Fantastic meat grinder if you have the Kitchenaid mixer
Even if you never thought you wanted to grind meat yourself, you should consider getting this.Anyone who has traveled to Europe can tell you that we Americans have been getting fed the most flavorless sausage in the world.But, it doesn't have to be that way.You can find recipes and casings online and make them yourself.To make sausage, you will also need the sausage stuffer for the Kitchenaid stand mixer.We have also discovered that grinding your own meat for hamburgers makes for more of a difference than you would think (hint: check out Alton Brown's hamburger recipe on foodtv.com).

Another excellent attachment for your Kitchenaid
If you have never considered making your own sausage, reconsider it.This sausage stuffer pays for itself after the first couple uses (provided you already have the food grinder attachment).Anyone who has ever been to Europe knows that Americans have been getting fed tasteless sausage forever.It doesn't have to be that way.You download hundreds of high quality sausage recipes and buy casings from the internet and make your own.
Hole to small - Metal not plastic.
Can't use this stuffer. First, there was a sharp lip on the stuffer and I could not get the casings over it. When I finally did I had a hard time slidding the casing up because the plastic surface was to rough. The hole size was also to small. In my opinion the part should be made out of metal, which is smother. I ended up using my old hand crank unit.

Excellent product
I purchased this about 7 or 8 months ago and because I desired to make my own pasta.I began using the roller without experience.The first time I used it, I made ravioli, which was very delicious.The part I've never been good at is making the dough, and I finally found a good book called The Pasta Bible by Rizzi et al. That book helped me, but I'm still not perfect.The dough recipes always seem to require too much flour.
Home made = Wonderful
These could not be easier to use, the instruction easier to understand or the pasta more fresh! I find I can actually make fresh pasta about as fast as I can make dry.Get the water on the stove at the same time you make the pasta dough.By the time the water boils you are rolling the pasta.Wonderful.

Hemmed and hawed, but really glad I went ahead and bought it!
I've had my Artisan 5 Quart Kitchenaid Stand Mixer for a few years now, and always thought that this cover was a bit of a luxury, and that I could easily find fifty other things to spend twenty-five bucks on. Even for all of that, it occurred to me recently that, with cats in my house, a cover for my stand mixer would save me some pre-mixing clean-up time. Now that I've gotten my cover, I'm thrilled that I decided to buy it!

Seems a bit flimsier than original whip
We just bought this as a replacement for one that came with the mixer almost 7 years ago. This is the right size for my model. I'm sure it will work fine (I only tried it in a dry bowl), but I'm having trouble with the seemingly lesser quality of this replacement whip. My original whip was 100% stainless steel and weighs 4.5oz. This new version has a connector socket that feels hollow, perhaps? It weighs only 3.3oz.

Waste of time and money
An avid amateur chef (and gadget freak), deeply in love with my stand-mixer for baking, I thought this seemed like a good idea for our favorite quick salads like grated carrotts and apples etc. Unfortunately I am not impressed. Unless you make copious amounts of shredded veggies I think you are better off using a regular grating iron.Any time you save cranking stuff through the shredder is quickly lost on clean-up.Get a good grating iron instead, replace it when it gets dull. Be happy. My set is sitting in the back of a cabinet after only a few uses.

Don't buy this thinking you're getting a bigger tray. It's the same little tray that comes with the meat grinder. Only buy this if you somehow broke or lost the one that came with it.

K45SB Replacement Bowl is what I got.
I was really excited about finding a replacement bowl for my kitchen aid mixer.I bake 3 to 4 cakes a week.However, this bowl isbeing advertised as KithenAid K45SBWH, the WH meaning "with handle".I received the bowl without a handle.The handle is a very important feature to me.The advertisement is erroneous and very misleading.I was very disappointed that I didn't get what I ordered.

Don't bother with this, buy a real wheat grinder....
This attachment reveals a design flaw in the Kitchenaid Mixer design.Inside every Kitchenaid Mixer you have a transmission/gearbox that drive both the mixer and the accessory drive shaft. This gearbox has a PLASTIC cover that holds all the gears in place.
Worth the price ?
Generally I've been satisfied with all Kitchen Aid attachments, but this one is a little different.For the price I could buy myself a stand alone grain mill with more features and save the load on my beloved workhorse.

