Tupperware Season-Serve Marinating Container
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Kitchen
list price: $16.49

Editorial Review

Ideal for thoroughly marinating meat, fish, and vegetables, this container ensures a marinade envelopes food and flips over forredistributing the marinade. Two features make this possible. First, the blue seal locks onto the base and prevents leaks when the containeris turned over. Second, seal and base have grids of raised pyramidshapes in their bottoms, allowing a marinade to reach the underside offood. Because the seal is virtually airtight, the container can also beused for storing food and keeping it fresh or for transporting picnicfare. It measures 12-1/2 inches long, 10-1/2 inches wide, and 4-1/2inches high. Virtually unbreakable and dishwasher-safe, Tupperwarecarries a lifetime warranty against chipping, cracking, breaking, andpeeling. --Fred Brack ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great piece of tupperware...but for marinades?I dont know
I bought this when I got tired of marinating in plates, bowls and mismatched plastic ware.I liked it.Tupperware is a great product, lasts forever (If you dont believe me, look at all the wintage tupperware on auction sites) washes well and over time will eventually become cost effective.

Having said all that...sometime after buying and using it, happily...I found that marinating meats (this doesnt work as well with chicken on the bone) is much easier and space saving if i put my meat and marinade in a ziploc...get all the air out and seal it.It takes up much less room in the fridge and requires alot less turning because when you remove the air the marinade surrounds the meat (depending on the thickness) more effectively.

I would say this is a good tupperware product if you need something of this size for multiple uses..and can justify using it many times for many things.I wouldnt buy it just for use to marinade or just for storage.I think if i had to buy it again..I would want to be able to say that I could use it several times a week for storing (baked good, maybe deli, snacks) marinading, transporting items...etc. I think that is the only way this would make a *solid* purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Double Duty
You can use this item for marinating flank steak or chicken, etc. Or you can store cut up vegetables or basically anything in the refrigerator. We marinate the flank steak in Italian Dressing. Then, you just flip it over in the container half way into the marinating process.

The lid is nice and high and while you could not marinate a 7-lb chicken, you could marinate the pieces.

Right now, there are over 20 homemade muffins stored happily on the counter in this container.

So many uses!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Marinaders Dream!
I own two of these and would recommend them to anyone who is serious about marinading. The insides of the double lids have raised 'knobs' allowing for the marinade to fully coat the food.Another great feature is that you just turn the container over to marinade on the opposite side. When done grilling, it also serves as a great container to keep food warm, serve from and even to store leftovers in the fridge. Two thumbs up! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Love these!
I'm not a big fan of single use products for the kitchen usually but I have to say that I do love these. When I first bought these (I have 2) I thought they were expensive until I remembered how much I paid for cereal...It didnt seem nearly so outrageous to pay what these cost when cereal is in excess of $4 a box.It actually makes sense to me.

Having gotten sick of throwing out ceareal that was all but limp, especially in the humid summer, because you cant seal it up...or your kids wont seal it up...I'm a happy camper now with this. And I now don't have the avalance of kids cereals falling on me when i open the cabinets...This is easy for them to close back up.Unlike the boxes, which they could never seem to manage.

If I don't happen to have any cereal in the house I have also used these for things like rice, macaroni, popcorn...anthing small and pourable with a ripping container.

I've had mine for many years with no problems.Still happy I made the purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Holds up through years of use
I have three children and my cereal storers have received daily use for over 10 years now. They still function air-tight and we never have stale cereal. Highly recommended investment for those that live in humid climates.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kitty Food
We keep our cat's dry food in these containers. It is easier than wrestling with the 20lb bag for each feeding.

In the past, we used them for cereal, but for some reason, we eat up the cereal too fast once we open the box. When we did keep the cereal in these containers it lasted much longer and didn't go stale!

Tupperware Ice Cream Scoop

Kitchen

Editorial Review

Hold this ice cream scoop under hot running water for a fewseconds and its zinc core heats up. The scoop smoothly glides throughhard ice cream and other frozen confections. Even if a confection isfrozen like a rock, the extra-heavy head won't bend. For maximumleverage, the handle is hefty and has a thumb rest on one flat side anda rest for the forefinger on the other. Because the head is curved likea professional scoop's, running it through the surface of a frozentreat creates perfectly round ice cream balls. One of Tupperware'shandy food-preparation tools, the 9-inch scoop is dishwasher-safe andcarries a 90-day guarantee against defects.--Fred Brack ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars No more straining to scoop ice cream
Yes, it's a little pricey but a great investment. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because you can't just toss it in the dishwasher. It's great and doesn't strain your wrist when your trying to scoop. It basically melts the ice cream while you are scooping it.Just make sure you rinse it off after using it to avoid it pitting the metal. This is worth the money!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the best out there....
Yes, the Tupperware scoop lives up to most of it's claims. But I want to share with you that there is a better scoop out there. The Tupperware scoop is very heavy and requires you to run it under hot water first. The Pampered Chef has a scoop very similar to this that uses the heat from your hand and is immediately ready to slice right through even the most frozen of icecreams. No, I'm not a consultant, just a happy customer. One word of warning for both of these products: don't leave the scoop in the box, even for a minute, it will melt all the way to the bottom.(I say this from experience)

