5-0 out of 5 stars the best glove i have ever used
This glove compared to others in it's class is the best. I have used the other gloves they breakdown and wear away too quickly. These gloves stand up to it all.Water, snow, abrasion, heat and even cold are no threat to this glove i would recommend it to any hard worker in the world that cares about his/her hands. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars as far as jocks go, it does the job
Rule number one: do-NOT machine-dry this baby. Either hang it to dry in an inconspicuous place (closet or bathroom) or lay it flat with plenty of cross-curent air (draft). You should make the mistake to heat it in the gas dryer (or electric, for those futility subscribers who don't mind supporting dams & nuclear generators) and your size L will become a M. Unless your waist is 28 or 30 (in which case your size is Medium), do get the Large. No, the waistband is not too loose on the L (it won't 'walk'), and no, the pouch-and-strap assembly is not more generous on the L. Unless you actually like to constrict your equipment in an overly binding jockstrap (such as for bronco riding or crawling beneath barbed wire while under fire), this Ace wide-waistband supporter is a lot more comfortable to wear for hours at a stretch (such as a round-trip from school/home to the field or work-site and back, without changing into skivvies afterwards). Although the material is a blend which resembles cotton but is not, you won't find another brand out there these days that has as non-irritating a feel and as loose a pouch as this all-purpose Ace. There do exist silkier jocks (finer fabrics, seamless interiors), but those smoother models by other brands do not provide enough breathing room for the jewels. This Ace is not the perfect answer to the need to contain in comfort, yet it sure beats wearing jockey-style briefs (with or without fly), which don't yield enough room up front for adequate comfort. Rule #2: Swimmers should either opt for a narrow-waistband style meant for runners/joggers/swimmers OR ascertain that the drawstring of their jammers/gym-shorts keeps the rear of the waistband from appearing in the lower back area. This is not the fault of a defect with jocks (wide or narrow band), but with the inherent design of the support and one's anatomy). Rule #3: Drug mules should repent & retire; that said, this Ace and most jocks won't hold the contraband securely: for that one could perhaps consider Munsingwear's kangaroo-pouch fly briefs. Eat well, live long, be happy.

5-0 out of 5 stars The jockstrap for work or play
Whether at work or play a man's scrotum needs the support only a decent strap can provide. Without the proper support the spermatic cords are stretched unnaturally, causing discomfort and in later life the great possibility of hideous disfiguration. Many years ago I tossed my briefs in favor of the strap and have not regretted it. My balls are healthy and in prime condition. Are your's? All men need to seriously consider the importance of proper scrotal support for lifetime good health. Toss your boxers, briefs, and thongs. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Just pictures and a few undetailed floor plans
The pictures are beautiful, and there are a few floorplans at the back. The text however is useless, unless you need to be told that putting in lots of options will raise the price, create the floorplan based on your family's interests and that you shouldn't spend more than you can afford. It really isn't anything more than you could get with a 10 minutes trip to the website of a log home manufacturer, except that it has much less info!

It tells you, for example, that you should make careful and deliberate use of all the space by planning it carefully, but does not show examples of good planning, give you thought provoking questions to ask yourself, or anything that could help you do it.

The book mentions that there are 2 types of log cabins, names them and gives a few uncaptioned photographs, without even one word to tell you what the advantages of one over the other might be.

It tells you that a complicated roof is more expensive than an uncomplicated one. Did you need to be told? It does not tell you what the choices are in roof styles, the advantages and weather reasons you might want one more than the other, dispite the cost, and it certainly does not tell you what the price differences are (even an approx % difference would have been a start).

It does not suggest anything useful and should only be bought by someone who is on their way to the log home manufacturer in their area so that they can point to the pictures in the book and facilitate the teaching the company will then have to provide. This is for a person buying a finished, installed product, not building a home.

I was very disappointed and would never have bought this book if I had seen it in a bookstore. It is meant for someone who buys magazines exclusively for the pictures and does not read the articles. This will not help you build a house.

