Eight inches long, with a hole in one end of the bowl to let liquid flow out, this sturdy stainless-steel melon baller is great for cantaloupe, watermelon, even mashed potatoes. Essential for elegant fruit salads, a melon baller can help form a number of decorative foods: garnishes, shaped candies, or tiny scoops of ice cream for special desserts. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good, solid...decent product
A very nice size and a welcome change from the plastic throw away type melon ballers that I had been using. This is long enough to get down inside a watermelon without getting your sleeves sloppy.

18/8 stainless is good, 18/10 is better but this is solid enough for the task.It holds up and does not bend in the face of harder melons (cantelops, honeydews). With stainless steel you can put it in the freezer for a bit and scoop out beautiful little rounds of ice cream and sorbets for dessets.Or heat it under the tap to make it easier to scoop very hard ice cream.

I have used it to scoop out not only melons but, ice cream and frozen desserts (including granita which is a bit messy to wrangle), side dishes like potatos and rice and cookie dough.

I think the handle could have been more ergonomic but that is not to say it's bad, just that it could have been a bit better. It seems a solid piece of kitchen equiptment and appears that it will last for many years despite the one year replacement guarentee. ( I think it should be longer, this isnt a product that is used excessively).

Overall, I would give this a positive vote.It has a fairly good design and good contruction. It has multiple possible uses and could be stored easily. ... Read more

This is one spatula you won't find melted up against the side of the stove. Heat resistant to 500 degrees F, it's crafted from a sturdy silicone that won't scratch or scrape nonstick cooking surfaces. The 3-1/2-by-2-1/2-inch blade has a surface that's curved like a spoon for easy scooping and spreading, and the tip is flexible to let you get at the last drop of batter in the bowl. (Whatever you do, don't tell the kids you'll be using it; they might just go on strike.) The KitchenAid logo even doubles as a rest, so you can place the spatula up against the rim of a bowl without it sliding into the goo. --Mary Park ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Surprised...I thought it was a Ktchenaid
I've purchased a Kitchenaid blender and food processor this year and since then stocked my kitchen with KA utensils since i equate the Kitchenaid name with high quality. Unfortunately this item like so many other Chinese-made pieces where companies slap their name onto it doesnt stand up. I noticed it was staining where the silicon head met the plastic handle and then a few weeks later a tear developed and then it was gone. This item was 2 weeks old and didnt serve any more strenuous duty than mixing batter or stirring a sauce.I may try the French Made Le Creuset Spatulas next. Ive learned that regardless of the name check on the quality and where it is manufactured.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful and useful spatula!!!
This is a great, sturdy but flexible spatula. It is so versatile that you'll grab it first before any other!!I use it when browning ground beef in a skillet to removing cake batter from the mixer bowl! I can't say enough about this fantastic spatula. It is perfect!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Spatula!
I'm really grateful for this item.It is so much heavier and easier to use than other spatulas, plus it's study workmanship really holds up under heavy working conditions.Goes through the dishwasher like a breeze.Think I need a few more! ... Read more

