Doesn't make good toast?Oh, please...
I'm the ultimate kitchen fanatic.A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and sometime professional chef, I know and want for myself the very best products that I can find.The Dualit definitely qualifies in that category.I've used one in my home for many years.When I was burgled recently, the toaster was one of the items taken.A thief with good taste!

The poor babies who complain that they cannot make good toast with a Dualit either have defective machines (rare, but all things are possible) or they are hopelessly inept.Week after week I produce slice after slice of perfect, evenly browned toast.

The Dualit is a superbly engineered, wonderfully crafted simple machine.It does precisely what you ask it to do; nothing more, nothing less.

If you have an appreciation for genuine quality and a palate that enjoys nicely toasted bread, this is the toaster you want.

Fine Toaster With OneFlaw
This is a beautifully constructed and carefully assembled toaster, radiating quality. The design has many desireable features but, in my opinion, one serious shortcoming. When one pays over $200 for a toaster of bread, even one disappointment is one too many.

Simply, the toasting pocket, including the movement [depth] of the lowering device, is slightly too small. The first piece of bread I tried, a slice of Jewish rye, didn't quite fit. A half inch longer, wider and deeper would make this toaster perfect.

In particular, the width is too narrow to really warm most sandwiches, barely accomodating the two slices of bread, nevermind anything in between more than a couple slices of cheese, etc. I bought the sandwich rack but, now, I expect not to get much use from it.

But, to be fully honest, if the bread fits within [4-1/2 in x 4-1/2 in], the toast is marvelous.

SMALLER THAN ANTICIPATED
There is no description regarding the size of this grill.From the picture you can easily confuse it with the grill that fits four burgers.This one is half the size.Something should be said in the description.I didn't know George made SO MANY grills.

When reviewing any product, it's important to do so objectivly.
Wherin purchasing this product off Amazon.com, I felt obliged to point out its successes, and shortcomings.

Being a grill, it was obviously excellent at cooking a wide range of meats and fish. All with exceptional and tasty results.
It really did cut the fat off all the food I cooked on it, leaving a flavoursome, healthy meal.

Unfortunatly, one wednesday afternoon, upon trying to spark up a little light conversation with the grill, I found that it is either mute, or undeniably rude.
Accepting this as a large shortcoming, I attempted to juice some brown lemons on it's pointy corners to make my own patented "Mega-Lemon juice", with little success.
Moving on I felt the only option was to open the grill, and place it carefully over my head, to use as shield from rain, sleet other nasty weather elements.
Whilst it did keep me cool when "out and about", the effectivness of the rain guards, is well, discourging.

Later on in the week when my Niece came to see me for a visit, I immediatly challenged her to a game of "George Foreman GR10ABWI Champ Grill", even though I had been familiar with the grill for upwards of four days prior, my niece won almost every round, AND the playoffs, indicating that beginners luck may still be an issue with this product.

I'm left torn regarding my opinin of the product.

Shazam! Easy Peasy Squeezy Cheesey Peas in Minutes!
'BAM!', that was my first response! I was pleased to be writing this review because the Foremangrill is life changing. My elder sister, Inga Bosse Per Magnusson (she is not married, my mother says she is a kellinke, and my fater argues that no man would want a woman with a face like an overripe stilton) bought me this gift to celebrate Jul, which is the real Christmas, as you Americans call it. Ho ho ho!

This Foremangrill was wonderful. Even with it still in its fancy colourful packaging, it managed to cook not one, but two sallete eggs on top! Take that, cheap competitors! Out of the box, it's grilling performances astound even more. On it, I cooked strips of beef, chicken, rabbit, elk, seal and even whale blubber. Some people say it will even cook vegetables.

Every night, I rush to be with my Foremangrill. While I prepare a freshly uncooked meal of gravadlax, seal blubber and kelp, I warm my buns on top! What a great idea. Here in Iceland it's cold all year round, and we're still pretty dark. I love resting my buns on top to gently warm them!

It is not all good though! Many people say that you can cook everything on the Foremangrill, and would shout YAHTZEE at the top of their happy lungs, but you mustn't listen! No! I ruined my best pair of shorts when I tried to cook my Salkjot Og Baunir! Nanna said, "Put the peas in a large pan and add water. Bring to the boil, skim, then add thyme and onion. Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes". You would love to see the mess when I added water! Ha!