5-0 out of 5 stars Concise, to the point
A good, usable well-illustrated book for the everyday person..the middle class "dreamer". Not focused on millionare showplaces, but homes for the average family, homes under 2500 sq ft. Cozy photos and a nice selection of floor plans. A good working tool if you are considering a log home in your future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Log Cabin Storybook
This book is aptly second titled a "storybook" - it is the stuff of fantasies - far removed from today's "cut and stack" modern log cabin building. The pictures and design ideas are beautiful.Well worth the time and money.A must read for small log cabin would-be owners. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A LAVISH, UNPARALLELED STUDY
Few monuments in our world inspire the awe and spur the imagination as does Rome's Colosseum.Even before the compelling Oscar-winning film "Gladiator," millions knew the prominent role this edifice played in history. And, while computer graphic imaging brought a remarkable structure to life in the motion picture, this lavish, unparalleled study restores it once again.

Over 150 color illustrations and 127 black and white images trace the Colosseum from the day of its inauguration in A.D. 80 to the present. It oncewhich covered six acres of land, sat between 12 and 15 stories above ground, and held over 50,000 spectators.Scholars representing art, architecture, and antiquities bring their expertise to an depth look at the gladiators' life and world. As we know, the bloody battles in which they engaged were the original attractions. It is amazing to learn how closely these events parallel contemporary spectacles - the recruitment and training of participants, creating eye-popping scenery, providing wardrobes, ticket sales, etc.

It was only when arguments arose concerning amphitheater games that the fighting came to a halt.

A detailed examination of the building's exterior and interior architecture is included, as well as complete views of the warren of underground areas constructed for gladiators and animals.

3-0 out of 5 stars GREAT photos, BAD editing
Got this for my h. equipment operator boyfriend. He can't get enough of the pictures but has been frustrated by numerous words spelled incorrectly, captions that don't match photos, and statistics that he is positive have been exaggerated or are just plain wrong. All in all, he loves the book, and his friends are jealous, but the editing was a disappointment. Still glad I bought it though.

Zenith R60V26 60" HDTV-Ready Projection TV
by Zenith
Electronics
list price: $3,299.95
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

Editorial Review

Zenith's massive, 60-inch high-definition projection monitor offers complete compatibility with progressive-scan DVD players and digital TV set-top box decoders. Its staggering 1,200 lines of horizontal resolution display either 540p or 1080i formats and benefits from a host of Zenith technologies, including a sophisticated up-conversion process for rendering 480i (such as a DVD player's RCA composite-video outputs) as high-resolution 540p. The R60V26 tops previous Zenith models with an enhanced HD lens system, which improves image brightness and focus. A computer-configured, 9-point digital-focus array actually looks at 117 points, interpolating between points to yield an image that is razor sharp from center to edge. The set's image is further sharpened by its .52 mm screen pitch.

The R60V26 also offers 3:2 pull-down detection, which detects and synchs film to video for smooth theaterlike pictures. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pull-down digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame accurate picture on your TV. Most HDTVs perform up-conversion (or line doubling) of analog signals to simulate a high-definition picture, and sometimes this process introduces artifacts that appear as pixilated scenes due to the digital conversion. The R60V26's improved HD driver increases both vertical and horizontal resolution to produce images that are free from picture artifacts. True HD signals are not affected by this process, which leaves them as true to life as possible.

