I really do enjoy my quesadilla maker
Since I found it marked down at 10 percent at a local drugstore. I have been having a blast making these quesadillas with this. I have made them before in the past using various other gadgets but found this to be the ideal way to make them. Before I'd get them on my grill griddle the fillings would fall out. same withmy george foreman grill. This happens to be the easiest way and most fun way to make those. So far I have made plain cheese ones and Pizza quesadillas. I just love this and I know most will too.

Perfect Quesadillas! Love it!
This is a terrific appliance!7 minute Quesadillas!I sprayed a little Pam, plugged in this machine, put some Perdue shortcuts chicken in my mini chopper, put the chicken and pre shredded Mexican cheese on a tortilla, put a tortilla on the top, put it in this machine and closed the top.While it was cooking I put some sour cream and salsa on a dish and 5 minutes later I had delicious quesadillas!Nothing stuck to the nonstick finish, just wipe it with a wet paper towel (after it cools) and you're done.Nothing oozed out, no drips at all, and if you over fill and it oozes there is a drip tray for the front and a built in drip area around the rim.It is much better than I expected.I bought it at Bed, Bath and Beyond and in addition to the manual/recipe book it also came with a cookbook, I can't wait to try more recipes. And, you can store it upright so it saves cabinet space.It will pay for itself in 2 quesadillas, plus you can enjoy them at home.Highly recommended!

A nightmare to clean
I was so excited when I first got the quesadilla maker, but it was a different story after I used it...The cheese simply dripped all around the quesadilla maker, not only onto my countertop, which made a real mess, but mostly between the bottom heating plate and the plastic base of the appliance.It literally takes me half an hour to clean it up every time, and that's because I give up (you simply can't get the cheese out of this narrow space, since the heating plate doesn't come out).I tried it several times, placing aluminum foil between the countertop and the appliance to make cleaning easier, but there's nothing to be done about cleaning the quesadilla maker itself.So I finally gave up and made quesadillas with my good old pan, it was a breeze - to make them and to clean up!And the quesadillas are just as good.If I were you, I wouldn't get this product.It looks cool, but that's about it. ... Excellent product! + Helpful hints.
Excellent product! I've had a Tilia FoodSaver Vac for about 5 years (I asked for it for my birthday) and have never had a problem with it. If the person who said that one corner didn't seal will check the rubber on the lid, it may have slid to one side and isn't making contact with the bag when trying to seal it. This would make it not seal completely. Most reviewers don't offer hints to make using the Tilia FoodSaver Vac more economical or practical so here are some suggestions: (1) When making a bag, if the meat(as an example) is a steak 8 inches long, make the bag at least 12 inches long. The reason for this is that the bags can be washed and reused over and over until they're too small for anything to fit in and still seal.
(2) After sealing the bag, there is about an inch of waste bag material on the end you just sealed so take a felt tip marker and write on that end, what it is, the weight, and the date. When you open the bag to use the "meat", cut off the end you wrote on, wash the bag, reuse it and write on the new end when you seal it again. (3) For sanitary purposes even though I wash the bag, when I reuse it for meat, I wrap the meat in plastic wrap before putting it in the bag. (4) If you want to put liquid in a bag for sealing, put the liquid in a zip lock bag and freeze it and when it's frozen, take the contents out of the zip lock and put it in a Tilia FoodSaver Vac bag and seal it as you normally would. If you try to seal a liquid in the bag unfrozen, the vac will pull the liquid into the motor and ruin it. I hope this helps some of you.

Great machine and easy to use
I have had my FoodSaver for a few years now.My husband and I use it often.Meats keep so much longer, without getting freezer burn, than freezing meats in the celo. wraps that they come in at the grocery store.We also now buy big packages of meat - steak, chicken, pork - at a wholesale club....We bring it all home and then pack it in bags of two pieces of meat.Then, all we have to do it take a bag out of the freezer and thaw it when we want to cook.The meat is as fresh as when we bought it.

The only thing that I have not tried with this machine is using it with a container and not a bag.I really haven't had a need to do that.

I did discover that it is not good to try to seal a fresh loaf of bread in one of the bags....It mushes the bread.However, I found a way around this.I freeze my bread overnight in a regular plastic bag.The next day, once the bread is frozen, I put the bread in a FoodSaver bag, vacuum the air out and seal it.

All in all, a great machine to have....It saves your frozen food!

Totally awesome machine!!
This machine is easy to use and saves a ton of money when you have to freeze things and freezer burn is a concern. I have kept fresh salmon up to a year in a bag,and steaks I put them in marinade then freeze them they come out very tender and good.
Also great to buy ground meat on sale and use these bags to make dinner sized portions, your ground meat will never freezer burn!

I bought one of these because it claimed to be heavy duty. Mine suffered electrical failure almost immediately.And look at the grab nub on the cap.It's smooth and beveled backwards (like a teepee instead of like a vee), so if your fingers are the least bit slippery, you cannot use that nub for its sole and only purpose, which is to remove the cap.Poor reliability and careless design work by a company that's been making blenders far too long to be putting out a product like this.

