Cuisinart 9-piece Nonstick Stainless Steel Cookware Set
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
    Kitchen
    list price: $410.00

    Editorial Review

Professional kitchens use stainless steel because it performs well and is easy to clean. In its Healthy Kitchen cookware set, Cuisinart combines this professional-quality performance with the convenience of a nonstick surface--and one that survives the dishwasher! As a health bonus, the set contains no aluminum, so there's no worry of it leaching into your food; in addition, the nonstick surface means you'll cook with less oil and butter. Grill up a quick sandwich in the 9-1/2-inch skillet, the only piece without a cover. Tight-fitting lids seal in flavor on both of the saucepans (which hold 2 quarts and 2-3/4 quarts), the 3-1/2-quart sauté pan with helper handle, and the 6-quart saucepot, which also has handles. Dripless rims make pouring neater, and all pieces are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F. Because this cookware is made with copper sandwiched between two sheets of stainless steel, it's highly heat-conductive, so food will burn if the heat is too high, and particularly delicate foods should be watched carefully even on medium and low heats. The hand-polished mirror finish looks great even after many uses. --Meg Heffernan

4-0 out of 5 stars Heats VERY fast
We've used this set now for 6 months and really like it. The non-stick and the fact that they go right in the dishwasher are great.

These pots take getting used to, though. They heat up extremely fast. Cuisinart of course warns you about this and suggests you use them on low heat only. We've had problems with guests and kids - you have to remember to tell guests that they must brown things like ground beef on low, which they are not used to. Our worst experience was with guests of our kids - all of a sudden there was a fire on the stove because the pot had been on high with olive oil in it. These things did not happen with our old pots. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but there is an extra duty of guidance/monitoring which you have to get used to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Too Good to be True!
This is absolutely the finest cookware I've ever used. Cuisinart performs better than advertised.Forget Allclad and the top-dollar brands.Use Cuisinart, and you'll never waste money on the others again. I own about half the pieces Cuisinart makes, and I've been thrilled with all of them. Each cooks evenly, holds up beautifully, and yes, I shove them all in the dishwasher. What a bargain.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best set
Unquestionably the best set for everyday use. I've had it for a year, run it through the dishwasher every time, and it's still like new. ... Read more

Cuisinart 5-1/2-Quart Nonstick Stainless Steel Sauté Pan with Lid and Helper Handle
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
    Kitchen
    list price: $110.00

    Editorial Review

Cuisinart's 5-1/2-quart sauté pan, which comes with a fitted stainless-steel lid, is the ideal size for making one-pot meals. The pan has a bottom inlay of copper sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel for quick heat distribution, on top of which is a multilayer construction of stainless steel and a nonstick cooking surface. This construction, called the Excalibur system, results in lasting food release, so less oil or butter is needed when cooking.

The heavy-gauge stainless-steel handles are heat-resistant, and the handle hole makes it easy to hang the pan from a cookware rack. Cuisinart recommends using a low to medium burner setting when cooking with this pan and recommends using plastic or wooden utensils. --Julie McCowan ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A super pan, can't live without them...
We have two of these (actually the 3 1/2Q size) and we use them on average four times a week.We cook everything in them. The nonstick has held up very well over the past few months, no scratches or scrapes so far.The lid is a great fit.It has very even and strong heat, I haven't needed to cook above medium in months now.You will need the helper handle if you are holding it too long though, as it is very heavy.Great size for a big mix of food.We usually do chicken and sauce in this pan, then finish the noodles in also, so it holds an entire dinner. ... Cuisinart 3-3/4-Quart Nonstick Stainless-Steel Saucepan with Lid
    Kitchen
    list price: $90.00
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Designed for stick-free cooking, Cuisinart's 3-3/4-quart stockpot is perfect for pastas, soups, and big batches of chili. Made of enduring 18/10 stainless steel, the pot is aluminum-free for healthy cooking and features a permanent, multilayer, nonstick surface. Its solid copper bottom is sandwiched between layers of stainless steel for even and quick heat distribution, and it's oven-safe up to 450 degrees, so you can keep your creations warm in the oven after they're done cooking. While many pots age like avocadoes, Cuisinart's shiny mirror finish stays new-looking for a long time and is easy to clean. With a hole for hanging and stout double rivets, the pot's hollow, rolled handle stays cool and comfortable, and its lid has a flat lip for a tight fit and a loop handle that gives fingers plenty of clearance. To protect the nonstick surface, use wooden, nylon, or plastic utensils--never metal--with the pot. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