Advanced scan-velocity modulation improves the definition at picture edges, sharpening images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. Jacks include three RF (radio-frequency) inputs (for VCR, cable boxes), two high-resolution component-video inputs, two S-video inputs, one S-video output, two sets of AV inputs, one set of AV outputs, and one set of variable analog-audio outputs so you can control levels from your TV's remote even when you're listening through your amplifier or AV receiver. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Exceedingly Useful and Well Written Guide for Nudists
This book (and its earlier editions) has been worth its weight in gold for finding clothing optional places in Hawaii, Italy, Key West and even locally here in the Phoenix area.Naked Places led me to what I think is the most gorgeous nude beach anywhere, that being Little Beach on the island of Maui. The photos in the book are very nice, but the descriptions are what really help the reader decide where they want to go.This is my Number One travel guide, as it should be for any man who likes to vacation naked and naturally.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb book for guys who just can't stand swimsuits
As far as I am concerned, Naked Places is the best gay travel guide out there.True, this book zooms in precisely on my main travel interests, namely gay nude beaches and resorts. But what really impresses me is how amazingly detailed and well written this book is, and the amount of information is really awesome... TOP NOTCH!I have every edition of this book and Mr. Boyd continues to out-do himself with each updated version.I really appreciate the fact that the author has gone to the effort of explaining in detail the risks involved in going to certain "traditional" nude beaches where it is technically illegal to be naked. You can read the facts and then make an informed decision about what risks you are willing to take. One of the things I most like about this newest version is the fact that all photos are reader submitted. The photos are nice to look at (and they do show EVERYTHING) but do not look like posed model shots. You can really imagine seeing one of these guys at a nude beach! This is a terrific book, and if you've ever thought about going to a nude beach or staying at a gay resort with a "clothing optional" policy, this is your book. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good for the Cuban aficionado.
This is a book written by someone who knows more about Cuban cigars and making an attractive package, then books.
This is a pair of books packaged in a single hardcover binder, tied shut with a brown ribbon. The package makes a good coffee table display peice. It would be a shame to pack it away where it couldn't be seen.

The writing, however, reads like a series of articles rather than a well planned discussion of cigars.Very poorly written.A tremendous bias towards Cuban cigars is also present.Imagine, if you will, a book about automobiles...in which the only recommendations are that you buy Roll Royce.Cubans are the un-paralleled pinnacle of the cigar smoker's world, having smoked them on a trip to Canada I can certainly attest. However, to reduce the world of cigars to nearly one nation, as this book does, is limiting.

Buy this book if you want to LOOK well educated about cigars...or if you want to convince yourself that only a Cuban will do.

5-0 out of 5 stars Primarily for Habanos Lovers
Anyone vaguely familiar with the Gerards are well aware of their expertise, dedication and love for the Habano, all of which is reflected in this beautiful edition which is actually a package containing two books.
Similar to their other literary venture, "Havana Cigars," both books are well written and are enhanced by excellent photographs.
One of the books deals primarily with general background information which, although should already be standard knowledge for the enthusiast, is well presented. The other focuses on ratings and tasting notes for some of the great Habanos; these notes being highly personal albeit quite interesting and informative.
This edition is a great addition to any Habanos connoisseur's library. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Licensed to shave closely and painlessly, this cord/cordlesselectric shaver is designated Norelco's James Bond model not onlybecause it's high-tech but also because its heads can be adjusted tosuit the sensitivity of 00-anyone's skin. The shaver has acomfort-control dial that varies the spring and pressure of the threefloating heads through nine settings. Roger Moore might opt for agentle setting, while Sean Connery surely would choose a firmersetting--and novices to grizzled veterans can please their faces aswell. For this model, Norelco has also improved the lift and cut,below-skin shaving technology of its two-stage cutting system, whichprovides slots for longer hairs and holes for stubble while thefloating heads are adjusting individually to facial contours. Afull-width trimmer pops up for neat work on sideburns and mustaches.

More tech-chic comes in the form of a polymer LED display that tellshow many minutes of shaving time remain when the shaver is operatingcordless on its lithium-ion battery. The LED display also warns whenthe heads need cleaning (all it takes is a rinsing under running water)or replacing (replacement heads available separately). An audible alarmsounds when the shaver requires recharging on its storage stand. Asix-minute quick charge is good for a single shave, and a one-hour fullcharge provides 100 minutes of cordless shaving. The shaver fits thehand beautifully and goes on the road stylishly in its leather travelpouch, while automatically adjusting to worldwide voltage variances. Itcarries a 60-day, full-satisfaction, money-back guarantee and atwo-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The one to buy ifyou've got sensitive skin
Although I'm a couple of years past the half-century mark, my skin is still prone to break outs. That is why I can't use a blade as my primary shaver.I've had the 8894XL since it first came out.It gives a very good shave, but not as close as a blade. But the best thing is there is minimal irritation.

Thinking I could get a closer shave with an electric razor, I got the top of the line Braun. It did give me a shave as close as a blade, but at the expense of great irritation and break outs.It made me appreciate the Norelco more.

