Ah, what a splendiferous carafe. The only problem is that when your wife catches the iron cord on the handle and yanks it off the counter, it breaks into many many pieces, necessitating replacement. Zojirushi Thermal Carafe
I just recently received this carafe and am VERY pleased with it.So far, it has kept our coffee piping hot for over 15 hours.I love the design and the swivel base.We have used the glass-lined plastic carafes in the past, and they just don't keep the coffee very hot.The Zojirushi Thermal Carafe is well worth the price.Excellent product!

Very Good

Back to the old frother
Krups has been installing a hard plastic cover on the frother wand of their recent models. This technology is neither as effective nor as resilient as the old "perfect froth" attachment. My hard plastic one broke within two weeks, and sending it back to Krups elicited no response at all, so I just bought the "perfect froth" attachment, and it works fine.

I'm a long time user of the Caffe Bistro combination coffee-and-espresso maker from Krups.I love this machine, but I'm not so fond of the attachment necessary to do the frothing.Maybe it's just me, but I tend to misplace the little black cap at the top of the attachment, and once that happens, frothing becomes a lot less efficient.Which then means an extra $15 shelled out for espresso foam.There are greater tragedies in life, to be certain, but this one is distinctly irritating.

Looks can be deceiving
I ordered this kettle specifically to avoid heating up water in plastic. However, thiskettle emitted a foul chemical odor that also transferred to the water. I boiled it a few times plus tried the water/vinegar suggestion in the brochure but nothing seemed to help. I decided that I didn't want to take the risk of drinking these unknown chemicals so I'm returning it - it's not worth the risk. I can't figure out if it's coming from the "stainless steel" bulb(that feels like plastic to me if you tap on it) that covers the heating element or the plastic seal between the glass & the bulb. Plus the lid has a stong odor too & that is plastic covered in "stainless steel".

I'm a college student who loves a cup of tea in the morning. Instead of wasting my meal plan on the nasty stuff on campus, I can now use this amazing device. It's also perfect for making the instant foods that college kids live off of. I couldn't be happier. The water boils very fast and it's silent and beautiful. I wish the cord was a teeny bit longer, but that's what extension cords are for.

Excellent small kettle for a bargain price
I actually own two of these kettles for several years now. One at home, and one to make a quick tea/coffee at work. They make a quick job of boiling water, have a very loud whistle and just excellent overal. One thing to notice though - it will only hold three to four cups of water. Perfect for a small family, but not enough if you have more than 2 tea drinkers at home. I have not seen rust on either pot I own, so it's possible that the other reviewer had a bad unit.

not quite what I wanted
In my old whistling electric tea kettle, I could put in 1 cup of water and it would whistle when the water boiled.Not this pot.The water will boil, but, no whistle.You need, at least 1 1/2 cups of water for the whistle to work.I wanted the same type of pot I had before, to only need to 1 cup of water in it, and it would whisle.Something like this, should be in the product description.I'll keep the pot now, but, don't know that I would have bought it had I known before about needing more than a cup of water to whistle.

Some Like It Hotter
As with many other products on Amazon.com, the "Ultimate" earned pretty much of a bimodal distribution:People seem to basically love or really dislike the "Travel Tumbler." Either the quality control at Nissan is terrible (i.e., people are getting tumblers that differ greatly in quality), or the reviews themselves are just not very reliable.Coffee lovers may be a pretty emotional bunch when it comes to their preferred caffeine delivery method, and some of the complaints seem steeped more in emotion than practicality. I'll try clarifying the bases of my own evaluation, which places the "Ultimate's" performance somewhere between the very good/very bad polarity I see here.
About as "Spill-Resistant" as a Colander...
Well, other reviewers have extolled the virtues of this mug---including its supposed spill-resistant top.

Just like a typical British kettle - excellent!
As a Brit living in America I spent years boiling the water for my tea on the stove top, as none of the (very few) electric kettles available in the shops looked any good - certainly not up to the standard of a typical British kettle that could be purchased for a fraction of the price back home. Finally I decided to look online and see if I could find a decent kettle there and, after doing extensive research, I settled on this Krups kettle as being the best model available in the US for a decent price. The best thing about it is that it has 1750 watts of power (more than any other kettle I found available in the US), which means that it compensates somewhat for the lower voltage in the US and actually boils almost as quickly as a British kettle. The minimum amount of water you're supposed to boil at one time is 2 cups, and this boils in just under two minutes. However, since I am usually just making just one cup of tea at a time, I often boil just one cup of water and this takes 1 min 8 secs and doesn't seem to harm the kettle, as the base is fully covered by the water. I also save loads of time when cooking pasta now by boiling the water in the kettle first before pouring it into the pot and adding the pasta. This is also much more energy efficient. I have owned the kettle for about three months and have used it daily, and it has not caused me any problems at all. I would highly recommend this item - especially for all you tea drinkers out there fed up with more antiquated methods of boiling water!

initial not staying on issue fixed
I had the same issue as the person who bought it for their grandmother. I called Krups, and they gave me the number of a local repair place. I called them and the repair guy told me to turn the on off button on and off like 6 times and try again.
Premature switch off
This was purchased for my 85 year old mother-in-law and it doesn't work. The button that you push to turn it on always switches off before the water is boiling. If you want hot water one must stand and hold the button down till the boiling occurs.