    Editorial Review

If ever a pan deserved a standing ovation, it's this powerful workhorse. You'll find yourself reaching for it nearly every time you cook dinner, whether it's beef stroganoff, chicken fajitas, or a wild mushroom risotto. A wide, flat bottom and straight sides make it capable of handling nearly any cooking style, and the extra small handle makes lifting heavy dishes an easy task. The copper sandwich bottom heats this large pan in a flash, and does so with no annoying "hot spots."A tight-fitting lid seals in moisture for quick steaming, and the stay-cool handle prevents painful surprises. You can use any utensil you like on this sturdy interior--wood, plastic, or metal--and it'll even hold up to metal whisks with few scratches. A special mirror finish makes this pan bright and shiny even after multiple trips through the dishwasher. Could this be love? --Jill Lightner ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful to cook with, a pain to clean.
This pan does an amazing job of cooking well and evenly and saves me precious clean up time.I can brown meat and then throw it in the over without changing pans, then use the same pan to make gravy.

One of the reasons that I purchased this pan was the fact that it could go into the dishwasher.Except that this pan doesn't really fit into a standard dishwasher because it is just TOO big. Also, do NOT use cooking spray with any kind of high heat on this pan as you get a burnt in cooking spray residue that is a serious pain to get off. That said, I wouldn't give you my pan and I hope to get the rest of the set to match. The $s I have to invest for a oil mister will be worth it for the performance of these pots.

    5-0 out of 5 stars I like it !
A very good pan, solid construction, good materal, nice fit and finish, and it cooks great too. The perfect blend of quality and value in a large pan. It's much better than I expected at this price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pan for the money
I received this pan as a gift about 2 years ago. This was the first stainless steel pan I owned and I went on to buy a full set of All-Clad stainless in the last six months.

The size makes it ideal for a multitude of tasks and I use it for everything - cooking breakfast, braising pot roast and making stew (it goes wonderfully from stovetop to oven -- that's where the extra handle really comes in handy!), to cooking lamb chops and grilled cheese sandwiches.

I have most definitely put this pan through it's paces and itperforms as good as new (even if it is a bit more scratched). Dishwasher, even steel wool for a particularly bad burn-on have not affected performance.

As with all stainless pans, food will stick to it if you don't adequately coat with cooking spray, oil, or butter, so if you are used to non-stick cookware this pan (and other uncoated stainless like it) might not be the pan for you. However, if you want a pan you can do just about anything too (and believe me, I have) you're in the right place.

While not nearly as heavy as my All-Clad products, this pan has adequate heft and heats evenly. If you can't (or don't want to) shell out for All-Clad, I would say this is a reasonable alternative. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

