Editorial Review

Worry no more about how to elegantly serve and transport your cheesecakes and tortes. With the Kaiser La Forme Table you can bake, store, transport, and serve your favorite cake all in one convenient pan. Commercial-weight stainless steel ensures even heat distribution and efficient cooking. The pan bottom, with a cut-resistant nonstick coating and a 1-inch shallow edge, doubles as an attractive serving tray. The high-quality acrylic cover fits snugly on the base so foods stay fresh and secure.

A two-layer nonstick coating on the inside and the outside of the pan makes flouring the pan unnecessary, though you should butter or oil the pans for optimal food release and browning. The nonstick surface does require a bit more care in use and cleaning: choose wooden, rubber, plastic, or nylon utensils, and hand wash using liquid soap and a soft sponge.

Springform pans rarely fit together as seamlessly as you'd hope, but this pan has one of the tightest fits available. Another surprising benefit: the buckle is designed for left- or right-handed bakers. Known for high-quality, reliable, and easy-to-use products, Kaiser scores another hit with this handy set. --Emily Wolf ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars for years of baking enjoyment
This is a superb product, and the only springform that I have ever bought that lasted this long. I bake a lot, and I have had this for more than five years now - never leaked or deformed. This is a heavy-duty product and the cake carrier is extremely useful as well. A minor complaint is the fact that the plastic dome of the cake carrier does eventually crack, especially if not cleaned very carefully. It would be great if that were available as a replacement accessory. The spring mechanism to put the carrier in place is great and fool-proof and has never let me down in years!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it love it love it!
high quality, super durable.only complaint is that handle is very hard to put on and take off.takes a bit of work.

4-0 out of 5 stars Improvements
Having used German spring forms for more than half a century I would not hesitate to purchase this model. The buckle on mine has never given trouble provided it is cleansed after each baking. The fit of the spring side to the bottom on this stainless steel model should be far more reliable than on my unit which is made of aluminum which is apt to be deformed allowing minor leaks of batter. I would recommend that a plastic insert be included with this product so that the stainless steel base can be protected from being scored when the cake or tart is cut prior to serving. The plastic would be placed between the base and the baked product after it has cooled. Another enhancement that the manufacturer could add would be a cone that could be attached to the base so as to convert the form of the cake from cylindrical to BUNDT form. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Off to a potluck, party, school event, or picnic and assigned to bring a hot dish? Slow cook stew, pot roast, sweet-and-sour chicken, or countless other dishes (33 recipes included) while doing other things. Snap the plastic cover on the cooking pot, strap the cooker into the insulated tote, and zip it up, then grab the Velcro-closure handles and head off, knowing your food will stay warm for two hours. Or take the power base along (it also fits in the tote) and rewarm later. At meal time, use the glass casserole cover as a serving dish. Like the cooking pot, the power base is nonstick, and it doubles as a griddle. The cooking pot and glass cover are safe on the stovetop and in the oven. The glass and plastic covers and the pot are dishwasher-safe. That's a lot of convenience packed into a package measuring only 14-1/2 by 9-1/2 by 8 inches. --Fred Brack ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars lid isn't a good fit
I really like this crockpot for many of the same reasons other reviewers have listed - small size, extras, easy to clean, versatile, etc.My main problem with this crockpot is that the lid no longer fits snugly so steam escapes instead of dripping back into the pan.I have since fixed the problem with some foil but, since the heavy glass cover couldn't have warped, I'm going to guess it was the somewhat thin pan.If you are going to use your crockpot often, I would suggest a more substantial model.

5-0 out of 5 stars Couldn't be any better...
We bought this for my Mother-In-Law for Mother's Day because she had a West BendSlow Cooker just like this one for a long time (I think she said 15-20 years) & somehow she managed to break the knob off.Although the knob had broken off she continued to use it because she just could part with it.Since it was so old & she broke the knob off she asked her husband to get her one last year for Christmas & he couldn't find anything even similiar in the stores.Since we are constantly buying stuff online she asked us to keep an eye out for one during the next year & if we could find one to keep it for her as a Christmas gift for this year. She was so excited when we gave this to her for Mother's Day.The insulated tote & the lid just made it all the more better for her.She loves how it so easy to clean & carry with her now.I think if we hadn't found this for her she'd still be using the one with the broken knob 20 years from now.She just loves it that much.We enjoy it too because she makes us BBQ Ribs for us all the time.:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Why didn't I get one sooner?
I thought slow-cookers were a thing of the past, boy was I wrong. They go perfectly with today's hectic lifestyle.
I picked the West Bend after checking out the ratings here on Amazon and have not been disappointed!I love the oblong shape, perfect for roasts, meatloaf and even desserts. The heating element/griddle is seperate which makes the pan easier to clean. Also I can use the pan directly on the stove to do my browning and easily transfer to the base and that's it, no extra mess. The glass cover can double as a serving dish.
My only negative was how thin/light the pan seemed but I am overlooking it because all the recipes I prepared turned out just fine. Not to mention, I like the little "extras" like the plastic cover and insulating tote which I am looking forward to using when we go barbecue.
Just get this with a couple of the slow-cooker cookbooks and your friends and family will love you. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The original slow cooker, the Crock-Pot was first introduced by Rival in the 1970s and has proved to be much more than a fad. This convenient appliance helps you prepare delicious family-style meals while you’re working, running errands, hiking, or just relaxing around the house.