5-0 out of 5 stars dream scoop...
This sturdy, strong scoop is simply great. The handle is wide enough and long enough to grip easily and the scoop is generous but not too large for smaller, one pint ice-cream containers--as spade scoops often are. This scoop is easy to use--just press it into the ice-cream and run it through the surface. It seems to do the work for you, lifting up a curl of ice-cream as you scoop.

I have a minor hand injury and usually prefer Oxo products, but this scoop is just fine and easy to use. ... Read more

Tupperware 2-Cup Quick Shake Container
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Kitchen
list price: $9.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

Editorial Review

This shaker/container makes an electric blender unnecessarywhen the urge for a smoothie, milkshake, or instant pudding arises, asalad needs dressing, or eggs need scrambling. Just pour ingredientsinto the container, insert the blending wheel with its star-shapedcenter, snap on the domed seal, grip, and shake. Because the seal isvirtually leak-proof, no mess results. The Tupperware seal is alsovirtually airtight, so you can store leftovers in the refrigerator andthey'll remain fresh. Made of rugged plastic, the container holds 16ounces and is calibrated in both ounces/cups and milliliters on clearstrips, which run down the container's sides so you can monitorblending progress. Otherwise, the container comes in Tupperware'sclassic Sheer Ice color. The seal is dark blue and contains a pouringspout. The container stands 8 inches high and is tapered to fit thehand snugly. 1-0 out of 5 stars I was ripped off and I think knowingly
The tupperware was useless because the top was too small for the bottom. I am left to think that this seller is running a scam.I wish someone had told me before I threw 25 dollars down the drain.

2-0 out of 5 stars The lid is way too tight
my main problem with this cup is the lid is absurdly difficult to get on. I was amazed at how much trouble I had considering this is a name brand cup. I suspected the problem could be me, so I handed it off to a male to see if he would have equal trouble as well - and he did.
The cap on top of the lid takes so long to coax into place that the only way I've deemed this cup usable is to just leave it closed all the time. Other than that the cup seems to be fine. The markings (c, oz, and ml) are clear and readable. It is also easy to clean (if using protein powder it is probably best to rinse it out right away), though I cannot say how it fares in a dishwasher. If you do not want a cup that is a hassle to put together and you are just making simple shakes, you will probably want to look elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars I pour, measure, shake, and drink all in one!!
I pour, measure, shake, and drink all in one!!

I have two of these. One is always in the dishwasher and the other is always ready to go. They are wonderful to use for protein or diet shakes. Although the plastic lid is not quite as sturdy as the older models they still do a great job.
The new feature on these models is the measurement markings. That is a big plus over the vintage models. These work and perform very well and are great for Protein Shakes. ... Read more

The best of the best for kitchen organization. cabinets will maintain clean. NO more mess or bugs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mr. Skeptical
My wife is a consultant for the product. I would not beleive her about tupperware products and quality until I actually started using them myself. We have potato chips that have been in a modular mate for a few months months. The other day we had some company over and we served the chips, they were as crisp as the day they were opened. We keep brown sugar in modular mates and it stays soft and moist for months. I thought that tupperware was nothing different than the rubbermaid, boy was I wrong. Shows what I know...

5-0 out of 5 stars Tupperware is just Dreamy
Earl Tupper wanted to enable homemakers to keep food fresh and appealing in a dry environment of the new gas and electric refrigerators flooding the postwar market. He created plastic products featuring a virtually airtight seal suited to protect food from this new drier environment. And as they say, the rest is history.

Firstly, let it go on record that I have had a long standing love affair with Tupperware since I was a very young child and happily remember tossing all my mother's Tupperware bowls about the kitchen.

Tupperware is mainly used for dry food storage in my kitchen and the green lid color is pleasing and fits into many color schemes.

The durability of this product is incredible. While the lids on the containers used to be more flexible, it does seem they become easier to remove and replace over time (a matter of a few months to a year of use).

These are the types of containers you want to store brown sugar in. They are almost airtight. Everything you store in them keeps much longer.

Don't worry about breaking a nail trying to open one of these containers! There is a lovely little tab on one edge. They also don't seem to mind being tossed in the dishwasher now and then.

So much Tupperware, so little time. ... Read more