If getting the closest possible shave at all costs is the most important quality you are seeking in an electric razor, get the Braun. However, if you are plagued with irritation when shaving, then this Norelco is the shaver for you.It is for me.

Oh, and the razor is easy to clean.

5-0 out of 5 stars Will I ever have to charge it?
Amazing how many shaves you can get in its 100 minutes charge time.I have had it over four weeks and after its initial charge, using it every day, I still have 55 minutes of charge time left. The shave seems to be closer than my old 6000 series shaver that I lost.I went all out and purchased this "over rated razor" and found it to exceed my wildest expectations.I have a thick course beard, however tender neck skin and it works great with no burning.Close and comfortable is the easiest way to describe the shave.

I was lucky to purchase the razor in March when the razor was $134.00 with free shipping and a $30 rebate. This razor is however well worth the current asking price and Amazon is still the low price leader.Check the pricing out yourself.Thank you Amazon and Norelco my face is happy again.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Old Hand
Hi all

This is my first product review and I have never endorsed a product before...
I think you can call me an old-hand in electrical shavers.I started to shave in 1978 using a Remington electrical shaver. My first Phillips/Norelco shaver was a gift from my grandfather in 1983.
Since then I have bought 5-6 Phillips shavers in succession (a new one every 3-4 years). They require no maintenance except for cleaning, a yearly head change and 2 year battery change. With each new shaver the shaving gets better and it is difficult to see any improvements that can be made in these machines. But they DO get them to shave better.

In the meanwhile I got several other brand shaving machines as gifts (Wet, Grid etc) but after experimenting for a few days I always resumed shaving with the Phillips dry shavers. I am not a fan of wet-electrical shavers (even Phillips).

I have had the Spectra 8894 for two months now. This one is a wonder and I strongly recommend it. I think if you buy a new shaver every couple of years you should get yourself the top model, the difference being 25$ or so per YEAR of use.

Editorial Review

The Hall of Fame is baseball's mecca; every true fan should make the pilgrimage to Cooperstown at least once in a lifetime. And while Treasures, officially sanctioned by the National Baseball Hall of Fame, can't replace the real thing, it can certainly whet appetites, rekindle memories, and fire up imaginations. Large in size and packed with illustrations, it is great show-and-tell; scores of beautifully photographed artifacts are on display with accompanying text to explain their significance. Flip the pages and you'll find Ruth's and Mantle's locker, Cobb's spikes, Shoeless Joe's shoes, Mays's glove, Aaron's bat--and that barely scratches the horsehide. Besides batracks of expected (and unexpected) Major League memorabilia, other treasures include relics from the Negro Leagues, the minor leagues, and the All-American Girls Baseball League as well as momentos from the press box, the library, the movies, and the art gallery. Sweeping from the mythic Doubleday ball to the present--Treasures would have benefitted from some more recent remembrances--it celebrates the game with affection and bravura, and through its very celebration, offers tangible insight into the National Pastime's firm grip on the national consciousness. --Jeff Silverman ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Let's "make fun of the guys with small penises!"
If you like such disgusting attitude and a lot of gossiping about mainly past celebrities this book can be of some interest for you. For a serious and respecting himself and the others man it is 0.5-star collection of poor quality photos.

5-0 out of 5 stars All men are NOT created equal.
Gary Griffin is a very interesting man!. Not just the extra inch he claims to have added to his Penis. No, more importantly his quest and relentless search for the overly endowed among his sex.
As a female over 35,oh heck 40!!. I enjoyed reading little tidbits concerning male stars past and present and who are the BIG 3 in Hollywood... ect. On a more intellectual note, historical info and of course the different methods available for men who are not satisfied with what nature has provided or (hasn't)enlargement methods. This book is enjoyable reading just simply cause it's like no other. (With photo's!!) on that most taboo of subjects Penises!. A must for your collection!.