This slotted spoon is as sturdy as they come. It's a whopping 13 inches long, the bowl is a full inch and a half deep, and the wide handle feels comfortable in the hand. Four large slots leave grease or cooking liquid behind, making this the tool of choice for scooping dumplings from a pot of broth or greens from their braising liquid. The silicone construction is highly heat resistant, so you can leave it propped up against a skillet without fear of unsightly melt marks, and it won't scratch or otherwise harm your beloved nonstick pans. THis spoon is beautiful & compliments all the other red KA stuff I own.I was surprised a bit by how large it was, and how heavy it was.But it really is high quality and performs well.I guess I'm used to the cheaper nylon cooking utensils I've owned.Overall, I'm glad I bought it, and it was worth the $$.It just seems a little bulky to store.Wish KA would come up with some kind of rack for these things to go on. ... Firing up the grill? The shorter, 8-inch length and slightly stiffer feel of this turner makes it the tool of choice for flipping smaller, heavier items like thick burgers. The 4-1/2-by-3-inch head has rounded corners and tapered edges, so it also slides easily underneath the biggest pancake or the heaviest grilled cheese. Because it's constructed from highly heat-resistant silicone, this turner won't melt if you leave it propped up against a skillet, and it won't scratch or otherwise harm your beloved nonstick pans. 1-0 out of 5 stars I'D GIVE IT NO STARS
What a mistake KitchenAid made when they designed this turner. The balance is very poor. If I'm not very careful the darn thing falls out of my small fry pan every morning unto the floor. It's too thick and can't get under food. I'm looking for a new turner.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't like it
I'm not happy with this turner. It isn't versitile and won't handle most of the food I would use it for.I chipped the edge the second week I had it, which renders it even less usable. My cheap stainless steel turner with a good edge that I got 30 years ago is a lot better.I am sorry I bought this one, and won't be ever buying another one.Wasted my money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poorly designed
Very disappointed Kitchenaid fan. This spatula is not only too large and poorly balanced, but also broke recently when dealt some routine cooking abuse. Snapped right at that pretty narrow neck. Futhermore, the plastic handles are not heatproof like the silcone, so if you leave it leaning on the pan or the stove, it will melt. What's the point? ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice .... but could be better.
After six years of use, my trusty Pampered Chef large mix 'n scraper was feeling lonely for companionship. On a whim, we decided to try the Le Creuset brand of spatulas ... mainly because it was available in green (to match my Kitchenaid mixer). This large and flexible spatula certainly does the trick, and I am sure the that the head will hold up quite well over time. The only disadvantage of this scraper over my old Pampered Chef is that you have to remove the wood handle for washing instead of being able to plop the dirty mess into the dishwasher. Maybe it is dishwasher safe .... I just don't want to test the theory. I am a little baffled by the removable wooden handle and hope that the wood holds up as well as I expect the head to. I am glad I tried two spatulas first before buying the entire crock of spatulas. Maybe someone will come along and enlighten me on the reasoning for the removable handle. Meanwhile, I am headed back to Pampered Chef for more of their heavy duty scrapers.Love Le Creuset cookware, but their scrapers are just not worth the cost.

2-0 out of 5 stars Loved it at first....
I have several of these spoons and spatulas. It's true, they withstand high heat just fine. The problem with them, and it's happened with EVERY ONE I have, is that they come off the handle much, much too easily. I've had them come off at the worst possible times and get lost in a pot of hot food. I have other similar spatula/spoons and it only happens to the Le Creuset's. These are far too [spendy] to have such a serious flaw.

5-0 out of 5 stars wonderful!
This spoon is flexible so it gets everything out of your pan but solid enough that it doesn't just flimsily bend and drop your food, it can withstand super high heat so it doesn't melt, it looks cool.... You won't know how you cooked without it! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Bandleader and inventor Fred Waring introduced the first blender in 1936, and this model pays tribute to that early version in its retro styling. A tall, old-fashioned-looking blender in chili red, it will crush ice and blend frozen fruit beautifully in a few seconds. This blender feels sturdy: the lid, with a cap that doubles as a 1-ounce measurer, fits securely, and the pitcher, made of thick, ridged glass, won't wobble. Many chefs prefer a blender rather than a food processor for soups and creamy sauces--the blades of a good blender whirl more quickly than those of a food processor and will refine a thin liquid such as cream of tomato soup to an incomparably silky texture. This blender is definitely up to that task. The fixed, self-cleaning stainless-steel blades on the base of the pitcher mean the lid is the only separate part to wash. --Maria Dolan ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Second to None
I've had this blender for over a year now, and wow! It's the best, period. It blends anything; no matter how frozen. It has also proven it self to be the most durable blender I've ever owned.I am a bodybuilder, so I use it to blend protein shakes 2-3 times a day.