The 6-quart, oval-shaped Crock-Pot measures 18 by 9 inches and is large enough to cook marinated lamb chops, chili, beef stew, or even a pot roast for five to six people. The easy-to-use programmable timer turns on and off with the push of a button and lets you choose among time settings of 4, 6, 8, and 10 hours. When cooking time is complete, the Crock-Pot automatically shifts into warming mode, which keeps food at the right eating temperature but doesn’t overcook it.

Plastic handles provide a secure and comfortable grip for transporting the cooker. The Crock-Pot’s internal liner is made of durable stoneware that is attractive enough to go from cooker to tabletop to serve your meal. The liner also has a stick-resistant coating and is dishwasher-safe to make clean-up easy. The glass lid lets you peek at your food while it cooks and is also dishwasher safe. Rival offers a limited 1-year warranty on this stoneware slow cooker. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Too big and heavy!!!
Well, it does cook very well and it looks nice, but all our 4-6 serving recipes only fill the bottom 2 inches (unless it is a roast) which makes me think it is just much bigger than necessary. And the weight of it, it is SOOO heavy and it makes my arms and back sore when I clean it in the sink b/c it is too big for the dishwasher and it takes me a long time to scrub residue out of it.I wish I'd gotten the Westbend Alumnimum Slow-cooker b/c it is lightweight and much more multi-functional.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pot Luck
I bought this crock pot as a Christmas gift for my wife. She wanted the timer feature so the meals would be warm, but not too hot when we get home from work. Unfortunately, everything we have cooked burns in this crock pot including macaroni & cheese, chili, roast, etc. Tonight, the chili burned and we ordered out for pizza while trying to ignore the charred smell in the house. The crock pot was about 2/3 full, so it was not a small dish. Looking over the other reviews here I suspect the cooking temperature varies significantly from unit to unit. There is no way we could leave anything cooking for 8 hours (as some claim to have done successfully) without burning it. You're gambling with this one. I would choose a more reliable model.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nuclear hot even on "Low" setting
Last night I made pork chops that were supposed to cook on low for 8-9 hours. After 4 hours they were way overdone.
You would expect a crockpot to simmer, this one full on boils. Even on the warm setting.
I have had this problem conisitantly since I purchased the product 2 months ago. I am an experienced cook and thought I was just having problems adjusting to a new product. But after having done some internet research last night I see this is a very common problem with these crockpots.
I called Rival today and the customer service agent refused to admit there was a problem or to do anything about it.
On top of rediculously overheating, you have very limited options in the times you can pick. So if you wanted to set something on low for 4 hours then have it turn to warm, not possible. I'll be looking for one with a real timer.
Rival may have invented the Crockpot but I'll be buying a different brand from now on. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The next best thing since the microwave!
Just got mine and I have been using it for a couple of weeks.I wanted to give it a good test before writing this review.

I have used mine to carry hot tea to work at 8AM, by 5PM the tea is still hot, this far exceeded what I was demanding for in this type of bottle.I have also used it to carry cold beverages like fruit juices and it does keep them cold for several hours.

One observation: the instructions point out that the bottle might be "damaged" if you clean it in a dishwasher, I thought: "how can this be when it is designed to hold liquids at over 100 degrees F?" so I gave it a try and no problems! The only thing that I hand-wash is the rubber gasket from the main lid and a small plastic cover that fits on top.

I highly recommend it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Greater than it looks
I a bought this for work to carry coffee. At the end of the day coworkers complain it's too hot to drink. [the donut shop] has ruined my tongue so it's perfect for me.

