very pleased
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product, it has been working very well and seems surprisingly powerful.It will quickly blend up banana in a milkshake so smoothly that you don't even know that it's in there, the other hand blender we used prior to purchasing this one would always leave detectable bits at the bottom.The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because of the size, it's rather tall and a little bit difficult to handle especially for someone older.

Why Puree in your Blender?
Rustic or smooth soup or sauce- well sometimes I change my mind mid-recipe.When I decide I want everything smoother and I'm too lazy to dump the whole pot into my blender (and it's also HOT) I just get out my trusty "boat motor" -my Cuisinart Immersion blender.I also use it as a smoothie machine.You don't have one?Shame on you!

Solid purchase
This is a well-designed product.Although the blender doesn't come with the many attachments offered by some brands (different blades, small chopper assembly) it blends, whips, is easy to clean (great stainless wand and blade assembly), and has a positive and strong connection mechanism for the wand.

Amazing feat of mechanical engineering
I have two of these, the Brookstone (expensive) and the Houdini (1/3rd the cost).Both work exceptionally well.The Brookstone is all metal, and will certainly outlive me; the Houdini has some polycarbonate parts, which is why I gave it four of five stars, but feels pretty solid.The remarkable thing is how easily they work -- two flips of the lever and the cork pops right out.Another flip and the cork falls off the screw.This thing really does work.

Okay for a while...
This worked really well when I first got it, but it seems as though it gets harder and harder to use as time goes by, almost as if it's wearing out.And it's not when you insert the corkscrew into the wine, it's when you try to pull the cork out - it's almost impossible now.So, bottom line is - it will work for maybe a year or two but then you'll need another, which to me isn't acceptable for the price I paid. ... Gunk in your wine?
This is the solution.Since I am not very responsible about turning the bottles in my wine collection, there is often some sediment with which to deal.I don't really want to serve my guests "chewy" wine, and this funnel/strainer solves that problem with great style.You'll love how it pours down the side of the decanter.The strainer and funnel are two separate pieces, making cleaning up a snap.

Shake shake shake :)
This shaker was a little more than i intended to spend.But i am so glad i did.. It makes great martinis and cosmos etc. No leaking and very convenient since the shaker is built in. You can't go wrong with this item
A Good Sturdy Cocktail Shaker
The WMF cocktail shaker is sturdy with a built-in strainer. It doesn't come apart even with vigorous shaking. The WMF is way better functionally than other shakers I've used and also looks sleek and attractive. Highly recommended.

One touch dispenser - yeah right!
This is a good smoothie blender, but there are a few things I don't like about it. For one thing, you can't really clean it in the dishwasher unless you want to risk warping all the plastic parts. (There goes one star.) Also, the one touch dispenser doesn't really work with a pint glass. It's too tall to fit under there straight. This can be overcome by holding the glass at a tilt and pushing the dispense button with your finger, but ultimately I opted to remove the spigot and use the included cap instead. (Another star.)
Wave Action
It mixes very well once it gets started, but I find I have to stir and move the ingredients around.I make a lot of fruit smoothies, and I've tried alternating the order I add the ingredients, but it didn't make any difference.Most recently I tried adding the ice first, then fruit and yogurt on top -- big mistake.For best results, put the ice on top of the fruit and yogurt.But once it starts, it does a great job, no ice chunks!

I gave this to my husband for Father's Day and we absolutely love it!Big chunks of frozen fruit are blended quickly and easily for our smoothies.And the protien powder my husband mixes in gets evenly distributed for a great power drink.

Magnificent!
I think this is the first Amazon review I've written. And I've been buying things through Amazon for years.These glasses are absolutely beautiful.And they're HUGE.You could probably fit nearly an entire bottle of wine into one glass. You probably don't want to do that though. :-)The quality is topnotch, as per Mikasa's usual.They are big conversation pieces.Everyone that has seen mine has been thoroughly impressed. I had them on my bridal registry and two of my guests purchased them for themselves as well.I can't wait to add more of the pieces to my collection. I want them all!

I use these as tea glasses. They're lightweight, very strong, and show the tea beautifully. The double wall design keeps the tea piping hot and my fingers cool.

I bought two of the "canteen" model glasses at Crate and Barrel, liked them and decided to buy more.When I saw the Assam glass, I thought it was likely to be much more comfortable for people with small hands to hold.I bought six of them for myself, and have also given them as gifts.Everyone does seem to like them.I particularly enjoy them for hot tea.Because of the double wall, they seem to have a small capacity for their size.I am sure that they are less sturdy than heavier glass, but so far I have not had any breakage--but I have an all-adult household.They would not be my first choice if they were to be my only, everyday, all-purpose glasses.But if one has room for some extra, special use glasses, these are very nice. ... Not bad at all
I've now had these glasses for over a month and am quite pleased.Great shape for Bordeaux and many other big reds.Feels sturdy, yet thin enough at the lip.My only real complaint is that they've etched the name "'Spiegelau" onto the base -- pretty tacky and unattractive in my opinion.Overall great value and I like these so much I also bought the Grande Red, White and Riesling lines.