2-0 out of 5 stars For Entertainment Purposes ONLY!
I truly wanted to like Griffin's text. After a thorough read, however, I found Griffin's text to be far from anything considered academic. The author's "research" is based on his private observations (which I consider invalid without further published data or photos), the solicitedaccounts of other people with no connection to the medical field ("Myfriend saw Mr. X's penis when he was next to him in the men's bathroom, andit was big!") which is called hearsay everywhere else, and theauthor's "private collection" of photos, which is not included inthe text. Why, if Griffin felt comfortable publishing basically a big bookof pictures, would he not include the several photos in his own collection, even though he makes textual reference to them?

If readers have feelingsof inadequacy before they read this text, I feel sorry for them aftercoming away from even a quick read. I am 8", and I wonder if Griffinwould consider me endowed. Strangely, although the author has not problemspouting off about the size of many of his friends' and celebrities'penises, he never mentions himself; feeling inadequate, Griffin?

Theauthor is very concerned about homosexual issues, but he, once again, ishardly academic in his approach. The author writes in a style that suggestshe is not yet comfortable with his sexual identity and really, really needsto assert that he is a bonafide man! His voice could be summarized as this:"I'm no homosexual! I'm a real man, and I do manly things. Let's lookat some pictures of naked men and make fun of the guys with smallpenises!" This text seems like Griffin's way of playing a joke ontruly interested readers.

Griffin suggests dangerous and idiotic ways ofchanging genital size. Vacuum tubes? Stretching? Weights? Surgery? Consulta doctor, NOT Griffin. Unless, of course, you want a stretched, permanentlyimpotent penis. Sexuality is not a joke, and Griffin's suggestions arecriminal and dangerous to the healthy functioning of the genitals.

If youlike pictures of penises, look here. He has a lot of them, including grossenlargements. My favorite is a picture of a 6" penis enlarged to fitan entire page (this is a large/wide book). Very juvenile. No pictures of"Long Dong Silver" or discussion of his condition of impotence, either. Readers can see an African tribesman with a stretched penis(purported to be 16"), but I doubt the poor thing works anymore, andthe photo appears to come from an ancient copy of National Geographic.Griffin includes an obviously doctored photograph of one of his friends,"a true horseman," whose penis would rival Arnold Schwarzenger'sforearm in length and girth; cut and paste, anyone? Most of the photos inthe text are of poor quality, none better than a photocopy of aphotograph.

If you like racial stereotypes, look here. Griffin saysblacks have wider (more girth) penises. He says Asians do not have largepenises. How nice. Perhaps he can say in future texts that blacks arenaturally good dancers and Asians are naturally good at math. These arejust stereotypes, not truths. Griffin just has not done enoughhomework.

If you want a non-serious book that you can read and laugh atwith friends, Griffin's text fits the bill. Otherwise, skip it. If you wantto read a serious bunch of hearsay on celebrity sizes, take a gander atthis text and put it back on the shelf (and don't believe half of it; JohnDilinger was not the endowed man he is reputed to be. This rumor wasstarted by the newspaper photo of his corpse, and it is his arm, not hispenis that is in the final stages of rigor mortis, holding the sheet up. Doyour homework, Griffin).

Be happy with who you are, not how much youare. Live a healthy lifestyle, practice a healthy sexuality (free ofrepression), and learn to appreciate and love yourself and all themysteries you hold; follow these simple rules and your self-esteem willgrow larger than any penis Griffin can photograph and enlarge. Our brainsare ultimately the sex organs, and we are all blessed in one way oranother. You might not be able to get bigger, but you certainly can bebetter! ... Read more

Editorial Review

A full two years in the designing, the Vieluxe 56-inchstainless-steel gas grill is arguably the Rolls Royce of gas grills. Infact, after cooking with Vieluxe, you may never want to make anothermeal indoors again. The team of engineers who put this grill togetherstarted with the 16-gauge tubing of the frame and the patentedstainless-steel cooking system, then moved to fine-tuning the details, delivering everything the most finicky grillmaster would think of, likebrass precision-control temperature valves. The grill's hood, made ofdouble-walled stainless steel, features end-cap construction for extrastrength, and the stainless-steel chassis sports side panels anddouble-walled doors. Then there are the burners. The primary cookingsystem features six 12,500-Btu burners that provide even heat andflexibility. A rear-mounted 15,000-Btu infrared rotisserie burner letsyou add roasting to your grilling repertoire. Throughout, Vieluxe'spatented flavorizer bars eliminate flare-ups, so even the juiciest meatdoesn't scorch. Patented spider screens even prevent pesky webs fromaffecting the grill's performance.

