Editorial Review

KitchenAid's Artisan stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 325 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solidly constructed and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing about 15 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball, this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off. --Betsy Danheim

From the Manufacturer

The Artisan mixer's strong 325-watt motor delivers the power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily.

The 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable.

Unique Mixing Action

The beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise; moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. This unique mixing action creates a thorough blend of ingredients and eliminates the need to rotate the bowl.

Multiple Speeds

10 speeds allow the user to select the right speed for the mixing job; from very high to very slow stir. It's easy to select the precise speed needed for a perfect mix.

Versatile Accessories

The flat beater, dough hook, and the professional wire whip add to the versatility of the mixer. The flat beater is the ideal accessory for mixing normal to heavy batters. From cake mixes to firm cookie dough, the flat beater mixes quickly and thoroughly.

The dough hook mixes and kneads yeast dough, saving both time and the effort of hand-kneading. The wire whip incorporates the maximum amount of air in whipped mixtures for fluffier whipped cream and angel food cakes.

All attachments are solidly constructed, and attach easily to the stand mixer.

Easy Clean Up

The pouring shield fits around the top of the bowl and prevents ingredient splash-out. The chute makes it convenient and easy to add ingredients.

The tilt-back mixer head allows for easy access to bowl and beaters. A lock lever holds the mixer head securely in place and the bowl fastens tightly to the base.

Optional Attachments

Optional attachments (sold separately) complete the package to make cooking a pleasure. From citrus juicer to sausage stuffer, KitchenAid stand mixers can handle just about any job in the kitchen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great essential for the baker in your life....you!
I love the mixer's power, capacity and ease of use. It makes even garlic mashed potatoes heavenly. I selected a black model to match my Viking kitchens without realizing the color would need more frequent cleaning. If you use this mixer every day buy a cover or another color to save time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I got this mixer about a month ago. I've wanted one for years, but always talked myself out of it (too expensive, too big, etc.) After finding a great deal here on Amazon, I finally caved in and let me say, I'm glad I did. I love this mixer! I was worried I wouldn't use it very much, since I already have a very nice bread machine (a "Zo"). I find that I'm using it all the time though. It really is like having an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. Cookie dough is so much easier. I'm also making bread with it constantly. It's just so simple to throw the ingredients in the mixer and let it do all the kneading. I've been making fresh bread and bagels every week and it's been no hassle. It handles the dough very well and stays put. It's a big heavy machine. The only problem I was having with it was I was finding it very difficult to remove the bowl to clean it after I was done mixing something. My husband suggested rubbing some vaseline on the bottom edge and that has solved the problem completely. Now I can pop the bowl off with one hand. Anyway, if you've been wanting one of these and if you like to bake at all, do youself a favor and get one. You will be amazed at how much easier it will make your life. I only wish I'd gotten one years ago!

5-0 out of 5 stars Ivan must like Belgian Waffles too...
Well....my wife of 14 years finally found out about my girlfriend of 13 years and my 7 children with said girlfriend.
She didn't take the news very well, cried, yelled at me, smacked me, then packed up all of her stuff.
She informed me that she had found out about the affair and now had met someone else herself, a Russian Dancer named Ivan Karkov. He came over, punched me in the face, and then helped her move all of her things into a van. And off they went.

As sad as I was to see my wife leave, I was even more sad to see our KitchenAid Mixer leaving. It was the secret to perfect Belgian Waffles that my wife would make for me when I actually spent the night there and wasn't "Busy working at Uncle Joey's Mashed Potato Bar".

I didn't know where I would get a mixer like this, I only shop at Old Navy, Home Depot, and Sam Goody. None of those places had them . (I looked.)
I didn't think I would ever be able to replace my Mixer as easy as I replaced my wife one year into our marriage! So, I asked my girlfriend and mother of my 7 children if she knew where to get a Kitchenaid Mixer. She said she buys all her kitchen needs on Amazon. OF COURSE! I didn't even think of it, maybe it's because all I can think of is some sweaty russian dancer touching my first love.....but, I did go buy one.
I finally got a new one and my Belgian Waffle breakfasts are back! Hooray!

Guess I didn't need my wife after all.... ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I also have the light batter lifted up the blade problem.
I got this food processor because I want to make fresh pasta. My KitchenAid 275w mixer broke when I first time make pasta. I did research online and found use food processor it the way to go. But when I use the Cuisinart DL-2011 Prep 11 food processor I had problem with the blade keep lifted up. It damamge one of my bowl. But as the machine it is powerful enough. Their engineer need to think of away to improve this problem. I still have my food processor. But I don't use for dough knead now day. Just use chop food. I bough a new KitchenAid mixer with 375w power for dough knead (still not strong enough since pasta dough are dryer then the bread dough. I got it because costco carry it with lower price. I mix a little bit then use my hand to knead it. I wish there is a better choice for the pasta dough knead.) So if you want to buy this food processor thinking that you want to knead dough I will subjust you don't buy it and if you want this just for food chopping this is too expensive and over powered.