Disappointed
Although the blender is very powerful, it had trouble blending ice to make two pina coladas.I had to turn off the blender and stir the pina colada mix, and ice, with a spoon four times before all the ice was crushed...and that was only the first drink of the evening.<br /> I made another drink later and had the same problem with the ice.Instead of turning the blender off and stirring the mix myself, I shook the blender with both hands and accomplished the job.<br /> I guess that I was expecting a blender that could handle crushing ice efficiently and without my assistance.<br /> I would not purchase this blender again or recommend it to anyone.<br /> Next time, I will get a Kitchen Aid.

Ice cream just the way you want it!
This is a delightfully easy way to make ice cream that tastes the way you want it to.Want a flavor no one sells?Mix it yourself with this easy-to-use machine.Even basic flavors are great when you control the ingredients that go in.
The machine is not messy, as it requires no ice or rock salt, and all of the parts are fairly easy to wash.The recipes in the instruction book work just fine.

A bit of advice;
1)Read the instructions carefully.
2)Plan for some lead time.You need to have the bowl completely frozen. (If you need to make more than one batch at a time, you can buy an extra freezer bowl.)
3)Bear in mind that the ice cream will still be soft when the machine is done with it. (This is true with most ice cream machines.) You will still need to put it in the freezer for a while before serving.
4)Indulge in high quality ingredients; for example, get some whole vanilla beans for your vanilla ice cream. (If you want a lot of them, eBay is the cheapest place to get them.)

I am delighted with this purchase and just can not imagine buying ice cream from the store again.

Pays for itself in one summer of use
I've had this ice-cream maker for three years now, and think it's the best little ice-cream maker I've owned. It's so easy to use and clean, and works perfectly every time. It has definitely paid for itself several times over, because I haven't bought store-bought ice-cream since I bought this machine, and I've made LOTS of ice-cream, gelato and sorbet with it since.

My recommendation for best results: Refridgerate your ice-cream mixture overnight before making if possible, and be sure the insert is thoroughly frozen in a very cold freezer. On warm summer days, I also cover the top opening of the clear plastic "lid"with a folded towel to keep the cool in better.

Great measuring cups
These guys are just great.I've used mine for years now and they still look new.The only thing I don't like about them is that the 3/4 cup mark is missing, but other than that, I use them continuously.They wash beautifully in the dishwasher (even peanut butter comes out great), and they are just a dream to use.Great product, highly recommend.

We've had one of these for about 5 years, and I'm about to toss it--it used to work well, but I can't get it to go all the way around a can and end up prying everything open.My husband always talks about them being used in space, but I have to wonder if they really take canned goods up there...

Finally talked the wife into trashing her cheapy one
I remember looking at can openers in a store about 5 years ago and an old man handed me a swing away.It didn't look fancy like all the others I was weeding through, but he said "This one is the only one NASA trusts and the one I use at home is probably older than you!".He showed me the gears and how it's pretty much impossible to wear them out.It was cheaper than the fancy ones, and only a little bit more than the low-end ones in the mall shop I was at.

It worked great, but was 'borrowed' permanently by an ex-girlfriend (she did leave her fancy one...which would butcher any can you attempted to open with it)...

I finally talked my wife into trashing the dollar store one she picked up a couple years ago....she thought all can openers were the same.

The stone cracked this evening after two months use
I will purchase a different brand pizza stone in the future.The oven was preheated for at least 30 minutes before putting two room temperature calzones on the stone. Then CRACK!

Not a bad set!
The stone in this set works great - I HIGHLY recommend using one when making pizzas!You will not regret it, the pizza tastes SO much better than the same one made in a metal pan.I don't know how highly I recommend the set as a whole.The pizza cutter is not very high quality, I recommend purchasing the KitchenAid version instead.The serving rack is nice, I haven't had any problems with mine.The "fourth" piece to the set is just an instruction booklet which make the whole "4-piece set" advertisement a little misleading!Either way, it's not a bad set for the price so I do recommend it highly as a gift.I think for your own personal use, you can find better!

made great pizza, but it's NOT 4 usable peices
I've been making pizza for about a year now on a conventional round metal pizza pan, and it always turned out OK.I've always wanted to try a pizza stone to see it it can actually improve the quality of my pizza, especially the crust, which has been a weak point for me.so I was at (a local store) the other day, and I decided, what the heck, the price is decent, I may as well get one and check it out.the difference in my pizza crust was amazing.even on my first try (with dough I had forgotten to add the salt to!), my boyfreind said it was the best pizza I'd made yet!so I can emphatically say that YES, a stone like this can make big difference.plus, it using it feels really cool.the only caveat I have is that when the box says "4-peice set", the fourth peice is a dinky little pamphlet with ONE recipe for dough.what is NOT included is a pizza peel, the giant wooden spatula used to get the pizza on and off the hot stone, even though the little booklet says to use it.that was slightly annoying.this same company makes one, so if you're going to buy this, get one at the same time.I would also recommend picking up Pizza: Any Way You Slice It to go along with this.Charles Scicolone's walk throughs of ingredients and cooking times and technique have been invaluable.He also explains something which I did not know, and which may help a previous reveiwer.Pre-heat your stone at your oven's HOTTEST setting (mine is 500) for 30 minutes before cooking.(sounds like a long time, but your dough has to rise anyway, right?).then cook it for just 6 minutes.I did this, even though it's not what my recipe called for, and it turned out fabulous. ... Don't use for hot food!
Bought this for the kitchen and the only piece that truly does what it is supposed to do is the vase they give to hold all the pieces.The spoons both melted in pots of boiling water stirring spaghetti.The spatula bent and distorted while trying to lift something off a hot cookie sheet.

