1-0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous product
I bought this corkscrew for my mom after I read some reviews of how revolutionary it was. She opened it and loved it right off the bat. Then, after less than a month, it stopped working. What happens is the little cap that covers the top of metal screw itself pops off as soon as you push down on the handle so the corkscrew just pops out of the top instead of going into the cork. It happens with all types of corks and with any pressure. So this ridiculous $50 corkscrew (at the time i bought it) is completely useless! (unless you want to pay an additional $10 for a replacement. Thanks but no thanks!)

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product design
I received the 'Rabbit' wine bottle opener as a gift from my sister. Its the best bottle opener I have ever used! We had tried many different openers but none performed like the 'Rabbit', which is a pleasure to use. I have arthritis in my hands & prior to using the 'Rabbit' opening a bottle of wine had been challenging. I highly recommend this product to all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Easy to Use
I got one of these for Christmas and used it for the first time on New Year's Eve. It works exactly as described. I was surprised at how easy it was to use. ... Read more

If you find yourself with aching-hand syndrome from using the trusty old can opener in your kitchen junk drawer, know that better days are ahead. The pinioned arm and steel guide of this Italian-made opener comfortably provide strength and dexterity to any user. The stainless-steel teeth and blade securely attach and easily detach for cans of all sizes. And almost as important: it's attractive enough that you don't have to hide it when guests arrive. This is high quality in a handsome package. --Sharon Anderson-Morris ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Attractive but flawed...
I have only had this for a few months... I seem to go through alot of can openers as they seem to stop working in any effective way shortly after purchase. This one isn't working all that well at this point.

First design:It's quite attractive and would look nice in a stainless steel kitchen and does clean up will in a dishwasher. However, I don't see this as ergonomic. It has never felt all that comfortable to use and hold to me.Either the handles or the turn mechanism. To me it's a bit clumsy to use and attach to the can.

The longer I have used it the more prone it as gotten to not *attaching* well to the can and sliping off...or tuning and not cutting off the can lid.I think that this can opener has gotten less-sharp faster than most others.

On the plus side it doesn't have a plasic sheath over the handles that collect water and it is attractive. If you do not use alot of canned products perhaps this would be an okay alternative.Or perhaps as part of a gift basket, but even than, I tend to think that this would be non-working to fast to be a good gift.

While there are plusses to this unit I think there are too many minus' to reccommend this unit.

1-0 out of 5 stars doesn't last
as most reviews here have stated, this product works well for a while, but due to poor design (it uses plastic for the gears), it eventually begins slipping and is rendered useless.

a very poor product indeed.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pedrini Ergo Can Opener
Our canopener worked great at first, but in less than 1 year the bearings wore out and the opener was difficult to use. The opener then broke in half at the handle hinge. I assume that this was because the opener did not cut the can very well in turn placing too much pressure on the handle. The most upsetting thing of all is how Target the store I purchased the opener from handled the attempt to return. They acted as though they knew nothing about the product and said I would have to settle with the manufacturer. What happened to customer service. ... Read more

The four measuring spoons contained within this set (1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon) are made of sturdy stainless steel, with easy-to-read labels on each handle. Impeccably weighted, with long, comfortable handles, these spoons are easy to hold steady while measuring. The spoons are well-rounded, so liquid measures are unlikely to splash out and scooping even hard, dry ingredients is unproblematic. A kitchen essential, these measuring spoons are durable enough to last a long time. --Amanda Powter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars the best set of measuring spoons for your money
How many measuring spoons do you need in a set? Just four.

After reading all the positive reviews, I bought this set on Amazon.com six months ago. The spoons are sturdy and heavy-set, with their curvature perfectly shaped to measure both dry and wet ingredients. Unlike ones made of plastic or aluminum, the stainless steel construction makes the measured ingredients slide right off without leaving messy residues. Also, its stream-lined design makes its cleanup a breeze.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good set of spoons.
For many years I have been working with inferior spoons. I had mostly plastic sets and Aluminum ones (I think they were aluminum). Boy was I glad to get this set. The spoons are really well made. First of all, they're heavy and not flimsy like those plastic or aluminum ones (which feel like they'll break at anytime). Secondly, I haven't been able to tarnish these spoons (Unlike my plastic set that was stained pretty badly). I recommend this set to anyone who had to go through life using those flimsy, inferior spoons.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, high quality
These are well-made spoons, not junky at all, which is always a possibility with cheap, mail-order items of this type. The steel is heavy-gauge, and all the edges are rounded and safe.Good value and a good way to "top up" an order. ... Read more

Orange-X Large-Size Commercial Juicer, White
by Orange-X
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars
Kitchen
list price: $159.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

Editorial Review

This machine will force you to take oranges and grapefruit more seriously. The ultra-heavy construction comes from a mechanism designed to get almost every last drop of juice (the last few drops would come from the rind and be bitter) out of a halved citrus fruit. The column and juice extractor are stainless steel; the U-shaped foot and mechanism are made of enameled steel. The handle is 14 inches long with a large rubber grip; no problem using plenty of force--the design ensures you'll need relatively little force at all. Some people will find this gadget hard to lift, though. Use this for the quick and efficient juicing of large quantities of fruit. The juice extractor detaches easily for cleaning. --Richard Farr ... 1-0 out of 5 stars You will never get it
I waited six months for the item and never got it.Go elsewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heavy but good!
This is a wonderful juicer. It's big and heavy, but for juicing oranges and other fruit, it's wonderful. I tried the Metrokane juicers (don't bother, they all broke) and I don't think anything could destroy this baby. I'm very happy with it.It's easy to use, but sits tall on the counter.

