Great addition to the "Everyday Stainless" set
I bought the Cuisinart Everyday stainless (without the nonstick coating) for the bulk of my cookware pieces. But, when it comes to doing eggs and omelets, the non-stick is a true benefit. That's where this pair of pans really shine. They seem to take a tiny bit longer to come up to temperature than those without the coating, but you still need to keep the heat lower than with other cookware. My first use of the little 8" pan resulted in a *very* deep brown grilled cheese sandwich for my son's lunch. Now I know to keep it LOW -- about "3" on my electric GE range. The non-stick finish is very good, doesn't scratch easily like my old T-Fal omelet pans (I would never recommend those to anyone) and cleans up in a trice.

Guess it will have to be the non-stick round griddle for my next purchase -- I need something a bit larger to do pancakes. :)

Possibly the best!
As the designated "Apple Pie" girl at family parties I know the sticky annoyance of chopping 5 lbs of apples!Most apple corers/peelers either leave some of the core still in the apple, and slice them into tiny bits!This cored is nice and sharp and easily cores the entire apple.No need to go back and pick out the missed core.It's also nice because it doesn't slice for you.Those things look nice but if you want an apple pie instead of an apple sause pie...go with this one!Hoffiritz makes exceptionally good products!Get thier bow peeler to go with this!They are a must have!

a great little gadget
This tool is great. You MUST use plastic wrap to avoid a mess! This gadget got pork loin cutlets so thin and beautiful that rolling them around a stuffing was a pleasure not a chore! And if anyone know a hunter, it makes venison steaks fantastic! It is small so it stores nicely and fits well into the dishwasher. It is well weighted so it feels good in your hand when using it. It is easy to control, unlike the big, bulky mallet types. Give it a try, for the price, you can't beat it!

A nice piece of tool.
Well I followed advise from the other reviewers and covered the meat with plastic wraps so that there's no mess at all and result is great.I'd like it better if they rotate the handle by 90 degrees so that the flat side rest in my hand.

Not for lefties
The right-handed folks in my family like this little gadget and manage to get nice, fluffy Parmesan out of it, but my daughter and I are left-handed and find it very awkward to turn the crank.I wish you could screw it together both ways for lefties and righties.Also, I think it would be much more durable and work better when the cheese block gets small if it was made of metal parts instead of plastic.

A big dissapointment
If you're of Italian heritage and you grate a lot of cheese, don't waste your time with this one.When the quantity of cheese in the grater gets low, it tends to be very difficult to turn.It also didn't last as long as I expected.Try a different one instead.

Most Used Attachment
This is the attachment I use more than any other on my kitchenaid. In fact, I leave this attached. Every part of this is made with quality steel and the item is surprizingly heavy for its size. It never has a problem opening ANY can, even ones with dented rims, or those somewhat rectangular with pull tabs that broke off instead of opening, and the magnet holds the lid when you remove the can. It takes about 5 seconds to open any can and is easy to clean with a damp paper towel without removing it from the mixer though it comes off easier than any other attachment I have. It stands out much farther than I expected (about 4 inches) from the machine, but I suppose that this is so the can won't come near the bowl or shield. It makes using the cover difficult to put on and even more difficult to remove, so I gave up on the cover. I haven't found a better can opener either manual or electric. I highly reccomend this.

My husband just thought we had to have this. It's attaches in a second and works better than any can opener we've had in our 37 years of marriage.The price here was the best anywhere. Trust me I am a professional shopper so my husband claims!

Watch out for shipping times
I ordered the product from the amazon web pages which states that it USUALLY ships in 24 hrs.I learned the next day that it would not ship for 2-3 WEEKS from WHOLESALERSCLUB. I had a gift card from AMAZON so OK FINE I'll wait.I decided to check the amazon site again expecting the change in shipping times.What do I see, it is still posted as a 24 hr ship time!!!

A good investment
I bought this pasta roller recently, I am very satified with my purchase.So far, I have used it with recipes from both Lidia Bastianich and Marcella Hazan, both with excellent results.None of these required a lot of dusting with flour as some have reported.Even with mixing pasta dough by hand, this makes pasta making very easy.Clean up is very easy since there is very little residue from non-sticky pasta dough.I also own a Simac extrusion machine that gets very little use since it is always a big production to make pasta with it.The KitchenAid will get a lot more use long term.

If you enjoy pasta, it's a crime to not own this
I was given a gift-card for Christmas, and, not knowing what to get, I took a chance and bought this. WOW. That's really all I can say. I've used it a half-dozen times now, and each time this beauty cranks out the best pasta I've ever had in my life. No more needing to drown the pasta in sauce to mask that dried taste--the KitchenAid attachment lets the pasta speak for itself.

The set comes with a roller, for making long thin sheets of pasta, and two cutters: fettucine and spaghetti. After rolling the sheets, you cut them, boil them, toss with sauce, and serve. Quite easy. I've seen some comments complaining about the cleaning, but it never takes me more than five minutes to clean the roller and the cutter together. These are sturdy and well-made--just picking them up, you can tell that they are built to last.