If there was a choice to give a half star, that is all I would give.....you have to give them some credit, since the vase looks nice on the counter

i guess you get what you pay for. the only item of good quality in this set is the container that holds the pieces. i had one of the ladles in a pot of pasta that was only med high heat and the heat made the plastic shrink. the quality of this product is very cheap plastic. it feels like a toy. do not buy this junk. i wish someone would have revieed this as junk so that i didnt waste $15 on this crap. after the first ladle got deformed, i tried one of the pasta spoons and one scoop into the med high heated water and it ALSO melted. one scooop!!! this is junk and farberware should be embarassed to produce such cheap quality products. i wanted to write their company but couldnt even find the product listed on their website.

Don't use these with high heat

Cookie sheets not durable
I got this as a wedding gift.I do not know if it cooks well, as I have not used them yet.I did run them through the dishwasher, as I wash things before first use.On the bottom of the cookie sheets, they say "Dishwasher safe - Do not soak in water" and "Caution! Do Not use if water is inside pan layers.Risk of burning from steam release.To remove water, place pan upside down in oven at 250 F until water is gone."On it's first round through the dishwasher, one of the cookie sheets got water in it between the pan layers.So now I have to stick it in the oven for a while.I will not be happy if I have to do that every time I wash the cookie sheets.Also, the tops of the cookie sheets scrape easily (I stacked one cookie sheet on top of the other, and if you slide them at all, they scrape the tops).Although still usable, I am not impressed with the low quality of the cookie sheets.

Airbake is unbeatable
I have had my two sheets for about 15 years or more. Before buying these I was buying cookie sheets every couple years. These still look good. I have never put them in the dishwasher. They wash quick and easy clean up. If something is stuck on it I just wet a sponge and let it sit on it for a bit and then wipe it up. I have even used the one with the sides all around for pork chops, etc. I love my AIRBAKES!!

Makes the best pizza.
I really love this set. The pizza pan is wonderful!! I always had problems with the way pizza tasted when baked in the oven because the bottom was either burnt or mushy. Not anymore!! It's perfect pizza from now on. Oh, and the cookie sheets are nice, too. ... Read more

At the time, it was revolutionary; now--like all great inventions--we take it for granted. In fact, these days this pie plate from Pyrex, a company that's been making quality glass products for the better part of a century, costs less than a bowl of pasta at the Italian joint down the street. Not a bad deal considering it transitions flawlessly from oven to microwave to freezer to dishwasher. An essential dish for every kitchen
I have only GOOD things to say about this baking dish.I bought one for myself when I got my first apartment.Five years later, and it still looks brand new and I use it all the time.In fact, I had to buy a second one (in blue this time) because I use this so much!

This dish is a good size for making meals for one or two people, as well as side dishes for more, or brownies, etc.It fits nicely in the fridge or freezer for storage, in the microwave for easy reheating, and in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.The handles are good sized for easy gripping and looks perfectly at home on a side buffet table at holidays.

For the price, you can't beat this purchase.It is worth so much more than what you will actually spend. ... Read more

George Foreman GR36CB Jumbo Size Plus Grill with Cookbook
The size of this grill is great, but makes it hard to clean.For that reason, I went back to my smaller George Forman grill and gave this one away.

Are you sure you want the jumbo?
I've had this unit for several years and just went back to the family size grill for our family of 4.We're trying to eat healthier, smaller portions and, being the "kitchen manager," I decided the jumbo size just wasn't worth the trouble anymore.I'm giving it 3 stars here because not only did the nonstick coating wear off a little too soon to suit me, but the power cord got hot (which always worried me), and perhaps the biggest disappointment was that the lid would not fully open under any of my kitchen cabinets.The unit is that large.I could only use this grill on my kitchen island.You probably won't want to leave it out (because it's so big), but then it's not easy to store either for the same reason.Just be sure you really want/need this large size if you're going for this grill.I do love the Foreman grills but this one was just a bit too large to be a convenient kitchen appliance.

do not buy this grill, buy the new version!
I like this grill a lot but cleaning is awful. There is a new George Forman Grill out called "George Foreman GRP99 Next Generation Grill with Removable Plates" that will be similar this grill but with removable grill plate for easy cleaning. ... Read more
