5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality value.
This is a handy, sturdy and attractive bottle opener you can use to either flip open pop-top caps or pierce the top of cans. Its hefty body fits comfortably in the hand, making it require less force to operate than the more traditional bottle openers do, keeping you away from cramped hands and other tension related injuries, and rendering it perfect for broth cans, soda bottles, cans of baby formula, etc.
Like the rest of the products from the OXO Good Grips line, this one is a great value of superior quality, unsurpassed durability and flawless performance. Its ergonomic design and big, pressure-absorbing, outstanding non-slip grip, complete with flexible fins to accommodate your fingers and an oversized hole for easy hanging, allow you comfortable, daily, wet or dry use. Its elegant, stylized, standard OXO shape will fit perfectly with the rest of your OXO utensils in the kitchen or in the bar.
Its easy-to-clean, simple construction and dishwasher-safe, hard-wearing materials make this a tool that you will be able to depend on for years, and its stainless-steel metal parts will permanently keep your rust worries away.
After submitting this product to over two years of normal use, mine is still just like new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the kitchen
I buy the OXO 19pc set and it didn't come with a bottle opener. I got this and it is great for opening cans of broth when your cooking, or cans of formula for a baby.

The handle is large enough this my hand doesn't cramp up when I'm using it and it is very easy to clean, just toss it in the dishwasher.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Time Looking For Somehting Else
I debated this purchase because I originally wanted an all metal design. But after purchasing this model, I became convinced that the soft handle is the way to go. The actual metal part is thick and robust, it has not flexed or bent after opening hundreds of adult-beverage bottles. Price is very reasonable. This one piece started me on an OXO kick! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Still going strong, eight years after I bought mine
I bought my Nissan mug at the end of 1996, when I started biking to work every day. It's suffered a couple of dents as a result of popping out of the old bike's water bottle cage a few times. An ex-girlfriend borrowed the mug and absentmindedly ripped the rubber sleeve off, so for years I just had a bare steel mug (which stays in the water bottle cages better).A year ago I was riding in a bus shuttle to a client's office and found a new rubber sleeve, so now my mug is complete again.

I've had the same issues as everyone else: the flip lid can leak even when closed (especially on bumpy pavement), it collects coffee in the little thing on the lid so you end up with a dot of coffee on your nose, and it doesn't fit in most car cupholders.

All of this gets mitigated, though, when you consider that as long as you don't melt the lid, one of these things should last you a *very* long time.So much better for you and the planet than disposable coffee cups.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but...
Overall, this is a passable insulated coffee-mug.True that the lid latch isn't spill proof (more like "slosh-proof"), and it sometimes leaves a drop on your nose if you're not paying attention. My biggest complaint about this travel mug is that there's a rubber seal inside that's impossible to clean:Unscrew the lid, and look down inside the mug.Just underneath the black plastic rim there's a thick translucent-white rubber seal. After using this mug for several weeks, I discovered that some of my coffee (with cream & sugar please) gets trapped up underneath this seal and the funky cheese starts to grow.Nissan replaced my mug under warranty, and sure 'nuff, the new one did this too. It's pretty gross. Now I use a cheap plastic travel mug without any seals inside -- it's a whole lot easier to clean!

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for coffee, not great for tea
I asked for and received this mug for Christmas. The next day I used it to drink coffee and it worked great. When I returned to work I used it to have some green tea.(I generally drink green tea through the week and coffee on the weekends.)I noticed that even though I had only used it once for coffee and cleaned it out well, there was a strong coffee order coming from the rubber ring that sits between the steel and the plastic on the inside. It took about three days of using and cleaning it to get rid of the smell. No big deal, I thought, I'll just use it for tea.

After about a week I noticed that the inside was turning brown from the tea.The only way I could get it clean was to use a scotch bright pad and it is sort of hard to get your hand in there to scrub it.Finally I just decided to buy a cheaper stainless steel mug with a plastic lining at my local discount store (you know which one I'm talking about). So now I use the cheaper one for tea and the Nissan for coffee.

