4-0 out of 5 stars "Reverse Table Technique" For Peeling Off Backing
1 star taken off because of the difficulty in peeling off the backing.

I would like to extend the "Table Technique" for peeling off the backing, mentioned earlier. The idea is to hold the label against a table, then scratch off the label at one of the edges.

While a useful technique, it has two problems: (1) the label curls upwards, so it is hard to hold the label edge against the table, and (2) scratching off the label will almost certainly damage the label.

Thus I would like to propose a novel extension to the "Table Technique", called the "Reverse Table Technique". It's exactly the same as the Table Technique, but you put the label *face down*. This eliminates the two problems: (1) the label curls downwards, so it remains flat against the table, and (2) scratching off the backing will damage the backing, which doesn't matter.

3-0 out of 5 stars What you should know before you buy
well the price of the unit is cheap but the label tape is expensive. it advances the tape more than necessary before and after the label which ends up being about an inch of wasted tape per label.

it can do two lines on the smallest text setting but aligns to the left side.

the labels can be hard to peel as there is no feature to help you peel them whatsover.

BIG plus as you can see its standard qwerty setup. it's easy to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars How do you rate a label maker?
It makes labels. It is easy to use.Oh, and it makes labels.

Great product, brings out the OCD freak in me when I have it in my hands. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible experience with my Visor...
I had the same problem that reviewer Mr. McCoy had.I recieved my Visor and it came with batteries.I turned it on and at some point during the setup process the Visor shut down. When I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't.Resets (soft and hard) did nothing.I changed out the batteries with brand new ones. The Visor came on and within half an hour, it shut down again. Not allowing the SAME batteries to be used.I went through 3 sets of brand new batteries and this happened every time. The longest my Visor has stayed on has been 30 minutes or less.

I also had a problem where I would turn it on and then turn it off.Once it was turned off, I couldn't use the same batteries again. It wouldn't turn back on until I used a new set.I have heard many many people have the same kind of issue with this and the best thing I can say, is listen to the people who are encountering this kind of problem. They are not alone with this issue!!There appears to be a flaw in a bulk amount of these Visors.

2-0 out of 5 stars Data Lost Twice; doesn't want it's batteries changed
I was so happy to see that I wasn't the only person who had problems with this device. I love it's capabilities, but have lost data twice: first time I received a change battery warning, so changed batteries, and zap! everything gone.Contacted Handspring, (what a messy website)and lots of words came back, but were they really listening? Second time, I decided to replace batteries long before they needed it, just in case. Data gone. I did the change very fast, less than a minute as advised. I want a refund/repair or new device, but can't really get through to them. I've cooled down somewhat (they depend on that, I imagine) but surprise! I'm buying a new PDA, and it won't be one of theirs! Here I am, researching other brands.

1-0 out of 5 stars Works great -- when it works at all
Bought mine in September, 2000, just a few months after it was released, so I believe I got one of the early versions. Wonderful product, at first. Had no problems and loved the external keyboard. But a few months later, something strange happened: I would turn it off (or it would shut down on its own), and when I turned it on again a few days later, the batteries would be dead! All information LOST. Batteries would have to be changed. This happened several times, and I finally contacted Handspring before the warranty was expired. Thankfully, they replaced my unit.

But it happened again. And again, and again, and again. The batteries did not go dead from overuse, rather something inside the unit continued to draw power even after it was supposed to be powered off. Not a good thing for those of us who synch infrequently!

After another year of this (and about a dozen batteries), I called Handspring and demanded they replace this with a different model, because this is clearly a design flaw. They wouldn't do anything. One year warranty, that's it. Done. No more soup for you! I guess they expect you to buy a new Visor every year!! Shouldn't this thing last me at least five????

I won't buy another Handspring. I won't even recommend them to other people. It's possible I got unlucky twice, but if the company isn't going to stand behind their product, I'll buy something else.

It may also be a lot to ask to have the product replaced outside of the warranty, but if this happens with every unit, shouldn't Handspring recognize there's a mistake and recall these units? ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Canon Elph 370Z
Small camera, very slimlined and easy to carry.I purchased refurbished and everything is working perfectly. I only wish the zoom was a little stronger, but overall an excellent camera.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great camera but beware of the "H"!
I bought this camera a little over 3 years ago when I was expecting my first baby.As you can imagine, I have taken a bunch of photos since then. This camera is easy to use and takes beautiful photographs.

BUT...I have the "H" problem too!(Read through the reviews, it looks like everyone eventually gets this problem.)At first I could fix it by taking the battery out of the camera. Now, that doesn't even work.I inquired about the price of fixing it and was quoted $140 by Canon. That is more expensive than a new one! I don't know what to do because I love the camera so much but Canon obviously has an issue here.

4-0 out of 5 stars This camera is well worth repairing
I bought the Canon Elph 370Z in 2000. After 3 years of heavy use the camera had to go in for servicing last summer because an error message (H) had appeared in the LED.The cost for repairs was about 1/3 of the original price.Several months later the same thing reoccurred and Canon fixed it free of charge. This is the first camera that I've ever had repaired. All my previous cameras have also eventually broke down from use. But this is the only one that I liked enough to have fixed.Photo quality is excellent considering the size of the camera, plus the convenience of APS. The quality of the camera is very good, too. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Place to Start
Pre-Req to this book is knowing how to use Power Tools and manual wood tools.A great place to start. Not for the highly experienced, but great for those who are just starting out in woodworking or those who like 1980 / 1990 Retro.Don't expect to be an expert after reading this book;but do expect to create some nice pieces and learning the basics. You must learn to walk before you run. It can be compared to a 4th Level School book of a 8 Level school.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dated plans & limited ideas
I bought this book hoping for plans and ideas for built-in shelves and storage units. The book does a fairly good job explaining the construction basics involved, but it is woefully bereft of ideas. The book is publishedin the early 1980's and the projects which are illustrated have not, forthe most part, stood the test of time. If you are looking for buildingideas and examples you can show a builder, this book is not a good startingpoint. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars don't waste your money
I wish I had scrolled down and read the reviews of this product before I made my purchase. While the concept of the bins is great for teaching young children to put their toys away after they are done playing, the piece is a disappointment in the durability department. My bars were cracked in less than 24 hours after putting it together. The bars should be made of metal and there should be more separation between the bins to make it easier for a child to remove the bins. The skimpy looking wooden piece that is similiar now looks pretty good.