Like people have said...it is very load. However, that's not an issue to me.Also, it's easier to clean rigth away.Simply fill with some water, add a drop of soap, blend, rise, and you're done.

3-0 out of 5 stars A top name in blenders, but has some flaws
With Waring on the product you know you're buying quality. This is a well built blender with a motor that feels like it could start your car.It is easy to clean and will crush/blend/pulverize anything you throw at it.
The downside, you cant see what you blending or how well mixed it is.The metal carafe is very durable, but I wish it had a pyrex or glass one instead.
The lack of more speed settings is also a bit irksome... but pulsing can obtain the same results.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too small
This is a handsome product and is undoubtedly a good blender, but it should be noted that it is considerably smaller than most blenders. It is described as having a 32 oz container, but it will only blend 24 oz, about half of a standard KitchenAid. A more accurate representation of its functional capacity would have kept me from mistakenly ordering it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Outstanding After 9 Years.
I purchased my KitchenAid KFP600 food processor 9 years ago, and I was recently surprised to find that KitchenAid still produces exactly the same model. I shouldn't have been surprised. This is an exceptional food processor. Mine is in great shape after nearly a decade of moderate use (a few times a week), and I see no reason why it shouldn't last a decade more.

The 11-cup work bowl is ideal when cooking for 2-6 people. The spring that holds the work bowl in place and the cover on works as well today as it did when the processor was new. Although KitchenAid says that you can put the work bowl and cover in the dishwasher, I don't recommend it. The hot water causes the plastic to expand, which can make it difficult to lock the lid onto the bowl. Not so difficult that it can't be done, but the lid squeaks quite a bit after it's gone through the dishwasher. I bought the KFP600 shortly after it debuted, and no one had seen a mini bowl before. It looked useful. I thought I'd use the mini bowl to chop small quantities of food, saving myself from having to wash the big work bowl every time. Now I wouldn't buy a food processor without a mini bowl. I use the mini bowl to chop onions and garlic. It's invaluable. Think you can't chop garlic in a food processor? You can in the mini bowl. I prefer the mini bowl for onions, as well, because there is no risk that half the onion will be mush before the other half is chopped. And the mini bowl and mini blade are easy to clean. You can put them in the dishwasher without any ill effect.

The power base of the KFP600 is fairly heavy and stays put when you run the processor. The motor on mine is as good as new. The "clean touch" off/on/pulse buttons don't protrude from the control pad, so they're easy to wipe off. The machine is generally easy to clean. There is a place to coil the cord underneath the power base. It's difficult to get the cord to coil properly, though, and would be frustrating if you had to do it often. I wrap the cord around the base, where it is out of the way and readily accessible.

In addition to the 11-cup work bowl and multipurpose blade, the mini bowl and mini blade, the cover and the feed tube pusher, the KFP600 comes with a few accessories: There is a dough blade, which I confess to never having used in 9 years. I use the regular blade to make dough, and it has done an excellent job. Also included are 3 slicing/shredding discs which are mounted in the processor with a disc stem. There is a medium slicing disc, a medium shredding disc (both 4 mm), and a reversible thin slicing/shredding disc. There is also an oddly shaped, useless spatula. The accessories are contained in a large plastic storage box, 7"h x 7 1/2"w x 10 1/2"d, that is clear on the top and sides. There is space to store the optional egg whip and the multipurpose blade, as well, but the box is unnecessarily large. The instruction book for the KitchenAid KFP600, which has English and Spanish sections, is conveniently spiral-bound, so it will lie flat. The instructions are straightforward and well-illustrated, and followed by 32 recipes.

I have chopped, sliced, shredded, grated, pureéd, liquified, and made pie dough with this food processor for 9 years. I can honestly say that it has never performed less than perfectly. And it's still going strong.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Food Processor is Second to None!!!
My Mother got me this food processor last year for my birthday and the machine has had barely any rest since.I have shredded, chopped, ground, diced, sliced and mixed just about anything you can imagine. From nuts to pesto, to onions and cake, breadcrumbs and hash browns.Everything comes out perfectly. And the attachments are great. With the large shredder disk I have shredded zucchini for lasagna, with the slicing disk I make perfect onion slices. And the small bowl is fantastic. When I need onion and garlic, I first make the garlic in the small bowl, then the onions in the large - that way I can prep everything without having to wash the bowl in between.