The stainless-steel cooking surface on the Vieluxe grill features3/8-inch, individually removable grates that are easy to clean andincredibly durable. The rotisserie spit rod and four spit forks arealso made of stainless steel and run on a heavy-duty electric motor, soyour turkey or chickens heat evenly on all sides. A dual-positionwarming rack expands to handle vegetables or kebabs.

The grill's 20-by-25-inch side work surface slides out to expose thedual side-burner station--two burners at 14,000 Btu's apiece--where youcan heat or sauté vegetables while grilling up a T-bone. Whenthe side burner is not in use, the work surface protects it from theelements. The side-burner station also has brass-sealed constructionand a porcelain-enameled cast-iron grate, which makes it both durableand very easy to clean.

Vieluxe has taken care of all the details. The continuous-sparkelectronic igniters are weather sealed and battery powered, so you canbe sure of consistent ignition. The heavy-duty brass temperature knobsprovide infinite control so you can sear, broil, roast, or slow smoke.A professional-grade thermometer is center-mounted on the grill's hoodfor highly accurate temperature readings. The grill's smoker system, powered by its own 8,000-Btu burner, features ported flues thatdisperse wood smoke evenly, creating rich flavors and tender meat.

The included tank on this model is mounted on a swing-out supportsystem that rests out of sight in its own closeable cabinet, and ahandy gauge lets you know when fuel's running low. The drip tray andcatch pan are designed for quick cleanup, and the unit transportseasily on 3-1/2-inch locking stainless-steel casters with rubber tires. All Vieluxe grills come with the Vieluxe Concierge service, a personalservice program that includes newsletters, recipes, tips, updates, andmore, as well as access to a help line full of grilling experts.Limited lifetime warranty. --Emily Bedard ... 5-0 out of 5 stars It does the trick, alright!
Ask yourself one question - If you could live in the lap of luxury, would you? Well, I can - and I do.Thus, this exquisite paragon of a grill is mine for the asking.I must admit the price was perhaps a little, shall we say, over the top. That being said, $...is a small price to pay for absolute grilling perfection.Am I wrong? Robert Jackson thinks not.

When you're talking 6 SR18 stainless steel primary burners, you're talking one hell of a grill - at least in my book. With
the primary cooking surface being a robust 648 square inches, you can cook for a small, yet hungry army. The 171-square-inch warming racks expands to 361 square inches - that's simply unheard of in the grilling industry.I like grilling out veggieburgers with all the fellas while watching Arena Football -a guy thing, I suppose. With the infallible Smoker System, infrared rotisserie, and two side burners measuredd at 77 x 33 x 50 inches(measured them myself for accuracy), you simply cannot, and I stress the word cannot, go wrong.Suffice it say, this grill does the trick. And that's the 411. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A near academic look at social expectations
Depending on your point of view, writer Dan Woog might be either a maverick or a pioneer. In his earlier "Jocks" series, Woog may well have essentially initiated the diaglogue that acknowledged that there are gays in pro sports. Here, in "Gay Men, Straight Jobs," Woog again takes on the challenge of portraying gays realistically: as they behave and as they are expected to behave based on societal expectations and demands. And it's from that perspective - profiling the gay man within the framework of institutional mores - that makes Woog something of an academic sociologist. An array of occupations perhaps traditionally thought to be exclusively straight are presented here by their gay workers: police officers, fire fighters, upscale Wall Streeters and even television news reporters. What emerges is how workers in those and other fields manage to balance their sexual orientation with the expectations and mores of their respective professions, and how those expectations relate to the larger society. To gain any meaningful information from this book, particularly if you're a gay man struggling to fit into your own social and occupational frameworks, it's best to read the book as something of a self-help guide. Don't expect any simmering accounts of gay sex: if you want that, look elsewhere. More important than that, you might find something here that has actual long-term benefits.