One tip for the people who complained about air pockets and tears in the sheets--you need to dust the pasta sheets with A LOT of flour as you are rolling them out--I dust both sides with flour on every other pass through the machine--sometimes more. That should resolve the issue of bubbles and tears.

Honestly, anyone who loves pasta and who has a mixer needs to get this. Once you try the amazing pasta this produces you will really wonder how you managed to survive on store-bought dried stuff for so many years. The one drawback is that you'll start to turn up your nose when you go to eat at a friend's house and they announce that they're serving pasta! ... Read more

The instructions say:
Do NOT use non-stick cookie sheets or parchment.
Make sure the cookie sheets are cold.

It was hard to find cookie sheets that were not non-stick on Amazon.I finally went with the WearEver line.This cookie pressis plastic and light metal (Swiss made in China).I hope, after ordering the 'non' non-stick sheets, it works.Will update with a more positive review (I hope).Till then, the best I can do is 3 Stars.

Elegant cookies fast!
I got this press to replace my old Pampered Chef one in time for holiday baking and am so glad that I did!I just finished my second batch of spritz cookies in record time.I've used four of the 20 plates so far and only had two incomplete cookies, both of which were the first press after a refill using a very intricate plate.The cookies are small and dainty-looking, but are not fragile (a problem I had with the larger cookies made by my old press).The only problem I have with this one is that the plunger is concave instead of flat, which makes the last cookie come out as a blob.Of course, there is no shortage of volunteers in my house to dispose of the "extra" dough, so it's a problem I can live with.I haven't used it as a decorator yet, but plan to in the near future.I am very glad to see that the decorator adapter takes standard tips, so I can easily use the ones I already have in addition to the ones that came with it.All in all, a great product for a great price.

Update: I used the press to fill thumbprint cookies with icing and was very pleased.The press gave me a great level of control and was easier to use than other decorators I've tried.

The zester is fine but a $10.24 shipping charge on a $15.99 item is ridiculous.The only reason I bought this item was that I had a gift certificate that had to be used.Such shipping charges are outrageous!!

What did I do with out this grater
I use this for everything.If a recipe calls for minced garlic or ginger, I grate it.I have even sprayed it with pam and shaved crayons with it for a school project.I will never be without this again EVER

No kitchen should be without one
I love, love, love this little gem of a tool. I have had mine for over 5 years and have had no problem with it getting dull even though I use it almost daily. (Perhaps this is because, like any good cutting implement, I never wash it in the dishwasher.)

In addition to using it for hard cheeses, and zesting lemons and limes one of our favorite uses for the microplane is grating nutmeg. It does a top notch job with nutmeg! I consider the Microplane one of my three favorite kitchen gadgets and have made it my mission to make sure other members of my family and close friends have one in their kitchens.

Recently, I found that you can purchase an accessory item, a housing that holds the item being grated that you can slide up and down the blade. I think this would be useful for those who are nervous around sharp objects. I personally find these devices cumbersome and would rather wear one of those kevlar gloves for protection while grating if I were concerned about injury.

Let's face it, in general, grating on any grater is a perilous procedure. I can't count the number of times I have grated myself while using a standard box grater or other handheld grater. Having said this, it is my opinion that the Microplane is as safe to use as any other grater, definitely not inherently more hazardous and in my experience less hazardous.

To sum up, any aspiring gourmet and anyone who appreciates a quality tool that can make tedious chores easier should get the Microplane. ... Read more

OK product, but not what is shown
The actual cooling rack is very different from the picture shown. As others have noted, it doesn't have rubber feet. Of course, when you get down to it a cooling rack is a cooling rack, and this one certainly looks built to last.

Great Cooling Rack!
I like this cooling rack because it's very sturdy.I also like the grid design instead of just the single wires across, because, as other reviewers have noted, cookies and other things won't fall through.I've been looking for a good grid rack for a while, and I've seen similar ones for at least twice the price.As for those people who commented that they didn't get the protective feet, I just called Nordic Ware (you can check out their website) and a very nice woman said she would mail me some replacements.I am sure I will get a great deal of use out of this cooling rack, especially when I make my candies at Christmas.

User-friendly kitchen gadget
I agree with the first reviewer that the OXO is a cleverly designed measuring cup! The stylish figure caught my eye at the store.Checking its form, I was very attracted to the ability to read the measure from above.With a special needs child in the family, on a restricted diet, we measure every single meal and beverage.It's so wonderful to no longer have to bend over, check the measure, pour a little liquid out, pour some more back in, etc., etc.


Sure, Pyrex cups are classic. I also own them. But their weight and bulk deter me from using them daily.Another reason I don't reach for them is that I'm plagued with weak wrists and chronic nerve pain. The OXO is not comparable to Pyrex. But if we are rating this nifty OXO cup for what it WAS INVENTED FOR (to measure liquids quickly and easily), I adore it. It gets used in our kitchen at least once per day.It's well balanced.The handle feels good in my grasp. More durable and user-friendly than others in this price range. To its credit, the OXO has done just fine with the hottest tap water and it has survived a few drops to the floor. Well worth the price I paid for it. In my opinion, this is a useful, every-day kitchen gadget for the busy non-gourmet. Definitely worth owning. Lastly, I'd like to second the notion that if OXO made a heat-safe glass version that weighed less than Pyrex, I'd buy it.OXO, my wrists thank you for focusing on ergonomic design!Keep up the good work.