1-0 out of 5 stars terrible product
Was excited to find something I could organize toys with but this turned out to be a waste! Cannot get bins in and out of sections without tipping ones above or below. Cannot store anything which goes above mid line on the container or expect it to dump....

3-0 out of 5 stars Similar one in different store
I bought a similar item at [local store].The company is Battat & it cost [item price].The dif. /b/ the 2 are the sides & colors. The sides have the top handles like this one but they also have a cut out of the middle so you can see the bins.I don't know if it makes a dif in its durabilaty but it does look nice.As for the colors, they include the traditional red, yel, grn,&blue.(The sides are red, bars are yel, & 2 bins in each color.)I prefer these colors over those light & gray colors.
However, it does have one drawback and that is that if you want to diplay the bins tilted it's not really sturdy & they end up falling flat anyway. But as the bins are flat they are very sturdy.
As far as how long it will last I have no clue.My son is 2-1/2, and he doesn't remove the bins but he does know how to put his toys away in it & enoys it. As long as it lasts at least a year, then I think that it's definately worth it & it looks so cute in his room.Hope this helps. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mr. Skeptical
My wife is a consultant for the product. I would not beleive her about tupperware products and quality until I actually started using them myself. We have potato chips that have been in a modular mate for a few months months. The other day we had some company over and we served the chips, they were as crisp as the day they were opened. We keep brown sugar in modular mates and it stays soft and moist for months. I thought that tupperware was nothing different than the rubbermaid, boy was I wrong. Shows what I know...

5-0 out of 5 stars Tupperware is just Dreamy
Earl Tupper wanted to enable homemakers to keep food fresh and appealing in a dry environment of the new gas and electric refrigerators flooding the postwar market. He created plastic products featuring a virtually airtight seal suited to protect food from this new drier environment. And as they say, the rest is history.

Firstly, let it go on record that I have had a long standing love affair with Tupperware since I was a very young child and happily remember tossing all my mother's Tupperware bowls about the kitchen.

Tupperware is mainly used for dry food storage in my kitchen and the green lid color is pleasing and fits into many color schemes.

The durability of this product is incredible. While the lids on the containers used to be more flexible, it does seem they become easier to remove and replace over time (a matter of a few months to a year of use).

These are the types of containers you want to store brown sugar in. They are almost airtight. Everything you store in them keeps much longer.

Don't worry about breaking a nail trying to open one of these containers! There is a lovely little tab on one edge. They also don't seem to mind being tossed in the dishwasher now and then.

So much Tupperware, so little time. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Abandoned again
This product is a good value for the money.however, it is abandoned as a product and won't receive any further updates.Who wants to buy yet another dead end product which will never be repaired?Kind of like buying a car from a manufacturer who doesn't exist any more.Who in their right mind would do that?

There are other products out there, like Neato, Magic Mouse Productions' Discus, or even Avery's software, that are still being updated.

1-0 out of 5 stars I did not ask for AOL, I asked for a CD Labeler
This program is another of those that AOL is using to infiltrate and take over your computer. After downloading the software I found that I had also, without knowing it, loaded my computer with AOL software and Icons. What's more, there is no way to uninstall it. They tell you that you can but you can't, unless you know how to go all over your computer and hand pick all the files it adds or modifies. I find this obtrusive and offensive. If I wanted AOL I would have it - after all AOL saturates us with advertising already.

4-0 out of 5 stars Labels for CD's
Putting labels on your CD's sounds like a great idea but I found that on some machines putting a label on a CD makes it unplayable. If you don't have that particular problem this program works great for creating attractive and informative labels for your music ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Lego Organizer
I already own eight of these cabinets, purchased along with my growing Lego collection over the past 10-15 years. They are perfect for sorting parts of different types, colors, and sizes. (I have two devoted to castle parts, and one just for assorted windows, doors, and hinges.) A very few drawers have gotten mysteriously milky with age, but the rest have remained in excellent condition.I only regret that Akro-Mils discontinued the 18-drawer cabinet, which is also very useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great organizer
I've been able to throw out all of my cardboard boxes that held nails, screws hooks etc. The Combo draw holds fasteners upto 3.5" and the large bins can hold a whole box of screws. No more digging through an assortment of screws to find the right one.Now everything has its place, wood screws, dry wall screws, anchors, hooks, nails even some small tools like a plumb bob and nail sets fit into the drawers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good design. Brittle drawers.
I now have eight of these and the 30-drawer version, and plan on buying many more. They are designed to withstand normal use, but I had to return two to the vendor because half the drawers were cracked. They seem to be made of a brittle (but very clear) plastic. The cabinet has stoppers to keep the drawers from coming all the way out accidentally--saved me many times. Besides the 23- and 30-drawers versions, Akro-mils makes many others, but none of the ones I've seen will stack with these two. ... Read more