One thing, though:I wish the attachment case were smaller or a little more practical. It takes up so much room on my few square feet of counter space that I usually end up putting things on top of it, which of course makes it difficult to get to the accessories. But I can live with that.

I love how the items clean up - nothing gets stuck, no stains remain and - most importantly - no smells linger.

If I had to do it all over - I WOULD GET THIS MACHINE AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT - I LOVE IT!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best, simply the best Food processor you can buy
There is NOTHING about this food processor I do not like:
It is simple to set up, it works like a champion, it does every task asked of it with out a struggle and it cleans up easily.I have had two other food processors and this one is better by far in every way.The disks are sharper out of the box and hold the edge better; they are well designed for their given task and perform the tasks flawlessly.KitchenAid has a world of option available as well.Buy it YOU WILL LIKE IT

KitchenAid's Artisan stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 325 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solidly constructed and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing about 15 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball, this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off. --Betsy Danheim

The beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise; moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. This unique mixing action creates a thorough blend of ingredients and eliminates the need to rotate the bowl.

    Multiple Speeds

10 speeds allow the user to select the right speed for the mixing job; from very high to very slow stir. It's easy to select the precise speed needed for a perfect mix.

    Versatile Accessories

The flat beater, dough hook, and the professional wire whip add to the versatility of the mixer. The flat beater is the ideal accessory for mixing normal to heavy batters. From cake mixes to firm cookie dough, the flat beater mixes quickly and thoroughly.

The dough hook mixes and kneads yeast dough, saving both time and the effort of hand-kneading. The wire whip incorporates the maximum amount of air in whipped mixtures for fluffier whipped cream and angel food cakes.

All attachments are solidly constructed, and attach easily to the stand mixer.

    Easy Clean Up

The pouring shield fits around the top of the bowl and prevents ingredient splash-out. The chute makes it convenient and easy to add ingredients.

The tilt-back mixer head allows for easy access to bowl and beaters. A lock lever holds the mixer head securely in place and the bowl fastens tightly to the base.

    Optional Attachments

Optional attachments (sold separately) complete the package to make cooking a pleasure. From citrus juicer to sausage stuffer, KitchenAid stand mixers can handle just about any job in the kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy one for your significant other!!!
I bought one as an X-mas gift for an ex-girlfriend that I have a rocky friendship with and now she cooks up good stuff for me all the time!It makes hanging out with her a lot more enjoyable, and she freaked out about the color and it gave her an excuse to deocrate her whole kitchen pink and white. If you gave one of these to your current ladyfriend I bet that you would reap the benefits multiple times a day for a very long time.

It was a very very high quality product and I will look to the KitchenAid brand first whenever I have to buy kitchenwares/appliances in the future.Great color selections, great quality, very good power.