A great addition or start to a lasting kitchen cookware collection, this Cuisinart 3-1/2-quart stainless-steel casserole combines the durability of stainless steel with the heating efficiency of copper for professional-quality results. The versatile casserole goes nicely from stovetop to oven to the table--cook and serve risotto, macaroni and cheese, or scalloped potatoes in the same dish; both casserole and lid are oven safe to 450 degrees. This is a wonderful addition to any cookware set. This item is very sturdy.I like that it comes with a lid verses some steel casserole dishes that you much purchase them seperate. It is very easy to clean and I have cleaned using my dishwasher.I find that it is very easy to handle with the handles on the side.I was originally concerned that it would be difficult if you were making a large dish that filled it but that was not the case at all.I have been nearly full to the top and was able to handle without any problems.I definitely recommend this item. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great pan, great looks, great fit, great price
Like many others I researched and comparison shopped.I went to All Clad first because of reputation and I could afford it. But did I really want to pay that much?Looks, fit, feel, heft, these are all quite subjective depending on one's taste, pocketbook, strength, and size.Unlike other comments, I prefer the handle shape of Cuisinart's Multiply line over All Clad. All Clad's scooped handle is tippy in my smaller hand and the upturned edges press uncomfortably into my palm. The Cuisinart's fit better, feel better, and are more stable in my hand.Mirror finish inside and satin outside, or the other way around (All Clad), again a personal taste issue. The Multiply's satin finish offset by the mirror finish is more distinctive to my eyes. When I looked at them side by side, I preferred the rivets on the Cuisinart's than the All Clad, they looked beefier but are they as strong? My biggest question was, are the Cuisinart's going to last like All Clad and unfortunately no one knows. All of these pots cook great if used properly so it came down to cost, comfort, and looks and for me, that meant Cuisinart.I have gotten so many more pots and pans for the money and if they last half as long, they're half as expensive so if I have to buy them again, I figure I'm still even!Besides, half of the fun is in the shopping, once you have them, enjoy your choice and don't look back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another in a great line.
Cooks as well as All-Clad, is better-looking, cleans like a dream, and costs less.Is slightly lighter, which I regard as a plus.Price is a consideration for me, but even if it weren't, this is still the brand I'd buy.(BTW, you can grip anything with a silicone hotpad.)

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Pan with a Lousy Handle for a Great Price
The Cuisinart Multiclad line (of which I have 2) have excellent cooking qualities, and are the equal of the All-Clad lines (I have several) in that regard. But the handles stink: they are uncomfortable to hold (when lifting the pot), and it is hard to get a secure grip on them, which makes pouring (or transporting) hot liquids a riskier business than it should be. And they can't hold a candle to the All-Clad SS line in the looks dept. If they were priced the same as the All-Clad, they would be a non-starter.HOWEVER, at 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the All-Clad they are a great buy which can't easily be matched, and if you can cope with the handles you'll be very happy. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best pans out there!
I have a huge selection of these pans now - they're that awesome.Talk about no cleanup - just run a sponge over them with a squirt of soap and you're done.Nothing sticks, the surface doesn't peel (Teflon for dinner? Not with these pans. You get that with QVC's pans!) and the things just heat so evenly and burn absolutely nothing.I love this pan so much - it gets used almost on a daily basis. After a year, it still looks new.I love these pans - I've not been this satisfied with any pan for the past 3 years.I'm glad to have FINALLY found some that actually work. Now I'm out to buy the stainless!

5-0 out of 5 stars For those who love to cook and hate to clean!!
Emerilware nonstick cookware is amazing!I have used this saucepan along with an arsenal of other Emerilware products for the past year and a half and I recommend it to everyone -- from those just beginning to cook, to those "seasoned" chefs! In fact, I just purchased the Emerilware nonstick 10 piece set as a present for my Mother. And, I am currently adding to my own collection.

I can't promise this cookware will make you a better cook, but you will definitely have more FUN cooking! The cookware heats quickly and evenly and the handles stay cool... it looks great... the nonstick material is tough and durable (I've had NO problems with it peeling off in 1.5 years of hard use)... the nonstick layers allow virtually effortless cleaning -- even the worst messes just rinse away with a dab of soap and a sponge, with no scrubbing required!!!

So don't wait -- buy this product NOW! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pan, use daily almost!
This Emerilware stuff is just fabulous.I have a bunch of it and I just love it.I've been using my for a year now and I'm just as thrilled with it as the day I took it out of the box.Felt like Christmas in February. If you've ever had a hard time trying to find a decent set of pans, then you know what I mean! You cannot whisk a cream sauce in these though - you'd scratch the surface. However, I'm not sure if you can use a plastic whisk - I would think that you could and I'm going to see if it works.I really love these pans - they clean up so easily and look fantastic.I'm ready to get the stainless ones now - they're really that great! If you look closely, you'll see that these pans are the ones that Emeril uses on his live show.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a very good pot
The Emerilware saucepan looks good. Black exterior, black nonstick inside, shiny stainless lid. A couple too many "Emeril" signs but other than that, esthetically perfect.

