Editorial Review

This straight-sided 2-1/2-quart pan can be used for sauces and, covered with its flat lid, for stews and casseroles. Shallow (3 inches) in relation to its capacity and diameter (8-3/8 inches), this pan, unlike conventionally proportioned saucepans, exposes lots of surface and is therefore ideal for reducing sauces or even stocks and broths. Though it's not nonstick, like some Calphalon cookware, the matte-finish pan is anodized for stick-resistance as well as hardness. Metal utensils won't harm the surface. The contoured, textured handle is cast stainless steel and resists heating on the stovetop; it's also triple-riveted for durability and balance. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, the pan cooks without hot spots or warping and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice saucepan, good price
I have used this pan for around 3 months, so far I satisfy with my purchase through Amazon. it do have a distinguish difference between other cheap saucepan, but sometimes I found that it's rather sticky.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is THE one!!
I love it! The only thing Ive had a problem with (and I even had this happen with my wolfgang puck cookware) is heating oil to fry the kids some french fries. If you dont let it heat just like the directions say then the frozen food will stick pretty bad! But thats minor and with how fast these little babies heat its not even a problem. Im giving away the puckware. Ive got the whole calphalon H.A. line. I love it!! Calphalon cookware does it all.... What everyone says about not being dishwasher safe... Even if it was I wouldnt put mine in the dishwasher.. I wont even use metal on them. To me they are worth the extra care they require.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast cooking
The wide, shallow form factor means a high ratio of surface area to volume exposed to heat. These aluminum pans also take high heat well, quickly spreading the heat uniformly around the pan, reducing any "hot spots" that may form. This all translates to a pan that can cook well with high heat, getting you to a boil faster and shortening the time it takes to reduce sauces. Foods don't stick very much, though it takes some scrubbing to remove the light brown film that forms over time from the higher temp cooking. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars watch out for the hot spot
I bought this with high expectations but was disappointed because when I use it on my gas stove, it tends to get a hot spot in the center where your soup/stew can BURN.No fun. It's great for the oven though so I now brown everything in a separate pot, then pour everything into this one and throw it in to bake.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Saucier
I have owned my 8.5 qt. pot for over a year.I, however, got it for $50!It is an excellent piece for things like pot roast or reductions. The outsides and bottoms of the hard annodized surfaces get ugly but who cares! It is a tool!

I own ten pieces of Calphaloncookwear. Two skillets are non stick for things like eggs where I do not want browning.Calphalon is darn nice cookwear that is a joy to use, especially if all one has used is cheap cookwear.

All in all, this is a nice, VERY WIDE, pot.

5-0 out of 5 stars I was surprised at the diameter of this pan
I was not expecting this pan to be as large in diameter as it is.Previously owned pots where more vertical in this size instead of wide.I have fixed mostly soups in this pot.I have really liked its performance. My only complaint is that it seems to have a whitish looking spot the center bottom of the pan that doesn't clean up very good.My overall satisfaction with the item is good.I have had no problem with anything sticking in the pan either.I would certainly recommend it.Cooking with a wide pot is quicker than the taller ones. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect price for my Porridge pot.
This pot is the ideal size for making a weeks worth of Porridge. It is not to big to go in the fridge and therefore does not take up much room. This is also used the for heating up veggies and soup.It is the most used pot in my Calphalon arsenal, it is the perfect size for most of my needs.I need to get a 2nd one, it is that useful.Very simple to clean. The price when I bought this was excellent, as with all of my Calphalon purchases, Amazon has the BEST prices.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfectly sized saucepot
I recently ordered this pot, and I've been using it nonstop...it hasn't even had time to make it inside my cupboard!I haven't ever had a pan that would properly steam my rice until this one.I have a gas range and, even with a heat diffuser in place, the rice was always sticking to the bottom of the pan. With this saucepot, the rice turns out perfectly even without a diffuser.Fits just the right amount of soup for my family of four.Handles do get hot, but--in my opinion--having to remember to use the potholders is a small price to pay for perfect rice!