2-0 out of 5 stars long term use limited
This product was great in the beginning. However, over 2 years it has fallen apart. The plastic parts have come apart. I am forced to reassemble each time and hold it "just so' for it to work. Replacing the plastic lid...well over $100. Also, the button covers have eroded.I'm trying Kitchen Aid next time. P.S. All pieces were hand washed; never in a dishwasher.

4-0 out of 5 stars Indispensible kitchen appliance
I have used cuisinart food processors for 30 years. The service and reliablilty was far better with the original 7 cup capcacity cuisinart.Mine worked great for over 15 years. When I sent it back for repair, they replaced it with a new one.I now own 3, this 11 cup model, the 14 cup, and a mini prep.I rarely if ever use my mixmaster.I use it for everything from coleslaw to cheesecake(in the 14 cup model) With the exception of whipped cream merange(sp?), and souffles, this machine can do anything. It makes quick work of everything from slicing several onions for onion soup to chopping meat for fillings. I use the french fry disk for jullienes(sp?), because the julliene disk cuts the veggies too thin.I make pie crusts and pastry dough very succesfully with the knife.Pureed vegetable soups are smooth and delicious.I prepare recipes that would be impossible without this processor.I wouldn't be without it. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service from the new owner of the company doesn't compare to the service from the original company. ... Read more

Tough polypropylene handles with full, visible tangs and thetraditional three rivets distinguish Classic knives from Wüsthof'sother cutlery lines. Otherwise Classic knives are identical to otherWüsthof knives, embodying all the virtues that have earned theGerman manufacturer world renown. The principal parts of a Wüsthofknife--blade, bolster, and tang--are forged from a single piece ofhigh-carbon stainless steel, and the blade is precisely tapered frombolster to tip and from back to hand-honed edge. The blades andbeautifully formed bolsters are not as thick as on some knives. As aresult, despite their heft, strength, and durability, Wüsthofknives are pleasingly delicate and marvelously balanced in action.

This set equips a serious cook with nearly every cutting edgeimaginable--there are 14 kitchen knives and eight 4-1/2-inch steakknives--plus a 10-inch sharpening steel to keep their edges aligned, tough kitchen shears, a 6-inch serving fork, and a 25-slot oak block tostore everything on the counter within reach. The kitchen knivesinclude a 2-3/4-inch peeling knife, a 3-1/2-inch paring knife, a4-1/2-inch utility knife, a 5-inch tomato knife, a 5-inch boning knife, a9-inch bread knife, a 6-inch sandwich knife, a 7-inch flexible filletknife, a 5-inch cook's knife, a 6-inch cook's knife, an 8-inch cook'sknife, a 10-inch cook's knife, an 8-inch carving knife, and a 6-inchcleaver. 5-0 out of 5 stars Cutco redux
I own most of the knives in the set and use them daily. I also used Cutco extensively once upon a time when I was young and didn't know any better. All I can say is that anyone who can sit there and say that Cutco is in any way comparable in quality to Wusthof is either a Cutco salesperson or delusional. If you're not willing to take the extra minute per night to hand wash and properly steel a Wusthof (or any other fine forged blade), by all means, get the Cutco or K-Mart specials or whatever. Otherwise, comparisons are simply unfair. You need to use a Wusthof to fully appreciate the difference. I did, and I couldn't retire my old knives fast enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars Web Solicitors
Just to let you guys know, Cutco hires what they call "web solicitors" to hype up their products on sites like this. Also, Cutco is sold through demonstrations by Cutco salespeople only and these salespeople have an interest in bashing other knives on the net. Master Chef Wylie Dufresne told GQ magazine "I have plenty of friends whose parents have Cutco in a knife block. You pull them out and they're all as dull as can be." Norman Weinstein, a nationally recognized kitchen knife skills instructor was quoted by the Baltimore Sun newspaper as saying this about Cutco: "Why, why, would you buy such a knife?"

5-0 out of 5 stars Cutco?
Are you kidding me?To compare Cutco to Wusthof-Trident is like comparing a Chevy to a Mercedes-Benz.Wusthof Classic knives are forged and well balanced, prefered by professional chefs.Cutco knives are stamped and WAY overpriced, prefered by "country bumpkins" who bought them from their sons or daughters. Please take reviews praising Cutco with a grain of salt. They are most likely Cutco salesmen pushing their inferior product. Why else would they be mentioning Cutco on a site that does not even sell it? ... Editorial Review

The indispensable workhorse of any cutlery collection, a cook's knife performs a wide variety of cutting tasks, from fine chopping to dicing and slicing. The heavy 8-inch blade of this definitive model provides enough heft to allow the knife rather than the cook to do the cutting labor, but is more maneuverable than larger models. The length of the cutting edge makes quick work of all slicing jobs. If you don't yet own a cook's knife, or want the best investment for your dollar, this 8-inch model, which combines size with ease of use, is the one to choose.