1-0 out of 5 stars Paint particles -- part of a balanced diet?
This machine is built like a Russian tank - what it lacks in finesse it tries to make up for in sheer bulk. But the massive, retro-industrial design is not enough to earn a place on your countertop. My juicer arrived with several dings in the paint. The stainless steel dome that the fruit is crushed on had a black greasy substance on the underside. It took a lot of scouring to get rid of this material of unknown toxicity. The shape of the squeezing surfaces is conical rather than hemispherical. The effect of this is that the discarded rind always includes some unsqueezed pulp. But the worst feature of the unit I received is that two of the painted surfaces of the mechanism rub against each other during use causing a fine powder of paint flecks to fall into the juice. The toxicity of these paint flecks is unknown to me but I sure don't want to ingest them. It's going back. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Bandleader and inventor Fred Waring introduced the firstblender in 1936; more than 60 years later the Waring blender remainsthe standard for the field. With this stainless-steel, black barblender, the company has captured perfectly the sleek, modern look ofits first models. The perfect cocktail party appliance, it doesn't justlook good but has a strong, efficient (though slightly noisy) motorthat zips through ice and frozen strawberries. The metal keeps drinkscold longer, too. The blade is nondetachable, so you never need toworry about the seal deteriorating. The stainless-steel container isalso perfect for a classic diner-style milkshake. --Maria Dolan

Editor's Choice:Waring's professional bar blender only has twospeeds, high and low, and it doesn't need any more, which is why it'sour choice for best blender over $100. This 350-watt blender is reallyfor professional bartenders, but it's also a dream for the home userthat plans on blending often, or on blending a lot of ice or frozendrinks. The blades are stainless steel, as is the 32-ounce jug. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Second to None
I've had this blender for over a year now, and wow! It's the best, period. It blends anything; no matter how frozen. It has also proven it self to be the most durable blender I've ever owned.I am a bodybuilder, so I use it to blend protein shakes 2-3 times a day.

Like people have said...it is very load. However, that's not an issue to me.Also, it's easier to clean rigth away.Simply fill with some water, add a drop of soap, blend, rise, and you're done.

3-0 out of 5 stars A top name in blenders, but has some flaws
With Waring on the product you know you're buying quality. This is a well built blender with a motor that feels like it could start your car.It is easy to clean and will crush/blend/pulverize anything you throw at it.
The downside, you cant see what you blending or how well mixed it is.The metal carafe is very durable, but I wish it had a pyrex or glass one instead.
The lack of more speed settings is also a bit irksome... but pulsing can obtain the same results.

1-0 out of 5 stars Too small
This is a handsome product and is undoubtedly a good blender, but it should be noted that it is considerably smaller than most blenders. It is described as having a 32 oz container, but it will only blend 24 oz, about half of a standard KitchenAid. A more accurate representation of its functional capacity would have kept me from mistakenly ordering it. ... Read more

Drop a dime into the jukebox, press F2 for Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill," and dreamily drift back to the '50s, when bobbysoxers and guys with ducktails or wearing white bucks (never, ever both) idled away after-school hours at the local drugstore's soda fountain sipping chocolate malts that had been churned to a smooth, frothy consistency by a mixer exactly like this one. Hamilton Beach's drink mixers began appearing at soda fountains in 1911; this 14-1/2-inch-high, 70-watt model, in creamy green, recalls Elvis's first decade. But it's 21st-century, too, blending fruit smoothies and health drinks as well as milk shakes and malted milks. Also use it to mix puddings and beat eggs for omelets. Two speeds offer mixing flexibility, and the tilting head makes it easy to remove the spindle for cleaning. Its professional-style, stainless-steel cup holds 28 ounces and is dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Hamilton Beach - Shame on you!
The Hamilton Beach 730C Classic DrinkMaster is a complete waste of money! It is not sturdy or powerful enough to make a milkshake - at least one that actually contains ice cream! It doesn't mix anything! What a waste!By the Oster instead or go to a garage sale and get the real thing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Weak motor - burned out
In less than one month of light use, this item self-destructed.Weak motor, that burned out only trying to mix icecream drinks.Save your money.Buy the Braun handheld instead!!!Strong motor, and much more versatile too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid construction. Will last forever!
Don't waste your time on cheaper brands. This shaker will stand the test of time.Unlike other reviewers, my shaker is not too tight at all, though I imagine freezing it would make it hard to pull apart. You can't go wrong here.ZH

4-0 out of 5 stars Great shaker with "Super" tight strainer/lid...
I really like this shaker but wow that shaker is really in place!I suppose it's a pretty good thing too because I have used other shakers and while shaking up the mix the top went flying and the icky-sticky stuff took a trip around the room.I use mine mostly for making Margarita's.I love that you can keep it in the freezer after cleaning so that it's nice and frosty when you are ready to use it.But........you better work out those fingers and hands cuz brother that lid is tight! I've found the best way for me to loosen it's grip is to hold with one hand and slightly twist with the other while pushing up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Shaker
I like this a lot.It is very compact and easy to use. I like the built in ice strainer. You just slip off the cap and pour. No hassles of the top jamming and having to beat it open with a knife. You will need a finer strainer if you want to filter out citrus pulp, for example. But for most cocktails you are just straining out the ice. But I like this one for it's convenience. ... Read more
