    Editorial Review

The Little Pro Plus is an absolutely necessary all-in-one kitchen tool. It chops, dices, shreds, grates, purées, and even kneads dough. Add the super citrus juicer and one of the three juicing cones and there's an automatic at-home juice bar. The base measures only 6 by 8-1/2 inches, so it fits cozily on the counter and is easy to store. Included is a comprehensive booklet detailing the many different ways of using the Little Pro Plus and dozens of recipes (try a homemade hummus). It even has pictures of how to assemble and use for those of us who are visual learners. --Dana Van Nest ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Works Very Well for the Price I Paid for
Juicer makes only citrus juice, but I was hoping that it would make carrot juice. That wasn't the case. I wish it was written "Food Processor and Cistus Juicer" instead of "Food Processor and Juicer." Other than that, I am very happy wiht the product.

I appreciate the safety feature that does not allow users to turn the switch on without everything appropreately installed. The blade is very sharp and now I feel safe to use the processor even though I can often be absent-minded while I cook. I was worried about injuring myself as I do stupid things, but this processor is safe to use. You cannot operate without all the cover installed completely because it is designed that way.

I was surprised to find how easy cleaning was. I suppose if you put oil or animal product, cleaning can require more detargent and scrabbing, but since I use it only with vegetables and nuts, I don't even have to use detargent. I rinse the parts with a dish washing brush and all the parts gets clean quite easily. I think the key is not to leave them darty and wash them right after you use them.

I have not used it long enough to tell you how long it lasts, but I use it almost every day. Food processor is a must-have if you love cooking. It also helps when you have dental problems that require soft food.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not powerful, but still beats doing itby hand
We have a kosher kitchen and I use this little processor for dairy: grating small quantities of parmesan cheese and vegetables; making tuna salad. It serves its purpose, but has something of a toy-like quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars High quality and durable
The Little Pro Plus has been my only food processor for 8 years. It is powerful, versatile and small. If it ever dies on me I will replace it with another just like it! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. For mixing, beating, and whipping, there are two cunningly designed beaters that produce volume while reducing splashing. For kneading, there's a strong dough hook, and for blending, there's an attachment that can be used in the accompanying 2-cup container (or any container) for small jobs like salad dressings. For chopping, the power unit attaches to another container with its own blades to make quick work of nuts, onions, hard cheeses, herbs, garlic, and meats. (The container's base serves as a snap-on plastic lid for storage.) The mixer/blender has three speeds and a power-pulse button for working through tough jobs. It stands upright on a nonskid base, and its power cord pivots to stay out of the way or can be locked in place. This appliance carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great all around mixer
I purchased this mixer before Christmas and from the first time I used it I was impressed with its power and versatility.I save so much time now that I can easily switch between mixing batter and chopping nuts or chocolate.I can attest to its durability as well as I dropped the mixer on the floor the second time I used it and there was no change in its performance. While I was considering a KitchenAid stand mixer before purchasing this, I see no need to do so anymore. This mixer works great for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
I needed a little hand mixer for whipping cream and egg whites and occasionally mixing cake batters or creaming butter to make cookies and this works perfectly for all those jobs. It's small, fits neatly back into it's box and it is not unnecessarily complicated. It has an attachment that blends shakes and a mini food processor that I used to chop vegetables. Great value, no problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars WoW!
This is a wondertool. I am an university student, who cooks, and this Braun machine is astounding. I used to have a faberware special, but then I got this, and I am very pleased, the hand blender can chop ice, the chopper will reduce anything you put in, unlike the faberware it has no maximum capacity, whatever you can dream up, this machine can make it, and replacement parts are readily available,it has earned all five stars in 1 day of use ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This Blender!
I'll add my voice to all the others that point out that the exposed rubber gear on the base will strip -- in my case about one year afer occasional use. It costs about $35 plus two trips to the repair center to get ot fixed -- more than the cost of a new blender if you count your time. And that will buy you only another year or so of service. You would think that after years of manufacturing this blender, Krups would have done something about this fatal flaw, because otherwise it is an outstanding blender. It really does crush ice. My advice: stay away from Krups. If you look on consumer websites, you'll see a flood of complaints about premature breakdowns, unavailability of parts, and the world's worst customer service. I also have a Krups dishwasher which had a similar problem, and would never buy Krups again!