Part of the Classic series, this knife represents two centuries of unexcelled Wüsthof craftsmanship. Like other cutlery in the series, it's hand-forged from a single piece of stainless steel for maximum strength; the hand-polished blade is exactingly calibrated to be hard enough to resist dulling yet soft enough to take a keen edge when it's honed or sharpened. Dishwasher-safe and with a traditionally shaped, ergonomically designed handle that is triple-riveted for durability, this knife brings a guaranteed lifetime of low-maintenance cutting to any cook who owns it. --Arthur Boehm ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Higly Used, High Quality
A chefs knife will be your most used Knife in your collection. Why would you want to pay a lot of money for one?Expensive, high quality knifes hold their edge (sharpness) longer. After almost 6 months of daily use, mine needed sharpened ($3 for a professional to sharpen it).You should also invest in a honing steel. This will not sharpen your knife, it will only realign the blade and keep it sharper longer.

Before you buy any knife though, feel it in your hand. The weight should be evenly balanced. You hold the knife with your hand wrapped around the handle, with your thumb and forefinger on the blade. This will feel weird at first, but you will have a lot of control.A knife that "feels right" to me, may not for you.

The first time I used this knife, I was amazed at how easy it cut through chicken. No sawing action was needed, just a gentle push.

Be wary of buying a knife set.The next most used knife you will own will be a paring knife. After these two knifes, the quality of the rest is not as important. Each knife should feel comfortable to you though.

After owning this knife for a year I also purchased a 10 inch ("wide" model) Wusthof Chefs knife.A longer blade means less work and faster chopping. The 8 inch now feels small to me ;)

A sharp knife is safer than a dull one.Be careful with your non cutting hand, I sliced my lower knuckle a few times when first using this.Hold the item you are cutting with your pinky (smallest) finger and thumb. The tips of your other fingers should be curled out of the way.The knife rests flat against your curled fingers.Go slow, you will eventually get the feel for it.

So, before investing in a high quality knife, try out different models and manufacturers. These knives will last a lifetime (and probably your children's).You will not be disappointed with Wusthof if you decide to buy these knives.

5-0 out of 5 stars No good cook should be without one of these
This review is principally for those who, like me, believe that you can get good quality without spending a lot of money, or who are just plain averse to spending a lot of money on anything.

If this describes you, and if you like to cook, I have this to say:Sometimes, you do have to spend money to get good quality.Or, for the really averse: Get over it.

A general-purpose knife is an essential tool for any cook. You can certainly get the job done with the cook's knives that come with the butcher-block sets you find in most stores for under $100--the ones with the polished stainless-steel blades or the serrated edges and the lifetime warranties. You may even find a set that includes a knife that makes cutting, slicing and chopping easy. But you will soon find that either your cook's knife can't keep a sharp edge or requires too much effort to cut things. In either case, you will soon find yourself looking for a new set of knives.

For the price of one of those butcher block sets, you can buy this knife instead. You won't regret it.One really good cook's knife, like this Wusthof, is worth all those other knives in your butcher block put together. The combination of excellent balance, weight and fine edge make chopping and slicing a breeze.(Another reviewer mentioned techniques that give you even more control of the knife.) And with proper care, this knife will give you a lifetime of pleasure in the kitchen.

Cook's knives are one product category where the costlier items are really the better values. The Wusthof Classic knife is worth every penny of the $120 suggested retail, which makes it a real bargain at Amazon.com's price of under $90.

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome
I've been reading about, & drooling over, various high end kitchen items for a few months: Le Creuset, Wusthof, etc. And reading all the consumer reviews. Recently, I finally sprang for a set of Wusthof knives that I got at a good price on one of the auction sites. So far, the only knife I've used is the 8" Classic chef's knife. After 20-30 years of using cra*ppy kitchen knives, this was.......like a revelation. It's easy to think all these rave reviews are somewhat hyperbole; but they're not. Comparing this knife to any of my old beat-up knives is like comparing a Porsche 911 Turbo to a 10 year old Hyundai. BTW, I sprang for the 10 pc. Classic set. I'm still not sure if that was a good idea, or if I should have just gotten the 8" chefs knife & saved a couple of hundred $$. But the thing is, if you want even 3 or 4 of the items in one of the sets, like the "big" oak block for instance, maybe the bread knife, or whatever, it really starts to add up (to a lot more) when you buy everything seperately. So, to me, just buying a big set to begin with made sense: even if you don't use all of the knives that much, you've got that cool carving knife for the one or 2 times a year you'll use it. But if you had to pick only one knife, probably the 8" chefs knife would be "it". ... Read more

To slice meats neatly and with ease, carving knives must have thin, narrow blades with flexible tips for negotiating a roast's bones. These qualities plus the 8-inch length of this fine slicer make it ideal for carving the largest cuts of meat and poultry. The pointed end aids in cutting and detaching slices as you work.

