Fast for marinating....
I have only used it a few times so far but it has always worked well. I do only hand wash it after reading previous reviews so that could be helping it stay in good shape. It seems like I never have alot of time when I am ready to grill so this product works well for time saving. It gives the meat great flavor in a short amount of time marinating.

Great concept, but canister needs to be redesigned.
I have had four of these, and three have failed.The first two developed cracks, and I suspect that the dishwasher, in which I only washed the bottom part of the marinator as advised, warped and weakened them.After buying two more, the first two having been relegated to the potting shed as seed-starters, I have handled them with kid gloves so to speak, (no dishwasher), and the seal on one fails to hold for even a few hours.So far, so good with the fourth one.Whoopee. These are not cheap items, and even if they were less costly, a 75% failure rate is quite unacceptable.If they really functioned as they should, they would be fabulous for not only marinating in short order, but storing other items as well.All the round canisters and the wide-mouth jar sealer work exceedingly well, but I'll not buy any more "marinators" until there is a successful improvement in design.

AWESOME!
If I could give it 10 stars I would. I have NEVER tasted better meat,chicken, or fish. 20 mins in the tumbler with ANY marinade and the food is 200% infused with the flavor of your marinade. The clean up is SUPER easy. Throw the tumbler in the dishwasher and take 1 minute to wash the top. No need to remove the rubber seal from the top, as that will decrease the longevity. The seal doesn't let anything get in that will contaminate it anyways. This is absolutely the indespensible kitchen item for non-vegetarians :-) As a test I put in thawed thick cut bacon in it with some maple syrup and pepper and it was so good I made another pound immediatly afterwards. Works excellent on venison. No gamey taste and as I said earlier,,it totally infuses the meat with flavor. Additionally you don't have to baste your meat in between flips on the grill or whatever technique you use. Buy this product NOW! I know it sounds like a review written by an employee of the company, but I assure you I'm an Air Force man with a wife and two kids. We use this machine at least 4 nights a week.

pure garbage - refurbished
I didn't even bother completely unpacking the thing. Old worn unsealed box, all the plastic surfaces looked as is scrubbed with 'Comet cleanser', sheen of grease residue on plastic too. The bag that the instructions were enclosed in had been through the mill too. I've been a long time Amazon customer and this is the first time I've seen this type of garbage. Therefore I put it on the manufacturer and not Amazon. If I buy a used, refurbished item I don't expect to pay full price.

Works great for a few times, then cracks.
This injector works great for a few times, but then cracks, not allowing you to suck-up the marinade or inject it. This was only hand-washed after every use.Don't waste your money on it; you will pull it out to use it, and will not be able to when you need it [like when you have that big turkey sitting on the counter, and find the injector unusable].The acrylic body needs to be redesigned and manufactured with another, more durable material, then it would be absolutely great.

BUY IT ! , WE USE THEM this must be the new and improved model
The wife and i have been using the older version of this new and improved model for years. I am writing this now because I came to amazon to re-order several to replace our esisting that eventually failed after years of use, hot dishwasher cleaning etc.. I would re-order even if they had not improved the design..they are that good ! THE ONLY PROBLEM experienced with the old one was, that they would develope a crack in the bottom of the base, (again) after much use // we love their 'rapid ice' drink can and wine coolers we use them to slightly chill pinots and merlots from room temp to slightly chilled in minutes !

A Cautionary Note
I think that when you pull "too strong" a vacuum and then put the INSTANT MARINATER into the REFRIGERATOR, the container IMPLODES.I believe what happened was that the volume of what little air was left in the Instant marinater "shrunk" due to the colder temperature of the refrigerator, increased the strength of the vacuum and that the sides of the container were not strong enough to withstand the forces.

Does not work
This baster does not work. The bulb keeps coming off, the collar keeps coming off. It does not hold liquid, it runs right out. It is a complete waste of money.