Just remember it's bigger than it may appear. I holds 1.69 quarts, or 9, 6oz mugs, or 3.5, 15oz mugs just a tad above a personal thermos.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific for many purposes
I, being one person, am often unable to consume an entire pot of coffee. This thermos, however, allows me to brew a full pot of coffee *AND KEEP IT ON MY DESK FOR TWO DAYS* -- it remains steaming hot. Furthermore, I have found that after the coffee is no longer hot, it goes well with kahlua, ice, and cream. -grin-

The thermos itself is larger than the picture really lets on. It's big-ish, about a third the size of the briefcase I carry to work. It does come with a shoulder strap however, and i can comfortably carry it under my arm with the briefcase on the same shoulder.

I haven't tried using it for soup or the other things the manufacturer suggests. It is simply fabulous for coffee however. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Weber's Q hybrid gas grill has a uniquely funky design that allows it to serve equally well as a compact portable grill or as a full featured backyard grill at home. Its generous 280 square-inch porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grate offers plenty of grilling acreage for a pile of burgers, strip steaks, hot-dogs or a fish nearly as big as the one that got away. The lid offers a 7-inch tall capacity and can cover foods as big around as a whole chicken. At the same time, the Q folds up to only 31-1/2 inches for easy carrying, and the Q's glass reinforced nylon frame helps keep it lightweight without sacrificing strength or durability. It has two durable fold out side wings with built in tool holders to serve as work tables, and the lid on the handle is heat resistant, and large enough to offer an easy grip even when you're wearing a grilling mitt. There's an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high quality regulator to allow for complete control of cooking temperatures, a push-button ignition for easy reliable lighting, and the Q is fueled by a standard 14.1 ounce propane cylinder (not included). The lid and body are made of durable cast aluminum, and have built in drip ducts to channel away juices and drippings, which then collect on an easy to reach and easy to clean lower tray. --Brian Trinen ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great backup grill.
This is the right grill to have as the backup to the full size Weber kettle grill when it's raining or (where I live) snowing. It is easy to assemble and easy to clean. It folds up so you can tuck it away on a garage shelf.

This is not a great primary grill because it just doesn't get all that hot.It generates 12,000 BTUs or about as much heat as the big burner on your kitchen range. By comparison, the Weber kettle grill, packed with hardwood charcoal can generate 120,000 BTUs, or as much heat as you can get out of a flaming gallon of unleaded.

The Q is ideal for hamburgers or fish, and when it's raining outside.

5-0 out of 5 stars weber Q
Love it!Beautifully styled.Took me about 3 minutes to put it together. Cooks evenly.I also bought the rolling cart. which is completely assembled. Looks and works good on my patio or on my tailgait. Can't wait to use it more. Easy to transport.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice grill!
My burner finally gave out in my Sunbeam grill that I have had for about 8 years.I couldn't find a replacement burner and after thinking it over, I decided to look for another grill.I am by no means a grilling expert!

My wife, 4-year old daughter, and I are starting to get into camping, and I also tailgate almost every weekend in the fall with my parents and a bunch of friends. So, a good-size portable grill is something that I was definitely looking into.

I first looked at the Thermos Grill to Go.I saw some people tailgaiting with it last year, and they seemed to like it.It looked very nice and seemed to be easy to take with you wherever.I really have nothing negative to say about the Grill to Go because I have never personally used one; however, as many others on here have mentioned, it is a griddle. After looking at all of the recommendations on here for the Weber Q, I decided to get one.I definitely like the open flame of the Q!

I usually do not purchase large items on Amazon, so I went to Home Depot last night and bought the Q and the cart.It was the same price as buying on here except of course I had to pay tax.I don't mind that so much because I didn't have to wait a couple of weeks before it was shipped. Also, I didn't have to worry about handles, etc. being broken during transit.

I put the cart and Q together last night - if you could call it that!It wasn't hard and didn't take long to assemble (about 10 minutes)! The cart is very sturdy, and it folds back up just as easily as it is to make it upright!Like many others, I highly reccommmend the cart because it makes the Q like a regular grill. The Q fits nicely and easily into the cart.It is also easy to transport the Q while on the cart whether the cart is upright or folded.

Assembly for the Q itself was no big deal either. All of my handles, etc. were fine right out of the box.Everything was stored inside the Q.The shelves folded out, and I had to lift the grate up to get to the handles and hinges to the lid and the control knob.It comes with 2 drip pans (which should last for a long time) that fit in a tray that slides under the grill. You only need a phillips head screwdriver to screw the handles to the lid.

I have not purchased the 14.1 ounce propane bottles and may not unless I decide to take those camping instead of my 20# tank.I can easily fit the bigger tank in my SUV while going camping and not sure if I should spend extra for the smaller bottles.Instead of spending over $20 for the Weber 4' hose attachment, I got a similar one at Wal Mart for $14 that worked great!