5-0 out of 5 stars Blunt instrument
This is how my 16-year old son describes his maternal grandmother's cutlery (I'm divorced). After this past St. Patrick's day, after he struggled with carving her famous shoe-leather corned beef, I showed him how to carve a properly-cooked one with my trusty Wusthof. He carved one perfect slice, turned to me, and said, "no fair". I took pity on him and got him one for himself. The food at Grandma's isn't any better but at least the slices are nice and pretty.
I guess my point is that if a kid who's pressed into carving a roast can notice a profound difference, it's a pretty sure bet you will too. It's not cheap, but it's money well spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Carving Knife
As a longtime knife collector, I've amassed a large assortment of knives, including over 40 from the Wüsthof-Trident Classic line. I own a few carving sets and an electric carving knife, but this Wüsthof Classic 8-Inch Carving Knife is my old stand-by for carving roasted meats, poultry, and game. The reason I prefer this carving knife over all others is that it holds its sharpened edge beautifully, and it has the perfect heft and balance for my hand. For specialty carving and slicing needs, however, I do use my Classic knives with the Küllenschliff edges, such as the ham, salmon, and roast beef slicers. When carving, I pinion the roast on the carving board with my straight carving fork, then slice alongside it, and use the knife tip to carve around bones and lift off the carved meat slices. I've found that this carving knife is ideal for all general purpose carving. It's very easy to keep it well sharpened by using Washita Arkansas whetstones and honing oil or by using a Chef's Choice 3-Stage Diamond Hone Professional Sharpener. Before each use, I always hone it with a honing steel. I hand wash and dry it, as I do with all my Wüsthof knives, and keep it stored in a wooden block.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Knife, But Do You Need It?
There are really two main competitors in the high-end mainstream kitchen knife market:Henckels and Wusthof. Those who have used both usually have a preference. My preference (and therefore bias you should know about) is for the Wusthofs.

The Wusthof Classic line is the more conservative counterpart to the Grand Prix line. The only difference, however, is the handle style.I personally prefer the Grand Prix, but this is an issue of personal preference. The balance and grip of these knives are as close to perfect as I have found. For those wondering what benefits a higher priced knife provides, one benefit is that the blade (or tang) is one piece all the way through the handle. This makes the blade much stronger, and less likely to snap.

This particular model, the 8 inch carving knife, is a good knife, but I find its uses to be few.For chopping, the chef's knife or utility knife are more useful. This knife is too long and thin for chopping; its balance isn't right. Therefore, this knife is really limited to carving meats. For most cooks, this is an expensive knife fora rare job.If you are completing your collection, I recommend this knife. If you are starting a collection and looking for an all-purpose knife, I would recommend the 8 inch chef's knife or the 4 ½ inch utility knife. ... The pronounced serration of this knife's blade is ideal for cutting through tough crusts without undue pressure. 5-0 out of 5 stars Usual High Quality from Wusthof
You can only slice crunchy crusts with a serrated blade. So obviously this is your best bet for slicing bread. But, I use my Wusthof Bread knife for cutting frozen meats and it works great for that too.
High quality steel ( x50 Cr Mo 15), high production standards. Comfortable, "familiar" Wusthof Classic 3 rivet handle construction, with a stiff backed forged blade with sturdy weight and balance for multiple uses in the kitchen.

This particular model, the 8 inch bread knife, is a great knife. Many people think tomatoes are the hardest food items to clearly cut.I think bread is much more difficult; but this knife makes the task seem easy.My only quibble is the length.I find the 9 inch bread knife to be a better length for most loaves of bread.

I recommend the Wusthof 8" bread knife, but I would try out the 8 inch and the 9 inch to see which you prefer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Useful bread knife
I am very happy with this knife. It is flexible enough for cutting a loaf of thick-crusted bread, and the serrations are still sharp after two years of constant use. No kitchen should be without it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The small size and sharp point of this paring knife make it ideal for handheld and other small or intricate cutting chores, such as vegetable peeling or mincing small amounts of parsley. An obligatory kitchen addition, this knife carries its weight mostly in its extremely comfortable handle, which allows you greater control.

5-0 out of 5 stars A superb knife
I received this paring knife (included in the course fee) when I took a Wusthof knife skills course at a local shop. It's everything a knife should be - sharp, solid, well-balanced, and a comfortable fit in the hand.Wusthof got the proportions of the classic-style handle about right; not too fine, not too chunky... just right for comfort and control. After the course I gave it to my mother, who was surprised at its sharpness.(I already owned a Henckels Pro-S 3" paring knife, which has a slightly longer handle... IMO the two knives are similar in quality.)

This is also the knife that inspired a friend who finally bought one to exclaim, "I'm surprised you didn't say, 'You call that a knife?????THIS is a knife!' when you were using my (old, stamped, serrated) knives!"She now understands my addiction to forged German steel.