5-0 out of 5 stars Work horse pan
This pot is perfect for a wide variety of uses. The first thing I cooked in it was polenta....usually a gooey, sticky mess to clean up.All I did was soak the pot in warm soapy water for 10 minutes followed by a quick swish with a dobie and it was clean.I love the size of this pot, great for polenta, risotto, small soups and stews.Next I'm trying Cream of Marmot to see if that cleans up as well.Seriously, this is another great pan at a fantastic price. No more cheap pans for me, I probably will not outlive these Calphalon gems.Just remember the pot holders, these handles do get really hot!I knew that before I bought them so, I can't fault the product. ... This 12-inch everyday pan will end up being the hardest working pan in your kitchen. It is ideal for everything from simmering stovetop succotash and braising brisket to browning Dutch pancakes or cooking fruit tarts. Part of Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware, this pan is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that's uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Its durable hard-anodized finish is stick- and scratch-resistant and won’t react with acidic foods. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The included hard-anodized lid is dome-shaped, making it ideal for moist-heat cooking. The cookware and lid are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F so you can transfer a frittata to the oven for browning without having to switch pans. 5-0 out of 5 stars Chicken pot
Even if you cook nothing else in this pot, buy it just for making chicken. I've switched to a very healthy diet solely because making chicken in this pot is so wonderful. Follow the directions - let the chicken sit at room temp a bit, allow it to cook and 'release' from the cooking surface before turning it - and the absolute best part is having some chicken boullion on hand to make a quick sauce afterwards.

I read the reviews here. My first response is that I would never dream of cooking eggs in this.Get the omelet pan or the international crepe pan offered on this site for that.I have also used it to make a beef roast, searing it on stovetop then putting the whole shebang in the oven. I've even made filet mignon in this pan, when the weather turned bad on a cookout.

Simply put, this pan will improve your quality of life. Cleaning isn't an issue.I soak it in hot water afterwards, scrub it, and good to go.About every third time I use it I break out the Bon Ami and scrub pad.As others have commented in reviews, this pan doesn't even get put away.It sits atop the stove in defiance of the heat-and-eat lifestyle I used to have, and every time I look at it I'm reminded of the aroma of garlic being sauteed in olive oil.I <3 this pot!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A high quality pan for the money
I have this pan for over a year now. Love it! It is durable, heavy but well balanced. A top quality pan for $30 shipped. You can't go wrong!

Editorial Review

The standard size for bran and pumpkin muffins, as well as decadent chocolate-chocolate-chip cupcakes, this 12-cup nonstick muffin pan works wonderfully for brunches and small birthday parties. Made from high-quality aluminum, this Calphalon pan distributes and maintains heat, ensuring even cooking from the sides to the bottom. Its reinforced rims prevent curvature of the cooking surface, and also maintain consistent baking throughout the pan, while the professional nonstick coating makes hand washing easy--not only do blueberry muffins slip off the pan, but so does leftover grease and berry juice. Remember that aluminum pans disperse heat quickly, so a recipe's cooking temperature may need to be lowered slightly. --Madeleine Miller ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Handy
Love the Calphalon set. It is easy to clean from the no-stick surface and the paper slips right out of the pan. In the past I've used the stainless steel pans which were MUCH harder to clean and now I can't go back. I still haven't made any muffins with it, but the cupcakes are quite tasty!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nearly no need for cooking spray.
I enjoy baking muffins. My usual complaint is that no matter how well you clena the muffin pans after each use, they never stay nice looking for long. These have done so for more than ayear and numerous times in the oven. They are so nonstick, you can almost forgo cooking sprays. The muffins practically pop out ontheir own when done baking.Cleaning is done in a blink.I ammonly disappointed I no longer have these, I had 2.When I was moving, the box these were in disappeared. So I will have to get 2 more. The price, it is great. You can not purchase good Professional Nonstick muffin pans for this price, they are at least 2x's as much.At this price, do as I did, get 2!