I used the Q the first time tonight by grilling boneless chicken breasts on it.This was the best chicken that I have ever done!It was juicy and tasty even without BBQ sauce on it!My wife and daughter really enjoyed it also.

After use, I used our Scunci Steamer to clean the inside of the grill and the grate. It didn't take long at all.

All in all, I am very happy with the Q and plan to use it a whole lot more than I was using the Sunbeam.I cannot wait to take it camping and tailgating! ... Read more

Great for commuters, office professionals, and one-coffee-drinker households, this personal coffeemaker brews 15 ounces of coffee directly into a stainless-steel travel mug. The mug has a rubber handle for a safe grip and a lid to keep coffee hot. It's tapered to a 2-1/2-inch-diameter bottom, so it fits most vehicle cup holders. The coffeemaker itself is designed for an on-the-go coffee drinker. It has a permanent filter--no messy disposable paper filters required--and shuts off automatically after brewing. The mug, filter, filter basket, and mug lid are dishwasher-safe, and the coffeemaker can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, it measures 9-3/4 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, andcarries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars dorm room
I got this maker for my dorm room and it is excellent! It makes a great cup of coffee and does it quickly. I have had no major problems with it. It is, however, kind of annoying to clean the grounds out of the reusable filter so now I'm using all the paper filters (size 2 is a little big but they fit fine) I have left from my last maker, but when I run out I'm not buying anymore becuase it is cheaper to use the plastic filter and it tastes the same. I do find that it does not make very good hot water if you just need hot water because the water gets some of the coffee taste, but the water works and tastes fine in things like cup-a-noodles.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disgusting rubber taste
The travel mug with the unit tastes like tires, even after repeated washings.I love the way the coffee maker works, but can't drink the coffee out of the provided mug. What a waste!

5-0 out of 5 stars Still going strong.....
I have not written a product review before, but I had to add my experience with this one!I received this coffee maker a week before Christmas as a gift.I have used it everyday since then, even on the weekends.I am a single mom so a whole pot of coffee in the morning is a waste for me.I brew this cup around 7:45 am and I am still drinking it, nice and warm, at my desk at 9 am (I'm a slow coffee drinker).I brew straight into the cup, add my milk, pop the lid on and go!I always unplug the unit and lift the lid over the filter/reservoir as I leave for work.I have not had one problem with the system in the five months of daily use.And if it were to malfunction at this point...it is very worth it to me to replace it with the exact same one!It is a great product for a great price. ... Perfect for potlucks and picnics, this set makes it possible to transport and serve baked ziti or apple crisp. First, cook your dish in the set's 7-by-11-inch glass baker. Then, when it's hot from the oven, cover it with the snap-on plastic lid. The covered baker then goes into the set's blue insulated carry bag, along with utensils and napkins. Two carrying straps on the bag ensure that the baker stays level. Heat the included hot pack in a microwave oven and slip it into a pocket in the bag's top to keep the food hot until serving time. You can also substitute a frozen cold pack for the hot pack so you can transport fruit salad or any chilled food. The baker is made of Pyrex, a special glass that withstands the shock of going from hot to cold, or vice versa, without breaking. It's nonreactive (useful for acidic marinades) as well as stain- and odor-proof, and comes with a two-year warranty against breakage from oven heat. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps Food Hot Between Point A&B
I read a lot of complaints about the hot packs, but I've never had any problems- probably because I've never actually heated mine.

I live in Alaska and during the winter bringing anything hot anywhere is a problem. I love this product because I stick all of the hot packs in the pouch at room temperature for extra insulation. I time it so the food is done right before I am ready to leave and take it out of the oven and put it directly into the carrier. I stick the lid on, zip the carrier up and I'm ready to go. I make it to potlucks with steaming hot food and everyone is impressed and asks where I got my carrier.

I love it, no complaints!