Making tomato juice
This is a wonderful attachment for the Kitchen Aid Mixer.I have made lots of tomato juice this year and the attachment made it so easy.I have always avoided making juice because it was so hard and time consuming.

Not the results I wanted
I thought this would replace the need for a food mill.Not quite.I tried it for tomato sauce and it worked more like a juicer.I do use it when making spinach lasagna to get all of the water out of the spinach.The screen can be hard to clean.
Great for Applesauce but not for rasberries
I tried this for rasberries and it left too much of the berry stuff among the seeds, so foolishly I ran it through again. That cracked the strainer. I'm still using it (cracked and all) for applesauce, going on 15 years, and its still the cat's pajamas. Everyfall it gets loaned out to my friends who don't own a mixer. (Otherwise I'd buy them this strainer pack).

Pasta plates
We received our pasta plates in a timely manner.Although there was one plate missing from the package, a telephone call to a representative of the company brought the plate to us immediately.The whole process of ordering was quite pleasant.

Nice Product, So-So Usability
This attachment is easy to use and, more importantly for homemade pasta lovers, it is easy to clean.It's made of durable plastic resin and and comes with a space-saving storage design.The biggest drawback is that it comes with pretty boring plates: Two types of spaghetti, macaroni,lasagna, and egg noodle.Would have been far cooler if they had included plates for a large gauge rigatoni and a fusilli.

Don't waste your money
Even if you already own the food grinder don't waste your money on the pasta attachment.Since this is more of an extrusion pasta maker, the pasta does not get the nice thin texture that is necessary in fresh pasta.I made lasagna noodles from this attachment and had to roll out every noodle by hand after it had been extruded because it wasn't thin enough.

Very Satisfied
I purchased the Accolade 400 a few months ago; it came w/ a CD video with a demo on how to use the dough hook. I followed the demo for myself and my bread comes out perfect everytime. I make bread about 3 times a week. I'll never go back to store- bought bread again. I've even made sweet and rye breads as well...the dough hook works wonderfully for me.

chipped -- replacing part
I'm replacing the original- on which the enamel chipped after 2 years light use.No metal or hard objects came in contact and I am very unhappy with the Kitchen Aid quality.However, this is the only choice now.It would be better if they made the dough hook from stainless steel.

The can opener attachment is a single, hefty piece of steel; attach it to the mixer's motor hub and position the can under the cutting blade. Pull the handle up and over and the can locks in place. Great coverups!
These covers are so handy! I stack a 3-quart bowl inside my 4-1/2-quart bowl and one lid keeps both bowls clean and ready to go. I store the flat beater inside and keep the other attachments elsewhere, but there's room to keep them 'undercover' too, if you want. I know I'll be glad to have the covers whenever I need to set a mixture aside or store it in the refrigerator for cooling. I'll save enough money on plastic wrap to pay for them. If you've got the 4-1/2 quart KitchenAid mixer, you'll appreciate these covers. Be sure you know exactly which size mixer you want them for.

Good for Storage
The picture makes these look like they have a hole in the middle. They do not, what you are seeing is an indentation to account for the stirring thing which sits below the bowl edge when the mixer is in it's lowered position.
Useful (and inexpensive) accessory
One of the things I really enjoy about my Kitchenaid stand mixer is that I can keep the attachments (whisk, beater, and dough hook) inside the bowl when not in use. These covers fit snugly on the bowl (and even though they have an indentation, still leave room for all the attachments) and do a marvelous job of keeping everything CLEAN. I would HATE having to wash off the dust every time I wanted to use the machine. I'm not talking about leaving it alone for a month at a go. Even two days is enough to get some dust in there, since it lives in a high-traffic kitchen. Since I purchased these covers, I can just clean everything, pop on the cover and I'm ready to go the instant I want to mix something. You really can't go wrong. My only complaint is that they are only dishwasher safe on the top shelf, and I'd even only rate them as 90% safe up there, at least in my high-temperature dishwasher. The lids still fit, and are still functional, but there was a very minor warpage... and that's the top shelf. Still, be careful and you'll have no problems. ... Read more