5-0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
I bake muffins constantly.Ordinary muffin tins I have purchased looked so grungy after so little time that I finally decided to spend the extra money on a Professional Non-Stick.I am so pleased with the quality of this pan.It bakes beautifully, the muffins slip right out of the pan even when I don't use grease or spray, and it cleans up like a dream! ... I originally had a different type of cookie sheet on our wedding registry, but changed it to this type after reading other reviews. These are the best cookie sheets I've ever used!Whether it be pizza dough or cookies, nothing has stuck so far.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good baking sheets
I do have 2 of these and use them when my Commercial Bakeware set is being used or is dirty.I prefer the Commercial set more, one reason is for the price. Better price and you get 2. I also like the look of the silver on the Commercial set, silly reason ye s, but I do think they are 'prettier'. This is also a good set, though I have had on 2 occasions what I was making boil over and was a tad difficult to remove. This is usually not an issue with my other Calphalon bakeware and cookware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific nonstick cookie sheets!!
I have two of these and recently bought some for a friend's birthday present. These are great!! They have also held up well through 2 years of baking.I bake a lot and these cookie sheets haven't changed, warped, bent, etc...They are high quality and you won't find them cheaper than at target, I looked! ... Editorial Review

This straight-sided 3/4-quart pan is shaped and sized for making sauces and melting butter. Notched spouts on either side serve both right- and left-handers when pouring. Calphalon's Commercial Nonstick cookware is coated with an especially durable, multilayered nonstick material. (For long life, use only plastic, nylon, and wooden utensils.) The pan's matte-finish exterior is anodized for hardness and won't chip, crack, or peel. The polished, cast-stainless-steel handle is multiriveted for durability, resists heating on a stovetop, and has a hanging hole. 5-0 out of 5 stars Saucy little pot
I just love this pot.It is great for melting butter, heating milk for Cocoa and for making cream sauces. The notched sides are simply wonderful, how come the 'better' brands could not think of that. The notches are sheer genius, I hate pouring out something burning hot and struggling to try not to spill it.The price is pretty good too.I am only upset I no longer have ownership of my saucepan. When I was moving there were a couple of boxes that dissappeared, and this was in one of those vanished boxes.I have another on my wishlist.

5-0 out of 5 stars Versatile Little Saucepan!
Not too big, spouts on both sides and hard anodized- just perfect. What more can be said? I Love it!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy Little Pan
This Calphalon Commercial Nonstick 3/4-quart Mini Sauce Pan is so handy. I keep mine hanging on the wall near my cooktop. It will hold up to 3 cups of milk for scalding or for making a white sauce, but I usually only fill it half full. Mostly I use this small pan for melting a stick or two of butter for popcorn made in our Whirley Pop, or for making clarified butter to serve with boiled lobster or crab. I like the two pouring spouts; it has two so that it's convenient for either a right-handed or left-handed person to use. Because the pan is nonstick, clean-up is a breeze. I always hand wash it, as I do all my Calphalon cookware. If there's ever any discoloration or residue on the anodized-aluminum exterior of this pan, I recommend using some Dormond cleaner, Bon Ami, or Soft Scrub to make it look like new again. I really love the cool-V handle - a classic sculpted stainless steel design, which has a hole for hanging in its end. The handle matches the Calphalon stainless steel utensils, so you can hang them together on a Calphalon straight wall rack as practical but stylish accessories for your kitchen. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice product
I just received my new roasting pan and can't wait to use it.The only thing that I have had the opportunity to notice is that the pan is thin and I was under the impression that it would be thick. There is not non stick teflon on this pan so I'm not sure how well the pan will clean up.The handles are very functional!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best price - best roaster anywhere!
This is the best roasting pan I have ever worked with!Beef, poultry, lamb, you name it.It is great for making lasagna (note: it takes two boxes and will feed about 20.) The forks make lifting any turkey a breeze. If you are really into seasoning meat, then get this set for the injector alone.I've even used this pan to make a large sheet cake.I've never had any problems cleaning it. Don't ever use any kind of steel wool or scotch-rite scrubber on Calphalon, and don't put it in the dishwasher, it will ruin it.The best part - the price Amazon offers - you won't find a better value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Griddle
I've been using this griddle for about 3 months now and cannot say enough about it.The non-stick coating is fabulous and when making pancakes, I do not have to use any oil or butter at all.The handle stays very cool to the touch and is easy to grip.

So far the pan has not warped in any way and is still in perfect condition.I would highly recommend this griddle for anybody who is into breakfast.