    Would highly recommend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great essential for the baker in your life....you!
I love the mixer's power, capacity and ease of use. It makes even garlic mashed potatoes heavenly. I selected a black model to match my Viking kitchens without realizing the color would need more frequent cleaning. If you use this mixer every day buy a cover or another color to save time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I got this mixer about a month ago. I've wanted one for years, but always talked myself out of it (too expensive, too big, etc.) After finding a great deal here on Amazon, I finally caved in and let me say, I'm glad I did. I love this mixer! I was worried I wouldn't use it very much, since I already have a very nice bread machine (a "Zo"). I find that I'm using it all the time though. It really is like having an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. Cookie dough is so much easier. I'm also making bread with it constantly. It's just so simple to throw the ingredients in the mixer and let it do all the kneading. I've been making fresh bread and bagels every week and it's been no hassle. It handles the dough very well and stays put. It's a big heavy machine. The only problem I was having with it was I was finding it very difficult to remove the bowl to clean it after I was done mixing something. My husband suggested rubbing some vaseline on the bottom edge and that has solved the problem completely. Now I can pop the bowl off with one hand. Anyway, if you've been wanting one of these and if you like to bake at all, do youself a favor and get one. You will be amazed at how much easier it will make your life. I only wish I'd gotten one years ago! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Le Creuset is famous for coating its heavy, cast-iron cookware with not just one, but two--count 'em, two--layers of enamel baked on at 1,450 degrees F, resulting in gloriously bright colors. This bright-red, heart-shaped casserole adds a note of whimsy to dishes, but its 2-quart capacity, handles, and heavy-duty construction make it practical as well. Both its interior and exterior are enameled--as are the bottoms of all Le Creuset pots and pans--to prevent scratching glass-topped stoves. The enamel surface will not react with any acidic foods and is easy to clean. The weight and nature of cast iron make for even heat distribution. This cookware gives you all the benefits of cast iron without the painstaking care. --Schuyler Ingle ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 101 Year Warranty says it all!
Not only are Le Creuset products beautiful, they are well designed and extremely durable. How many companies offer a 101 year warranty on cookware???? Le Creuset is the only one I know of to offer such a warranty, which in my opinion demonstrates the quality you receive when purchasing their items.

As for this particular design, it has to be my favorite, whether for special occassions or everyday use. I get so many compliments about my unique cookware.

Trust me, you'll be delighted if you purchase the Heart Casserole!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Be My Valentine with Whimsy, Beauty, and Function!
I have collected all of Le Creuset's fruit and vegetable shaped cast iron enameled casseroles. In my 40+ years of cooking these casseroles are at the top of my list for beauty and functionality. They are beautiful to display on a table or on a kitchen counter and very practical in cooking delightful casseroles, soups, stews and other wonderful dishes. The color that they can add to a kitchen brightens every vist there. The exterior and interior enamel coating is very durable and easy to clean. I have cooked a multitude of dishes in these casseroles and have found them to be excellent in heat conduction and preventing "hot spots". The wider and lower shaped casseroles are a little better in spreading the heat.

The warranty against defects of 101 years will certainly last beyond my expected needs but it is nice to know that I have the protection since these are not inexpensive purchases.

The comments of guests served from these casseroles is always positive and never fails to bring a smile to my face.

There is a drawback to these whimsical cookers and that is the rim of both the top and bottom of the casseroles. There is no enamel on these rims and they can rust if not dried immediately after hand washing. They are dishwasher safe but I do recommend that you hand wash and dry immediately. I also recommend that you let them sit out for an hour or so to air dry before storing them.

When wet this casserole can be very slippery and the handles on the bottom and top help in preventing dropping them. Be really careful!

Finally, closely inspect your casserole when it arrives. My first garlic casserole had a two inch crack in the enamel. I did not have to contact Le Crueset since Amazon.com immediately sent a replacement to me and had the defective item picked up at my home at no charge. I commend them for standing behind the products they sell.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift for others and yourself.....
I bought this little casserole for my daughter, and I liked it so much I bought one for me.The size is small enough for a casserole for a two-person household like mine, or a rice or bread pudding. Used for storage of leftovers--it is perfect.Besides, it's pretty.Great gift for yourself or others.

The only downside is that cast iron pans with enamel coverings are at risk for chipping. My pot came with little rubber separators that suspand the lid above the pot.My daughter asked me if she should take them off when she baked, and I said yes, but save them because they will protect the sides of your pot.