Not Strong enough...
My husband and I are from Seattle, where we take our coffee very seriously.This product proved to be tempting with it's built in grinder/timer (the fresher the grind the better cup of coffee).However, we have found this feature to be sub-par, as the grind isn't adjustable, and it tends to be too large, therefore not emitting enough of the coffee flavor.We have just bypassed the whole grinding option, and gone back to grinding our own...and now the carafe just broke!Buy something else.

Carafe Needs Improvement
We have had the Cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker for many years. However, the carafe has been replaced 4 times. Either the nibs that hold the lid on break off or the plastic handle itself breaks and/or comes apart. After 1 or 2 times, this gets frustrating -- it seems to be a systemic problem with the carafe design. But, what do you do if you aren't willing to yet abandon the coffee maker and get another model?You're stuck buying multiple carafe replacements over time.

KRUPS is KING
Considering all the bells and whistles on the coffeemaker itself,(all excessive, by the way) the carafes have much to be desired.It seems as if they are made with spun sugar.EXTREMELY FRAGILE, awkward handle and like a comment already listed, I too have replaced the carafe twice...making three so far.My Krups carafe of 10 years is still intact.If they still made the filters, I would still be using that machine.

A must have
If you have the 12 cup Bodum coffee press, you are making some of the best coffee you'll ever taste. Be sure and get the replacement carafe, as eventually, you'll bump it on the faucet and chip it. I'ts a breeze to replace.

Buy backups!
If you enjoy your coffee press like I do then make sure you have a couple replacement decanters in your house.It's easy to replace, just unscrew the bands a bit and slide the glass in and you are good to go once more enjoying that wonderful coffee.

I've been looking for a good insulated 20 oz. mug for a few years and never could find what I wanted in "stainless steel" in this size.I'd never heard of Timolino, but after reading the reviews of other Amazon users, decided to order a mug.
My favourite mug!
This is a great product. The insulation keeps the outside of the mug cool to the touch, and keeps the contents hot for hours; I made tea at 7:00, and the last sip was still quite warm at 10:30. The lid seals completely, yet still goes on and off very easily. The only drawback is that I can't put in in the dishwasher, but I can live with that with all of the advantages!

Frother
I wasn't that thrilled with the frother... or maybe it just wasn't what I imagined... I did not like the taste of the coffee with the froth on top so I returned the item.

If used properly, works well for one year, then croaks.
We're into our second unit. The first one lasted just a year. However, since our family enjoys the FrothXpress, we decided to spring for another one. Beats running out on cold nights to Starbucks, not that there's anything wrong with that...

Great Carafe
We have had this carafe for about a month and so far, so good. So very good. The coffee stays hot for about five hours without prewarming but for about eight hours if I put hot water in it the night before. The hot water, by the way, is still warm when I dump it out in the morning. I have not encountered any leaks as others have mentioned. The SS finish is very attractive and quite easy to clean. It's very easy to pour, just one half turn, and doesn't drip at all. I am very satisfied. I had bought a plastic lined one first, different brand, and it definitely failed my hot test. Another good part about this Zojirushi is the price. And, I might add, you cannot find these carafes in stores anymore. I tried everywhere imaginable with no luck. Thank you Amazon.
A fine compliment to the Cuisinart!
I bought this carafe shortly after I got a Cuisinart self grinder. It worked at first, but then it leaked! :( However, as good to their word, Amazon was great for replacing it. Now the new one will keep coffee hot ALL DAY. (if I desire, and some days, I do.) I know some reviewers complained about it dripping from the spout when you pour it, but I have not experienced that at all. It works great and I highly recommend it! PEACE

I purchased the black version of this carafe to keep coffee warm at work.The carafe is glass lined, but very durable.Someone at work dropped the carafe onto something hard, resulting in a dent in the carafe and scratches in the finish.I had expected the glass liner to have shattered, but the carafe is still working fine.

Great, great cups for discerning coffee/tea drinkers!!!
I wish I could give these mugs more than five stars as 20 oz. mugs are hard to find.Since I drink 16 ozs. organic coffee each morning and want it in one cup along with real milk, real cream and a drizzle of real maple syrup, I was a little anxious when I broke my only one.Well, never fear, Amazon.com is here!After doing a search, I was ecstatic to find the Chantel mugs and I bought one in each of the four colors available at this time.

Could not get the ecopads to work
I really made a mistake and bought 2 sets, thinking I could always have extras ready.I tried all types of grinds, I packed loosely, I packed firmly, I packed tight, I played and played. Still did not get a good cup of coffee.Finally, threw them out.Just taking up space.Learned a lesson on buying quantity.

Weak, Weak coffee
I bought the eco pods but I have been disappointed because the coffee just seems too weak for my liking. I have tried it about 3 times. I was worried I might pack it too tight or put too much coffee in it so that might be the problem. I will keep trying but so far I am disappointed.

Quick-Cup versus Eco-Pad...Winner is Eco-Pad!
I have explored a number of different ways to use my own grind of coffee in the Senseo Coffeemaker.Folding filter paper didn't work....too much water goes by the filter making a week cup of coffee....The Quick-Cup sounded like a good idea....but it doesn't fit the holder tightly enough and too much water goes around the filter to get a good cup of coffee.I found that the Eco-Pad fits tightly into the two cup holder and it works well.The key to any of these re-usable pods is that water cannot be allowed to go around the filter.The pressurized hot water must be forced through the coffee.