Nanna, "Tradition says you should eat as much (especially meat) as you possibly can, until you are about to burst. The reason for this is of course that in the old days, you would have been preparing for seven meatless weeks, so you better pig out". I love pigging out with my Foremangrill! The best cooking device next to a flux capacitor!

Buy one for your significant other!!!
I bought one as an X-mas gift for an ex-girlfriend that I have a rocky friendship with and now she cooks up good stuff for me all the time!It makes hanging out with her a lot more enjoyable, and she freaked out about the color and it gave her an excuse to deocrate her whole kitchen pink and white.If you gave one of these to your current ladyfriend I bet that you would reap the benefits multiple times a day for a very long time.

It was a very very high quality product and I will look to the KitchenAid brand first whenever I have to buy kitchenwares/appliances in the future.Great color selections, great quality, very good power.

Great essential for the baker in your life....you!
I love the mixer's power, capacity and ease of use. It makes even garlic mashed potatoes heavenly. I selected a black model to match my Viking kitchens without realizing the color would need more frequent cleaning. If you use this mixer every day buy a cover or another color to save time.

Fantastic!
I got this mixer about a month ago. I've wanted one for years, but always talked myself out of it (too expensive, too big, etc.) After finding a great deal here on Amazon, I finally caved in and let me say, I'm glad I did. I love this mixer! I was worried I wouldn't use it very much, since I already have a very nice bread machine (a "Zo"). I find that I'm using it all the time though. It really is like having an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. Cookie dough is so much easier. I'm also making bread with it constantly. It's just so simple to throw the ingredients in the mixer and let it do all the kneading. I've been making fresh bread and bagels every week and it's been no hassle. It handles the dough very well and stays put. It's a big heavy machine. The only problem I was having with it was I was finding it very difficult to remove the bowl to clean it after I was done mixing something. My husband suggested rubbing some vaseline on the bottom edge and that has solved the problem completely. Now I can pop the bowl off with one hand. Anyway, if you've been wanting one of these and if you like to bake at all, do youself a favor and get one. You will be amazed at how much easier it will make your life. The perfect size
This oven is the perfect size for most people. I cook a great deal from the Cook's Illustrated Soups and Stews book and have found nothing except stock that I cannot make in this oven. Everything just fits in for an even, controlled cooking process.

This pot also fits nicely on one burner. This means after you get your food going you can slide it to the back burner to simmer leaving all your other burners open for other work. This is a great contrast to Le Creuset's larger pans, especially the 7-1/2 quart soup pot that winds up taking three of your four burners out of action. The pan also fits nicely on a refrigerator shelf, letting you cook a day in advance and then easily reheat when you are ready.

You already know from the other reviews how well this pot does pot roast, chicken, etc; as well as how easily it cleans up. Le Creuset is expensive but this pot is well worth the price. It is the Dutch Oven you will use for a lifetime.

Serious Cookware
Le Creuset has a line of cookware for serious cooks. I've had my dutch oven for 18 years and still use it at least 3 times a week. It is superb for slow cooking: braising, simmering and oven baking. It's easy to clean and still looks lovely after all these years.

I use it for cooking tough cuts of meats. I braise them on top of the stove, then cover the dutch oven and slow cook it for hours. The results are outstanding everytime.

It's very heavy, which is why it is so successful in sealing in juices. I considered buying the whole line, but quickly realised that only key pieces, like this dutch oven are really needed.

Is it worth the price? Yes... for anyone who enjoys old fashioned braising and stewing, this is the one piece I recommend you buy.

5 Stars for the first 5 years of heavy use only
When I was ready to lay down the $500.00 I had saved to purchase cookware that would last a life time; I researched heavily and decided on Le Creuset.$500.00 is a lot of money and I was more than willing to sacrifice it after I saw that this stuff had a life time warranty.Well 5 years later I am able to use only 4 pieces out of the 6 piece set that I purchased.I'm guessing from heavy use, as I thought it so wonderful, easy to clean etc..., the porcelain lining has begun to chip severly.I mean at least 70% of the surface is flaking off on the bottom of the pots.The flaking occurred suddenly when I was cooking and the pieces got in the food.
I attempted to resolve this under the life time warranty but got the complete run around. If I could get the enamel off I'm sure I'd have some great cast iron pots. ... Read more

Initially satisfied; downhill from there
I purchased this handsome can opener in June 2004.Feels & looks substantial and promising.It worked ok for a couple of months, and now it's useless.I'll return to using my zyliss opener, and throw this in the trash.