In summary, if you are a tea drinker then I'd advise using a different mug with a plastic lining. On the other hand, coffee drinkers will love it; it has great ergonomics, keeps your drink hot, and looks good. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid construction. Will last forever!
Don't waste your time on cheaper brands. This shaker will stand the test of time.Unlike other reviewers, my shaker is not too tight at all, though I imagine freezing it would make it hard to pull apart. You can't go wrong here.ZH

4-0 out of 5 stars Great shaker with "Super" tight strainer/lid...
I really like this shaker but wow that shaker is really in place!I suppose it's a pretty good thing too because I have used other shakers and while shaking up the mix the top went flying and the icky-sticky stuff took a trip around the room.I use mine mostly for making Margarita's.I love that you can keep it in the freezer after cleaning so that it's nice and frosty when you are ready to use it.But........you better work out those fingers and hands cuz brother that lid is tight! I've found the best way for me to loosen it's grip is to hold with one hand and slightly twist with the other while pushing up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Shaker
I like this a lot.It is very compact and easy to use. I like the built in ice strainer. You just slip off the cap and pour. No hassles of the top jamming and having to beat it open with a knife. You will need a finer strainer if you want to filter out citrus pulp, for example. But for most cocktails you are just straining out the ice. But I like this one for it's convenience. ... Read more

Virtually unbreakable, this lightweight, vacuum-insulated thermos travels to work or recreation easily, and for hours afterward, coffee, tea, or broth will still be hot. Or lemonade, iced tea, or a sports drink will still be chilled. Tapered toward the top and slim enough (11 inches high, 3 inches in diameter at bottom) to safely pour with one hand, it slips into a briefcase or backpack. Pouring is a snap--twist off the cup, which holds 6 ounces of liquid, twist the stopper a few turns and pour through a no-drip slot (there's one for righthanders, another for lefthanders) without removing the stopper. Fine threading ensures the stopper seals tightly, while the exterior has a handsome satin finish. 5-0 out of 5 stars Best bang for your buck. Period.
I'll keep it short and sweet. This is the best value you will find while performing at a top notch level.I've been reading other reviews here, and they are pretty much all spot on.I only wish every...product I buy performs as well as this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great! Excellent thermos for hot beverages
This is an excellent product. I like to carry around hot coffee or tea with me throughout the day, and this does the trick.I often leave my house at 11 and don't get back until 10 at night, and this thermos will keep my beverage steaming hot even with me pouring a drink every so often. That's also a good point, the screw-top doesn't have to come completely out in order to pour; it can be screwed open half-way, and it serves as a convenient pouring spout. It's very well-designed--the pour stream is just the right speed, and when I'm done, nothing leaks over the edge and down the side of the canister.

The bottle itself is quite sturdy and, as someone mentioned, makes a very pleasant gong sound when struck with your finger.I dropped it once on the hard asphalt parking lot, and it came out unscathed. The cup top, however, is much softer apparently, and dented quite easily. It's not really damaged, I'm just a little upset that it dented when the rest of the bottle didn't.

Overall, a very good choice of thermos if you like to have a hot drink all day long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best travel "Thermos" out there
I was quite frustrated by many similar designs that just didn't seem to work right, although at the time I had no idea how good a travel "thermos" should be.I thought all these 'munition' styled insulated bottles were made the same, but clearly they aren't.

The lid on my current travel thermos broke and I was in the market for a new one, and by accident ran into the Amazon reviews.I couldn't believe the claims. But it made sense, considering "clone" bottles cost half to 1/3rd the price of the Nissan Stainless, maybe clones weren't made with similar standards.

I tried similar designs from Starbucks, Dicks Sporting Goods, and a kitchen supply store and none could keep liquids warm past 4 hours, much less hot. They all came with fancy pour spouts, a spring loaded pop-up or insta-open fancies that all broke in 1-2 years and were very difficult to clean [coffee in the spring mechanisms was impossible to clean without disassembling the non-user serviceable spouts]. What ever happened to a simple cork like cap?

I was surprised by the Nissan. As it use is for travel, weight and size is important so while a tad bigger and heftier, keeping liquids _hot_ at least 8 hours or longer was far more important, and it did that very well.It had a simple screw on cap, that was superbly easy to clean. This is the one year anniversary of my bottle, and I couldn't be more happier. It has many dings and bumps today, dropped numerous times, treated without respect as it goes through hell all day and still rocks!

