Used it tonight
I am a disabled vet with one good hand, this opener can not be easier to use.A simple squeeze of the handle, depress the lever, and your wine is un-corked.Do the same in reverse while holding the cork and you have the cork intacted for re-corking.We love it!

I bought this wine opener to replace a regular corkscrew and I'll never go back. The most useful thing
I bought my Vacu Vin set about 4 years ago and it's still working perfectly.It's so easy to use and it does preserve the wine flavor for at least a few days.We no longer have to finish a whole bottle in one sitting or risk a spoiled wine.I've recommended it to a few of my friends and they all say they can't live without it now.

I could *not* believe my eyes the first time I saw someone use a Rabbit. I've shredded SO many corks and even broken bottles trying to get corks out. Fantastic Gadget
This was a surprise gift. A just because I wanted to, gift. Opening a bottle of wine could not get any easier. I don't know why this opener wasn't available sooner, it is such a great gadget. Nice shaker for one or two people
I purchased this shaker a couple of years ago and have given it a lot of use. First let me say that this is a very good shaker and performs very well. I read some of the other reviews and I have not encountered any problems with the lid sticking or the shaker leaking. It performs as advertised and is a good value for the money. The only drawback might be if you want to make cocktails for more than two people at a time. It's a bit small for that IMO but if you are mixing for one or two folks at a time, it's the perfect size. Another plus is that after many washings (by hand only), the finish has held up like it was brand new. Along with performance and functionality, it is a durable product as well.

Bought this as a gift for a friend.Am buying a different one as a gift for the same friend.There is a basic design flaw as most materials shrink when exposed to cold temperatures.The lid fits INTO the base of the shaker.Fill it with ice and cold gin and the base shrinks.Thus the lid is STUCK.You have to wait for the ice to melt and the base to warm up in order to pull off the top.That seriously cuts into the number of martinis one can consume in an evening.Not worth the under twenty bucks price. ... Amazing feat of mechanical engineering
I have two of these, the Brookstone (expensive) and the Houdini (1/3rd the cost).Both work exceptionally well.The Brookstone is all metal, and will certainly outlive me; the Houdini has some polycarbonate parts, which is why I gave it four of five stars, but feels pretty solid.The remarkable thing is how easily they work -- two flips of the lever and the cork pops right out.Another flip and the cork falls off the screw.This thing really does work.

Okay for a while...
This worked really well when I first got it, but it seems as though it gets harder and harder to use as time goes by, almost as if it's wearing out.And it's not when you insert the corkscrew into the wine, it's when you try to pull the cork out - it's almost impossible now.So, bottom line is - it will work for maybe a year or two but then you'll need another, which to me isn't acceptable for the price I paid. ... Gunk in your wine?
This is the solution.Since I am not very responsible about turning the bottles in my wine collection, there is often some sediment with which to deal.I don't really want to serve my guests "chewy" wine, and this funnel/strainer solves that problem with great style.You'll love how it pours down the side of the decanter.The strainer and funnel are two separate pieces, making cleaning up a snap.

Forget the Rabbit, buy Le Creuset
I bought a plain rabbit a couple of years ago, and though i liked it, it did, at times, take a lot of strength to get a cork out.Then it broke in the sense that it would pull the cork, but not take the cork out of the corkscrew afterward.So I went shopping for a new rabbit, and read a featured review quoting bad experience (not unlike mine) and recommending the le Creuset "screwpull".Though it cost more, I did buy the Le Creuset, and love it.It is way easier to pull any cork than the Rabbit ever was!

Get the same thing for $10.00
This is a very cool product, but there are a million knock-offs out there these days, and you can get them for as little as $10.00! They are almost totally identical, they look just as cool, they work just as well, and the only thing that the knock-offs don't generally have is the fancy wooden box.Cost Plus World Market sells one for $20, and Linen N Things sells one for $9.99.Some companies just don't get the idea of appropriate pricing.

The Rabbit Rocks
I am amazed at the negative reviews on the Rabbit.I've had mine for almost two years, with no problems at all.Yes, it is about time to replace the screw, as the teflon coating will wear.The only reason the Rabbit doesn't get 5 stars is that it chokes on synthetic stoppers; about the only thing that works for these is the winged-style puller.Our Rabbit does about 10 corks a week, and up to 50 in a wine party evening.Once you get in the the flow of the operation, it is a breeze.For those who have problems with the Rabbit, simply send it to me, then stick with screw caps, as most other pullers would likely pose a similar challenge. ...