Great Purchase!
We have been using Riedel crystal wine glasses (and still do on occasion with the handful that we have left), but I finally decided to buy Spiegelau glasses for our everyday drinking glasses.Because we drink wine and entertain regularly, our collection of Riedel glasses has been diminishing --- although the crystal Riedel's are beautiful glasses (and still used for the right occasions), they are extremely fragile and I have personally destroyed several while simply hand washing them.At any rate, after years of attrition via visiting friends and family, we needed to stock up on new glasses.Because I hate to hand wash dishes, I began to look into the dishwasher-safe glasses from Riedel and Spiegelau for the new replacements.I was going to just buy the dishwasher-safe Riedel glasses (name recognition of course), but I couldn't get over how much better the Spiegelaus were priced.Moreover, all of my favorite restaurants use Spiegelau (and come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen Riedels at a restaurant). Therefore, I took the leap and stocked up on the Chardonnay, Cabernet, Riesling, Port and Champagne glasses.I'm really glad that I did --- all of them are terrific! Although not as elegant as the fine crystal versions, these are excellent for everyday use and large dinner parties.I've already bounced one off of a granite countertop and it survived the collision without incident. I've also washed them all in the dishwasher several times and they've come out great.I am very, very happy with this purchase.I'm sure that the comparable dishwasher-safe Riedel glasses are just as nice (possibly nicer?), but you can't beat Spiegelau's price!

Have margarita maker, will travel
We've had our Margaritaville margarita maker for several months and have been hauling it around to friend's and family's homes for get togethers. I was always afraid that the pitcher would drop and break. So, when I saw this handy carrying case, I thought I had to get one. The case is very nicely made. I'm very impressed! The whole case is padded and there is a thick foam pad at the bottom of the case, that the machine fits snuggly into, then there are velcro straps that wrap around the machine to keep it securely in place. The sides of the case zippers to open and close the case. There are 2 heavey nylon handles for easy carrying. Almost unbelievable
This was a gift for my mother for Christmas.My parents always have the whole family over to their house for Christmas and they are coffee drinkers.This has always been a problem because space limitations and lack of availability of larger coffee makers that would fit in has always been a problem.She'd always have to make 2 pots and eventually, people would wind up with cool coffee since not everyone wanted it at the same time.In comes this Zojirushi SRAG30 Airpot.Now, not being a coffee drinker myself, I did a lot of research in advance.As there wasn't a lot of feedback available for this particular product, I don't know if I just got lucky in picking it or if the limited information was just that accurate, but this thing is literally almost unbelievable.Not only was the coffee made 3 hours before the first cup was pourted still hot when the last cup was poured, but it was hot the next morning, 20 hour later...and still steaming hot the next evening, 30 hours later.This morning, the coffee coming out of it is still apparently steaming.Now while I'm sure it's much cooler than it was when it first went in, the fact that I can still see visible steam rising from what's coming out of it coming up on 2 days later is just amazing.I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Must have for any serious Guinness fan
This is a must-have for any serious Guinness fan, or wet-bar owner.They make a nice gift, and add a touch of pizzazz for entertaining Guinness fans.Of course, the beer doesn't taste any better, but the presentation gets kicked up a notch.These glasses from Brand Variety are very nicely priced just under the official Guinness Online Store price.My order arrived in an official Guinness retail box in perfect condition, which was important since this glassware feels slightly fragile.The top and sides of the glass is thinner than other beer glasses I've seen, but the bottom grows heavier and thicker the lower you go.These are thicker at the bottom than other glasses I've seen.I wouldn't rap this glass near the top with a spoon to make any announcements.But I wouldn't worry about a ham-fisted drop on a countertop either.Brand Variety took extra care in packing the retail box in Styrofoam peanuts, and the shipping box was marked fragile, which all helped the contents arrive safely.The marketing on the packaging says each glass holds one imperial pint.This seemed a bit formal so I looked it up, and it is just a standard pint or 20 fluid ounces.I normally get my Guinness Draught in Cans, and a full can fits easily in the glass.In fact, after several uses I thought I was pouring them in correctly because there is consistently room left over in the glass after pouring a can of Guinness.Each time, there is roughly 3/4 of an inch short - perhaps 3 ounces I thought.When I pour a glass, I always take a deep breath, hold the glass at a 45 degree angle, and open and pour the Guinness can immediately, but slowly, and straightening the glass only as it fills up.The little carbonizing widget in the can helps make the perfect head.And the head is the right size and consistency compared to when I have a pint in a bar.There is just a little fluid missing.I have never paid attention, but apparently, the cans I normally buy contain 15 fluid ounces.Knowing a pint is 20 fluid ounces that explains the difference.I've been looking for larger cans, but so far no luck.I would imagine these glasses are exactly what retail bar owners use for their kegs so I've stopped worrying about it.As for clean up I personally would never put these in the dishwasher unless they were filthy - preferring to hand wash lightly with simple dish soap in my wet-bar.And I always get the best results when I rinse the glass and drip dry for just a moment before each any beer.I've read elsewhere that dish soap scum, and other dish washer chemicals prevents a good full-bodied head from forming.Pretty amazing to see the difference of two glasses - one rinsed, one not - side-by-side.These glasses of course work with any beers, and a nice size for home made Long Island Ice Tea; but it seems a tragedy to use them for anything other than presenting and enjoying your Guinness at home.And Guinness is always enjoyed best... with a friend.Thanks and cheers. ...