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
I had this blender for maybe a year and used it infrequently. If you take it apart to wash it is very hard to put back together. It stripped when I tried to make frozen margaritas.Would not recommend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yes, this is a great blender but it has an Achilles' heel.
Just want to confirm what one of the other reviewers said. The rubber gear in the base will eventually strip (although mine lasted four years). Otherwise it's a great blender, especially for smoothies. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for flour
Used this sifter for a cake and frosting and got mostly great results. The flour went right through - I was amazed at how quickly it worked. The confectioner's sugar for the frosting didn't go as quickly, but the sweeper at the bottom worked very well for breaking up clumps.I much prefer this to my old crank-style sifter, and it's infinitely better than the trigger style ones, which are just too big for my hands (not to mention impossible to clean). It would be better if it worked faster for powdered sugar, but it can't be beat for flour.

2-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Annoying!!!
I have never written an online review for a product before, but I am so annoyed by this dumb sifter that I just had to. I am not a "speed" baker of any sort, but I have four kids and do like to make birthday cakes, muffins, cookies, etc. My old sifter was so old it was getting flecks of rust into the flour, so I started looking for a new one. I chose this one after reading all the online reviews, and even though I saw that a few people found it slow, I was not prepared for how slow it really is! I just sifted 3+ cups of confectioner's sugar for cake frosting and it took over five minutes. As another reviewer said, in order to make it go faster I shook more vigorously and then had to keep changing hands because they got tired. (I have never ever been tired out from BAKING before, fer' pete's sake!!!) I'm not convinced that the people who designed this product have ever actually USED a sifter. I'm stuck with the thing now, I suppose, so I'll learn to just go slower. But it is literally about one tenth the speed of my old sifter - which was just your typical grocery store thing with a crank on one side. The one thing I really like is the caps for both ends - an innovation I'm surprised nobody else has come up with. But that doesn't redeem the product for me. In fact, if I can put my hands on another one of those old-fashioned ones (at a thrift store, maybe) I'll snap it up and put this new one in the Goodwill bin.

5-0 out of 5 stars Why do people say it's slow???
I am not as experienced a baker as most who have posted here, but I just made a perfectly lovely Angel Food cake.I sifted several cups of flour several times, with no problems at all.I like this sifter and would recommend it to others. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars About pricing errors
My guess is that they tried to get rid of some old inventory by marking these down but sold way more than they expected and realized that they can't make up the costs. You can always take advantage of their hokey Gold Box deals that make you think you're special even though they're offered to everyone and their cousin.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Good product...TERRIBLE vendor!Buy elsewhere.
Amazon seems to experience a disproportionate number of "pricing errors".Whenever you attempt to purchase anything at Amazon that represents a 50% or higher discount, don't expect to receive it.Poor business practices.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Underrated Tool
I'm surprised that more people don't talk about food mills.I got this one for Christmas.I don't have a food processor and I want to be able to make thick pureed bean soups, homemade applesauce and the like.I can't get enough of this food mill! The three blades are more than adequate for everything I have done so far.I may never buy applesauce or tomato sauce again.I'm looking forward to trying it for mashed potatoes and more soups. The only drawback is that the assembly instructions aren't really clear.I was able to get the food mill put together without much trouble, but clear instructions would have been nice. There are also a few recipes enclosed that I have tried with great success. ... One second is all it takes to yield perfectly cut fruit slices with this tool by Oxo. Also a great tool for pears, the apple divider's soft, oversize rubber handles relieve and absorb the pressure from your hands for a nearly effortless cut. Positioned at an angle upward from the blade base, the handles ensure that hands and fingers have ample clearance from tabletops and cutting boards. Stainless steel makes the blades easy to clean and dishwasher-safe.