As always, it's best to try several knives in person and see how they fit your hand before buying, but it would be hard to go wrong with this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wusthof Classic 3 1/2 inch paring knife
This is a great addition to any kitchen.I think it will last for the rest of my life!Soon I hopefully can add more of this brand to our kitchen.I highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality makes a difference
I've got a cheap-o chef's knife and I've got this little 3 1/2" Wüsthof paring knife. It's a testament to the quality of the Wüsthof that I'd rather use it, even for big knife jobs like chopping vegetables or cutting meat. The quality of the blade more than makes up for the lack in size. ... This tool serves a vital role in the kitchen by realigning, orresetting, a knifes' edges, which bend this way and that whencontacting a cutting surface. (Often called a sharpening steel, orbutcher steel, a steel doesn't actually sharpen a knife--unless it's adiamond steel.) Consisting of a rod of hard steel-alloy and a toughsynthetic handle, this steel works as well as any. A loop facilitateshanging it close at hand so the steel can be employed often: beforeeach use is ideal to prevent a blade from becoming dull and prolongintervals between professional sharpenings. The rule is that a steelshould be at least as long as the knife blade being drawn across it;this steel's 10-inch rod is sufficient for nearly all household knives. The steel carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --FredBrack ... 3-0 out of 5 stars almost perfect
This steel is just the right thing for honing blades right before using them (for more intensive sharpening use a stone).I only have a few objections:

- I own two steels, one obtained two years ago that doesn't have the washer-shaped metal guard between the handle and the shaft, and one obtained four years ago that does. The one that does has collected a lot of scratches on the guard. I can't help but wonder if hitting that metal has also hurt my blades.

- The wusthof logo is stamped onto the shaft, into the metal grooves, right where the tip of a blade passes. When honing a long blade I wind up holding the steel so that the blade doesn't hit the logo. (Those raised ridges can't possibly be good for the edge). But this means I only get to use half of the steel.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Steel, Wrong Price

However, when it comes to sharpening steels, I have found very little difference. As long as you buy a high end steel, you really won't go wrong. Therefore, I shop for this item on price, and Henckels has a price advantage.Unless you want a matching set, shop on price, and look to Henckels.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good knife needs a good steel
While there is no substitute for a knife sharpener, steeling your knives after every use (I do it when drying and putting away my knives), keeps the blades true and does allow you to go a little longer between sharpenings. If you're serious about cooking, you need a steel. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The bestseller among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections, the Stainless line provides serious and professional cooks all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between layers of stainless steel is a thick core of pure aluminum that spreads heat evenly across the bottoms of pots and pans and all the way up the sides. The interior is highly polished 18/10 stainless steel, so it's stick-resistant as well as stain- and corrosion-resistant. The exterior is made of gleaming, magnetic stainless steel that works on induction as well as conventional stovetops, and, with care, remains beautiful during this cookware's lifetime warranty against defects--and beyond.

This nine-piece set of Stainless cookware consists of a 10-inch fry pan with a layer of scratch-resistant, professional-grade nonstick coating bonded to the interior steel layer; a 2-quart covered saucepan; a 3-quart covered saucepan; a 3-quart covered sauté pan; and a 6-quart covered stockpot. Polished 18/10 stainless-steel pan and lid handles are riveted for strength and grooved on the top for comfort. Both the lids' handles and the pans' long handles (holed for hanging on hooks or pegs) stay cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat, although the nonstick pan should not be in an oven hotter than 400 degrees F. This Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended, and it's essential for the nonstick pan.--Fred Brack

From the Manufacturer
All-Clad Stainless Construction
Each piece of All-Clad cookware features a unique metal bonding construction. All-Clad Stainless cookware sandwiches a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless-steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless-steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware. The stainless interior is stick-resistant and cleans easily. The magnetic stainless-steel exterior gives the cookware a gleaming finish. All-Clad Stainless also features the company’s signature "stay-cool" long handles, lids fashioned from gleaming 18/10 stainless steel, and highly durable stainless-steel rivets. All-Clad Stainless cookware is one of five collections from All-Clad Metalcrafters. Designed to work on conventional gas and electric ranges, as well as induction cooktops, All-Clad Stainless cookware is the best-selling collection in a full line that includes All-Clad LTD, Cop-R-Chef, Master Chef 2, and Copper Core.

Features and Benefits
All-Clad pans with a stainless interior cooking surface are oven-safe up to 500 degrees. All-Clad pans with a non-stick cooking surface are oven-safe up to 400 degrees, but should not be used under the broiler. We recommend using a low to medium temperature when cooking with All-Clad. Higher heats are not necessary and may cause discoloration (see cleaning instructions below). Other features include:

  • Beautifully polished, magnetic stainless exterior layer.
  • Pure aluminum core that not only covers the bottom of the pan but also extends up the sides. This allows for great heat conductivity as well as an even heat distribution so you won’t have "hot spots" when cooking.
  • Stainless-steel interior layer/cooking surface.
  • Long, polished stainless, stay-cool handles.
  • Sturdy, non-corrosive stainless-steel rivets won't react with foods.
  • Polished stainless-steel lids fit evenly with the pan’s edges to seal in flavor of your foods.
  • The All-Clad Stainless collection is compatible with an induction stovetop (with the exception of a few pieces) in addition to gas and electric stovetops.
  • The Stainless collection is dishwasher-safe, excluding pieces with a nonstick cooking surface.

Warranty
From date of purchase, All-Clad guarantees to repair or replace any item found defective in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following care instructions. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse. Minor imperfections and slight color variations are normal.