It's called a grill pan because its cooking surface has a raised-and-channeled pattern to sear grill marks into burgers, steak, and fish and to drain fats from food. Use only plastic, nylon, and wood utensils on its nonstick cooking surface. The pan is anodized for hardness, and for that no-nonsense, commercial-kitchen look, Calphalon's Professional Nonstick II cookware wears a matte finish. Rolled stainless-steel handles are double-riveted for durability and balance and stay cool on stovetops. Holes in the handles facilitate hanging on hook or peg. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, pans cook without hot spots or warping. The pan comes with a lifetime warranty against defects.--Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Pan
First, let me address the comments about food sticking.Rule #1 when grilling on anything....you must let the item being grilled cook until ready to turn.If you try to turn ANYTHING before it is time, it will stick. That said..this pan is great.Good quality and the price is incredible.I have used mine for 2 years, and still no complants.Clean up is easy to.I don't understand why the other comment about food sticking??If cleaned as instructed, there is no problem at all.Mine still looks brand new and I used it at least 3 times a week.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this pan!!
First let me say that I love this pan!I can use a spray oil (Pam "olive oil" or similar), turn up the heat, and sear away - pangrilling veggies, chops, fish, you name it.It comes out evenly cooked, it's not greasy and it's quick!

For the folks who complained about cleaning, I just use a fingernail brush on the ridges. It comes clean in a jiffy and is ready to go for the next meal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Grilling
Cooking is not magic and some common sense is required...this is the best grilling pan I have ever used. I own many Calphalon products as well as other brands. For me, it grills superbly, fish, chicken and beef and cleans easily. If you have a problem with this pan, check your food prep or your technique. I rate it as one of the best cooking products I own....and I've been cooking for over 35 years. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Heat-resistant up to 400 degrees F, these large nylon utensils won't melt in a hot skillet or on a backyard grill. They're tough and durable, they won't scratch nonstick cookware, and they're dishwasher-safe. Their handles are notched on the backs so they can rest on a pan's edge without sliding, and they have holes so they can be hung on a hook or a peg. The set consists of a 14-inch spatula with a 4-by-4-inch head, beveled to slide easily under food; a 13-inch spatula with a 3-by-3-3/4-inch head, also beveled; a 13-inch ladle with a 5-ounce-capacity head; and a 13-1/2-inch spoon with a 4-inch oval head. --Fred Brack ... 5-0 out of 5 stars These have lasted for TEN years!!
I got all of these pieces (and then some) for a shower gift nearly 10 years ago.I still have each and every one of them. They are still in excellent condition despite being used quite frequently! They hold up perfectly on high heat...no melting! And, they have caused no damage to my non-stick cooking pots and pans.I can definitely see these lasting another 10 years!I can't say enough good things about them.I'd give them 10 stars if that were an option!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as heat resistant as I was led to believe
I bought these to go with my new Calphalon pans. These utensils are pretty good, they are a good long length and clean easily. However, on the first use of both of the spatulas (carefully following their temperature instructions), the edges began to melt/shred. Called Calphalon and they are sending me a new spatula, no questions asked...hopefully this one will be better. Impressed with their service, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars My heart belongs to calphalon
i am a one brand girl, well, as far as Calphalon goes.My pots are all Cals, and when I saw these, I just knew I had to hve them. They are very sturdy and well used. They seem to take the more extreme temps I wrongfully work with.I know not to turn up the flame so high, one day I shall learn, though I do not think it will be with these melting.Unlike every other brand I have used and cripsed in the past. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Silpat
These mats are nice, but they don't work as well as Silpat. They are just as non-stick, but they will stain more than Silpat do --- mine has brown stains where cookies once burnt, whereas my Silpat doesn't.And Silpat isn't even that much more expensive if you use froogle or look at their website for wholesalers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Just wish there were more sizes!
This is a great tool - really reduces cleaning time and the agony of cookies or other items that could stick to the pan.I've have no problems using it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Wow, where did I go wrong???
I used the Matfer sheet for a pizza crust but didn't have it more than 5 minutes in the approx. 400 degree oven before a horrible smell filled the apartment and the smoke alarms began shrieking. This was a brand new sheet, so there was no residual grease on this matt, as one suggested to another experiencing this problem.

A few others with the problem also seem to be in an apartment, so perhaps the smell is better tolerated or not as noticeable in a larger house?Or did a bunch of us get defective sheets?Until I'd find out, I couldn't recommend this product. ... Read more