The Good Grips line features durable, nonslip, flexible handles on every product. Ergonomically designed to fit the palm comfortably and softly, the pressure-absorbing processed rubber handle puts less tension on the hands while still providing an outstanding grip. Made from the same material as dishwasher gaskets, the handles are slip-proof--wet or dry--as well as dishwasher-safe. Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I'm on my second one
They both have cracked on the sides where the blades join the plastic. This is not acceptable. I tried a stainless steel model but it is very heavy and not sharp so it needs lots of force. Any other suggestions? I can't keep spending $7 for a product that keeps breaking. Oxo are you listening?

4-0 out of 5 stars Fruit Slicing, Safe & Simple!
I absolutely love this apple/pear corer and divider. It is very easy to use, just push down and voila! Apple slices! The way the slicer/corer is configured it really helps you get the "most" out of your apple. When I cut apples myself with a knife I always throw away a much larger core than I have to with this contraption.

A few MINOR things would be that the blade doesn't always go all the way through the bottom of the apple peel, but you're able to pull the slices out anyway.I wouldn't recommend turning it upside down and trying to push the blade all the way through because that is how you will end up cutting yourself. Also, maybe I just buy really juicy fruit but for some reason I always manage to squirt some of the juices all over me...That is probably to no fault of the product, but it is something to be aware of when using it.

Cleaning it?I put it in the top rack of the dishwasher and have not had a problem.Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this product.Another score for Good Grips!

1-0 out of 5 stars Junk!!!
I bought 2 of these because I eat a lot of apples and pears. Both of them split on the sides within 6 months. These OXO units 'look' like they are sturdier, better quality than other plastic units, but they aren't. If you use a corer/divider on a regular basis, don't waste your money on these; go for an all stainless steel unit instead. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Fresh pineapple has a tropical, delicious taste … but many folks can’t figure out how to get past this fruit’s thorny exterior to the sweet inside and resort to buying those perfect little rings in a can. This pineapple slicer peels, cores, and slices a fresh specimen in less than 30 seconds so there is no excuse for ever buying canned pineapple again. To use this ingenious little tool, you must first cut the top off of your fresh pineapple. Next, place the slicer in the middle of the pineapple and push down while turning the handle in a clockwise motion. Pull the slicer straight out of the pineapple and--voila!--your perfect little rings come out with the tool while the rough shell stays behind. Finally, simply slide the handle off the slicer and the pineapple rings slide off with it. The pineapple shell remains intact so you can use it as a dessert bowl or as a glass for piña coladas. The slicer comes with three blades to tackle pineapples of any size. This tool has garnered several prestigious design awards from all over the world, including Germany’s Award for Good Industrial Design, Holland’s ION’s Good Industrial Design award, and Japan’s MITI Award for Excellent Foreign Product. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Put away that cardboard canister of prefabricated, over-processed Parmesan cheese and grate your own with this Zyliss hand-crank cheese grater. You'll never go back to the packaged stuff again. And, thinking versatility, this fine grinding drum works equally well on hard cheese, nuts, or chocolate. Dust some ground chocolate over cocoa or crepes, nuts over brownies, and, of course, fresh Parmesan over spaghetti. Just slip the steel drum inside the grater, hold on with one hand while twisting the handle on with the other, place the cheese or nuts into the 2-1/4-inch by 1-inch well, and grind as little or as much as you need. The drum is open on one side for easier sprinkling over food. --Doree Armstrong ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this grater
I didn't know they used these at the Olive Garden; I felt the plastic on this one at the store after our last (cheaper) model broke, and thought this one might stand up better. It has!It is the only tool I'll ever use for grating Romano or Parmesan cheese for pasta -- so much easier and faster than a plane or box grater. The unit is nice and sturdy -- I don't worry about the arm breaking while I'm grating, as it did on our previous grater. It comes apart very easily for cleaning, and the handle can be used on either side for left- or right-handed cooks.I have used it to grate large amounts of cheese, too; I guess it's a little hard on the hands, but I think any grater will present that problem unless it's electric.