SHOULD HAVE BEEN, NEEDS TO BE, GLASS

This measuring cup was a great idea, except for its plastic construction. Plastic gives it several major drawbacks:

a.) You cannot put hot liquids into it.

b.) You cannot put it into a microwave (a little known fact: NEVER put any plastic container into a microwave, as plastic outgasses when heated and contaminates the food).

c.) It is too lightweight, top-heavy when filled and waaaay too easily knocked over.

We've gone back to our old Pyrex measuring cup. This one went into the garage sale pile.

OXO, build it out of glass, and we're there.

Great idea, but sloppily manufactured
The markings along the side don't even match those seen from above.Not that this matters, because both are inaccurate.To the point that it can ruin a recipe for baked goods.

Incredibly handy gadget!
Great for securely closing chip and snack bags, cereal bags inside the box, holding notes or kid's art on the fridge, a cookbook bookmark.Try them at the office: Clip an important memo and stick it to your filing cabinet (or other metal surface).Kids like them for their study space.I own more of these than I'd like to admit.Skip the cheapies and buy the OXO's.They last!

Until I got these as a bridal shower gift, I shopped at the dollar store for jumbo packages of clothespins, but those of us who are in the know, know that clothespins fall apart if you just look at them.
I use them for anything that needs to be clipped in the fridge, freezer, cupboard or bathroom, and in a pinch (oops, pardon the pun) my sister used them to section my hair when she was coloring it, I kid you not!
If I give something away that requires a clip, it get a clothespin. These guys aren't leaving the house.
As far as the magnet problem, if you can, store them on the side of the fridge rather than the front.

Best for eggs, but not very sturdy.
This product is wonderful for scrambled eggs and other light and soft items. Trying to use it to lift and flip heavier items is a challenge because the material of the spatula is so thin and flexible. For grilled sandwiches I have to use one of my sturdy plastic spatulas or else spill the contents of my sandwich. If this is going to be your only spatula, I would recommend looking at something else. If you intend it to round out your kitchen utensil collection, then it is great!

Eggs only!
I bought this specifically for eggs and it does a wonderful job.You have to be careful when using it in a non-stick pan since I think it would possibly scratch it.Clean immediately with a brillo pad.I think it would work well to get under anything lightweight like cake but it will bend so it does have limited uses but I knew that when I bought it.

AVOID
The metal in the flat part of the spatula is way too thin. If not careful you will end up with a crease in yours.

The worst thing though, is the metal is the exact opposite of non-stick. Just about everything sticks to it, and it makes cleaning them very hard. I have had to clean them by hand, and 1 of the ones I bought I can't get the crap that stuck on it off.

OXO vs Zyliss Susi Deluxe
These two garlic presses seem to be the most popular on Amazon right now, and since I've used both, here's my two cents.

OXO: this is a much easier press to use, requiring far less hand strength.It's also the easiest to clean (just flip it backwards and the red plastic head cleans itself).Mine has done just fine in the dishwasher top rack.However, it can't handle unpeeled cloves, and does have a tendency to break at the hinge every 2 years or so (I used it almost every night).It also leaves slightly more unused garlic residue inside.

Zyliss Susi Deluxe: I bought this after breaking my third OXO.It requires substantially more hand strength to use.It can press unpeeled cloves, but you have to squeeze quite hard to do this.It is slightly harder to clean than the OXO (use an included attachment), but still much easier than other garlic presses.This one leaves practically no unused garlic residue inside.I've only had it 4 months, so I can't comment on durability yet.

Overall, I'd get the OXO if you have arthritis or if your hands aren't strong, or if ease of use and cleaning are very important to you; just plan on replacing it every couple of years if you use garlic every night.I'd get the Zyliss if you have strong hands and don't want to peel the garlic cloves, or if the breakage rate (or leaving behind a tiny quantity of garlic) bothers you.I'll probably stick with the Zyliss, but I'd buy my mom the OXO (and replacements).

waste of money
the hinges broke after I pressed to crush the garlic. To the trash it goes. Now I use a small food processor to crush my garlic its easier and can crush a lot at one time.

Don't waste your money
Rubber handle grips will first accumulate water and later they will start comming off. It's so annoying that you will have to throw them away. At the end the hindge will brake and you will regret that you have spent your dollars on it. ... Read more

Save yourself the money and just buy a good knife!
Plain and simple - this tool does NOT work.At all.

It is supposed to mince the herbs when rolled over them on a cutting board.In reality, what it does is smash and juice the herbs into a pulpy mess.It does not work on parsley, chives, oregano, nothing.I tried several herbs, and it did not cut a single stem of any of them.It didn't even "kinda work" or work a little - it did not function one bit.

My second complaint is how lightweight and flimsy the tool is.For the money, I was expecting something a bit nicer.The tool is actually very light; the blades are thin and cheap. Thehandle is hollow; the entire thing bends easily.

Do not waste the money on this.It flat out does not work.
