4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent cocoa
We bought this to make our kid's life easier (she makes a mess when making hot cocoa the traditional way). This device is incredible. Not only is it quiet, but it makes frothy, excellent cocoa. One thing it does need is a warmer to keep the cocoa warm. You pretty-much have to make 4 cups with it, otherwise you'll get cocoa-overload or cocoa-tea.You will not regret purchasing this appliance.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOOOOVE this thing!!!!!!!!!
I used to go to coffee shops to buy hot chocolate, NO MORE. The Cocomotion makes the BEST hot chocolate. Not only that, it stays blended til I reach the bottom of the mug! I heard about this through an acquaintance and he suggested putting a drop of dish soap in the Cocomotion and running it to clean it. That cleans the bottom REAL well, even if I wait til the next day to clean it. Yes, cleaning it is a bug-a-boo, but this tip makes it easier. ...worth the quirk, though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Surprise Salvation
I'm sipping double dark Valrhona cocoa as I compose this.

As with another reviewer, this was a kid purchase. And truly, it deserves 5 stars as a must-have for the household with kids.(I use the term "kids" loosely.)My teenage boys typically demolished the kitchen making their various cocoa concoctions, and invariably would either scorch it in the pan or worse.

This machine is beauty in simplicity. You don't REALLY have to measure anything.Just dump in what looks good and hit the ON button. And clean up is DRAMATICALLY superior to saucepan cocoa, at least as wielded by teenagers.

The cocoa blends and heats up beautifully. It froths, too but that is an ingredient issue, IMO.Additionally, the Cocomotion is darn useful for heating milk and cream for tempering, sauces and stuff.I have used it to froth milk for lattes, when I am feeling uncommonly lazy and unpicky. The boys and I will continue to experiment with this thing.

I'm done opining -- back to the cocoa. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the cost and space it takes up
I guess I'm just not as crazy about this muffin baker as these other folks. I got it at a great price, so figured, what the heck? But I don't find that it cooks the muffins as nicely as in the oven, the bottoms tend to be rather hard and I find the muffin comes out "denser" if you will than normally. But mostly, I think it's just a waste of another kitchen appliance that doesn't serve a heck of a lot of purpose. It's just not versatile enough for me and it's bigger than it looks in the picture! Quite large when you compare to the size of say, a 6-muffin tin. I suppose it will save on having to start your oven, and the muffins do cook faster and cleanup is quicker. I guess I just don't find the regular method all that much a hassle!

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth having if you like it fresh!
I am one of those that has all the kitchen gagets but uses none. They all get stored away in a closet, but this muffin maker has landed on my counter and has stayed. I think all would agree that it's nice to have a fresh muffin in the morning, but who's got the time? What sold me was that I can make the muffin mixes a day or two ahead and just bake it the morning of, as I get ready for work. I top them with sugar and fill them clear to the top so I get a nice big crispy mushroom top. I would encourage any muffin lover to go for it, however I paid $35.00 and it's now $29.00 and someone had written that they got it for $20.00 so hold out for the best price possible.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast And Handy Little Muffin Baker
I recently received this and used it for the first time today. At first the usual new-appliance chemical smell was released but that passed and I then went on to bake my muffins. What was especially nice was that I could smell the wonderful baking aroma only 3 minutes into the cycle. The results were equally appreciated as the muffins were a nice shape and were browned in all the right places. The only bummer is that I used an offbeat recipe that I got from the internet that was not so great. Looking forward to trying more traditional recipes. ... Read more

BonJour 10115-75 Professional Crème Brulee Set

Editorial Review

Few desserts are as texturally delightful as cracking a spoon through the caramelized top of crème brulee and dipping into the soft custard underneath. With four half-cup ramekins and a powerful butane torch, this set from BonJour allows you to produce professional crème brulee at home. The cool-touch metal torch features an anti-flare flame that caramelizes sugar quickly without heating the custard underneath. Adjust the intensity of the flame to add an extra kiss to a meringue pie or tart. A removable plastic stand keeps the torch upright on a countertop, and a safety lock helps prevent accidents. Generously holding 40 milliliters of fuel (butane not included), the torch burns for more than three and one half hours. The oval-shaped, 4-ounce ceramic ramekins measure 1 by 5-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches, and are safe for dishwasher, microwave, and oven. With the stand, the torch measures 7-1/4 by 5 inches. --Ann Bieri ... Krups 132-46 Sandwich Express Sandwich Maker
by Krups
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Kitchen
list price: $25.00