It's heavy. Thick aluminum gives perfectly uniform heating across the bottom and halfway up the sides. Very fast reheat after you add an ingredient. Nonstick works fine so far.

And the handle. Stays cold. Not cool, cold. Really impressive. The little loop opposite the handle gets hot but is still useful.

At the price Amazon.com charges for this, everybody should get one.

Anolon Professional 12-1/2-Inch Nonstick French Skillet
Average Customer Review: 2.0 out of 5 stars
    Kitchen

    Editorial Review

With its 12-1/2-inch diameter, this skillet holds a mighty big omelet and is perfect for family-size meals. It also lets you stir-fry and sauté without fat or troublesome cleanups, thanks to its nonstick anodized-aluminum construction. While plain aluminum pans might easily warp and often react unpleasantly with food, anodizing--or thickening the oxide film of aluminum--creates an extremely tough, scratch-resistant surface. As a result, any chef or home cook can work with aluminum's great heat conductivity without worrying about discolored tomatoes. DuPont's triple-layer "autograph" nonstick system ensures that oil isn't needed for sautéing or a scouring pad for cleaning. And the concentric circles on the cooking surface aren't just to remind you that you're using a Circulon pan. This unique "high-low" design protects the nonstick surface by exposing only the raised portions to wear. The stainless-steel handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees, adding to the versatility of this pan. When you've finished cooking, remember that a damp sponge works best for cleaning anodized aluminum. In addition, to protect your pan, it's best not to use sharp metal objects. --Laura Cuthbert ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Fry Pan I Ever Had
I have had many many fry pans, some costing 6 times what this one did. It is fabulous...absolutely NO sticking and you can clean it up with a swipe of a paper towel. BUT it does NOT come with a lid..you need to purchase that seperately. You will not be disappointed in this pan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Professional handles DO NOT GET HOT
I want to confirm for everyone that the Professional metal handles do not get hot at all.

The lower quality Calphalon pans come with hard plastic handles and 10 year warranties. This professional pan has a lifteime warranty.Possibly because the handle will never fall apart like plastic. Excellent product!

2-0 out of 5 stars Very dissapointing handles (and no spoon)
I must say I didn't notice the metal handle or I certainly would not have bought this pan.It was the ideal size, and I wanted a glass cover. But metal handles get hot, and are not acceptable. This handle is also very long, which isn't obvious in the picture.

The glass dome lid is high and I would like it, except that its handle is made of some rough metal that is uncomfortable to pick up by hand.

And also, there was no nylon spoon.

I have other calphalon with good handles.I'm going to send this one back and search for more like that. This kind of pan might look more "professional", or whatever. But, unless you cook with potholders everywhere (which I don't), it's just a pain. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Twice as hard as stainless steel, the anodized aluminum ofthis 10-inch crêpe pan from Anolon provides a highly durablecooking surface. The construction also allows for even and quick heatconductivity without the hot spots that can ruin a delicatecrêpe. The pan's three-layer Autograph nonstick coating is idealfor the quick-cooking nature of crêpes and cleans up easily. Thephenolic handle, attached with a stainless-steel double rivet, stayscool on the stovetop and withstands oven use up to 350 degrees F.Anolon's construction requires very little cooking oil, but plastic, nylon, or wooden utensils are recommended. The pan is suitable forsolid plate, radiant ring, ceramic, halogen, and gas cooking surfaces.Hand washing keeps the nonstick surface and aluminum in optimumcondition. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A little too light weight....
I purchased this crepe pan after reading the reviews.(I cancelled another.)
I have learned to equate 'heft' with quality. This item (packed loose) seems very flimsy (which is why it heats and cools so rapidly).I paid $15.99 for this item.I see it is now listed at $19.99.I believe it is not even worth the lower price I paid.Stick with Anolon Advanced if you are seeking quality (or the inexpensive Calphalon 'Commercial' which is heavier weight).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Pan
Just got this pan... out of the box rating is a 5... only time will tell if this rating will endure.

