The WaveLogic method is truly something to watch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and clean
This hand blender is GREAT because I make fresh salsa often and it's a lot easier to use and clean this hand blender than to use my food processor. The attachments are easy to remove and store.I've looked at a few different hand blenders and I think that quality will always be worth the extra money you put into the product. It's been worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy, Effective, Convenient
I love this hand blender. It makes great smoothies. I use all frozen fruit---berries, bananas, peaches, etc.I just make sure that the berries are not whole, and the blender works just fine. The plastic mixing container is the perfect size. Also, the detachable bottom half of the blender makes it a breeze to clean. This is so much easier than using a traditional blender to make a smoothie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Also a great whip
I already had two diffrent brands of hand blenders (both house warming presents) and they worked fine. However, I bought this for the purely frivolous reason that it matched my other KitchenAid appliances (stand mixer, food processor, and blender).

Editorial Review

Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to purée baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor quality --poor support
The Duet served my wife and I well for more than a year. Then, like many others are reporting, the spindle broke on the base unit. I contacted Cuisinart, but they don't make a replacement. So we had a pitch a basically good unit but lack of this tiny replacement part.
1-0 out of 5 stars Cheap but Poor Quality
I bought this item, thinking, like others, that the Cuisineart name meant quality. The blender broke about within about 6 months, but I kept on using the food processor.Light use, I might add.Just a few days ago, the food processor broke -- the plastic food bin snapped. This has been one of the most disappointing purchases I've made.Plus, it is unbelievably LOUD.I'm in the market for a more expensive, sturdy, reliable processor. You get what you pay for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great, until the drive gear shatters
As other reviewers, we loved this blender until it broke. It was quiet, powerful, simple to use, and looked great. The food processor was the perfect size, and very useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great as a Coffee Grinder
I bought this to see if it would grind coffee beans as I did not want to buy a separate coffee grinder. I placed the coffee beans in a small plastic sandwich bag and used the Smart Stick itself to grind them right in the bag. Unlike a regular coffee grinder there was minimal clean up and no coffee all over the place; it's much quieter too. It did a good job - resulting in a medium coarse grind that is ideal for drip coffee makers but would not be fine enough for espresso coffee makers. I have yet to use the chopper/grinder bowl or whisk attachments but based just on using it as a coffee grinder I give it 5 stars. Elegant Cuisinart design is a plus.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the Braun Multiquick
I was going to buy this stick blender, and then I read a review with some troubling info, so I switched to the Braun Multiquick, and I'm really glad I did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love the Classic Osterizer Blender.
I use this blender at least twice a day.
5-0 out of 5 stars Chops cubed ice!
I got a blender about 3 months ago that just stopped working right. I never liked it anyway because I could never chop ice.
2-0 out of 5 stars Great looking and functional but way too loud!
This blender looks great on the counter and functions well; we use it daily to make smoothies and it chops ice easily.

Editorial Review

If your espresso maker doesn’t froth milk, you can still make creamy lattes and cappuccinos with this hand-held frother from BonJour. Simply insert the stainless-steel wire disc into a tall glass one-third full of cold milk (the health conscious will be pleased to know that nonfat milk works best), press and hold the on button, and in seconds the milk will froth to more than twice its volume. The milk can then be heated in a microwave and the espresso or coffee added. A wire stand keeps the frother handily located and displayed--its ergonomically designed handle with non-slip accents is quite eye-catching. Measuring 10 inches in overall length, the frother requires two AA batteries (not included), and should be washed gently by hand. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mission Accomplished!
We've been looking for something like the frother for a very long time.We travel to Greece every year and they do amazing things with Nescafe and a blender similar to the frother. Now, we can have our Nescafe coffee drinks all year long!

4-0 out of 5 stars Nearly perfect frother
We own the rechargeable version of this as well. Both work quite well in making froth. However, this battery version falls short of the rechargeable and so gets 4 stars for two reasons:The switch design placement is very awkward (on the side of the thing) and really does not fall to hand easily. The other version has the power button on the top, so it is easy to hold it pinched upright and press the button with an index finger. Also, the stand is not very stable.Since it hangs, the whole thing is top-heavy and prone to being knocked over easily. The recharger stand is designed to accept the device upside down, so it is bottom-heavy.(The recharging unit seems to use magnetic induction, just like most modern electric toothbrushes.)
4-0 out of 5 stars Easy latte
The Primo Frother is great! So easy to use and clean-up is a snap.It really does a fast job of frothing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Waring IC70 Pro Ice Crusher
I gave this to my husband for making martinis and he loves it.

5-0 out of 5 stars F-ing Awesome!
This is my 4th ice crusher and is by far the best for accompanying soft drinks. This ice crusher looks awesome, automatically feeds ice (you dont have to force the ice into the chute), and the dispensing tray is even large enough to put a small cup inside so you don't have to dig out the ice with your hand or a spoon. This ice crusher cannot jam like most others and is WELL WORTH the priceas I love this ice crusher.Note: This is not for snowcones, etc. as it is a ice crusher not a ice shaver. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great blender, better than the Professional Bar Blender
Well, I certainly read a lot of reviews before I made my decision, so I thought I should write one, too. Hope this proves helpful.
4-0 out of 5 stars Air pockets make for LOTS of stopping, poking, and restarting
We make smoothies a couple of times a day using frozen fruit - pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries - along with various juices. With all the rave reviews and the 1 horse power motor of this Pro Line Kitchen Aid blender, I was disappointed that air pockets form so readily around the blade.Just seconds after I turn it on, the blender stops blending until I stop the motor, poke the fruit down with a spatula, and restart.I usually have to do this about 4 or 5 times to make a simple smoothie. If I add plenty of juice, it is less prone to this problem; however, we like our smoothies thick.Once the fruit is blended enough to keep air pockets from forming, it makes a GREAT smoothie - far superior to the Kitchen Aid 1/2 horse power food processor I used to use. It's also attractive and the handle is light weight. The motor also regularly smells of smoke; hopefully this is because it is so new?

5-0 out of 5 stars KitchenAid KTA-KPCB348PPM Review
After one month and 20+ uses for smoothies the KitchenAid Pro Line Chef's Blender has performed to expectations.Nothing escapes it powerful blades.True blending perfection. I hope that it's working like this in five years.Clean-up is fast and easy with one piece poly jar design.Noise levels are high but don't last long because it works fast, a lot faster than less powerful models.Highly recommend. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Works very good
Works well for my creatine mix and protein mix, has the nice wheel inside, drinks are smooth not clumpy, its better than a blender if you just want to mix drinks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product!
No drips/leaks. EZ to clean. Has a "wagon wheel" like clump breaker that actually works. Drinking from the cup is made easier with the pop up air intake... kind of like the air intake on a gas can. You drink from the cup... not suck because of the air intake. Great product... great price.

4-0 out of 5 stars cheap and quality