Cleaning Instructions
For daily cleaning, warm soapy water is sufficient. Clean your All-Clad thoroughly after each use. Food films left of the pan may cause discoloration and sticking. To get rid of stuck-on food or discoloration and stains from using too high of a heat, we recommend cleaning your All-Clad with a product called Bar Keeper’s Friend. To use the Bar Keeper’s Friend, simply use a soft cloth or sponge and water and make into a soupy paste. This can be used on the interior, as well as the exterior of your All-Clad (excluding the Cop-R-Chef). The Bar Keeper’s Friend can also be used on the exterior of the All-Clad Stainless collection, LTD collection, and MC2 collection. For cleaning of the Cop-R-Chef exterior, simply use a brass/copper cleaner. If your water has a high iron content, you may notice a rusty discoloration. Use Bar Keeper’s Friend to remove it.

All-Clad Stainless Selection
In recent years, a professional-size 14-inch fry pan was added to the Stainless fry pan assortment, as well as several popular specialty pans, including: the small-size petite brasier with a dome-shaped lid; petite roti roasting pan; and the beautiful, large-capacity Dutch oven and French oven oval roasting pan with roasting rack. 5-0 out of 5 stars All Clad cookware, best on the market
I have used All-Clad since the early 1980's and consider it the very best, and best for the money, too, as it lasts forever, the company will simply replace any that you complain about (the LTD black surface wore off some after 15 years, which is why I switched to the stainless steel outside and inside and some copper outside versions (Copper Chef, by All-Clad Co.) and they sent a new one!).I have boiled over milk on high and it never scorched! The bottom of the pan was not even tan, much less any burned milk! That was a first for anypan for me!The Olympic Cooking Team uses these pans, by the way.And they look good on a rack, too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very sturdy, top notch cookware
I am very pleased with my set of All-Clad stainless cookware. The construction is superior to any other set I have ever owned. One of the nice things about the cookware is how cool the handles stay after being on the burner for an extended period of time. I was really surprised by that. I figured that since the handles were stainless steel they would get really hot but that is not the case. I have also found that the cookware heats up much more evenly than my old cookware. That really does help to reduce cooking time. While it may seem a bit pricey, this set should last many years if taken care of. My Mom always told me to buy the best quality item that I could and it will save money in the long run. She was right.....as usual. :-)If you love to cook you will enjoy this set. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Large Jobs
The All-Clad 12-Quart Stainless Multi Cooker is great for those LARGE jobs and when you don't want to be bothered by boil-overs. I use it when I'm canning peaches and for double and triple batches of soups. Perfect for lobsters, too.

I have just one complaint. I feel that the steamer basket could be a little bit bigger (deeper). Remember also, as with any large pot, washing it in a standard-size sink can be a bit of a hassle.

Nice Quality for a good price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Versitile
I picked this up a while back on sale at Amazon and have been very happy with it so far.I've been building up a kitchen full of All-Clad Cookware and swear by all of it because of its exceptional quality. This pot sort of really didnt fit in with everything else I have because of its massive capacity, but I couldnt resist it for the price. On occasion in the past I have cooked up a meal or two for a small group of people, mostly for parties or something special going on at my house or a neighborhood gathering.I found myself with the largest pot I had near overflowing and splattering its contents all over my kitchen. After getting this pot, I no longer have this problem.3 gallon capacity is quite ample for anything that I would attempt to pull off.I might even be able to deep fry a turkey in it.

The baskets included make it a great steamer/strainer for lobster or anything else that would have to be cooked whole.I even cooked up a huge batch of spagetti noodles with the large basket inserted and just pulled it to instantly drain.

Everything about it is impressive, I definately recommend picking one up!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for steaming
I hesitated to buy this because of a few negative reviews. I'm glad I changed my mind.I bought this a couple of years ago for my mother, who's Mexican-American, to simplify steaming tamales. She loved it!!!The lid fits perfectly and the weight on this pot is ideal, with most of the weight on the bottom for proper balance.Although it is significantly lighter than traditional All-Clad pots it is by no means a flimsy piece.A reviewer of the 16-quart sister (stock) pot was right-on when he mentioned that one only needs 3-ply on the bottom, not on the sides (for stocks). We've used it for clambakes too.Cleaning is a breeze.
Btw, I bought this on sale at a Friday-sale.www.amazon.com/fridaysale

The bestseller among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections, the Stainless line provides serious and professional cooks with all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. The exterior is gleaming, magnetic stainless steel that works on induction as well as conventional stovetops and, with care, will remain beautiful during this cookware's lifetime warranty against defects--and beyond. Certain pieces, like this one, have two interior layers, one of 18/10 stainless steel and the other of scratch-resistant, professional-grade nonstick bonded to the steel.

This rounded, woklike pan with a narrow, flat bottom makes clear why All-Clad's Stainless is so popular. It's 10 inches in diameter and 2-1/2 inches deep, perfect for stir-frying pad thai or asparagùs in black bean sauce on the stovetop. Its long, polished 18/10 stainless-steel handle is riveted to the pan for strength, grooved on the top and rounded on the bottom for comfort, and holed in the end for hanging on a hook or peg. Like the pan's helper handle, it stays cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. Although Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

4-0 out of 5 stars ALL-CLAD Stainless: Great pans--compromised handle design
(THIS REVIEW INTENDED FOR ALL-CLAD STAINLESS-NOT NONSTICK...saw no way to move it)

Count me among those complaining about the design of ALL-CLAD handles. They are apparently designed for a thumb-on-top grip that permits only lifting on a verticle axis parallel to the forearm. Any attempt to tilt or rotate the pan around this axis will result in a loss of control. Of course, anyone with very little hand strength wouldn't attempt such a maneuver in the first place. All-Clad makes a great product that's beautifully finished, but I'd like to see ALL-CLAD offer an alternate handle design alongside their standard one, and then let the market decide.