4-0 out of 5 stars Soft cheese need not apply...
This tool is well-designed and handles comfortably, grating fine swirls of cheese with a quick crank of the handle. Note that this item works well ONLY with hard items like Parmesan and other European hard cheeses, but not with the cheeses commonly found in supermarkets, which have been processed to the point of being like rubber (including US-made Swiss, Edam, Cheddar etc.) These softer cheeses choke up the grate barrel and become glued to the internal structure, making it increasingly difficult to dispense cheese and impossible to clean.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for hard cheeses
I got the grater set that comes with a little
container with lid that attaches to the opening
of the grater where the grated cheese falls out.
    Very handy.

I love this grater. Very efficient, easy to use
and no paranoia about adding some meat (your finger
tips) to the cheese like with most other ones.

Works perfectly for hard cheeses. Used it as well
for Beets, which worked very well to.
Had troubles with rather soft cheeses like Havarti,
as it clogged up inside the grating cylinder...

a must have for me... ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Whether you call that German-by-way-of-Genoa hybrid of dumpling and pasta spaetzle, spatzle, spatzen, or just "that dough stuff you drop into boiling broth," the folks at Norpro have fashioned a reasonably efficient way to prepare it. With their stainless-steel spaetzle maker--essentially a bottomless mining-car basket that runs along a flat cheese grater with bigger holes--cooks can load their favorite combo of egg/flour/milk (recipes for two spaetzle doughs are included) into the basket. By running the "mining car" along the rails of the stainless-steel grater, the batter is extruded into the waiting pot of boiling water or stock. At least, that's the theory: while the plastic basket is bottomless, it's also topless, meaning that, depending on the consistency of the batter, you may need to push it through the grater by hand--a bit daunting over a boiling pot. The grater base is also attached to a plastic handle via plastic tabs; one wishes for one-piece construction, though no doubt anall-stainless-steel fabrication would involve dropping a different kind of dough. --Tony Mason ... What a wonderful tool...

Easy to use, quick and doesn't use up lots of space.
Definitely the way to make spaetzle (or Knoepli as
    they are called in Switzerland).

This is definitely one of those speciality tools
that's worth having, because there's nothing else
that works as nicely and it makes the job SO much
    easier!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars does the job
It's a pretty simple appliance, it sure does make spaetzle.I've used the recipie included several times and it comes out pretty darned good. It's a little pain to clean, but that goes with the territory when working with spaetzle batter.Lots of watter and soaking and it is fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love My Spaeztle Maker!!
A decade or so ago I toured through Europe and while in Germany I was introduced to Spaetzle. It was love at first bite.I live in a small town in California and spaetzle is not easy to come by.I bought an instant package of spaetzle, and followed the directions (pour contents of box into boiling water...) and it was terrible. Finally I decided to shop around for a Spaetzle maker and the only one I could find cost a fortune and was incredibly big and awkward, I imagined scraping my knuckles off and gave up my dreams of having fresh spaetzle.Imagine my surprise and delight when I found this simple spaetzle maker here on Amazon.com and at such a friendly price.I ordered it right before the holidays and it arrived in time for Christmas dinner. We eat our Christmas feast early in the afternoon and for a light dinner I love to make turkey soup from leftover Christmas turkey. For a twist I decided to add some fresh spaetzle and it was a wonderful success. The maker came with two simple recipes and after a couple attempts, I mastered the spaetzle maker.Since then we eat spaetle often with gravy's, soups, and tons of other dishes. This is a great deal for such a wonderful tool that will inhance you meals. ...