Editorial Review

At lunch or at midnight, grilling two hot sandwiches is a snap with this simple electric appliance. Butter four slices of bread (or brush them with olive oil), place the bottom slices in the preheated grills, pile on any filling--ham and cheddar, peanut butter and jelly, mozzarella and tomato--top with the remaining bread, close the lid, and the sandwich maker grills top and bottom simultaneously. About four minutes later, depending on the degree of browning desired, the two sandwiches come out piping hot. Nonstick for easy cleanup, the two grills each measure 5 by 4-1/4 inches. For safety, the handle stays cool during operation. Overall, the sandwich maker is 9 inches wide by 3-3/4 inches high by 9 inches deep, and its handle locks for compact, upright storage. --Fred Brack ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Does the job. Dummy lights are pretty confusing.
It makes sandwiches just fine.I'm not sure why everyone's complaining about cleaning it up - it's all teflon so all you have to do is a quick wipe to clean it up.It does ooze but get over it.I guess I buy small bread because it fits my bread slices just fine.. I think the idea is that if you use "normal" bigger slices it kind of crimps the edges that hang outside of the square area.Anyway, I will say that the "dummy lights" on the top are not very well thought out.Red light and green light.Which is which? They're both on most of the time.I just ignore them and it works fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yummy hot sandwiches for lunch or dessert....
Thumbs up on this sandwich maker.I've had this for years and I love the small size and convenience of making grilled cheese sandwiches in a pinch.Be sure to butter the outside pieces of bread that lay directly against the grill as to keep them from burning -- just a light spread will do.My kids love to even put apple pie filling inside pieces of bread for a quick treat!Mmmmmm! The clean up time is nothing too -- just take a piece of towel paper and wipe it clean!Great to give as a gift which is how I received mine!

5-0 out of 5 stars quick, easy, inexpensive, works great
Last winter I bought this Sandwich Express grill from a new bride who received three of them as wedding gifts. It cooks my Vienna toast perfectly. On Saturday mornings I like Vienna toast (two slices of dry bread dipped in an egg mixture like French toast, then filled with jam and grilled like a sandwich). It kind of tastes like a jelly donut only better. Even the sandwiches I make out of leftovers (like meatloaf on rye or sliced pork roast on pumpernickel) turn out great. I also make toasted cheese hotdog sandwiches in it (cut the hotdog into two pieces, one for each sandwich half). Veggie omelettes, grilled veggies, and even hash brown potatoes cook very nicely in this grill. It's also good for making cheese steak sandwiches, grinders, tuna melts, and reubens. I like this grill very much. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Truly not worth anything at all.
My parents purchased this product to make x-mas sprits cookies. We had an electric cookie press before, but it accidentally broke (I ripped the cord out while trying to remove it from our drawer).

This product SOUNDS nice. But as soon as you pop in some Energizer^2 batteries, you will see, that even the best, highest powered batteries will make you think that this product needs improvement.

Comparison: imagine your watch battery powering your home stereo.Don't think it'll work? Probably not.Now imagine the feeling of trying to listen to your stereo on that watch battery.Got it? Now imagine that same feeling using this product and *POOF* it's like you bought it.I believe that the people that have tried it will agree.

I have absolutely no idea what type of batteries that the people who give it 5 stars and claim that none of us know what we are doing are using.

I suggest that unless you are willing to replace the motor, or find another source of power that will actually seem that it's doing something, then look for a different one.

1-0 out of 5 stars A JOKE of an appliance
I cannot believe what a WASTE of money this thing was. HUGE disappointment. I was all excited when I got it, made some cookie press dough, put it in, and... nothing. The plunger pretty much spins in place. I could PUSH the dough out manually faster than this thing can. I couldn't even get ONE FREAKIN' cookie out of it, onto the cookie sheet.

DON'T buy this sorry excuse of plastic waste, and if you do, don't say you weren't warned. I probably would have more constructive criticism, but #1 This product isn't worth the effort, and #2 I spent ALL effing evening saying to myself, "It CAN'T be this bad. It must work somehow." Ummmm... NOPE!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars big disappointment
I bought this contraption from King Arthur Flour. They said it would work, and I trusted them. I have tried making cookies with this thing a dozen or so times. Only three times were the cookies somewhat nicely shaped. The other times they were gloppy and I gave up.

The motor is weak, the machine does not "cut off" the dough once it's pressed through, so it stays attached to what is in the tube. A big mess.

Nor does it work well for frosting. This was a big waste of money. I bought it as a gift for my daughter, so it wasn't opened until long after I could have returned it. If I could have, I would have returned it. I should have opened it before wrapping it, and tried it out. ... Read more
