    Editorial Review

Perfect for cookouts, tailgate parties, or car camping, Weber's Smokey Joe Gold grill is the classic traveling grill. With its 14-1/2-inch-diameter grate, the Smokey Joe Gold easily cooks three steaks at a time or twice as many burgers. The porcelain-enameled bowl and lid resist rust and deliver even heat. When it's down, the lid lock doubles as a lid holder, letting you slide the lip out of the way while you cook. And, when the feast is done, simply fasten the lid lock over the top handle, pick up, and go. As an added bonus, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for "Cooking on the Road"
    The Beautiful Pacific Northwest
This is the perfect charcoal grill for taking on a trip.We recently took an RV trip with friends throughout Oregon/Idaho/Washington.This little grill was perfect for an end of the day BBQ of steaks, chicken, or ribs. The close up and lock handle is perfect for packing it back in the RV.The side and top vents are designed for keeping the coals going and the lack of bottom vents is a PLUS because the ashes stay in the grill, not in your RV storage compartment.

This one exceeded my expectations and allowed us to cook in the outdoors. Thanks Weber!

5-0 out of 5 stars 1978 sloppy joe
In '78 or'79 I bought a Weber "sloppy joe" coal burning barbeque.
It costed over $40.00 back then. It is similar to you "smoking joe" but no clamping handle on top

It's still a favorite of mine, but the name is worn off the handle, and some enamel is missing.

    Love that old barbeque.

5-0 out of 5 stars I replaced a no name brand with this one!
When I first moved into my apartment with a small balcony I wanted a little bar-b-que.I went to a large store and bought a brand X never-heard-of-it-before bar-b-que.The silver finish disappeared before the coals finished burning off the starter fluid.

I took it back and got this Weber.I LOVE it.It cooks great.Steaks for two, burgers for four, chicken drumsticks for up to six (depending on how hungry you are).

It seems to cook pretty evenly, without hotspots other than right in the center of the grill, and if you are only cooking one piece of meat, the center is fine.

I have to agree that it would be nice if there was an ash dump, but here's a thought--your BBQ is small--WAIT UNTIL IT COOLS, take out the grill, hold the grill over your dumpster, turn the grill upside down. All done!

    *****Final Thoughts*****
This is a great grill, and it cooks well, but don't plan on feeding the 5,000 because its just a little guy.Despite negative reviews regarding convection, this grill cooks very well, and evenly.I have to agree on the ash emptying level, but I think it's easy to deal with. ... Read more

    Vacu Vin Winemaster Corkscrew, Black

    Editorial Review

It's another wonder of modern technology from the folks at Vacu Vin: this corkscrew stands head and shoulders above any similar model. The tiny foil cutter stores in the top of the machine--just pop it out, squeeze gently over the top of the foil, and the foil falls right off. Next, insert the cork into the bottom of the Winemaster, with all four handles in the upright position. The corkscrew inserts itself when you pull the two smaller handles down, and you lift the cork by pulling the two larger handles. The last step: just raise all four handles again to pull out the cork--no yanking or twisting necessary! For the occasional extra-long cork, you may need to perform the steps twice--but it's still far easier than other corkscrews. You'll want to open wine just as an excuse to show off this cool gadget. Tell guests they only get to play if they bring their own bottle! --Jill Lightner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The one for your best!
Easily outdoes all other corkscrews I've owned (lots). After at least 100 bottles, it's never let me down!It always works 100% perfectly.I was initially wary to use it on my special bottles, but after using it flawlessly on so many bottles, I confidently say it's the only one I trust for my "best of cellar wines."
Although the foil cutter works perfectly, two of four small tips have broken off while releasing corks (not to what I would consider rough use) so it won't stay on top of the corkscrew anymore, but that is a minor issue compared to the benefit of this corkscrew.Recommend leaving the foil cutter off during uncorking and releasing the extracted cork.
I have not used it on any synthetic, plastic, or wax covered corks so can't comment on that.I'm concerned it would gum the corkscrew up.I'll never buy a different brand or type of corkscrew again.Well worth the money!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Wine Opener Available!
    *****
This is by far the best wine opener I have ever used.It is beautiful, a work of art, just to start with--therefore it can be left out and does make a great conversation piece. (I have the "clear" WineMaster.)

It works wonderfully, from the attached foil cutter, to the heavy duty parts--everything does what it is supposed to.First, you lock the opener onto the bottle. This took me a few tries to understand, but now that I understand the concept it is a piece of cake to do (I'm not great with mechanical things). Then you manipulate the levers (raise/lower the long ones and the short ones each once) and very easily not only does the cork come right out, but it is easily released from the opener so that you can save it if you want to, and it is not damaged.

It is well worth the price. It also would make a great gift for someone special.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely the best and most innovative!
Believe me, this is the best and most innovative corkscrew I've ever come across (and I've tried many)! Removing a corkscrew from a wine bottle is extremely easy! There's no twisting, no turning and no pulling! You don't have to fight a wine bottle to get the cork out! What's more: The operation will really amaze your friends! It's really a jaw-dropper!

    Using the WineMaster...
You just position the WineMaster on top of a wine bottle with the levers up. Then you pull down the small levers. Finally, you pull down on the large levers to pull out the cork! Now, the appropiate words to describe this operation is: Effortless! Easy! It is so easy that 10 year-old children will be able to use this corkscrew successfully on the first try!

What's the WineMaster's trick? The WineMaster's gears twist the metal corkscrew into the cork as you pull down the levers. You don't have to do it! Another plus: The corkscrew has a special coating to make the insertion effortless!

My only regret is this one: I should have bought the clear WineMaster! With the clear model, you can see the gears working! Ha! That's only a minor regret. The truth is: I am extremely happy with my Black Vacu Vin WineMaster!

Problems? I don't believe you will have any problems with the WineMaster. However, if you ever need parts or assistance, you should contact Vacu Vin at www.vacuvin.nl in The Netherlands. ... Read more

Waechtersbach Classic Christmas Tree Earthenware Two-Tiered Tray
    Kitchen
    list price: $49.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Shortbread, gingerbread, and rum balls are a definite highlight of any holiday gathering. With this festive tray, seasonal treats can be eye-catching as well as delicious. Waechtersbach has made fine earthenware products for about 166 years, and their classic approach is reflected in the tray's simple design. It features a bold Christmas tree motif in bright primary colors that are festive without being loud. The top tray is about 8 inches in diameter, and the bottom measures about 10 inches. The dishes can go in the microwave and dishwasher without a problem, but the whole assembly is quite fragile, so store it carefully. Although it's fairly easy to assemble, there aren't any instructions, so you might want to allow a few minutes before your guests arrive. --Laura Cuthbert ... Read more