Another thing I like is that the pot came packed in biodegradable peanuts.Don't know if it was the French manufacturer or the shipping source, but keep up the good work. All shippers should take a hint. There is no need to use the old plastic peanuts. If the corn starch peanuts work with a heavy pan, they will work with anything. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Spatula
We have half a dozen Le Creuset spatulas in various sizes and shapes, and we love them all. They withstand extreme heat and don't stain. We have cooked with them frequently for several years and they still look brand new.BTW the spatula head pulls off for cleaning separately in the dishwasher, without ruining the wooden handle.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fair to middlin'
The head of this spatula is okay, but the handle is made of wood.I would have preferred something that didn't adsorb water, although plastic may have been too flexible or may not have been as heat-resistant as the head.

4-0 out of 5 stars Might Mite
What a handy little tool! These are just the right size and flexibility for scraping the sides of my bread machine pan (West Bend "Just for Dinner" size. Also handy for jars, especially the narrow ones that most spatulas just won't fit. I'm so glad I bought a couple of these. I only wish I had bought a half a dozen. The price is right, too.
My one problem is with the handles. The wood became rather rough after only one pass through the dishwasher. I rubbed oil into the wood and it seemed to help. I'll use them for awhile and if they prove dishwasher safe (and they should be in this day and age) I'll buy some more. I just hope they don't disappear first. ... Read more

This wine tool kit is one of the most thoughtful gifts you could bestow on a friend with a passion for wine. First and foremost, the kit packs a Houdini corkscrew, a lever-style tool that removes a cork in 3 seconds with a push and a pull on its comfortable curved handle. Another rapid push and pull on the handle ejects the cork from the corkscrew. This high-quality cork-pulling device has durable, all-metal gears that have held up to 20,000 cork pulls in tests by an independent laboratory. The Houdini also works on any size wine bottle so need be the only opener in your drawer.

The kit also includes a foil cutter in a patented "bottle-cap" design, which removes the foil cap from your bottle with a simple squeeze and twist; a drip-stop ring, which prevents drips from running down the bottle and staining your tablecloth or clothing; and a wine/champagne sealer, which provides an airtight cap on unfinished bottles to preserve them for a later date. These three tools are all easy to grip and fit wine bottles of all sizes. The kit’s final components include a wax whacker for removing wax seals from wine bottles and a spare corkscrew for emergencies. Metrokane packages the entire set in an attractive gift box and covers the Houdini corkscrew under a five-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Looks, Great Function.
After reading some of the other comments about the Houdini kit I must have received the best of the best because I have opened at least 50 bottles of wine with mine and it still works like the day it arrived.I am still on the first cork screw (they are replaceable) and it works like a champ.

Some of the other items that accompany the corkscrew are less than ideal but for function, this is the way to go & at a very decent price on the Friday Sales.

3-0 out of 5 stars Spend the extra $10 and get the Rabbit
We use our Houdini, and thought it was pretty swell, until we visited a friend who owned the Metrokane Rabbit corkscrew.
The Houdini works well for us, but the handles are a bit jiggly, and after a year of use, feels like each bottle may be the last one the Houdini opensbefore it breaks. The Rabbit seems much sturdier. If the Houdini is the Cadillac of corkscrews, then the Rabbit is the Hummer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed - all the stars in the review....
I used this product one and only time within - four hours of its arrival - to grind cardamom seeds. The chamber was filled of half of its capacity.
The grind was uneven (more than 60% not ground), coarse and the grinder started smelling and smoking. The stainless steel chamber was hot to touch and on the fifth hour I requested to return it. Definitely not worth the price and hype.

I have had $10 worth grinder last for 10 years after each day of use for various spices.

I am still looking for a good product

2-0 out of 5 stars Mess Maker
My wife must have nearly one of every red Kitchen Aid products. All function will and are built to last. But the only one to make a bigger mess on my counter is the stand mixer when it has too much flour and is run on high. I grind 1/4c. beans and it escapes either during the grind if I don't have the lid fully pressed or when I release the lid. This beauty is built to last and does look good on the counter. My last Starbucks grinder failed because of a frayed cord(from wrappping around the cylinder). The Kitchen Aid grinder has a high quality cord like my Porter Cable tools. Unfortunately it will last forever. Messy, messy, messy.