2-0 out of 5 stars Very humdrum
Mr Woog's book lacks style and has... this big measure -"coming out".Coming out is an individual thing and personalities vary. Lives vary.Every interview was preoccupied with whether the guy was "out" or not.The problem was that the related stories showed no correlation with sexual status. The book was badly preoccupied with this one fact.

Gay Men; Straight Jobs was a very poor attempt to interview a group of interesting men.Mr Woog seemed to have a set formula (a very poor formula at that) which he followed with each man he interviewed. The book provided little insight into the interviewed men's lives and provided a very dull read. There was no attempt by the author to tie threads of commonality or diversity between the different people.Life is not whether you are out or not; its how you lead your life which is important.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dan Woog Hits Home Again
As one of the subjects Mr. Woog chose for the book (park ranger) I was pleased to see how he treated my very personal story. Those who know me gave me great feedback on how accurate his depiction was and, more importantly, several people who are struggling with coming out at work have contacted me for help. The writing shows compassion and humor. My friends who have read it highly recommend the book as do I.Though I was a little shy about it, I'm glad I told my story to Mr. Woog. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Things that go woof in the night
Well, it’s porn about bears (in at least one case, literally â€" no, not quite THAT way…), ranging from historical pieces to moving tales of differently-abled bear sex to sweet romantic stories to revenge/rape fantasies.

Very stimulating reading, though I did not find the cover model very titillating. Of course, as the person who whines about classical CDs with skinny hairless men on the cover to trick us gays into buying them, I may want to have my panda-shaped cake and eat it too…

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot, hot, hot
I keep going bakc to this book and reading it again and again jacking off every time I do. The stories in this book get my blood pumping each an every time. My two favourite sotires were Bear Trap and the Bus Bears although the Berzerker had me going as well with the power struggles in that story. Definitely every bear who likes bearporn should buy this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bearly Put-Downable
Anthologies, by their Bear-y nature, are always a mixed bag. Some stories you love (and are sorry when they come to an end) and others you just wanna skip over.Me...well I really liked some of the ones another reviewer liked ... and others he didn't ...while I didn't like some that he did ...But its the nature of the beast...and all in all this is a pretty good anthology. It certainly reached the parts intended....and made me surf amazon to see if any of the authors had more work ....Ideal bedtime reading when you're snuggling up to a hairy-chested hunk!WOOF!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Pool Homework
Of The 23 trillion or so possible pool table layouts, the author has distilled them down to 99 different recurring situations in this best seller book. Including are basic cuts, combos, banks, jumps, masse' and advanced force through shots. Those fortunate enough to have a pool table at home can experiment privately with each shot for maximum learning impact. The one famous error in the book does not offset the great value of it. (error: hit the ball and the rail at the same time to cut a frozen ball down the rail).

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but here's something Better...
I got this book as a rookie.I started practicing about 5 days a week and thought I should get a book. This was a good book for practicing a few shots. And the things that the author explained were true, but if you really want to improve your game, you should seriously consider "Byrne's New Standard Book of POOL and BILLIARDS".Now that's a book that deserves the title of "everything you need to know to learn and master the game"!A guy at the local pool hall recommended it to me.I ended up buying both books.I don't even use the 99 Critical Shots book anymore.I mean, it's still a good book, and if I had a table in the basement and just wanted to practice a few shots on some Saturday afternoon, I would totally refer to this book.Otherwise, Byrne's book has been my guide and has helped improve my game far more than these 99 Critical Shots.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book gives you a really solid foundation
I had the good fortune of finding this book right after I decided I wanted to really learn to shoot pool (as opposed to just bang balls around at bars). This book has pretty much all the shots; with practice, you will learn to apply the principles from this book to almost any situation - eight ball, nine ball, straight pool, even some one-pocket.Great book.Practice the shots in here, along with developing your stroke, and you'll get at least up to a "B" level.Just note that Ray's thoughts on stance are a little dubious given the style of the modern players like Reyes, etc.I say you could stand quite a bit lower than Ray does and still have a solid stance. Buy this book - you won't regret it. ... Read more