I'm not aware of any one pan from any quality manufacturer that gets it all right, as the various strengths of their designs are offered individually, rather than combined into a single design. For instance, most people who are really into cooking are aware that copper has great conductivity and uniform heating characteristics. It is also beautiful, if kept polished. However, that latter quality quickly becomes a liability if one isn't into polishing pans for display purposes, or would like the convenience of dishwasher cleaning. Nonstick of course has it's own set of attributes and liabilities.

IMHO, the ideal pan would be stainless inside and out, but with a sandwiched copper-cored bottom for more even heating and better heat retention. There is no need for a copper band to let our guests know that our pots are copper-cored. If I considered it important that they know, I could tell them after loading the dishwasher. I'd rather have copper's functional benefits than its cosmetic liabilities. In short, I'd rather have the utility, convenience and durability of stainless on all exterior surfaces. The only exception might be the lid. I'm partial to glass, but wary of possible breakage. Stainless is a much more forgiving material. Oh, and a handle than I can actually get a grip on would be fantastic!

5-0 out of 5 stars All-Clad Stainless Nonstick 10-Inch Open Stir Fry Pan
This is another great pan from All Clad. The nonstick surface is superb and the highly polished exterior is stunning. This size if perfect for cooking sausage and vinegar peppers or stir-fry for 2-4.Like all All Clad cookware this pan is very well made, heats evenly and comes with a lifetime warranty.I have never had to use it but from what I hear warranty replacement is a quick and easy task. The handle is easy to manage and it has a handy loop on the other side. The nonstick surface is great and it is very easy to clean.Top notch! Highly recommended!

2-0 out of 5 stars Good pan hobbled by terrible handle design
I bought this pan a few months ago, and its OK.It cooks nicely, but like all All-Clad, it suffers from a rather developmentally-challenged handle design. While the cookware itself it fabulous, the handles on all of the All-Clad cookware must have been designed by some sort of mad scientist. They are much too narrow relative to the size and weight of the pans to which they are attached, making them intrinsically unstable, and completely uncomfortable.

On this particular pan, the combination of a relatively short, thin handle and heavy, deep pan, makes it quite easy for the handle to rotate in your hand (even using a towel!), flipping the pan over. Its best not to try and toss this like you would a wok, because its quite possible the pan will flip over in your hand.

Leave it on the stove, though, and it heats beautifully, and the nonstick surface is the best I've ever had on a piece of cookware.A great pan for stir-frys for one or two.

I own three pieces of All-Clad now, and I want more, but I really, REALLY hope someone at the company will redesign the handles.SOON! ... Read more

Renowned worldwide for its cookware collections, All-Clad nowmakes kitchen tools, and that's welcome news to serious andprofessional cooks. The three in this gift set (packaged for wrapping)are perfect examples of the tools' professional-grade quality. They'remade of heavy, 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. Thehandles are the same famous design used for All-Clad cookware: groovedon the top and rounded on the bottom for comfort and holed in the endfor hanging on hook or peg. The set consists of two 12-1/2-inch servingspoons--one solid, the other slotted--and a 9-inch tongs. The spoons'heads are straight and angled so they can scrape the bottoms of pansand dishes, and the tongs lock for storage. Editorial Review

Pepper is universal. One of the civilization's oldest spices (along with its partner salt), it graces tables all over the world. When in a country where I don't speak the language and my soup needs a little pick-me-up, I just mime grinding pepper over it, and the waiter knows what I need. This wooden pepper grinder from Peugeot comes in a classic style, reminiscent of a rook from a chess set. To fill, unscrew the knob on top, remove the upper section, and pour in the peppercorns. How tightly the knob is screwed back on determines the grind. For a little variety, try a mix of black, green, and white peppercorns. Be sure to also check out the matching salt grinder. --Dana Van Nest ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth it
I am of the opinion that much of the Rosle line is overpriced.Their products are always of high quality, but many times, they do not work any better than utensils you can buy at Walmart. However, this is an example of how Rosle got it right. The whisk is very sturdy and easy to employ. And it incorporates lots of air into whipped cream and egg whites.

In the past, I used el cheapo whisks that tended to rust out and were never substantial enough to work very well.Never again.

