OK product, but not what is shown
The actual cooling rack is very different from the picture shown. As others have noted, it doesn't have rubber feet. Of course, when you get down to it a cooling rack is a cooling rack, and this one certainly looks built to last.

Great Cooling Rack!
I like this cooling rack because it's very sturdy.I also like the grid design instead of just the single wires across, because, as other reviewers have noted, cookies and other things won't fall through.I've been looking for a good grid rack for a while, and I've seen similar ones for at least twice the price.As for those people who commented that they didn't get the protective feet, I just called Nordic Ware (you can check out their website) and a very nice woman said she would mail me some replacements.I am sure I will get a great deal of use out of this cooling rack, especially when I make my candies at Christmas.

Still waiting...
I haven't actually received this item yet.I ordered it on February 27, 2003 and was told it would ship in 1-2 weeks.It is now April 28, 2003 and my revised ship date is the end of May.I just thought I would warn others who were maybe needing a cooling rack sooner rather than latter that this rack may not be the best option.

Plenty big.
Its great to have a big rack to fit lots of cookies.It also has the added advantage of small mesh so things do'nt fall through.

Cooling rack with no more crumbs
This is by far the best cooling rack that I have yet to find on the market.It's large size reduces the need to use multiple smaller racks that clutter countertops while baking and cupboards when in storage.The grid design prevents cookies and petit fours from "sinking" between the otherwise single-direction bars found on other standard racks and eliminates the chances for dropping a cookie through two bars.The grid also makes it easy to slide baked goods off the rack onto plates. ... Flat top!
This rack has flat wires instead of round, which makes it even better than most other racks for cooling cookies!Gives a more firm support and makes it easier to get a spatula underneath to move cookies around.The finish is nonstick and easy to clean, I've had no trouble sticking mine in the dishwasher.Highly recommend!!

A Must Have Cooling Rack!
This is an excellent cooling rack!Certainly a must have if you like to bake, especially cookies!The wires are a good size for cooling.They are flat rather than round, which I love, the flat surface gives more firm support to your cookies.The nonstick finish is very easy to clean.I have 2 and am considering ordering 2 more.It is also to nice to cool baked items on this rack with it is still in the pan, it allows the bottom to cool much better then if it was just sitting on your counter.Highly recommended!

One of the keys to fresh-tasting cookies is cooling them properly once they come out of the oven. Scooping them straight off the pan and onto wax paper doesn't help the bottoms cool; in fact, it can make them soggy by trapping heat and moisture. Use this extra-long stainless-steel cooling rack instead. It measures 16-1/2 by 11-1/2 inches, so it can hold a whole batch of your world-famous chocolate-chip cookies, and the base is raised 3/4 of an inch to allow for plenty of air to circulate. This item may NOT be stainless.
At the time I looked for this item, Amazon was out of stock. I therefore purchased the AMCO item of the identical description from EverythingHome. HOWEVER, the racks were strongly magnetic, suggesting that they were chrome plated steel, NOT stainless. I talked with EverythingHome, and they confirmed this.

Use of chrome plated steel with hot food (e.g., to drain fried fish, etc.) is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE although it frequently is ued for e.g., cookies. Be sure that you have a guarantee that the item is, in fact, stainless before you purchase it!

DON'T BUY THIS RACK IF YOU WANT STAINLESS STEEL!
Unfortunately, I missed the reviewer who correctly stated that this is NOT A STAINLESS STEEL rack.

It is merely a plain, chrome-plated rack, like virtually any other rack.

It's bad enough that it came and wasn't as described, but the fact that the description hasn't been updated since last June (18 months) to help buyers avoid dissapointment is just poor service.

Best cooling racks I ever bought
Money wisely spent. I bought two of these substantial,sturdy racks and use them nearly every day to cool cookies, muffins, bread loaves, buns, cakes, waffles, pancakes, etc. The lines are close enough together thatcookies don't bend or fall through. These racks also work in the bottom of my large roasting pan, to keep meats off the bottom of the pan. no more scrubbing by hand and no more rusty cooling racks.