Editorial Review

If you entertain outdoors all summer long, the Weber Chill makes sure you’ve got plenty of cold drinks on hand for all your guests. This portable refrigerator is manufactured by the same company that makes the dependable Weber grills and has developed a following that is just as loyal. The cooler requires no ice; instead, it rolls out to a deck or patio and plugs into any outdoor outlet to begin chilling and has a built-in thermostat for complete control of the cooling temperature. Constructed of durable powder-coated steel, this cooler is well insulated to provide low emissions for a refrigerator of its power and size, and has a barrel-shaped design that keeps cold air from escaping as quickly when the lid is lifted from the top. Additionally, the refrigerator has a see-through plastic lid that lets guests see the assortment of available drinks before they open the lid. A huge capacity of 1.6 cubic feet holds 72 12-ounce cans of soda, 48 bottles of beer, or 36 wine bottles so you won’t have to keep refilling the cooler all afternoon and evening. Two wire baskets and/or a wine caddy for the Weber Chill can be purchased separately to stack drinks within the cooler more efficiently. Two circular mahogany side tables resting on aluminum rails extrude from the sides of the Weber Chill and serve as additional bar space for pouring and mixing drinks. This portable refrigerator has a vinyl interior that easily wipes clean and measures 40 inches tall with a 21-1/2-inch diameter. It is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Chillin' & Grillin' !!!
GOTTA LOVE IT!This gorgeous puppy matches my blue Weber grill, and looks fantastic on the deck. Got the 2 wire baskets and wine caddy as well. Price makes it a little on the expensive side, but I know it will be worth it to never schlepp ice into a backyard cooler again. As soon as my new pool house is finished, this goes right next to the bar.Counting on the Weber reliability that I have experienced with their grills.

5-0 out of 5 stars Weber Chill: Great For Outdoors
We really love the Weber Chill and have not had any guest to our home who hasn't asked where we got it and even how much it cost!We ordered the silver and would recommend to anyone ordering to get the two wire baskets (extra cost) to go with it.This allows you to stack many 12 oz. cans of soft drinks/beer, etc. Also would recommend keeping cooler out of harsh sunlight and turning up when stocked completely full.We entertain outdoors all summer and have used the cooler every day.Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for parties!
Keeps the beer cold!I could stop there but I'll continue! Had party 2 weeks ago and moved the chill out on the patio so people wouldn't have to be going in and out the door every 5 minutes.Worked out great!

I keep all my can pop (soda) and beer in it so I have more room in my fridge.Everyone who has seen the chill loves it and 2 of them have even bought one for their home. ... Read more

Tupperware CrystalWave Lunch 'N Dish with Cold Cup

Editorial Review

This rugged, three-compartment plastic dish transports lunch to school or office under Tupperware's legendary seal--virtually leakproof and airtight--and then goes into a microwave so lunch can be reheated. A cold cup for fruit, salad, or dessert can be removed from the dish before microwaving the rest of the lunch or left at home so all three compartments can be filled with heatable food. A valve in the seal lifts to vent steam in the microwave, while the seal remains tight to prevent splattering. The seal has a large tab to make lifting easy. A circle of tiny feet on the dish's bottom ensures air circulation for quick, uniform heating or chilling of the dish's contents. The dish measures 7-1/2 inches in diameter and 2-1/2 inches high. Its handles stay cool in the microwave. Virtually unbreakable and dishwasher-safe, Tupperware carries a lifetime warranty against chipping, cracking, breaking, and peeling. --Fred Brack ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great for lunches
This is a perfect size for lunches. The cold cup concept is definitely an innovation, because in the past, you had to keep a separate container for your cold items.

Now, you just pop up the vent on the lid, and nuke the container, provided you remove the cold cup if you're using it.

However, it works equally well without the cup, if you want three hot courses for your meal.

The only minus is that you don't want to put very liquidy items in this container, unless you are keeping it level while you're travelling. The lid does not seal each individual compartment, nor would it, to get full advantage from the Tupperware venting system.

5-0 out of 5 stars Much better than the low cost versions..
After many years of buying the cheap versions of separated lunch plates...and having the contents spill all over, not to mention having to take a cold item separate.I splurged on this.

What can I say?Its great. It costs more than the cheap copy-cats but I know that I wont find my lunch all over the bag when i go to eat...I dont have to take an extra container for a salad or dessert...And I know I will have it for years.

Tupperware has a great warentee and washes really well. This is a great single use product. It does exactly what it says it will...Things rarely do :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Smart Lunch Dish
This lunch dish is smart. If you need to keep something cold in the same dish that you want to take something that will need to be reheated, it's okay. No need to get out an extra container to keep the cold item separate. Just put it in the cup that's inside the dish. Then when it's time to microwave, you can remove the cup and heat the food that needs to be heated. It's great if you want to take a salad and vegetables for lunch. You can heat the vegetables without heating the salad. What a great idea! That keeps you from carrying extra containers with you to to work or school. This is also the perfect size for lunch. It's not too big, and not too small. Taking lunch in this dish allows you to have a variety of lunches. Using this will save you money because you will not have to eat out as often. And you won't have to take a sandwich everyday either. You can have a variety. I usually cook a little extra for dinner and save the leftovers to take for lunch. This dish helps with that! :) ...