    Pros:

1)Quickly heats (I mean really really quickly). Also cools-off pretty quickly.
    2)Only Medium heat needed
3)Non-stick works great...hardly even needs a Spatula.Very little oil needed - if needed at all, use olive
4)Cooks evenly - probably because it heats quickly, it's a quick conductor.Heat travels quickly throughout the pan and doesn't concentrate/build-up in one area.
5)Flat rims makes it extremely easy to slide crepes off.
6)Handle NEVER gets hot... ergonomic (easy to hold), and the pan is light.
    7)Cleaning is easy.
    8)Looks cool.

The Calphalon 1) takes a long time to heat, 2) handle is too small (for a heavier pan)and gets hot, 3) Rims are steeper

Heard the Calphalon will lose it's non-stick layer within a few months.Time will tell if the Analon will do the same - I will take good care and try to prevent that from happenning.Maybe it's something that can happen to all Crepe Pans?

The Analon has a DuPont Autograph surface, but time will tell if the surface holds up to the DuPont brand-name......

Overall, it's a great pan, cooks fast, evenly, and easily. It should last if you take care of it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Crepe Pan
I bought two crepe pans: the Analon crepe pan and the Lodge 10 1/2 inch cast iron pan.I preferred the Analon pan because of the following reasons:
    -It doesn't get sticky.
-The handle is better designed than the Lodge pan because it doesn't get hot.
-It is very versatile: excellent for Vietnamese crepes, pancake and omelettes.

What I don't like about this item:
-Its non-stick layer won't last long if get scratches.

Overall, I would give it afive-star; however, it took me more than three-and-half weeks to receive most of my orders from Amazon. ... Read more

Ideal for myriad cooking options, this four-piece set is sturdily madeof 18/10 stainless steel. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good deal, but not as good as advertised
This is a fine and built-to-last product and is well worth the price. What botheres me is that Amazon has List Price: $166.99
and if you check out the Calphalon site it is only $59.99 list.I tried to send Amazon a note about it, but I didn't explain it properly, or my note was just mis-understood.
As far as cookware goes though, this is still a great deal.

4-0 out of 5 stars Can't beat this price
I bought this multipot as a Christmas gift for my parents and they absolutely loved it.They were in need of a large pot for cooking pasta and it sure is handy to have the strainer insert. The only draw back with the strainer insert is that it doesn't go very deep into the pot - which means you have to put about 6 qts of water in to boil pasta and the pasta only sits in the top 4 qts.Okay, so it might take a little extra time to get the water boiling if you want to use the strainer - no big deal.Another great thing about the pot is the steamer insert it comes with. The drawback here is that you can't really use both the steamer and strainer inserts at the same time to cook pasta and steam vegetables because the water would come to high in the pot. This is a bummer because the 12 qt multipot would have this capability but not so with this 8 qt one.The pot and lid are made of high quality materials. The 8 qt multipot has a separate bottom and I've heard of instances where the bottom has come detached after being subjected to high heat. The 12 qt multipot however is one complete piece.Overall I think the 12 qt multipot is a better pot, but unless you need to cook for 6 or more people, I would suggest going with the 8 qt.You really can't go wrong for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars For The Price, You Can't Beat This Pot
As the owner of a full set of Calphalon Simply Stainless you may imagine that I'm a fan of this line, and you'd be right. As one reviewer suggested, please ignore the negative reviews by some customers.I am baffled by the fact that some folks never grasped that childhood lesson, HOT-HOT-DON'T TOUCH! I will also confess that I'm confused by one reviewer who said:

"To cook pasta or food, you need to add an additional 2 quarts of water (the amount needed to touch the bottom of the insert) making it more time consuming to use."

O-K...I guess the logic there just escapes me. I've made tons of pasta, with great and effortless success. The steamer basket is terrific and holds a generous amount as does the pasta basket. This pot is very sturdy and although I like my LeCreuset 7qt dutch oven best for soups and stews, this is my second favorite.

For the price and the quality you can't beat it. ... Read more
