Editorial Review
With a larger than average surface area and powerful heat transfer system, Delonghis Magnum radiator quickly and quietly fills an entire room with heat. Its automatic timer control has 96 different settings, and includes a room monitoring thermostat, so you can set the unit to your desired temperature and know that youll stay warm. Horizontal thermal slots keep the heat circulating. High efficiency diathermic oil is permanently sealed and never needs refilling. The Magnums clean, Euro design is compact and safe, with no sharp edges, and a double insulated exterior. Its movable, too: four corner wheels, and a handle that stays cool while the unit is operating, let you easily position the Magnum anywhere you need the heat. Additional safety features include thermal cut off to shut off the radiator once the desired temperature is reached, and anti-frost protection to keep the unit heated to at least 35 degrees F. The unit comes with a one-year warranty for parts and labor. --Chris deMaagd ... Read more

Definitely a "hot" item
Overall, after a winter of hard use, I am extremely pleased with this item. The integral timer is the killer feature on this heater, warms a cold bedroom adequately and doesn't burn the excessive electric since we don't have to remember to turn it on or off each night and day.
Excellent!We bought 2!
We have in the basement a craft room where I do my arts and crafts - its about 16x20 and a workshop where my husband does his crafts. We brought one of these for each room and they're perfect! They completely take the chill off in about 15-20 minutes and keep the rooms warm. They have a timer you can set so you don't leave them on and forget about them. They're self contained so there's no fire hazard that I can see.I absolutely love them!Very happy customer, toasty warm in the craft room.
good warmth if used right
I'm hesitant to give this 5 stars because it's the first oil-filled radiator I've ever owned. Found it at another online vendor.
I live in a small mobile home of only 700 sq. ft. floor area in total (yep, very small place!) and this radiator is intended to either supplement my vent-free propane heater or be used in the work shed.
As I write this, the outside temperature is approaching the freezing point, expected to be mid-twenties by morning. So tonight is 'test the new heater night' with no other heating to help it along.
Using a digital multitester with temperature probe attached I measured the Magnum 15T (my guess is the 15E is same basically, only electronic timing) from various places around and on it, while set to full power and thermostat dial on 5 (goes from antifreeze to 6). Top was 150 F (66 C), underneath was 120 F (45 C). Approximately 1 ft (or 30 cm) above the top surface it was 130 F (55 C), and down inside between the fins touching the surface again it was 200 F (94 C).
Indoor tabletop thermometer just 3 feet away from the radiator reads about 69 F and my regular central heating digital thermostat (again, switched off for tonight) is showing 67 F, which is in the back bedroom. Radiator itself is placed in the living room, where I'm using a reversed ceiling fan that I added an adjustable rotary control wall switch making it slower than originally was able to do.
The radiator seems to stay on for 3 1/2 minutes and then off 1 1/4 minutes, or powered 65% of the time (if my math is right). At this rate the temperature drop of the radiator amounts to very little, and of course the room temperature doesn't change.
I should note that having read the review about the loud noises problem I am hearing the thermostat quite plainly click or pop each time it cycles on/off. Not sure how common this is, since it's my first ever but it is certainly neither loud nor quiet. Maybe not the same thing I'm hearing. Although it does deter from the pleasant, otherwise silent, heating it provides; my vent-free LP heater is not silent either and it's only flames and expanding/contracting metal! But it'll also pop on and off, too.
Wasn't possible to send in this review right away so I've had some more time using the radiator since then. I moved it into the bedroom for the night and left the door open, no other heating sources used, and it got pretty cold at 6 a.m. so I turned on the central heating. Was 62 F everywhere except the bedroom (didn't measure but guessing close to 66 F in there. It couldn't keep up with the 26 F outside, but that was to be expected. Anyway, it'll do well for what I had in mind.
