    Electronic Talking Battleship

    Toy

    Editorial Review

Hasbro's Electronic Battleship will get your adrenaline rushing as you race to sink all five of your enemy's ships before she can sink yours. "Task Force One, armed. Man your battle stations!" commands the game-board admiral, sirens wailing and lights flashing as you match wits with your opponent in four different games. You can even play solo, challenging the talking game board on three different skill levels. It's the ultimate sea duel game! Requires four AA batteries. --Julie Ubben ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This Game ...!Stick with Classic version ...
I have to agree with the guy who said that there is very little "electronic" about this game. For the money, I was actually expecting the game to sense where your ships are, etc. This is nothing more than the classic game played by enetering your ship coordinates and missles fired into a mechanism that keeps track and makes a few noises when one is hit.Not easy for the little ones to play.HASBRO YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED PUSHING THIS ...!

5-0 out of 5 stars Endless fun
My husband and daughter used to play this game constantly when it was first released. It was lost when we moved. My daughter is now 20 years old and I'm looking to buy the game for them again. This game is tons of fun and will keep the family occupied for hours!(Hint: devise a system for keeping the pieces together. We used zip-lock baggies.)

2-0 out of 5 stars Hasbro "Missed The Boat" on this one!
I sure expected a lot more out of this game based on its price. Essentially the only thing electronic about this is the preprogrammed games and the cheesy, repetitive sound effects. Okay, a little red light flashesif you hit a boat, but so what? For the money, Hasbro should have: 1) Atthe very least printed out the punched in letter/number combo on the lightgrid. Ever play this with a kid who forgets to call out the coordinatesthen forgets what they were altogether!Frustrating! Putting this on thedisplay probably would have cost pennies. 2) Had LEDs in the grid. Wantthose plastic pegs? Get the much cheaper and essentially the same, oldfashioned "manual version". This doesn't do much more. I was atleast expecting LEDs to light up in the grid after the coordinates were putin. Okay, nickels this time, not pennies. But nope. 3) Keep track of what'ssunk. Hey, they have a little key with the boats on it - how tough could itbe to put a little lit up LED next to each when it's sunk? They don't evenhave the peg holes up top anymore to mark your sinkings! How lame isTHAT?

In this day and age of high tech computer wizardry, this gameMISSES THE BOAT! It should be quick and inexpensive to put in what isreally missing, especially for the price. Instead, Hasbro gives yousomething not much better than the classic....at 3X the $$.

If thisweren't a kid's gift I would have returnedthe one I bought. Save yourmoney and stick with the classic. Don't say you weren't warned! ... Read more

    Bop It - Extreme
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Toy
    list price: $25.99 -- our price: $24.99
(price subject to change: see help)

    Editorial Review

Even electronic toys have gone extreme. Kids love the original Bop It, an electronic toy that challenges response time to pull, twist, and bop different parts of the toy. The extreme version adds two more tasks, more sounds, and a taunting, smart-aleck announcer who directs the game. As you get better, the game moves faster until you miss a beat and lose, accompanied by a fair amount of noise and ridicule from the toy. People who don't think they'd ever want to play Bop It Extreme won't be able to put it down; it instills a compulsive need to bop till you drop. It can be played in a group and makes a good party game--even for serious adults. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Too much, and makes you lose track of time!
I absolutely LOVE and RECOMMEND this toy for all children and adults. Not only do you get to test your hand/eye coordination and listening skills, but you can have a blast while doing it and challenge your friends and family. My only issue with the BOP-IT EXTREME is the volume, it's not something you can play in quiet/ without disturbing others, I had to solve the SHHHHHHHH BE QUIET issue by putting some duct tape over the speaker to muffle the nosed down a little bit, there is NO volume controls. but overall it's a very fun and unique gift to give and toy, and it makes for a great drinking or party game for adults!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Special needs Bop-It Genius
My second son has cerebral palsy and struggles with lots of skills. However, much to my surprise he excels at this crazy little game! I am a physically able bodied woman approaching 40 and my high score so far is 17. That's on a GOOD day. My son just hit his personal best score of 130. Imagine his dismay when I looked it up online and informed him that the top score possible was 250. He doesn't know what he will do after 250. Now, if only someone creative could formulate a way to MARKET this skill. ;+) If we didn't already have Bop-It Extreme I would much prefer the second edition because of the volume control and/or headphones. However, I do like the fact that we have to master some patterning and math skills to figure out the highscore from the sound beats. Happy bopping.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bop it Extreme II is the best!!

With 100 shapes to choose from, this cookie cutter set offers kids the perfect combination of fun and education. Placing the cutters in their various categories, for example, is a playful exercise that teaches abstract logic and builds confidence. Categories include letters, numbers, geometric forms, animals, plants, vehicles, symbols (such as adollar sign and a question mark), seasonal themes, and miscellaneous shapes such as an umbrella and a bell. The cutters are formed of stiff, durable plastic, are colorful and fascinating enough to be used outside the kitchen, and are dishwasher-safe. A tip to grandparents: keep this set handy as a special treat, unique to your home, for little visitors. --Fred Brack ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars not worth the money
these are not worth it. the dough get stuck in the cutter and it is very hard to get the dough out. I had to stop right in the middle of baking and go and buy metal cutters to finish my holiday cookies.I will now give these to the day care next to me for the kids to play with.

5-0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY VALUE FOR MONEY, unlimited by imagination!
Hmm... Roshco 100-Piece Plastic Cookie Cutter Set - simply value for money!

If you have kids below 16, go for it.
As for me, I am forever young at heart especially with this 100 cookies cutters!

As for baking, some of the cutters are so BIG (so will be the cookies! I have to watch my weight!), unless you have a baking party for kids.
Each kid get to choose their favourite cutter to bake the cookies. Parental supervision is a must since the cookies dough do get stuck on some cutter.
At the end of Baking Day, each kid get to bring home - their prized cookies of the favourite shape! Hey MUM, LOOKED! My football cookies!

Another option, kids can draw outline of the various cutter on Art and Craft Day, and PAINT their Mona Lisa masterpiece!

Whatever you want to do with this cutter, simply limited by ones's imagination!

    Exploit and explore.
I am sure many did especially with the alphabet and number cutters.

psst...the cutters occupy reasonable amount storage space.

2-0 out of 5 stars Big ones
The cookie cutters are good... that is if you like to make cookies the "american" size!! Boy! They are BIG, so not only the cookies are going to be huge but you need a lot of space to store the whole collection. As for the shapes I was dissapointed with the selection, it is not that great. I love the complete alphabet though. ... Read more

This toy is fun if you play it with my dad it is also very durable.I think that starting at age six will love playing this
    board game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Truly Life's Greatest Reward
I must admit, I really like to see classic board games come back to every family possible. It is unfortunate a lot of families don't have really the time to share the simple things like board games anymore. There are some of them that are just plain classics. The game Of Life Is no acception. The game is one those simple delights that every family should really play. The game plays quite well, with the object of going through life, and trying to retire with the most money possible. I really loved this game when I was much younger, and for family fun for all, this should be well worth the purchase.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not your father's game of life!
I played this game countless times as a teenager in the 70's.My two sons (8 & 5) wanted it and I thought it would be a blast from the past. While some of the changes in the game play itself are fine, I couldn't get over the poor quality of the game board itself. The spinner I grew up with was so durable. The new one sucks. It's virtually impossible to spin it without the whole wheel falling off. That in itself was very disappointing - and really caused a lot of frustration! Why cut cornes?Especially when many of the people buying this game, probably played it as a kid!? ...