5-0 out of 5 stars It will wisk you away......
This may look like a normal, everyday, whisk to the average Joe or Joette, but NO WAY my friends!!!
This whisk has a super grip that allows even the "less than nimble fingered" to slosh and wallop the toughest of batters.I find my obsession for the best of cooking utensils satisfied from this superior culinary tool and proclaim the truth as to it's mix o matic work ethic. Please, do yourself and your family a favor.Buy this Whisk.Life will never be the same, in, or out of the kitchen. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars It has a slot that can't be cleaned!
I bought this thinking it would be better than all the cheap supermarket spoon/spatulas.It is worse - the head is not sealed to the handle and batter / food / grease / whatever gets in the slot where the head and handle connect and is impossible to get out - soaking, dishwasher on heat boost - nothing works. Also, 400 deg limit is iffy when using on the stove - 600 deg limit is much better.Mine curled a bit when used on the stove, but since it had a permanent reservoir of filth, I tossed it anyway.Better to splurge on the ones from Pampered Chef.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect
This is a great kitchen tool...didnt know how helpful it would be until i got it.That it isnt metal and is heat safe to 400 degrees is wonderful!(there are some rated to higher temps, but for me this one has worked out great)

It is comfortable to use and easy to clean.Even when i have left it in a pan of scambled eggs and not cleaned it or a good while, i dont have to soak it to get any remaining *residue* off..

I have found the one with one rounded and one straight edge a bit better for *scraping* the sides of pans and bowls but that might just be apersonal preference as i have both.if i only had one i think i would get this one because it is better for mixing and almost as good for stirring hot pots.

a great value for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars The way it shoud be
The ultimate spatula. I have ordered several in this series, but this is the first that I have used. It is great. Even for non coated pots/pans, this utensil can get down to the fire and come out like new. A very impressive tool. It follows the contour of your pan without trying to scrape through to the burner, and makes it to the dishwasher unscathed. There are a few things that a steel spatula are needed for, but this gem will handle the rest of the tasks, while keeping all of your cookware looking like new. ... Read more

Le Creuset's brightly colored, virtually indestructiblesilicone spatulas created a buzz when they were first introduced. Nowthis set combines six white ones in a complementary stoneware storagecrock. Not only will these spatulas serve every cooking need, butthey'll add a splash of color to any kitchen. Durable, flexible, andstain-resistant, the spatulas endure incredible temperatures--800degrees F and 425 degrees C--without melting or discoloring. Thespatulas: one tapered, slotted spoon spatula (3-1/2 inches long and2-1/2 inches wide at its base); two solid spoon spatulas (3-1/2 inches by2-5/8 inches and 2-7/8 inches by 2-1/8 inches); and three scrapingspatulas of different widths (2 inches, 1-3/8 inches, and 1 inch). Thehandsome white crock stands 5-7/8 inches high, and its flared mouth is5 inches in diameter, providing plenty of room for tools other than thespatulas. 4-0 out of 5 stars You probably don't need all of these!
I bought this set about three years ago and I simply would not cook without them. I am as enthusiastic as other reviewers who have given this set five stars, except that I only really use two out of the six pieces.

If I had to do it over, I would buy the very attractive pot and three each of the medium sized spoonula and the small spatula. I simply do not use the others. They are gathering dust as we speak.

Now if your cooking is a bit different than mine, you may have different needs, but I cook or bake four or five times a week, and I simply do not use 2/3 of this set. And, it is only the spoonula which gets used in high heat environments.

For room temperatures, I often find more use for a spatula which is a lot stiffer than these silicone plastics.

I recommend you find some way of buying only the pot and six of the medium spoonulas! Even these wear out from small nicks and cuts over time, and you do not want to find yourself without one at hand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Starter Set
I bought this same set at an outlet mall (much better price, but same product).

They are very well built and have stood up to just about anything I can throw at them from heat to various sauces. They have never melted, scorched or stained so far! Even though they have wood handles, there is a protective finish that keeps them from staining. I did place one through the dishwasher (not recommended) and it came out fine too.

They have replaced all of my miscellaneous pieces I have had laying around and now I have an attractive addition to my kitchen as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait...
I saw this set in the blue on Amazon just before Christmas for the amazing price of $34.99. Knowing how much these normally are I quickly ordered them and was told they were on backorder and would be shipped to me when they were available. For that price, I would wait as long as it took to get them! I finally got them early February and they are worth the wait. I have used them everyday since receiving them and I wonder how I did without them. I wish I'd ordered my mother a set at the same time I ordered my set. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The first and last garlic press you will ever need!
The quality of this press is amazing. It is very easy to use and even easier to clean. You can not go wrong with this. A fine addition to any kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Garlic Press -- I've Tried Them All
This is by far the best garlic press out there.I've tried them all, and none comes close. It is strong, heavy, durable, easy to clean.I really couldn't ask for anything more and I've been using it for years. This item has even made me seek out and buy other Rosle products, which are of consistently high quality.

If you regularly use crushed garlic in your cooking, you need this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get the most out of your garlic clove
There are garlic presses and then there is the Rosle. Renders plump, firm cloves of garlic into a juicy, pulverized mass with a satisfying crunch that could only come from the mind of an obsessed German industrial designer. As beautiful as it is functional, the stainless steel press crushes so well, there is little pulp left to clean. What remains is removed easily with a soft-bristled toothbrush and some dish soap. Expensive, but likely the last garlic press you'll ever need to buy. ... Read more