Oxo usually designs their products so thoughtfully, I was willing to pay a little extra for this baster.For $10, I expected this to be a high-quality product, but it was a total disappointment.First, the hole at the tip is so large, the liquid runs out without even sqeezing the bulb.Then the plastic peice that cradles the bulb kept falling down into the pan juices.I'm not even sure what function it serves.It's mediocre at best, and everyone would be wise to buy something else. ... A brief comment
This baster is big enough to accomplish most tasks, and it even makes a great costume accessory on Halloween. Except that when I used it as part of my Halloween party costume along with a doctor's lab coat and stethoscope, all the women blushed and left the room. ALL the bristles fell out!
A few months after buying and using this brush, *all* the bristles fell out in one big clump.Yikes!

Shrinks and sheds when things get hot
This is the worst basting brush I have ever encountered.At first countless bristles fell out in my food and every time I washed it.(Although it's dishwasher safe, it failed to come clean in there, even after a big squirt of dawn and much hand washing it isn't spotless, but I think I pulled most of the loose bristles out in the process.)It also doesn't stand up to any heat, I use it to lightly grease my griddle for pancakes and things (at about 375 degrees) becuase I don't like the residue left by Pam, and it shrinks and flakes bristle bits every time.I also don't like the Good Grips in general (these were a gift) the handles are too bulky and take up too much space in my utensil crock and limited apartment kitchen drawers.

I didn't think it would work
I really didn't think these silicone brushes would work (and I am still skeptical about the ones with fewer, larger bristles). But then I saw Alton Brown using one and thought I'd give them a try. I'm so happy that I bought this one. It actually applies liquids better than my old bristle brush, and you can properly CLEAN it! I haven't noticed any odor issues either but I've only had it for a few weeks.

The BEST basting brush ever.
Whoever designed silicon kitchen tools is my hero.This brush is flexible, yet the silicone bristles won't separate from the brush the way natural or nylon bristles can.There's nothing worse than trying to pick clumps of loose bristles off of hot meat and gooey sauces.No hand washing either - this goes right into the dishwasher.I've been very happy with mine and have even used it on the grill.Haven't noticed any odor issues, but I've only had it for 2 months, although silicone shouldn't retain any odors...Almost as handy as the silicone potholders/trivet, which I actually use more for opening jars (good for people without much hand strength).

Why did no one think of this before??!! long awaited squid brush /baster
I got 3 so I could give a couple to people who are usually in charge of cooking for their families .I think they found it intriging and I am sure they will like it as much I like mine. It is easy to clean and just the perfict size. I don't know about you but I don't particularly like those long tubular bulb type basters. And I think it is cute.

Very Disappointing - definitely not worth the money
We have had this baster for less than a year and the bulb has already cracked and split, rendering the thing virtually useless.My old cheap plastic baster -- which I got at the dollar store -- lasted longer than this product.

Stainless Steel Baster
After putting up with plastic and glass basters that crack and break, I finally decided to move up to stainless steel.To my pleasant surprise, this one carries the Hoffritz name and quality, can be used as an injector and even has its own cleaning brush.The Rolls Royce of basters!!!!

Bulb is Weak Link
Bought this item last Christmas for my wife. Worked fine until this Thanksgiving when rubber bulb split apart when basting turkey. Great piece of tupperware...but for marinades?I dont know
I bought this when I got tired of marinating in plates, bowls and mismatched plastic ware.I liked it.Tupperware is a great product, lasts forever (If you dont believe me, look at all the wintage tupperware on auction sites) washes well and over time will eventually become cost effective. A Marinaders Dream!
I own two of these and would recommend them to anyone who is serious about marinading.The insides of the double lids have raised 'knobs' allowing for the marinade to fully coat the food.Another great feature is that you just turn the container over to marinade on the opposite side.When done grilling, it also serves as a great container to keep food warm, serve from and even to store leftovers in the fridge.Two thumbs up!

Oh, this thing is really great!
I've tried a few different silicone brushes and I really like this kaiser a lot. The bristles are thinner and closer together then other brands so it really holds a lot of sauce. They are also more flexable because they are longer. Super brush and very easy clean up by hand or just toss in the dish washer. If you want a great brush for brushing milk or egg on pastry try the smaller mario batalli one, the bristles on that one are flat and each one is ridged great for applying liguids. But if you are looking for an excellent basing/barbq brush get this one, it's really super! Great gift idea too.