Some quickie notes to help other readers:

Heat retention:although this is claimed to past 12 hours, it depends on how much liquid remains in the bottle. The energy of the remaining liquid is extracted faster than if the bottle were full.If you don't precharge the bottle with boiling water for at least 10 minutes or longer, the liquid won't stay hot as long either.I drink small 'sake' size sips of coffee all day at work and with this bottle, 8 hours is the norm.

Cleaning: for stainless steel, a simple method of removing coffee stains is baking soda, i.e., sodium bicarbonate ... it neutralizes the acids and the stains literally strip away from stainless steel.A tablespoon added to boiling water, soak for half hour or longer [for best results, recap the bottle and leave overnight] will restore a new shine with little to no scrubbing.

Excellent product, it could last forever! ... Read more

This snazzy, four-piece barbecue set includes everything you need for an elegant cookout: a turner, a two-pronged barbecue fork, serrated tongs for extra grip, and a basting brush. Made of high-carbon stainless cutlery steel with smooth, stay-cool rosewood handles, they're sized for portability (handles are 10 inches long) and for use with smaller grills. 3-0 out of 5 stars Unbelievably Well Made!
I recently purchased the Tail Gator set and I never imagined a BBQ set could be so well made. The handles are real solid wood and the blades are stainless and clean up in a second.A friend of mine bought an imported set and they could not hold a candle to mine. The blades were flimsy and it had a cheap feel.My Tailgator set weighs almost twice what the import does.Overall I rate this set tops. The nylon case is also great because I can store all the utensils together and stuff them in a drawer. The nylon is real heavy as well.I think this set will make a great gift.

Perfect for cookouts, tailgate parties, or car camping, Weber's Smokey Joe Gold grill is the classic traveling grill. With its 14-1/2-inch-diameter grate, the Smokey Joe Gold easily cooks three steaks at a time or twice as many burgers. The porcelain-enameled bowl and lid resist rust and deliver even heat. When it's down, the lid lock doubles as a lid holder, letting you slide the lip out of the way while you cook. And, when the feast is done, simply fasten the lid lock over the top handle, pick up, and go. As an added bonus, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for "Cooking on the Road"
    The Beautiful Pacific Northwest
This is the perfect charcoal grill for taking on a trip.We recently took an RV trip with friends throughout Oregon/Idaho/Washington.This little grill was perfect for an end of the day BBQ of steaks, chicken, or ribs. The close up and lock handle is perfect for packing it back in the RV.The side and top vents are designed for keeping the coals going and the lack of bottom vents is a PLUS because the ashes stay in the grill, not in your RV storage compartment.

This one exceeded my expectations and allowed us to cook in the outdoors. Thanks Weber!

5-0 out of 5 stars 1978 sloppy joe
In '78 or'79 I bought a Weber "sloppy joe" coal burning barbeque.
It costed over $40.00 back then. It is similar to you "smoking joe" but no clamping handle on top

It's still a favorite of mine, but the name is worn off the handle, and some enamel is missing.

    Love that old barbeque.

5-0 out of 5 stars I replaced a no name brand with this one!
When I first moved into my apartment with a small balcony I wanted a little bar-b-que.I went to a large store and bought a brand X never-heard-of-it-before bar-b-que.The silver finish disappeared before the coals finished burning off the starter fluid.

I took it back and got this Weber.I LOVE it.It cooks great.Steaks for two, burgers for four, chicken drumsticks for up to six (depending on how hungry you are).

It seems to cook pretty evenly, without hotspots other than right in the center of the grill, and if you are only cooking one piece of meat, the center is fine.

I have to agree that it would be nice if there was an ash dump, but here's a thought--your BBQ is small--WAIT UNTIL IT COOLS, take out the grill, hold the grill over your dumpster, turn the grill upside down. All done!

    *****Final Thoughts*****
This is a great grill, and it cooks well, but don't plan on feeding the 5,000 because its just a little guy.Despite negative reviews regarding convection, this grill cooks very well, and evenly.I have to agree on the ash emptying level, but I think it's easy to deal with. ... Read more