Sleek and stylish looking on the counter next to stainless steel or black appliances.Extremely easy to clean.Just 2 large parts to rinse after use, they disassemble quickly.Contrary to some reveiws, it does NOT make a mess, so long as you do not fill it to the brim.Strong motor for its size and grinds the beans quickly and evenly.Nice size, 9"H x 4"W.Almost the size of a half gallon milk container. ... This single-slot digital toaster from KitchenAid not onlytoasts most widths of bread to perfection but also warms pastries, getsbagels just right, and handles frozen items intelligently. A simpleuser-friendly display governs all these functions, with a dial forbrowning preference and three buttons for the "warm," "frozen," and"bagel" options. The "warm" function heats without toasting, while the"frozen" function gently thaws, then toasts. The "bagel" functiontoasts the cut side 100 percent and the crust 50 percent. Each functionincludes an indicator light, and the digital display shows the selectedbrowning level. If you toast several servings in a row, KitchenAid'sEven Heat system adjusts cooking time to ensure consistent results.

    Editorial Review

Make quick work of chopping garlic cloves with KitchenAid'sgarlic press--you'll wonder why you ever bothered with those jars ofprechopped garlic. Simply insert a clove or two into the well, flip thehandles together, and press down firmly--out through the holes comesyour freshly chopped garlic. Cleanup's a breeze since nothing sticks tothe polished stainless steel, and the handy brush quickly pushes outany garlic still stuck in the holes. You won't want to lose this littlebrush, so for storage, simply clip the brush to the press mechanism andfold the press closed. --Maile Rehbock ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Design flaws disappoint
I bought this garlic press because of the Kitchenaid name and because I got tired of processing so many cloves of garlic with just a chef's knife. When we got it, my husband (who shares cooking duty) was delighted at how it felt in his hands and at how much time it saved him.I was disappointed with the size - a little too large for my average-size female hands. Design flaw #1.I rallied and continued to use it (with both hands) for about a year and a half.Yesterday, the handle cracked and broke off.The metal portion of the press does not extend down the handle. Design flaw #2.I was pressing one small clove so I'm sure the break was not due to misuse.I'm going to follow the America's Test Kitchen recommendation and get a Zyliss next time.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best garlic press!
After years of using garlic presses that just don't seem to measure up, I decided to spend a little extra money and get the KitchenAid press. This was money well spent! It's the best press I've ever owned and for once I feel like I am really getting the most out of my garlic! And it's easy to clean too. It's a little heavier than most, but that's okay with me - it does the job it's supposed to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great!!
This is a very nice, well made and sturdy item. Not too heavy in weight.Load a couple of garlic cloves and push the handle - out comes minced garlic every time!!It has a great little brush that is used to clean the holes and stores inside the handle for easy access.Great design!!I love mine. You'll love yours, too. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars A Real Disappointment

I, like others, bought this brush on the reputation of the KitchenAid name. It is the only KitchenAid item I've ever bought that I was disappointed with. It is truly not worthy of the KitchenAid name. A very flimsy brush that disappoints from the first use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Melted
My yellow Kitchenaid baster brush bristles melted the first time I used it.I was so chagrined and inexperienced with cooking that I thought I did something wrong, so I was afraid to send it in for a replacement.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good brushes!
Unlike some of the other reviewers, my Kitchenaid brushes have not melted. I have used them for basting turkey, pie crusts, bbq and pretty much anything else I can think of to baste. The brushes do stain though, if you use them with a dark sauce and do not clean them or submerge them in water right away. I have not experienced any bristles falling out either. My brushes have lasted over 6 months of fairly heavy usage with no major setbacks- I am very pleased. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Well made
I bought this so when I chop small items I can pick them up in one fell swoop. It does just that.I find it a handy gadget to have around.I haven't used it for the purpose for which it was made, dough, but I'm sure it would do just fine.It appears well made and I am not sorry I bought it. ...