Kitchenaid can opener
It's hard for me to get excited about kitchen products, but I adore this can opener!

When I make spaghetti sauce I use a lot of tomato sauce and tomato paste. My other can openers frustrate me as they catch, and I have to press down hard to latch onto it. After opening all those cans I'm not frustrated with this opener nor are my hands sore with grip marks from pressing down hard.

This is a smooth cut all the way around without a lot of pressure. The weight of the product helps too!! I love it!

I have very long nails, and the turning knob doesn't catch them as it's very large.

I don't know what took me so long to purchase this! Maybe the $15 was too daunting a number for a manual can opener????

I'm very pleased I bought this item. The same day I bought a kitchen aid whisk. It works better then my pampered cheif whisk that I had thought was the bomb!

I've finally discovered what it means to USE kitchenaid, and it's not often I get excited over little kitchen gadgets. Diamonds on the other hand........ lol

Fiestaware items are objects of beauty that I have found to be virtually indestructible.I have them at my house, and I worked for an upscale wine bar and restaurant that used them for everything...any pretty plate that survives heavy restaurant use is great in my book!And what fantastic colors for food presentation...

GREAT INFORMAL SET
We bought these because they were on sale, and it's hard to find black.At the start, they were suppossed to be temporary.
Then we bought extra plates, because we'd fallen in love with them.Not only are they classy and match the decor, but these are tough.I'm a klutz, and these bowls bounce right off of the floor, nothing broken yet, and coming up to a year.
My only complaint is the small size of the cups, and I about never use the saucers, but that's a matter of taste, and there are other sets available.

These Pedestal Bowls Are Awesome!
As a collector, I bought 6 of these Plum Pedestal Bowls about a year ago. They were ridiculously cheap, too good of a price to pass up. They all came in their original boxes, glaze color on all was beautiful and even. Perfect Examples, all 6 of them. Sometimes the glazing is not good, as in the review above, the item should be returned if the buyer is not happy. These make excellent fruit bowls for the counter, or even serving bowls for meals. You cannot beat the free shipping from Amazon! Highly recommend ordering from them, they can't be beat! Thanks Amazon!

A Great Everything Bowl!!
I love this bowl! It's the first bowl that I reach for when I am preparing something in the kitchen.It looks great and is big enough to serve dips, salads, etc in.It was my first Fiestaware piece and I am hooked.The collection has been growing steadily ever since :) Very easy to clean and quite durable, No chips or scratches yet and I am not the most careful cook. A great piece at an incredible price!

Good gravy!
Well, I never thought I'd own a gravy boat, but here I am! Owning a gravy boat. As gravy boats go, it just sits in the cupboard and takes up space unless it's Thanksgiving or Christmas or I feel like cooking a turkey (Ha!). But it's very nice, easy to hold even when it's filled with hot gravy, and it holds a lot. Much easier to clean than any of those fancy metal ones.

Cobalt Blue
I purchased this in Cobalt Blue. It goes with my Fiestaware dishes, as well as my Pzaltsgraf and Longerberger Pottery. I also agree that the color and glaze are beautiful, and much nicer in person than online. It has a large capacity, and pleasing lines. I'll most likely purchase an additional one in another color for larger holiday meals, to be able to use more than one.

Buy two........
I first bought this one in a light yellow and have used it weekly for some ten years for everything from gravy to syrup, to a large creamer for winter mornings when we eat more hot cereal and use more cream. I have even used it in the microwave to melt butter for ghee (India clarified butter).

The handle is a nice size for either a childs hand or a mans.It has a nice non tip balance for passing to the next person and is easy to clean because the inside is smooth and doesn't have any catch the crude areas.

I have since bought a second one in the sea mist colour.The colours by the way are even and beautiful and in my opinion are much prettier than and Ad picture shows......... ... Read more

AFFORDABLE, PRACTICAL AND APPRECIATED SHOWER GIFT
It can sometimes be difficult to choose an appropriate shower gift, especially if you don't know the recipient's preferences very well.Happy to say that this set is something every young bride will need.We've given it several times, and it has always been most appreciated.

Our experience with it has been very positive.At this point all of our cookware is nonstick so we appreciate using these utensils with it as well as the fact that they are almost heat resistant.(We've left the ladle in a pot of simmering soup without any problems).
