why ooohh why ?
My biggest problem with this so far was getting it out of the box. All of the parts were in little bags but vacuum sealed together as one unit. I had to tear and shread all the plastic to pieces before I could get the parts seperated. I even tried to pry them apart with a screw driver before spending 20 minutes tearing the plastic into pieces. As most others, it gives no directions, specifically with heating. I see now that you can contact Wilton to get instructions, but why do I as the consumer have to jump through hoops to get something that is pretty standard when you purchase anything. I mainly wanted it for the look and design which I am happy with.

Pretty, but a pain
Aside from the other reviewers' complaints about the lack of recipes or instructions, having used this with a standard sterno can or tea-candle, I can attest that the little incredient cups are a bit too small, and trying to clean the pot (especially after using cheese) is extremely difficult.We quite literally cut our wrists tryint to scrub the interior out.The top opening is sharp with little notches, so you really have to watch out with your sponge and bare wrists.We're not sure if we'll ever use this again- and most certainly would not recommend it unless it's on sale.

Does not strain tea leafs
I purchased this tea pot because of the strainer in the spout.The holes in the strainer are too big and do NOT strain tea leafs. Pouring must be done very slowly to avoid water leaking through the top.Unfortunately, in order to make two cups at a time, the water level comes too close to the top. Now, I have to figure out the intricate way to repack this item to return it. Should have ordered one of the pots offered that has the metal tea strainer inside.

NOT JUST FOR BREAKFAST
Seems like most of the reviews for this item all talk about it's use in doing breakfast.And it's true...you can do loads of pancakes, a full package of bacon along with sausages or eggs, and so much more.you could do your entiire breakfast on it if you choose.But it's not just for breakfast.I've used it as an indoor grill to grill boneless chicken.You can also do a ton of burgers on it as well with room to toss on a few dogs or brats.Don't limit yourself to just breakfast.

Comes with a drip catcher which is fed by drip gutters that go all along the sides and front of the griddle.Clean-up is really a snap with the very good non-stick surface of this one.Most of the time it can be just rinsed clean.It's big and takes up space so make sure you have enough counter space for it.If I would say there is one minor complaint it is that it seems to cook faster on the edges more than the center of the griddle so just move the food around a bit.It's not way off...just slightly.

Cooks fine, but poorly made
I used the griddle for two weeks, cooking pancakes, eggs, burgers, etc., and it worked great, as long as the temp control was turned way up, almost to the max. But this morning, while I was washing the griddle in the sink, one of the legs snapped off without any noticeable cause: I grabbed it to move the griddle for rinsing, and it broke off in my hand. Since the legs are part of the griddle's molded-plastic frame, repair means bringing out the glue and hoping the plastic is a formula that accepts adhesion.

I haven't contacted the company re: warranty yet, but will do so tomorrow, when the work week begins. I'll update this review if I find any joy there.

At its price, I didn't expect the Rival griddle to be a top-quality item, but I did think it would last longer than two weeks. On the other hand, also given its price, I'm not going to get as bent out of shape over its failure as I would if it cost $100 -- one advantage of buying cheap.

Love it!
I registered for this electic griddle for our 2003 wedding. I love it. It's just me and my husband right now, so you'd think it would be too big...but it's not. I can make hashbrowns, sausage and eggs all at the same time (or 8 pieces of french toast). Be Careful!
I love this basket but made one crucial mistake when using it for the first time. When I heated the stone in the microwave I had it in the napkin. Not a good idea, as the stone burnt a hole right through the cloth. And there is no way to replace the cloth other than buying a whole new basket. Now I have to wrap the stone in a separate cloth and the bread in another cloth instead of using the blue cloth that came with it.

Keep bread warm with stone!
The stone insert was an excellent design. It's easy to use (stick the stone in the oven with your bread), and your bread stays warm on the table for a long time! I love this.

Good buy for small gatherings
This 3 quart size is good for hors d'oeuvers and buffet dinners of 25 people. The quality of construction, features of glass lid and steam pan, makes this a good buy.

Please carefully read chaffing dish product descriptions. Do not buy if there is NO steam pan mentioned. A quality chaffing dish will have a base, Sterno container, water pan, food dish, and lid. A plus will be a lid holder. The heated water under the food pan keeps an even distribution of heat, i.e., no hot spots.

The items, three were purchased, shipped quickly. I needeed larger chaffing dishes, but the fast ship promise of Amazon compared to the questionable shipping history of an ebay store won the sale for Amazon.

Wonderful cake stand
I've had this cake stand for about 2 years now and I have used it many times. It still looks great and it survived my male roommate from my last year of college (many other things didn't). I also found this to be very useful recently when I was making a huge batch of cookies for an office party. None of my mixing bowls were big enough, but this (turned to the punch bowl side) was perfect. Thanks Target!

One of the better pepper mills for the price
If you buy crushed black pepper, stop immediately. There is a world of difference between store bought pre-ground pepper and freshly cracked pepper, which is MUCH more aromatic and very tasty.

This is a nice pepper mill and salt shaker set, pretty enough to put on the table, but also very functional, and not just decorative. The pepper mill grinds pepper to a fine, even consistency. It will hold about 3 heaped tablespoons of black pepper, but you don't want to put more than 1 in the pepper mill at a time. Keep the remainder in an air-tight container at room temperature until ready to use.

You can measure the amount of pepper you dispense (20 cranks of the handle equals half a teaspoon), or just sprinkle it directly on top of whatever. The matching salt shaker does not have grinding parts (which would have been nice for crushing rock salt), but works fine with kosher table salt.

Marvelous product, near nonstick

I believe my rating is too low based on the fact that I bought the wrong product for my needs.I was hoping to get a griddle and warming pan, and I got that.

I also got stainless steel which will take months to season before our food doesn't stick.That's how I discovered that a non-stick surface, which this product doesn't have, is the most important feature to me since I need an all-around griddle.I would recommend this product be used less as a griddle (for sticky foods) and more for brunch and as a warming pan/buffet server.
